Chloe woke up and couldn't help the smile that grew on her face. She couldn't believe the night she had. Chloe wasn't usually one to believe in love at first sight but the day she met Beca it was like her brain was rewired to think about Beca ninety percent of the time. She still wouldn't say she was in love, but as she watched the brunet sleep she knew she wasn't that far off.

If you asked Chloe, Beca had the most adorable way of sleeping. She would take one long breath in and then she would blow it out in one big huff. And if she could Chloe would lay there forever just watching Beca sleep. Unfortunately she couldn't do that since the alarm clock on the nightstand told her it was time to wake up.

"Beca. Beca sweetie It's time to wake up." All she got from the other girl was a groan. "~Beca~" Chloe sang. That's when she noticed something was different. Usually first thing in the morning is when she notices her nodes the most and it doesn't go away until she has her morning tea. But now her throat felt perfectly normal, something she hadn't felt in months. She placed a hand on her throat and ran through a few vocal exercises. She felt Beca stirring next to her but Chloe was so shocked that she just kept on singing.

"Chlo I know you look like a Disney princess but is there a reason you feel the need to sing like one at this ungodly hour?" Beca grumbled before flipping over and pulled a pillow over her head.

"My nodes are gone." Chloe couldn't believe it, her doctor said that she was going to need surgery but here she was pain free.

Beca lifted her head and gave Chloe a confused look. "What? The way you talked about it made it sound like it was difficult to get rid of."

"It is, my doctor said that to get rid of them I would need to get surgery but my throat feels perfect." Chloe could feel her eyes starting to water and she felt a little ridiculous but this was the happiest day of her life. She turned around and practically attacked Beca's face with her lips.

"Not that I'm complaining but what was that for?" Beca leaned in and gave Chloe a firm kiss before pulling back and giving Chloe a lopsided grin.

"I'm just happy. My throat feels better than it has in months, the Bellas are going to kick aca-ass today and I got a smoking hot girlfriend." Chloe beamed down at Beca and the brunette couldn't help but laugh.

"Girlfriend huh?"

"Oh totes. That is if you want?" Chloe shot Beca a playful wink.

"Oh I want." Beca reached out and grabbed Chloe by the back of the neck and pulled her in for a kiss. Things started to get a little heated but they were interrupted by a knock on the door.

"Yo Shawshank, Ginger! The teacher lady wants us down at the breakfast joint in ten minutes." They heard Amy move away and bang on Aubrey and Stacie's door. The girls quickly got ready and they left the room hand in hand. At the same time Aubrey and Stacie exited their room, Aubrey looked rather flushed and Stacie looked down right giddy.

Chloe eyeballed them with a knowing look, "So what did you two get up to last night?"

If it was possible Aubrey managed to blush even more. "Nothing at all. Why do you ask?"

"Cause you got a little something on your neck there Posen." Beca said while twirling a finger in their direction.

Aubrey's hand flew to her neck and she rounded on the tall brunette. "STACIE! You said you wouldn't leave any marks!" Stacie and Beca devolved into laughter and the blonde turned to the redhead for an explanation.

"They're messing with you Bree your neck is fine. Your cover however, is blown." Chloe couldn't help but chuckle. Aubrey looked between her three "friends" and stormed off.

"I hate all of you!" She shouted at them but was only met with more laughter.

~We might not get tomorrow~

~Let's do it tonight!

The Bellas all hit their final pose and the crowd went wild. Chloe was sure that she had never felt happier in her life. Actually now was the happiest moment in her life since Beca had her arms around Chloe's neck and the two kissed each other right on stage. The other Bellas all cheered and hollered which only doubled when Aubrey followed Beca's lead and pulled Stacie in for a kiss.

They of course won. Stacie and Beca were both pulled into a bear hug by Doctor Conrad who had shown up to see her daughter perform. "You guys were so good! I am very proud."

Beca blushed but Stacie just pulled her mom in for another hug. "Thanks mom, I'm glad you could make it."

