Day two of Prompt Party 2021: Prompt 52 but switched up a little. Regina Kisses Robin on a dare.

The large group of friends sat on the beach around a little makeshift firepit. After spending the entire day down by the shore, swimming and just enjoying their time, night had fallen, and they were now huddled around simply chatting. Regina was sandwiched between Mal and Emma as they lounged on a picnic blanket; the sixteen-year-olds were feeling carefree after school had finished for the summer.

Regina was wearing her distressed shorts and an oversized sweatshirt. Her long, dark hair was tied up in a messy ponytail, and her face was makeup-free and sunkissed. She couldn't help herself from looking over to where Robin was sat; he was laughing and joking with his friend, his face glowing with the light of the fire. He was so cute. She'd had a crush on him since he had moved from England a few years before, but didn't have the courage to do anything about it.

"Will you just ask him out already?" Mal scoffed. Regina's friends knew all about her little infatuation; they teased her mercilessly about it.

"Shush," she grabbed her friend, conscious that Robin would overhear them from beyond the fire pit.

"I don't know why you're so scared about it. It's clear that he likes you."

"You can't be so sure."

Emma rolled her eyes; she was clearly fed up with having this conversation. Regina had to confess that they'd had it more times than she would care to admit.

"For heaven's sake. I'm sick of this discussion," Mal grumbled. A moment later, the brunette watched as a sinister smirk came across her friend's face, and the blonde sat up taller. "Who's up for a game of truth or dare?" she asked, speaking loud enough so that everyone around the campfire could hear her.

The group agreed, and Regina felt her heart rate increase; she had a feeling that she knew what her friend was up to. The blonde was sneaky, and Regina was going to be the sole focus of her game plan.

"Who would like to go first?"

Ten minutes into the game and neither Robin nor Regina had a turn to play, something Regina was glad for. If it were to be her turn, she didn't know what would be a worse choice, truth or dare. Either way, she knew that both Mal and Emma would find a way to make it difficult for her. She watched as many of her friends were dared to kiss people or to confess their secret crushes. That was going to be her fate should it be her turn.

However, it wasn't her who ended up going first. Robin was picked by Killian, who had a malicious grin on his face. The boy whispered with one of his other friends before asking Robin the all-important question, "truth or dare?"

The English man rolled his eyes humorously before stating with confidence, "dare."

Killian clapped his hands, rubbing them together eagerly as he shared a glance with the blonde on Regina's left, "okay then, Robin. I dare you to kiss the girl that you fancy the most."

Regina nearly choked on the mouthful of lemonade she had just drunk from her cup. Her eyes widened as she watched Robin; anticipation swelled within her as she saw him stand shyly from the log he had been perched on. He rubbed the back of his neck as he looked around the girls. Regina knew that some of the others around the firepit might also have a crush on Robin. Maybe he liked one of them more than he liked her? She didn't know if she would be able to stay for the rest of the evening if that were the case. She would have to make some kind of excuse to leave, and it would be almost impossible to hide her heartbreak.

Then he was on the move, walking around the fire. Regina glanced at her friend by her side, seeing Marian just on the other side of her. The girl looked hopeful as she watched Robin. But he didn't stop at Marian, and when Regina glanced up, he was staring right at her. Suddenly he stopped directly in front of her and offered her his hand.

Was this actually happening? She would squeal in excitement if she wasn't afraid of embarrassing herself. There was also a little bit of shock running through her at the fact he had picked her, "me?"

"Yes you," he grinned, wriggling his fingers at her, clearly wanting her to take his hand. Slowly she did exactly that; his large hand wrapped around hers, and he softly pulled her to her feet. Did they really need to stand for him to kiss her? What was he up to? "Care to go for a little walk along the shore?"

"Hey! We've got to see it for it to count!" Killian protested.

Regina rolled her eyes and watched as Jefferson punched the guy's arm in response, "dude cut it out."

All the while, Robin didn't take his eyes from her. His stare was intense, and her stomach fizzled in anticipation. She offered him a shy smile as they moved out of the circle and away from their friends, heading towards the lapping waves. They walked in silence, their bare feet squishing in the soft sand that had begun to cool as the sun started to set.

Regina's hand was still encased in his, and she could feel his thumb rubbing over her skin. The tender touch managed to set her whole body on fire; it felt nice. Yes, she found she liked it very much. It would be quite easy for her to get used to having his hand wrapped around hers.

