He's quiet for the rest of the evening.
Sitting around the outdoor fire, Kagome frowns, barely hearing what Sango tries to tell her. Her focus is up the hill where Sesshoumaru sits by himself. Around her, her friends laugh and joke, but she's swallowed by the silent tension that snakes down the hill and wonders at his request for solitude.
Poking at the fire with a stick, her frown deepens.
Rin crawls into her lap, pulling her from her thoughts.
"Do you feel it?" the girl asks, sighing contently.
"What's that?"
Rin's smile dazzles in the firelight. "He's changing again."