"Please kid give me some credit. I wouldn't have missed this for the world. Now introduce me to that blonde girl you were locking lips with." Stacie and her mom moved off to find Aubrey and Beca looked at them with a look of longing.

"What's got you looking all frowny Babe?" Chloe walked up behind Beca and wrapped her arms around her girlfriend.

"Nothing, it's just…I wish my parents could have been here." Beca tried to wipe away a stray tear but Chloe spun her around and pulled her in for a tender kiss.

"I wish I could have met them," Chloe said as she pulled back. "From what you've told me they sound like great people. Especially your mom." She pulled Beca in for a tight hug filled with loving comfort.

Chloe felt Beca nod into her shoulder. "Ya my mom was pretty awesome. She always wanted to help people even in the little things. She always said 'If more people were willing to lend a helping hand then this world wouldn't be nearly as fucked up.'" Chloe leaned back and stared at Beca in confusion. The face she was making must have shown it since the brunette started cracking up. "Yeah that was my mom, she'd try to be all deep and meaningful but would ruin the effect by cursing somewhere near the end. Where do you think I got it from?"

Chloe just laughed and pulled Beca in for another kiss. They met up with the rest of the Bellas outside the stadium and eventually they managed to make their way back to the bus.

Once everyone was on board Mrs. Howard stood at the front and addressed them. "All right ladies, that was great. I am very proud of all of you, keep this up and that national title will be yours." All the girls cheered and Mrs. Howard returned to the driver's seat and started the long drive back to San Francisco.

Chloe was making full use of her miraculously healed throat and was belting out lyrics to any and all songs that the other girls started. She was sitting on Beca's lap which probably wasn't the safest place to sit but the brunette didn't seem to mind.

Slowly the hours passed and the other girls started to pass out. The adrenaline of performing and the subsequent high of victory had worn off and now that everyone's nerves had settled they were all starting to feel the exhaustion. Chloe wasn't that far behind them but as they rounded the next hill she could see the Golden Gate Bridge in the distance. Ever since moving to San Francisco Chloe had wanted to go see the bridge but with school starting and her tight schedule she hadn't been able to yet.

"Hey, Mrs. Howard?"

"Yes Chloe?" the teacher asked over her shoulder.

"Would it be all right if we went over the bridge? I haven't been there yet and always wanted to go." She threw in a small pout that could be seen from the rearview mirror.

Mrs. Howard sighed and looked at the clock. It wouldn't really be that far out of the way and Chloe was very hard to say no to. "I guess."

"Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" Chloe was practically bouncing in her seat which had the unfortunate side effect of waking Beca.

"Would you calm down Beale you're going to break the seat or something." Beca grumbled.

Chloe moved off Beca to sit next to the window and pressed her face against it to get a better view of the bridge. "Beca we're going to go over the Golden Gate Bridge, this is going to be awesome!"

"Really that's what you're excited about? It's just a bridge Chloe."

"It's one of the most iconic bridges in the world and I haven't been there yet." Chloe exclaimed.

Beca gave the redhead a side glance. "Really? You've been living here for months and haven't been yet?"

Chloe turned back to Beca. "I know right, it's weird. I guess I've just never had time to go."

Beca couldn't help but chuckle at her over-exuberant girlfriend, man she loved saying that, and the redheads enthusiasm was spreading to the rest of the girls as they began to wake up. As they got closer Chloe just got more and more excited and eventually they started making their way across. Chloe couldn't believe the view and she grabbed Beca's hand so that the smaller girl could look too.

They were about half way across when she felt the bus lurch to the side and heard the terrible grinding noise of metal against metal. Before anyone could figure out what was going on a massive explosion lifted the bus off the road and the last thing Chloe saw was the bay stretching out below her.

Beca wasn't sure what had happened but her body reacted faster than her mind. She crossed her arms across her chest making an x shape and felt the nanites coming pouring out her back, tearing through her shirt. She controlled the nanites to spread as fast as possible and when she felt them connect to the side of the bridge she command every single nanite to keep the bus from falling into the bay. The nanites did their job, pretty soon there was a massive web hanging from the side of the bridge keeping the bus suspended hundreds of feet in the air.