Once they reached the waterline, Robin took a deep breath; she anticipated that he was about to say something. Nothing could have prepared her for the conversation they were about to have. "Did you enjoy the day?" he asked, nudging his hip softly against hers.

"I really did. It's so good to be free from school, isn't it."

"Yeah, definitely." Robin nodded.

The shallow water was washing over their feet. The sound of the waves breaking the silence that had again settled between them. "So, I'm the girl you fancy the most then?" Regina questioned; her words were quiet, and she didn't dare look up at him whilst she waited for his response. Instead, she opted to look down at the sea, admiring the way it foamed and bubbled when it washed over her skin, skimming her ankles to rush up the sandy shore, only to be pulled back in again.

"The only girl I fancy, actually."

"Really?"

"Hmm. I have for a while."

"I see."

"I was worried about telling you, I suppose. I didn't know how you would respond, I guess I still don't."

Regina could hear the worry in his tone, and when she looked up at him, he was staring at her, had clearly been watching her to see if he could gauge anything from the way she was reacting to his words. She smiled at him softly. He was so cute she was almost lost for words. "You had nothing to be worried about."

"Seriously?"

There was excitement laced in his voice, and she couldn't stop the giddy feeling from rising within her. "Yes. If I'd had the dare, you would have been the person I'd have wanted to kiss."

The pair stopped walking, and Robin tugged her so that she faced him. She was shorter than he was, her little shorts barely stuck out of her massive hoody. "Speaking of dares. I don't think I actually completed mine."

"No, I don't believe you did," she shrugged, her bottom lip coming between her teeth as she looked up at him, her eyes shining with hope. "Maybe you could now. I wouldn't be opposed."

His warm hand left hers to slide up and cup her cheek, stroking it tenderly. The way he was looking at her made her shudder and take a step closer. A moment later, he was leaning in, and their lips were brushing ever so softly in a kiss that took her breath away. They parted, and she rested her forehead against his, humming softly. "So, would you maybe want to do that again?"

"Definitely," he chuckled, kissing her again, wrapping his arms around her waist as he pulled her close. The pair kissed one another until they heard hollering from across the beach and pulled away just enough to see their friends on their feet and cheering. "Seems they're just as happy as I am about this."

"Oh, you're happy are you?"

"Very much so, I've been waiting a very long time to snog the pants off you Mills."

She sniggered at his Britishness and pushed herself up on her tiptoes so that her face was level with his, "well you might just get the chance to snog me again before the nights over." Her fingers played with his hair as she watched him, his deep ocean eyes were sparkling as he looked at her. Regina moved her mouth near his ear, blowing softly, teasing him before quipping, "you'll just have to catch me first."

With that she was off, running along the beach, the sea splashing as she went. "Hey! Unfair!"

Regina let out a loud laugh as she heard him coming after her. Unluckily for him, she was fast; she did triathlon, so running was her thing. However, it wasn't as though she didn't want him to catch her. It was quite the opposite. She slowed her pace a little, and as soon as she did, he caught her. His arms wrapped around her waist as he lifted her into the air. She squealed as he did so, mainly because he spun her around before depositing her back down on the sand. She whirled to face him and kissed him without invitation, wrapping her arms around his neck as she pressed her body against his. "You're not a bad kisser, you know Locksley," she breathed against his lips.

"Ditto. Though I don't have anything to compare it to."

"That was your first kiss?" Regina asked.

"Well, technically, that one was my third kiss, but… ouch."

"You know what I meant," she smirked evilly. The temptation to playfully smack him for his teasing had been too strong. The way he was grinning at her and playing up to her actions told her that she hadn't miscalculated their vibe.

"Yes, you were my first kiss. Unless you want to count parents and grandparents when I was younger."

"No, I don't think so," Regina giggled, looking into his blue eyes. "It was my first kiss too, you know."

"Really?"

"Yeah, why do you seem surprised?" she questioned, splashing him playfully. The water had become much chillier than it had been earlier that day.

"I just figured someone so beautiful must have had many people wanting to kiss her."

She rolled her eyes at him, "they may have wanted to kiss me, but I didn't want to kiss them back. I want to kiss you though."

"You do?"

"Hmm. I'm afraid I may already be addicted to your lips."

"Oh, what a shame," he replied sarcastically, earning himself another splashing. This time he didn't let it pass, instead, he scooped her up in his arms, showing his strength as he hauled her into the air once again, and she wrapped her legs around his waist.

