Inuyasha's eyes widen.
He stares, and it's hard to breathe. Eyes so much like his own stare back mere inches away, and he wants to retreat, but he can't move. Shockingly, unbelievingly, the malice is gone, and in its place is something he never expected to see.
Acceptance.
Inuyasha swallows, warily watching his brother as the daiyoukai straightens and sits back.
Sesshoumaru says nothing.
Suddenly, it's too much. The desire to be alone nearly swallows him, and Inuyasha stands, shaking his head. "I gotta—" His words choke off, and he doesn't finish.
He flees, silence lingering in his wake.
