What if Deku...
Chapter ten: Living on the Ritz
The audience that had been summoned to the theater room by Talespinner69 had just finished up watching the latest realm that featured an alternative version of everyone's favorite green bean, Izuku Midoriya. The reactions were mixed, with some liking the realm while Monoma was rather unamused by how he was killed off multiple realms in a row.
"First time?" Mineta asked Monoma in a wry, knowing tone.
"Hot damn, that was an awesome version of Deku," Bakugo remarked, "I never thought that he could actually pull off being badass. And yet here I sit, corrected."
Sighing in a mildly exasperated tone, Mitsuki's mom said, "You know Katsuki, you really ought to be nicer to Inko's son. He's a good kid."
"Actually, the blasty boy has a point on how Green Bean was kickass in that realm," Mirko stated, "Killing demons like it was his casual weekend activity. If Green Bean were like that for real, hell, I would seriously consider getting him as an intern."
Ryukyu could only gently shake her head as she gave a resigned sigh. "Of course you'd be like that, Mirko."
Izuku, who had an embarrassed look on his face, held up a hand. "Umm, excuse me, but would it be in the realm of possibility to pull up a realm that has a nicer version of me than the one we had seen just now?"
Shrugging, Tale replied, "Sorry, but the remote is set to pull realms up randomly. I have as much control over what realms are pulled up as I do over the state of the budget."
"What budget?" Mina asked in a confused tone.
Gently shaking his head, Kotaro said, "That doesn't matter. What does matter is that the next realm is ready to play."
"Come on, more badass Green Bean!" Mirko said as she and everyone else in the audience turned to look front and center at the big theater screen.
Sighing, Ryukyu said, "I wouldn't mind one who is more tame in personality, if I'm to be honest."
...
Kaminari slowly woke up in the back of whatever vehicle he was traveling in. Coming to, he propped himself up and looked around, seeing that Bakugo, Kirishima, Sero, Izuku, Todoroki, and Tenya were all sitting around as well. "...Where are we going?" Kaminari asked.
"About damn time you woke up," Bakugo said indifferently.
Sighing, Izuku said, "Sorry about Kacchan's attitude, Kaminari. To answer your question, we're on our way to my place."
"So all of us guys are heading over to Izuku's place," Kaminari in the audience said, "Interesting."
"Yeah, but my mom and I live in an apartment," Izuku pointed out, "It will be cramped with six guests all in there."
Folding his arms over his chest, Bakugo said, "There better be a good explanation for why I'm riding with Deku in this realm."
As Kaminari nodded in understanding, the vehicle came to a stop. Looking out the window, he saw a large and opulent mansion. "Why are we stopping off at Yaoyorozu's place?" Kaminari asked, then when he looked around he saw that everyone was riding in a limo. "And did she let us borrow one of her family's limos?"
Scoffing in annoyance, Bakugo said, "No, you dolt. This is all Izuku's family's stuff. We just got here." A butler then came out and greeted everyone while respectfully referring to Izuku as sir.
(What if Deku had Yaoyorozu-level wealth)
"So the boy is as rich as that one girl, huh?" Gran Torino in the audience remarked, "Well now, this ought to be interesting."
"Why am I being used as a unit of measurement to determine how rich a person is?" Yaoyorozu asked.
Shrugging, Tale replied, "It's more common of an occurrence than you may think."
...
Inside of the Midoriya mansion, the guys were sitting around a large table for dining at. "Wait a minute," Kaminari said, "Since when was Izuku loaded?"
"Uhh, since like always," Bakugo replied, as if the answer was obvious.
"But Kaminari has a point," Sero began, "I mean, Izuku's made no indication until now that he's been right in the top percent of the top percent."
Squirming a bit in his seat out of embarrassment, Izuku said, "Umm, actually I did. Back when we had that dorm room contest, I said that I didn't think that I'd be able to fit all of my All Might merchandise in my dorm room."
Turning to look at Izuku, Kaminari said, "Yeah, but I assumed that was due to you being an All Might fanboy, thus you'd naturally have loads of All Might merch."
"Regardless of realm, Izuku still idolizes All Might," Mina in the audience said with a cute giggle, "That is kind of funny in a cute way."
"And given that this is Izuku we're talking about," Kaminari remarked, "It'd make sense that I'd draw the conclusion that I did."
Where Aizawa sat in the audience, he folded his arms over his chest. "I hope Midoriya doesn't go wild with his wealth here. Yaoyorozu sort of has that problem to an extent."
Yaoyorozu looked as if she were about to speak up, but she was shut down by Mina. "Ha ha, yes you do," the pink-skinned girl said to the wealthy girl.
Nodding in understanding to Kaminari, Bakugo replied, "Yeah, that too." Gesturing to the room around them, Bakugo replied, "But it's also connected to how Izuku is as loaded as Ponytail."
