A happier day

After Kylee ran away from her old life, she decided to start a new one, one with only her and her son. She had just recently bought the apartment room, or the one that she had run to. When she first got in, it was an absolute mess. Being the optimistic and hardworking person that she is, she cleaned out all those disgusting stains and grime stuck in the walls. She patched up holes and fixed the broken faucets and stuff like that. "Man, somebody got killed here." She irritatedly muttered to herself when she threw out the bed covered in "who-knows what" bodily fluids. After some remodeling it was clean and fresh, perfect for her and Jason. Later she bought a single bed and a crib for her son and put them in the same room. She had them there so she would be able to look out for her son and make sure he would be okay. That night, she lay down in her bed. She was pretty depressed, being alone on her bed. Nobody to snuggle up to her and give her comfort. While she did hate Brett for his sudden disgusting identity reveal, she did miss the company; even if the two were pretty much on separate planets. As she was in her bed, she tried to keep an eye out for Jason. However, she had trouble keeping her eyes open, to the point where she could no longer hold them. She then began to doze off. Just as she was going to fall asleep, Jason started to fuss. Kylee used the little energy she had and got out of her bed. She slowly walked over to Jason's crib to see the little torchic rolling around and rubbing his eyes while letting out little sniffles. She then gently picked him up and started rocking him in her arms. He seemed to enjoy the treatment as he stopped fussing and calmed down. She smiled down at him and kissed his forehead. "Goodnight Jason," she said to him as she set him down into his crib. She then walked back over to her bed and collapsed and sighed. She then tucked herself in, holding her pillow near her head. " I'm going to make you a happy but strong boy" She said before dozing off to sleep. From that day on she took care of him, trained him to do many things, and taught him different skills that would be important to his future life.

(4 years later) Jason energetically woke up and ran to her mothers room. "Mom! Mom! wake up!" He shouted excitedly as he jumped on her bed. She giggled and slowly stretched and sat up to see him so excited. " Okay, settle down Jason." She said to the energetic, now 4-year old torchic. "Mom! Do you know what day it is?!" He said while trying not to jump on her bed anymore. Kylee smiled at her son and told him: "yep it's your birthday. Now go to the kitchen and wait for me! Mom has to get ready." Jason nodded and gave an: "okay mom" before he ran out into the kitchen to wait for her there. Kaylee got ready and went to join her son. As they both got to the counter at the kitchen and sat down, Kaylee pulled out a brown box full of doughnuts. She then opened it and pulled out a maple-bar with bacon on it. (Jason's favorite) She then took out a single candle from the same box, put it on the doughnut, and pitched the wick, heating it up and lighting it. Jason sat down in front of it and smiled. Kylee then started to sing. "Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday to you! Happy birthday dear Jason! Happy birthday to you!" When the song was finished, Jason blew out the candle. " Thank you mom!" He said as he started to eat it. "You're welcome" she said as she pulled out a plain-glazed doughnut and ate it. She didn't want too much sugar as she cared about her weight and her health. When Jason finished his, he couldn't go on. "Done already?" said Kaylee. "I'll get sick if I eat anymore!" Replied Jason to his mom. Kylee always bought a dozen for the both of them. Jason always wanted to eat the whole box before he had any, but once he had one; he's too sick to go on, and it always went like that. As they both finished, Kylee then told her son: "Want to open presents?" "yeah!" Jason shouted excitedly as he rushed to the living room which was right in front of the kitchen. ( It was a small apartment after all.)

Jason sat down on the couch and looked at his four presents sitting in the center of the living room. Kylee then joined in with him and sat down beside him. "Go ahead, pick one" She said to him as he leaned over and grabbed a small, flat rectangle that rattled when it shook. He dug into the paper and ripped it off. Inside was the "Muppets movie", He smiled at the gift. The Muppets movie was his favorite movie, he loved it because he never laughed harder before while watching a movie. "Thank you mom! I love this movie!" He told her excitedly. She smiled at her son's happiness. Nothing made Kylee more happy than seeing her son being happy. Then Jason opened up another one; it was flashcards for reading. Boring! He then opened up a third one; it was a book about how to do fire tricks. He liked this one, for he enjoyed practicing new moves, and also being a fighting type helped as well. The final one was his favorite. It was a silk black karate belt. It was long and smooth. At the edges there was a golden, old-fashioned looking Japanese text that translated to: " The strongest fighters are the ones who are kind and dignified." The belt itself doubled the strength and endurance in any fighting type. Jason leaped up and hugged his mother. He said he loved it and wanted to use it. Kylee did have to warn him. "Not now Jason, you don't want to burn the house down do you?" Kylee said to him in a more stern voice. " Oh! Right, right!" Replied Jason in realization. Kylee picked up the scraps of wrapping paper and threw them in the firepit. She then shot a small flame into the pit, igniting the paper inside. She then picked up Jason and put him on her shoulders. Jason grabbed his belt and his book and the two left the building.

