Time to resolve doubts, or, at least, try, fine.

Emm I know two Alucards, Castlevania and Hellsing, which one are you talking about?.

On the other hand, yes, I can see your reasoning..

NecrorexSparda.

Yes and no, Jason will not become Ethan, and he will not replace him, more or less... In some things yes, in others not. Is it more like a prop? He he.

Silvanna Nightlight.

Thank you very much for your continued support, greetings.

Putting that aside..

For many, many reasons, this chapter is my personal favorite, and as such, I hope you like it.

Without further ado, greetings.

It was a strangely summer day in the village, and Jason with the money from work had decided to give something to Alcina's daughters. For that purpose he went to the duke.

-"So, what can I do for you, young man?". Asked the fat man in front of him.

-"I am looking for a gift. Something for Lady Dimitrescu's daughters".

-"If you allow me to recommend something. I wouldn't pass this up if I were you". Replied the Duke, showing him three pendants with the coat of arms of the House of Dimitrescu, and a different colored gem in the middle.

-"He assured you that it would please not only the young ladies, but Lady Dimitrescu as well".

-"With that you convinced me". Jason replied with a smile.

-"You are extremely good at this". He instantly added flatteringly.

-"Oh, thank you Mr. Jason. But that, is my job, to be of service to my buyers".

-"Ahh, and before I forget. One more thing. Every color has a slight significance".

The Duke looked at him waiting for his okay to proceed to tell him. Seeing that he didn't dismiss it, he decided to continue.

-"Green represents youth, freedom, freshness, growth and hope". He began, touching the pendant of that color.

-"Yellow represents energy, fun, curiosity and vitality".

-"And finally, the red represents passion, courage, strength, fortitude, strength and love". He finished, handing her the three pendants.

-"Good. Thank you Duke. How much would that be?".

-"Oh no, Mr. Jason, it's on me. Take it as a favor I was doing what Mother Miranda has done for me". Jason raised an eyebrow, but let it go.

Young Jason kept thinking about the meaning of each color all the way to the castle.

Daniela was not only the youngest, but she was also the one who enjoyed her freedom the most, being the most rebellious she spent her time hanging around the castle.

Cassandra, on the other hand, was extremely curious and fun, but also somewhat grumpy and playful at times, always ending up joining her younger sister, making Jason and Bela grow gray hair.

Bela, being the oldest, was the one who had her feet on the ground, intelligent, but strong at the same time, she was the calmest of the three, and who commanded and challenged her sisters.

Yes, I know which one will be for each of them. Jason finally resolved.

Finally he knocked on the big door of the castle, being immediately greeted by three young girls too happy for his visit.

-"Jason!". Daniela shouted excitedly, as she closed the distance by hugging him.

Cassandra approached as well, and that was enough to end up being pulled in by Daniela, joining the already group hug.

While the remaining sister just stood watching with a slight cheerful grimace, her sisters were absolutely something else.

-"There, there. Girls". Jason asked, feeling out of breath from the embrace of the young women.

-"Knock it off sisters, you don't want the thing man to die!". Bela exclaimed with an amused smile.

-"Hey!". Jason complained, raising an eyebrow.

-"Don't listen to her Jason, she's just jealous". Daniela said, teasing her older sister.

-"Yes. Come on Jason, mother was just about to read us a story!". Cassandra exclaimed, dragging him with her, seeing Jason resisting, a frown appeared on her face.

-"Wait". He asked.

-"What's wrong?". Bela inquired a little worriedly.

-"Nothing wrong". Jason immediately reassured her.

-"I brought a gift. More like three gifts". Finished with a smile.

Daniela being the most hyperactive one was ready to rush towards him, but Cassandra grabbed her by the shoulder in time.

She couldn't hold on for long either, she was too curious about what Jason had brought them.

-"Well?". Bela asked in a hard voice, hiding her inner happiness.

Jason grimaced a little, but pulled out what he had in his pocket anyway.

-"Daniela. Come closer". He asked, while holding a pendant in his hand.

The redhead did so, her eyes exulting with joy, she almost never received gifts, and when she did, they were only from her mother.