Beca let out a pained scream as the sudden stop jolted her and the rest of the Bellas out of their seats and bodies went flying all over the bus. Beca was pulled to the back of the bus since while some of the nanites had attached themselves to the bus most of them were still attached to her and now her body was acting as the anchor point for thousands of pounds of dead weight. The pain in her back was unbearable and she struggled to remain conscious. For several minutes all Beca could focus on was keeping the bus from plummeting, eventually she was able to spread the nanites out along the frame so that her body didn't feel like it was being pulled apart from the inside. She commanded the nanobots to form a tether between her and the bus and once that was done she immediately blacked out.

"COME ON BECA WAKE UP!"

Beca's eyes fluttered open and she saw a very concerned looking Stacie staring back at her.

"Oh thank god I thought you were gone." Stacie helped Beca sit up and that's when she noticed they were still suspended in midair.

"How long was I out?" Beca grimace as she asked the question, it felt like her entire body was on fire.

"Only a couple of minutes."

"Where's Chloe?" Beca looked around at the carnage surrounding her. From what she could tell Lilly was the only other person unharmed. CR's leg was broken and Beca almost vomited since she could see a sliver of bone sticking through the skin. Aubrey had some serious cuts down her arm, as did Emily. Amy, Jessica, Ashley and Denise were all breathing but unconscious. Flo appeared to be in better shape, she had a huge bruise on her head and was clutching her shoulder but other than that she seemed fine. Beca kept looking for Chloe and when she saw a flash of red at the front of the bus she couldn't help the sob that came from her throat.

"Beca stop you shouldn't be moving!" Beca climbed down to the front of the bus despite Stacie's protest. She reached her girlfriend and tried to wake her up.

"Chloe. Chloe come on you gotta wake up," Beca grew hysterical with each failed attempt. "CHLOE! WAKE UP!"

Stacie grabbed Beca by the shoulder. "Beca she's gone."

"NO! She can't be gone! She can't leave me too."

"Beca! There's a shard of glass in her heart." Beca looked away from the redhead's face to her body and saw a six inch piece of glass embedded in the heart of the woman she loved. Beca grabbed the glass and pulled it from Chloe's body, cutting her own hands in the process.

"Beca what are you doing!?" Stacie tried to get her friend to stop but Beca pushed her away.

"I can fix her!" Stacie looked at Beca confused.

"What are you talking about? This can't be fixed, she's gone." Stacie didn't like it but she needed to get Beca focused so that the rest of them didn't fall from the sky.

Beca however didn't care what else was happening she was focused solely on saving Chloe. If she could remove Chloe's nodes remotely then why couldn't she fix her heart. Beca placed her hand over the wound in Chloe's chest and willed there to be a way to save her girlfriend.

Only there were no nanites left to respond, Beca had used them all to catch the bus and if she pulled any way she risked killing everyone else. She also knew that her body didn't have the necessary resources needed to save Chloe since there was more than just the heart issue. Chloe's entire body seemed broken, like a toy that had been stepped on. One of her shoulders appeared to be dislocated, her rib cage was noticeably caved in and her left leg was definitely not supposed to be at that angle.

Beca couldn't believe how hopeless and unfair the situation was. If the bus wasn't suspended from a bridge then she could save Chloe but she couldn't risk moving the nanites or they could all die. Beca looked up at Stacie with defeat, she saw that Stacie was trying to hold back tears and Beca was about to give up hope. That is until she looked past Stacie and she felt a small flicker of hope surge through her.
"Beca what are you doing?" Stacie asked as the girl climbed past her to the row of seats just above Stacie's head. Her eyes widened when Beca pulled Fat Amy out of her seat and gently lowered the blonde to lay next to Chloe.