They walked down a path that trainers usually took, there was nobody out at this time so they didn't have to worry about running into anybody. They then got to the spot. It was a dry empty area with nothing but hills made of parched and scorched dirt. A place where there were no fire hazards and where nobody would get hurt. Jason already had his fighting pants on, so he then tied the belt onto his waist and already could feel its awesome power surging into him. He then took his shirt off and revealed his pretty muscular body for a 4 year-old. He tossed away his shirt which his mom caught in mid-air. He took a fighting stance and eyed a nearby target that his mom had set up before. "I'm ready mom" He said pretty intimidatingly in his young voice. She then prepared an attack for him to do and shouted it out. "Jason! Use ember!" Obeying his mothers command, he balled his hands together and formed five glowing pieces of charcoal in his hands. With great force, he threw the embers at the dotted log. The second they made contact, they exploded on impact, destroying the log. Jason then looked back to his mom and waited for the next command. Kylee nodded at her son's performance and readied the next attack. She showed Jason where the next target was as he readied his fighting stance. She then prepared the next attack. "Okay Jason! Quick attack! Then follow it up with scratch!" Jason obeyed and dashed so quickly; it left a glowing hot rail in the dirt where he had run. A split second after he ran towards it, he followed it up by slashing the log in half with his claws. The log was blown to splinters as he cut it. Kylee then gave a golf-clap to Jason's performance. "Next move!" she shouted. Jason nodded and looked at two more logs with targets on them. "Quick attack and ember, watch out! They will move!" Jason sped with blinding speed while forming more explosive embers. The saw the first log as he threw one ember at it, blowing it up. The second one, Kylee, launched into the air. Jason eyed it, he then leaped with his quick attack and kicked the log in mid-air while throwing two more embers at it. The third one she launched behind him without him knowing it. He used his detect to find the next target. When he saw it in his small vision, he leaped and gave it a spin attack with his flaming leg. The logs shattered instantly after being struck with his mighty kick. As he landed, she gave him a golf-clap for his performance. " You seem to know those attacks pretty well!" She said to him, "You want to try something new?" Jason looked at his mom and took a stance and replied with a little cocky tone: "bring it on." With a smile she then walked over and took a stance as well.

"This move is called flame charge. It's essentially a ball of condensed fire that will explode on impact." She placed her arms facing apart from each other. Jason looked and then copied his mothers pose and got ready. "So, start with breathing in." Kylee then took in a deep breath, Jason copied and did the same thing. Kylee continued to give her demonstration to her son. " Focus all the heat in your body and move it to your arms." Jason listened and did the preparation simultaneously with his mother. Soon the air around their arms began to heat up, the air started to ripple in the building heat. "Now, place both your arms near your side and condense the fire into a ball in between your hands." as the two harmoniously started creating fire balls, they concentrated into the air, ready to fire. Kylee got ready to shoot, " now fire!" With that being said, the two shot out the fireballs. Kylee's went out into the air and explodes mid-flight into a large surge of heat. Jason's went a small distance before fizzling out. " What was that?! " Jason shouted in confusion. Kylee looked down to see her frustrated son. "It's okay Jason, don't expect to get it right the first time." She told him with sympathy. "But I've got everything else just fine!" he said agitatedly. She then looked down at him. " Do you want to try again?" Jason looked up, he then nodded to his mom and prepared his stance again. They went through the steps again, Jason's ball had the same reaction as the first one. He didn't think too much of it, knowing that he is beginning to learn it. They spent a few more tries on the move, trying different ways of stance. But Jason just couldn't get it. They spent about two hours practicing and training, but Jason couldn't find a way to get good at it. "Oh well." Jason sighed in disappointment. Kylee patted his back. "Don't worry Jason, we can practice tomorrow." Jason looked up at his mom and smiled. "Sounds good mom." She then scratched her hand through his silver hair. Jason did flinch but he did appreciate the affection. "You did good though." She complimented him. "But I do have one more problem." She threw a target log into the air and stood underneath it. "I'm being attacked!" She said in a fake-scared voice. Jason leaped up at the falling log and kicked it, spiking it into the ground. He slashed his arm in the air, creating a wave of fire that scorched the target. He finished it off with a dropkick onto the log, yelling while splitting the thing in half. He then stood up with an intimidating stance and looked at the scorched splinters. " If you mess with me or my mom, I will make you sorry." Kylee then scooped up Jason and gave him a hug. "Thank you Jason! You saved me!" She said, adding on to the role-play. "You're welcome mom!" Jason replied happily to her. As she set him down she handed him his shirt. He then took it from her and put it on. " Let's go home." She said to him as they started walking back to the house.

Jason would try to practice his moves along the way, just to figure out what to do for later tricks. Other than that, They walked home pretty casually after the sparring. Later that night they went and got a special birthday dinner at Red lobster. Jason and Kylee loved that place, for the food was nice and good, and Jason loved seeing the lobsters and the aquariums there. Of course, they refused to have the staff sing for his birthday. Jason and Kylee always hated having the staff sing to them. Then they went back home and watched their new movie. They had a good time laughing together while watching, especially the scene when the band characters are singing "can you picture that" with Kermit and Fozzie sleeping. When it was finished, Jason yawned. He was ready to go to bed. Kylee then picked him up and carried him to his room. As she was tucking him into the bed, he had something to say: "Thank you so much mom. Today was very fun." he sleepily said to her. She smiled and replied to him: "I'm glad you enjoyed it Jason, happy birthday." Jason smiled and hugged his mother. "I love you mom." he said to her. "I love you too Jason," replied Kylee as she tucked him into bed. She then went into her room and lay down onto her bed. She turned out the lights and snuggled up into her pillows. "Mmm, sweet kid." she told herself before she shut her eyes and went to sleep.

Well folks, that's the end of chapter two! I do hope you enjoyed it. I'm sorry this took longer to make but I was on a two day trip so I couldn't really work on it. I am sorry if I botched up how the moves are depicted in the games, I just made up how they would look to me. And no, I don't own any real life properties or brands referenced here, just thought I would use them because they were a part of my childhood. Anyway, thank you for reading and see you next time. -Scrappic496