Turning to look at Izuku, Tenya asked, "So tell us, why did you bring all of us here? I assume that the reason is good."
Izuku sighed in a troubled tone. "The...the truth is that I'm actually in love with one of the girls in class, and I don't want Mineta butting in because he's a raging pervert who would most likely ruin whatever efforts I make due solely to having a manhood-shaped brain."
A lot of the audience burst out laughing at what rich Izuku said on the big theater screen, while Mineta sulked in his seat out of self-disappointment. "Yeah, the little prick had it coming," Stain said from where he sat in the audience.
"Ah, so we're like your war counsel to help you win the battle that is love," Todoroki remarked.
Nodding in the affirmative, Izuku said, "Yeah, basically."
Sero, with a wry look on his face, said, "So tell us, our good dude. Who's the lucky girl?"
"Umm, it's, umm..." Izuku blushed heavily with embarrassment as he thought about the girl who had stolen his heart. "...It's Uraraka."
"I knew it!" Bakugo in the audience exclaimed, pumping both fists into the air, "I knew it! Deku still has the hots for Round Face!"
"And this version of Izuku is as loaded as Yaoyorozu!" Mina commented, "Uraraka is even more lucky than normal!"
"Shut up!" Uraraka said in embarrassment, blushing heavily.
Smirking a bit in amusement, Kirishima said, "There's nothing to be embarrassed about, dude. She's a good girl. You chose well."
"And us, as your war counsel of love, will do all within our power to help you get the girl," Sero went on, "Even if it means we have to arrange for our classmate Mineta to have a less than pleasant encounter in order to keep him from sticking his head in our business."
"Why would you do that, Sero?!" Mineta in the audience exclaimed.
Smirking, Bakugo replied, "Because he's trying to be helpful."
"He ain't being helpful to me!" Mineta shouted.
"Who ever said that he had to be helpful to you?" Dabi replied, clearly amused by the show.
Izuku was touched by the sincerity the other guys were showing him. "Thanks, everyone."
"No problem, Midori-bro," Kirishima replied.
"And I know just what we can do to help you win Uraraka over," Kaminari stated.
"Tell her that Izuku is as rich as Yaomomo?" Hagakure in the audience suggested, "I mean that will probably help ease the Uraraka of this realm into the idea of dating this realm's Izuku, especially if she's as poor as our Uraraka."
"Not helping, Hagakure!" Uraraka complained in an annoyed tone.
...
That night at the UA dorms, Uraraka was in her dorm room, which accurately reflected how lower class she was. As she was going over some work from a class, she heard a tap on her sliding glass door that sounded like a small rock was tossed against it. Getting up to go and investigate things, Uraraka opened her curtains and then the door to step out.
When she looked down, she saw Izuku, Todoroki, Tenya, Bakugo, Sero, Kaminari, and Kirishima all in mariachi outfits and carrying musical instruments. Seeing that they now had Uraraka's attention, the boys began to play serenading mariachi music, with Izuku singing as he played an acoustic guitar while the other boys all played trumpets.
"Kaminari's idea is to have Izuku serenade Uraraka with mariachi music?" Kyoka in the audience said in a confused tone.
Shrugging, Mina said, "Hey, any guy who brings an entire mariachi band to perform outside the window of a girl he wants to win over is obviously trying to play big moves."
"Umm, what are you guys all doing?" Uraraka asked, sounding confused.
Immediately, the boys all stopped playing. "Look Round Face, here's the deal," Bakugo said, "Deku has it bad for you, and he wanted to try to get you to like him back. We're just his backup performers in the band."
"Why mariachi, though?" Uraraka asked.
"It was my idea," Kaminari replied, "I thought it would be exotic enough to help add to the appeal factor of what Izuku wanted to go for."
Looking a bit confused, Uraraka said, "Umm, mariachi is rather out of place in Japan, to be all that honest." Smiling a bit, she went on, "But I do appreciate the effort."
Blushint a little, Uraraka in the audience said, "Yeah, I would appreciate the effort."
"And even Baku-bro is agreeable to help out here," Kirishima remarked, "You don't see that everyday when it comes to helping Midori-bro."
"Shove it," Bakugo growled in an annoyed tone.
Looking up at Uraraka, Izuku asked in a clearly embarrassed manner, "So, umm, Uraraka, would you like, umm, to go out with me?"
Similarly as embarrassed, Uraraka replied, "To be completely honest, I actually do really like you, Izuku. I just can't believe you'd actually want to go out with me."
"Nonsense!" Izuku declared, "You're bar none the best girl out there! Why wouldn't I like you?"
As Izuku and Uraraka were explaining to one another how they liked each other, Bakugo wasn't able to help but smirk in amusement. "Heh, I figured this would happen."
