"WHERE THE HELL IS OUR AIR SUPPORT" – Colonel Daniels 3rd legion 12th battalion battle of the Iron Sea
7 days post liberation of Shanxi
Full scale war preparations have begun and the UCHW has officially declared war on the Citadel Council. The formal War declaration can be found in the Union Codex.
Shanxi was barely recognizable as the flowering colony it once was bastions of Nydanium doted the landscape fighter squadrons patrolling the skies as munition storage's were built alongside AA defenses and bunkers slowly took shape. Barracks and vehicle garages housing millions of soldiers and tens of thousands of tanks and IFVs, Command stations and Air bases scattered as far as the eye could see. In orbit hundreds of warships massed alongside recently built WarStations. The new Shipyard floated above the planet as Massive capital ships underwent retrofits and full maintenance and on the systems edge ships of all kinds continuously moved in and out of the system by the thousands most of them were transport vessels while others construction ships or escorts.
Unknown to the council races dozens of stealth ships lurked through their territory along with three Submarines. The UCSV Twelve Minutes To Midnight. The Midnight was currently prowling around the serpent nebula watching the ships floating through the void while many other races viewed the Citadel with awe Captain Anderson only felt contempt. None of the races here built the citadel they had merely found it and claimed it as their own they were not powerful or great yet they thought themselves kings of the galaxy as evidenced by enforcing their laws on a sovereign power. They would be shown just what they had angered he thought. "Deploy the buoy" he said. With a nod the Navigation officers began typing on his console. Deep below the midnight a single Buoy detached stealth systems engaging automatically it began copying all the Extranet traffic in the nebula and sending it directly to Sol Command. The Midnight then proceeded to renter the Ether waiting for its next mission.
Over the world of Oma Ker the UCSV Fear of The Dark waited invisible to all around it as it deployed droppods into the atmosphere alongside a meteor shower currently cascading across the planet. Minutes paced as the Pods shock and burned violently through reentry until they slammed into the ground crushing nearby trees and flora with the shockwave produced by the impact. Each capsule opened with a hiss as the internal pressure of the podded met that of the planet. HeadHunters climbed out of their pods Armor automatically mimicking the surrounding environment. Silently they moved to complete their tasks Alpha the one in charge of the team headed to the primary power station for the planets orbital defenses moving as quietly as the void of space he moved towards his target until he reached the outskirts of the compound the small timer on his hud registering three hours left. The sentry on duty paused to take a bite of a snack he had mere seconds of time but all that was needed for the HeadHunter to sneak behind the alien. Closing in on his prey Alpha pulled out his knife and struck like viper his freehand covering the mouth of the alien as he slit its throat waiting the alien thrashed in panic fighting to brake free but slowly its strength vanished as it succumbed to blood loss. After making certain the alien was dead he hauled it into a nearby bush to remain hidden from view before entering the compound. Hacking through the entrance before finally reaching his goal Alpha quickly sealed the door behind him with smooth efficiency. Quietly he moved past the empty reception desk and entered the central hallway.
Alpha scanned the room around him until he heard movement quietly he ducked through an open room staying completely still. When the figures had passed him by he crept from his hiding place pulling out a small laser pistol he fired twice barley a second later the thudding of two corpses echoed through the hallway he moved to inspect the bodies. Was large a little over two meters in height blackish red plates covered the visible portions of the body turning it over he could see pale wight tattoos covering the face in stark contrast with the reddish black plates. The other corpse was a female at least that's what he guessed turning her over he could see she had litter plates then her companion putting his head closer he could hear a heartbeat drawing his gun once more he stopped looking at his scanner it reported to life signatures from the female which meant it was malfunctioning or…. Deciding that she was not a threat either way he moved away from her holstering his gun once more he had a job to do. Moving towards the end of the hallway Alpha could feel he was closing on his objective his timer reading at ten minutes. Soon he reached the central chamber the power plant taking up much of the space moving with practiced precision he placed the Antimatter charge on one of the consoles in the control room before turning around to leave. When he walked through the hallway again he stopped at the female. He knew she would die if he left her the explosion would see to that but could he really leave her should he leave her he was told to leave no trace but should he end the life of an unborn and its mother. The thoughts crowded his head as seconds ticked by until he made his mind. Picking her up and slinging her over his shoulder he carried her out through the entrance and outside placing her on the hard ground just outside the compound. Before he left he stopped to take one last look at the female did he do the right thing he wasn't sure.