"I need resources." Was all Beca said as she dropped down and laid her left hand on Amy's stomach and her right hand over Chloe's heart. "Sorry Amy but I'm going to have to steal your sexyness."

"Beca there's no way this will work, and even if it could you have to be out of nanites by now." Stacie was on the verge of thinking Beca had lost it.

"Not all of them." With that Beca's legs gave out as the nanites that were keeping her spinal cord intact rushed from her back, down her left arm and into Amy.

The million or so nanites that Beca had at her disposal went into overdrive collecting the abundant fat cells in Amy's body. They carried as much as they could through Beca's body down to her appendix where the nanite making machine began the process of making new ones. Beca pushed her little helpers as hard as she could and eventually new nanites began to appear out of Beca's right hand and moved down into the wound on Chloe's chest.

It took longer than she would have liked but eventually Beca had an entire swarm of nanites converting Chloe's body working their tiny little asses off to repair the damage. Stacie sat back in amazement at what she was seeing. She and her mom had never even considered this an option but here was Beca proving that where there's a will there's a way. Beca meanwhile was desperately trying to keep her mind off the excruciating pain that was coming from her abdomen. The nanite factory was working overtime to produce enough robots to meet demand and Beca could feel the heat it was producing burning her appendix.

All the pain was worth it though as she watched Chloe's leg and arm slowly be put back together.

All the pain was nothing compared to the hope that came with Chloe's ribs being reset and her chest returned to normal.

All the pain was worth seeing the wound over Chloe's heart being stitched back together and watching and the redhead took in a shuddering breath.

Beca let out a relieved laugh as she saw Chloe's chest rise and fall. And she couldn't help the tears that fell when she felt the heartbeat against her fingertips. "Oh my god."

Beca looked up to see that all the conscious Bellas were staring at her in awe. Except for Lilly who was busy tending to CR's wounds. After another minute of letting the nanites fix Chloe, Beca refixed her own spine and stood up. She climbed to where CR was cringing at the pain as Flo tried to tie one of their spare shirts into a tourniquet. Beca placed her hand on Cynthia's leg and the nanites moved to do their job. This was a bit trickier since half way through the process Stacie and Lilly had to reset CR's bone to the right place. But soon enough there wasn't even a scar left and CR looked at Beca in awe.

Beca made her way around the other Bellas and did her best to fix the cuts and lacerations that they had sustained. Eventually she made her way back to Chloe. The redhead was still unconscious but she was breathing regularly and Beca couldn't believe how close she had come to losing the girl of her dreams.

"You're going to alright Chloe I promise." Beca leaned forward and kissed Chloe's forehead. Aubrey knelt down next to Beca and promised to look after the girl. Beca nodded and stood up, she grabbed the tether still connecting her to the nanites holding the bus. Slowly but surely they began to rise up and eventually Beca felt the back tires hit the side of the bridge. She maneuvered the bus back onto solid ground using the nanites and then willed them all to return to her body.

She willed her armor to form around her before opening the doors to the bus and calmly stepping out onto the bridge. The scene before her was one of utter chaos. Car's were flipped over, some were on fire, and there were dozens of people running around like chickens with their heads cut off.

But there was one person who was just standing still, staring at her. Even from a distance she could make out the shifting red nanites that covered his skin. Beca took a step towards him, then another and another until she was only about twenty feet away.

"You know if you wanted to fight me all you had to do was ask. No need to be a dick about it." Beca was just barely managing to keep her rage controlled. This asshole had nearly killed Chloe, the only thoughts running through her head were ones about how many different ways she could make him pay.

"I'm honestly surprised you managed to survive." His voice sounded like a swarm of bees and whereas the last time Beca heard it the sound had terrified her now it was just pissing her off.

"Oh I think you'll find it'll take a lot more than that to kill me." Beca said as she formed a sword in her left hand and took a ready stance.

"Well then. Shall we?" the thing asked. Beca just shrugged before charging, her blade pointed straight at the monster's heart.

We're in the endgame now.

Sorry couldn't help it.