"Aww, that is so sweet!" Mina in the audience cheered, "They're an item now!"
Turning to look at Izuku, Mirko said, "Oi Green Bean, you better treat Ryukyu's girl right, ya hear?"
Rolling her eyes, Ryukyu said, "She's my intern, not my kid." Smiling a bit, Ryukyu went on, "But I do think it's cute that Uraraka's found love."
Bakugo chuckled to himself as he said, "Well I can't wait to see how Round Face dating rich Deku will end up going."
...
The following day, Izuku and Uraraka had their first date as an official couple. They passed a crepe stand where Izuku got the biggest and most expensive crepe for Uraraka. The lower class girl took note of it, amazed that someone was willing to spend that much on her. It made her a little embarrassed, but she remembered what Mina said about boys trying to get girls to continue liking them, and brushed it off as Izuku trying to lay on the charm.
After that, they went to see an anime movie that was in theaters at the moment. It was the movie where three demon slaying teen boys got on a train to meet a higher ranked guy in their organization to help him with a train demon case. "I still can't believe that ending," Uraraka said as she and Izuku left the theater, "It was so sad."
Izuku nodded in agreement, although to be completely honest he was actually rather surprised with how little Uraraka had asked him to get for her when he had offered to get her some snacks for her to munch on during the movie. He could have easily gotten her enough for the two of them combined to barely manage carrying, but she very clearly didn't want to be all that much of a burden him.
"Probably because she's not aware that she's hit the jackpot," Hagakure in the audience said, with Mina nodding in agreement.
"Stop it!" Uraraka cried out in embarrassment.
Similarly, Izuku was also embarrassed. "Yeah, please quit teasing us, Hagakure and Mina."
...
After a fun filled day, Izuku and Uraraka were ready to pack it in, but Uraraka said, "Oh Izuku, I want to bring you by where my family lives so I can introduce you to my parents."
"Yeah, I'm going to want to bring you by my place soon as well," Izuku replied as he and Uraraka turned a corner to get to where Uraraka lived. When they did, however, they saw that Uraraka's mom and dad were talking to a guy from the bank.
"Oh come on, we're still supposed to be good for another month!" Uraraka's dad said.
Shrugging, the bank guy replied, "Yeah, you said that the last three times I came here."
"Smells like trouble," Nejire in the audience said in a concerned tone.
"It's rich boyfriend to the rescue!" Mirko cheered.
Turning to look at Mirko, Ryukyu said, "You're worse than the pink girl and the invisible girl."
When Uraraka and Izuku came running over, Uraraka asked in a worried tone, "Mom, dad, what's going on?"
Sighing in a resigned tone, Uraraka's dad explained, "Sweetie, I'm really sorry to have to say this, but we're losing our business."
"What?!" Uraraka exclaimed, sounding shocked.
Nodding grimly, Uraraka's mom explained, "Yeah, we can't afford the monthly payments anymore, so now we're-"
"Alright, that has all debts paid in full," the bank guy said, cutting Uraraka's mom off and making them all turn to see the bank guy talking to Izuku, who had just put a card back into his wallet and then put his wallet away. To the Uraraka family, the bank guy said, "Yeah, Green Bean here just paid off all of the debts you owed. You guys are all cleared now."
"Nothing says to a girl 'I love you' better than paying off all of her family's various debts," Mina in the audience said in an amuse tone.
"That...that's pretty big of Izuku to do," Uraraka remarked, sounding a bit embarrassed.
"But Deku loves you, Round Face," Bakugo began pointing out, "And this version has as much cash as Ponytail, so it wouldn't be much for him."
Smirking in amusement, Hizashi said, "Hoo boy, if someone covered my debts like that, I'd let them put a ring on my finger."
After the bank guy took off, Uraraka and her parents turned to look at Izuku. "I-Izuku," Uraraka began in a surprised stammer, "Do you know how much you just spent?"
"Umm, you and your parents ought to come see where my family and I live," Izuku replied.
...
Izuku stood outside of the large mansion where he lived, with Uraraka and her parents standing next to him. "Yeah, this is home," Izuku explained, a bit embarrassed, as he gestured to the mansion.
"Oh Izuku!" Uraraka's mom said as she threw her arms around Izuku and wrapped him up in a hug, "You're the best son-in-law that a woman could ask for!"
"Mom!" Uraraka exclaimed in embarrassment.
"Yeah, I would be embarrassed if my mom was that bold," Uraraka in the audience admitted.
"But you got to admit," Mina began, "Izuku being the way that he always is, plus being as loaded as Yaomomo, makes him pretty much the boy that any girl would want!"
Stroking his chin, Hizashi said, "Hmm, I wonder if the me in this realm is in the market for a teacher's pet at the moment."
Turning to look at Hizashi, Aizawa said in a dry tone, "Wow, Hizashi."