"You are not going to drop me are you?"

"I don't know. Are you going to splash me again?"

"No."

"I'm not sure I trust you."

"Hey, I'm not going to splash you," Regina chuckled, leaning in to touch her lips to his, kissing him deeply as one of his hands snuck up into her hair and the other held her as though she weighed nothing. Halfway through the kiss, she felt herself falling a little, but he was quick to right her again, and she knew he had been playfully threatening to drop her into the water, though she wasn't bothered enough to tear herself away from his mouth. When they parted, she was completely out of breath, resting her forehead against his as she tried to focus; her brain felt foggy, and she had no idea what on earth was happening.

"You're definitely a good kisser Mills."

"If I'm this good after only four kisses, imagine how much better I will be after a bit of practice."

"Oh gods, I don't think I'll be able to cope."

"Are you intending on putting me down any time soon?"

"I don't think so. Maybe I'll just carry you around from now on."

"Put me down, you fool."

"Aww, I like carrying you."

She rose an eyebrow at him as her fingers tickled over the back of his neck. It then occurred to her that they had kissed and confessed their feelings, but nothing had been said about what they were to each other now. How did this change things for them? What was their status? "So, are we like girlfriend and boyfriend now or what?" she asked, trying her hardest to sound casual. It didn't seem like a casual thing though, no, she was actually worried about what his answer might be. She so desperately wanted to be his girlfriend.

"Do you want to be?"

"I suppose I could deal with it."

"You could deal with it, hey?"

"Hmm."

"You're asking to be dropped in this water, aren't you."

"No, Robin, don't."

"Come on then, Regina. Tell me the truth. How would you feel about us being together, boyfriend and girlfriend?"

"I'd like that. Very much."

A smile, larger than she had ever seen, emerged on his face as he looked at her, his dimples on full display. The temptation to touch them was too much, and she couldn't stop herself from running her finger over one. "These are so cute."

"You're so cute," he chuckled, "and as much as I love carrying you, my hand is cramping up."

Regina pouted as he lowered her to the ground, but not without kissing her again as he did so. She had a boyfriend! Robin Locksley was her boyfriend, and she was so excited about it. The temptation to run over to her friends and celebrate was strong, but she was resisting for the time being.

The sun was disappearing into the sea, and Regina knew that must have meant that the evening was moving on. As much as she would love to stay out with her friends, she had training in the morning and knew her mother wouldn't appreciate her turning up too late. No one wanted to swim, cycle and run on hardly any sleep. With a soft sigh, she reached out and took his hand in hers, "I'm going to have to head home now."

"Do you have to go?" he asked, an adorable pout forming on his lips as he hugged her.

"I'm afraid so. I have training at 6 am."

"What time does training finish?"

"Around 12, why?"

"Can I pick you up for lunch?"

"Oh, you mean our first date?" she grinned, taking his hand as they slowly began walking towards their friends, who seemed to have packed up anyway, probably because most of them had curfews.

"Yeah."

"Where will you be taking me on this date?"

"Where do you want me to take you?"

"I'm not going to tell you where to take me, though I will let you know that I'm a fan of ice cream."

"I already know that one," Robin chuckled. He stopped before they reached their group and turned to her again, "so, shall I message you tomorrow about when I can come to pick you up?"

"Yes please," she nodded. For some reason, she felt a little shy again, though it might have been because she had a feeling her friends were spying on them; the boys seemed to have made themselves scarce. He reached out, pushing a stray strand of her dark hair behind her ear before leaning in and kissing her softly.

"Goodnight, Regina."

"Goodnight, Robin," she whispered, watching as he hurried after the boys who could just about be spotted in the distance. He kept looking back at her as he went, giving her little waves before he sprinted towards his friends, and they seemed to tease him as he caught up.

Her own friends were still there, stood by the now extinguished fire. Mal and Emma were clearly waiting for her, and she walked over to them, a soft smile on her face.

"So? Tell us what happened? We are dying of anticipation over here," Emma laughed. Both blondes stared at her, waiting for her to say something.

"Not much to say. Except for maybe the fact I now have a boyfriend, and we kissed. Other than that, there is nothing important to report. I…" she was cut off by her friends squealing and hugging her, even lifting her off the ground. They were just as excited she was about the situation; Regina had a feeling that this might just be the best summer ever.
