Students from Francois-Dupont were filing in and out of the party house, the music was loud and clear even from down the street. Hundreds of students filled the property, with tens of them deciding to take the party outside. This means there was a good sized teenage audience to see a very nice motorcycle pull up in the most bad ass of ways and park on the curb. They also witnessed two totally awesome people climb off of the bike and if they weren't all drunk they would have some questions about why Luka Couffaine and Chloé Borgeois (Couffaine) were arriving together. They took their helmets off and set them on the bike.
"Alright, you know the plan." Luka and Chloé nodded, clasping hands. "And break!"
Luka first went to find Juleka, to let his sister know that he was here. He eventually found her with her arms around Rose, talking to Mylene and Ivan in a hidden corner of the second floor.
"Hey, Jules!"
"Luka! I didn't expect to see you here," Mylene said.
"What are you doing here," Juleka asked. "And what are you wearing?"
"What I don't look fantastic?"
"No you look great," Rose encouraged. "Here have something to drink!"
"Can't. I'm driving home tonight."
"Driving? What are you driving?"
"New bike."
"Bike? As in motorcycle?!" Juleka let her mouth drop when Luka nodded. She handed her drink to Rose so that she could double high five her brother. "Dude I'm so happy for you! I knew all that hard work would pay off!"
"Thanks, Jules. Actually I'm looking for Nino. Any idea where the D.J. booth is?"
"Um I think he's on the first floor in the main living room," Ivan told him.
"Thanks."
Luka began wading through the crowds of people, trying to get to the stair case. He passed by Chloé talking to Sabrina and Alix. She had a drink in her hand and winked at Luka as he went by. He held up one finger at her to convey to her that Nino was on the first floor. She nodded.
"Well, girls I'm going to get some more "punch". Do you need anything?"
"Nah, thanks though!"
Chloé followed Luka at a reasonable distance as they descended to the first floor. They rendezvoused at the snack table.
"What's the plan to get him away," Luka asked as Chloé pulled a balloon out of her pocket.
"Well," she began as she stretched the balloon. "We have two options. Set fire to his machinery or tell him that Alya needs him."
"I like the second one." Luka watched Chloé sink the balloon into the "punch" bowl and fill it with liquid. Then she reached out to grab a very drunk Kim and handed him the balloon.
"Run with this as fast as you can! Go, go, go!" Luka kept an eye on Kim until he ran around a corner and then turned back to Chloé with a exasperated look on his face. "What? It's non harmful mischief."
"Where did you even get that?"
"Max carries all sorts of stuff. Listen, I'll go distract Nino, you snag what we need. Meet back up on the second floor."
Luka simply rolled his eyes playfully before they separated once more. Chloé went straight to the main living room where the DJ booth was. There were tons of people dancing in a massive circle in the middle of the room but luckily, Alya was not one of them. Chloé stepped right up to Nino and pulled him close.
"Alya really needs you. Like bad. She told me it was an emergency and she's on the second floor. She said if you're not there in two minutes, she's leaving."
Nino's eyes widened and he rushed off without saying a word. Luka leapt up onto the DJ booth and began searching through bins while Chloé went onto Nino's computer and queued up a different song.
"He was out of here quick," Luka commented.
"I think I struck some sort of nerve."
"I got them!"
"I'm finished. Let's split before he gets back!"
They quickly vacated the DJ booth and ran towards the stairs, dodging a still running Kim with a balloon full of booze. Luka had to admit it was pretty darn funny. They made it to the second floor balcony right at the beginning of the last chorus of the current song. Chloé pulled the hood of Luka's jacket up over her head, zipped it up to cover her clothes and put on her sunglasses to hide her eyes. He watched her kick her shoes off, ready to move.
"Here," Luka said and he handed her a microphone. "I cannot believe you dragged me into this!"
"Oh come on. It'll be fun. Promise," she assured as she tucked the last strands of blonde hair into the hoodie. The next song began playing and everyone cheered as they recognized the beginning of iconic rap song "The Real Slim Shady". Except when the vocals started, it wasn't Eminem singing. It was Luka.
"May I have your attention, please? May I have your attention, please? Will the real Slim Shady please stand up? I repeat, will the real Slim Shady please stand up? We're gonna have a problem here."