...
The next day at UA, everyone in class 1-A heard how Izuku and Uraraka are now dating, also how Izuku had pretty much bailed Uraraka's family out of everything. "I didn't know that you're as rich as Yaoyorozu," Aoyama remarked, "How come you never brought it up?"
"I did during the dorm room contest when I said I doubt I could fit all of my All Might merch in my dorm room," Izuku pointed out.
"We thought you said that because you're a major All Might fanboy and thus would naturally have a lot of All Might merch," Sato said.
Nodding in agreement, Izuku said, "Yeah, that too."
"If Izuku really was as rich as I am," Yaoyorozu in the audience began, "And that really was the only indication that he gave to his family's financial status, then a lot of us would probably draw the same conclusions for real."
Nodding in agreement, Hizashi said, "By the way, I still think it's cheat that Sato won because he bribed the girls with cake."
"Next time, no cake bribes!" Dark Shadow declared, "Although if he can pull off good burritos then he'll get my vote."
"No, Dark Shadow," Tokoyami lightly scolded.
"It's every girl's dream, being rescued from the projects by a cute and sweet guy from the same class as Yaoyorozu," Hagakure said, "It's like a fairy tale that has come true, and Uraraka's the princess of the story!"
"You think we can get Nezu to be Uraraka's talking animal sidekick?" Hizashi suggested since he was in the room at the time.
Gently shaking his head, Aizawa remarked, "Hizashi, that's just dumb. Not to mention how Nezu would probably get a bit upset if you brought that idea up."
"Actually I would just laugh it off," Nezu in the audience said, "I do have a sense of humor. But I can see why the Aizawa in this realm would be worried."
Sighing, Aizawa said, "Hizashi seems to be reckless in a lot of these realms."
As everyone was talking, Mineta entered the room. "Hey, what's going on?" Mineta asked.
"Oh, Deku and Round Face are an item now," Bakugo replied.
"I still didn't get a girl but Midoriya did?!" Mineta complained. Immediately assuming a flirtatious tone, Mineta said, "Hey Uraraka, if you ever get tired of Midoriya, you know where to find me, alright?"
"Uhhgh, when will you-" Uraraka began snapping at Mineta, but Izuku got her to stop with a pat on her shoulder.
Putting his mouth close to Uraraka's ear, Izuku whispered to her with a hint of knowingness in his tone, "Would you like to see me flaunt my wealth, Uraraka?"
"Oh ho ho, this ought to be good!" Mirko in the audience said.
Shuddering, Mineta remarked, "Why do I get a dreading feeling?"
"Because you're a little creep, that's why," Kyoka said bitterly in an annoyed tone.
Curious, Uraraka nodded in agreement. Izuku then snapped his fingers, and suddenly two men dressed in suits and wearing sunglasses appeared behind Mineta and picked him up by his biceps, carrying him out of the 1-A classroom as his legs kicked in the air. "We still need him to be alive," Izuku said as the men took Mineta out of the room, "But make sure he still gets the point I want to get across, okay?"
The men both nodded right before stepping out out of the classroom. Then, a few seconds later, the sounds of Mineta getting beaten up could be heard, coupled with Mineta crying out in extreme pain. Getting Yaoyorozu's attention, Mina asked her, "How come you never thought about doing that to deal with the creep?"
"To be honest," Yaoyorozu began, "I literally didn't think about it until just now."
Looking to were Izuku stood with Uraraka, Hizashi began, "So, umm, Midoriya, you know how some teachers have teacher's pets, right?"
FIN
"Boom! Called it!" Hizashi exclaimed.
Aizawa simply shook his head as he said, "I still can't believe you sometimes, Hizashi."
"Umm, it was really nice to see Izuku help me like that," Uraraka said, "But regardless I actually still like him, given that he's a genuinely nice and sweet guy for real."
"But the money helps," Mina said.
Rolling her eyes dryly, Uraraka retorted, "He doesn't need to be as rich as Yaoyorozu to make me like him, Mina."
Over where he sat, Izuku was blushing heavily with embarrassment. "She...she would actually give me a chance?"
END OF CHAPTER
Author's notes;
This was another idea for an alternate Deku I had in mind. I got a few others in mind that I would like to give a spin to, but they require some brainstorming. They may take a while, which is why I'm glad I got this story up to an even ten chapters.
While I think about those ideas, as well as others for Entreri Gaiden and Heroic Figures (both of those will have structured ends unlike this story and other reaction stories that are pretty much open ended), I will be working on another reaction story that, like the Aizawa one, will have a set number of chapters and will assuredly have an end.
I'm seeing thirteen chapters, plus three (possible) bonus chapters tops, so it'll be shorter than the Aizawa story either way. Hopefully it will get at least a few laughs.