As soon as all of the kids realized what was going on, they screamed and cheered for Luka, ready for him to continue the song. But it wasn't him who picked it up. It was Chloé. She picked up from the second verse, knowing every word by heart.
"Will Smith don't gotta cuss in his raps to sell records. Well, I do, so fuck him and fuck you too!" With that lyric she held up a middle finger and swung it around so that everyone could see. "You think I give a damn about a Grammy? Half of you critics can't even stomach me, let alone stand me." Luka couldn't help but chuckle dryly. She definitely chose this part on purpose.
"But Slim, what if you win, wouldn't it be weird," Luka said, so Chloé could respond.
"Why, so you guys could just lie to get me here? So you can sit me here next to Britney Spears? Shit, Christina Aguilera better switch me chairs. So I can sit next to Carson Daly and Fred Durst. And hear 'em argue over who she gave head to first?"
Luka looked around to see that all of the teenagers had gathered around them on the top floor and the bottom floor, looking up at them. They were all jumping and dancing, cheering Chloé on. She was incredible, she hadn't missed a beat. All of her mean comments and giving orders must have given her great lung capacity. The people on the top floor had made a semi circle around them, giving Chloé plenty of space to spin and move as she pleased. Luka did his fair share of dancing but none of the hip swaying or jumping that Chloé was doing.
"Little bitch put me on blast on MTV."
"Yeah, he's cute, but I think he's married to Kim, hee-hee," Luka interjected. Chloé picked up the lyric perfectly.
"I should download her audio on MP3. And show the whole world how you gave Eminem VD. I'm sick of you little girl and boy groups. All you do is annoy me, so I have been sent here to destroy you."
Luka caught the attention of the people on the floor below, all eyes were on him. He signaled to them to make sure they were prepared for what Chloé was about to do and that they were on board. They gave him an all clear.
"And there's a million of us just like me. Who cuss like me, who just don't give a fuck like me. Who dress like me, walk, talk and act like me." She climbed onto the railing, using Luka's hand for support and then turned so she was facing him. "And just might be the next best thing, but not quite me." And with that, she fell backwards, dropping to the bottom floor and being caught by the party-goers below. Luka joined her for the chorus.
"'Cause I'm Slim Shady, yes, I'm the real Shady. All you other Slim Shadys are just imitating. So won't the real Slim Shady please stand up. Please stand up, please stand up?"
Luka held his microphone out over the crowd that was screaming the lyrics alongside them while Chloé crowd surfed in circles, never stopping the lyrics.
"'Cause I'm Slim Shady, yes, I'm the real Shady. All you other Slim Shadys are just imitating. So won't the real Slim Shady please stand up. Please stand up, please stand up!"
And with that, the song was cut off and everyone cheered loudly for the duo, lifting Chloé up on their shoulders and carrying her towards the stairs. Luka rushed down to meet her and she jumped into his arms as soon as she was put down.
"Well, Mme. Couffaine, we did it," Luka teased. He had his arms wrapped around Chloé's mid section and her arms were up around his neck.
"Hell yeah we did!"
The crowd cheered some more but one voice could be heard among all the rest. Who that voice belonged to, no one knows.
"Hey you guys should kiss!"
"Yeah that's a great idea!"
"Kiss! Kiss! Kiss! Kiss!"
Luka and Chloé laughed at each other. They knew that if the others had any idea about who was wearing that hoodie, they would certainly would not be cheering like they were. But when Chloé lowered her glasses slightly so that he could see her eyes, he couldn't help but grab the sides of the hoodie and pull her in so that they could kiss each other. Everyone cheered as their lips met but all Luka and Chloé could focus on was each other.
Their first kiss as husband and wife, usually reserved for the alter was happening here in a stranger's house that smelled like alcohol. All of the tension that had been building since the second they signed the marriage license finally released itself in that one kiss. Luka moved one of his hands to her cheek and the other to the small of her back as he pushed her down into a dip. If the party-goers didn't know better, they could say it almost looked like a stereotypical wedding kiss that one would see in a stock photo. Luka pulled away from Chloé for just a moment to smile at her before going right back in for another kiss.
The crowd cheered as they finally pulled apart and Chloé was put right back on her feet again.
"I love you," Luka bent down to whisper into her ear.
"I love you too."