-"That, is that for me?". She asked, finally looking at what Jason was holding.

-"Of course it is, Dany". Jason smiled warmly at her.

-"Now, turn around, miss".

Immediately the young woman did as he said, and only a few seconds later, she was wearing a pendant with her house symbol, and a green colored gem in the middle.

-"What do you think?".

-"The green one..".

-"Oh yes. I almost forgot. It's green because it's the color that clearly represents who you are. Young, free, and constantly growing".

-"Constantly growing... Really Jason?". Cassandra scoffed, and Bela joined in.

-"Young and free he may be, but the rest? Come on Jason, you know she'll never grow up, how many times have we challenged her and she doesn't listen?".

But the redhead thought otherwise.

-"I love it. Thank you Jason". She thanked him, hugging him tightly.

Once they parted, the young woman joined the rest of her sisters, very expectant of what Jason thought of them.

-"Cassie".

-"Don't call me that". Grumbled the chesnut, moving closer to him.

-"She loves it when you call her that". Daniela whispered softly, but the chestnut had heard her.

-"Hush". Cassandra tried to glare murderously at her, but ended up failing miserably, as her cheeks were red with embarrassment.

-"Come on. Behave yourselves". Bela grunted, slightly annoyed with the new information.

-"Fine". Daniela agreed, grumbling quietly.

-"So.. Cassie". Jason spoke, deliberately accentuating the name.

-"Don't tease". Cassandra attacked.

-"Oh come on, you can get away with it. And I can't?". Jason asked indignantly.

-"I agree. Now we'll have something to tease each other with". Bela joined in, with a smile.

Cassandra looked at them furiously, until Jason put his arm gently on her shoulder, immediately reassuring her.

-"May I continue?". The young man asked, looking at the other two sisters.

Seeing that they had remained silent, he proceeded with his own.

Cassandra immediately felt the new presence on her neck, the cold metal sending a slight shiver down her spine.

That aside, she couldn't help but touch the yellow gem, wondering why it was that color.

She was so lost in it, she never noticed Jason standing in front of her, with a cheerful smile.

-"Because of your innate curiosity, because of the fun you ooze around you with your pranks and your fights, and because of the energy you possess, I chose yellow for you, Cassandra".

-"I hope. I hope you like it".

Cassandra was mildly surprised, and pleasantly grateful, all Jason thought of her, were good things.

-"Yes. I like it. Thank you Jason". She finally said, regaining her voice.

-"But don't expect another hug from me". She added with amusement.

-"I wouldn't expect anything less from you. Cassie". Jason decided to scoff.

-"I hate you". Replied the chesnut, joining her sisters.

As soon as he arrived, Daniela tapped him on the shoulder, calling his attention, so that he would observe a notoriously nervous Bela.

And that was something that didn't happen every day, the tough and calm Bela was nervous.

-"What's the matter, sister, are you nervous?". Cassandra decided to play with her, earning a giggle from Daniela.

-"Don't you dare". Warned the blonde from her place.

-"Girls". Jason asked.

-"Please. Bela". He added, addressing the older one.

Cassandra was right, Bela was indeed nervous, it was her turn, at last she would at least have an idea of what Jason thought or believed about her.

She owed him everything.

He had rescued them and their mother from certain death, and not only was she extremely grateful for that, for all he had done for her and her sisters.

But she also felt a fondness for him that she was sure was not a sisterly thing, as she knew her sisters and even her mother felt for him.

To Daniela and Cassandra, Jason was an older brother or even a cousin of sorts, and to mother he was like a great friend, even a part of the family.

But to her, to Bela, Jason meant much more.

She always felt they were very close, he, along with her mother were the only ones who understood and encouraged her interests and hobbies extremely ambiguous to her other two sisters.

Bela would spend long hours in her mother's large library, often with the pleasant company of Jason, or sometimes even reading to her other sisters, while her mother simply listened attentively, looking at them with affection.

Such were most of her days. Sometimes in complete silence in the library and sometimes roaming the great halls of the castle, chasing after her crazy sisters.

Jason was definitely the person who, when he visited them, would deliberately change things up; whether it was having a long talk with her, challenging Daniela for her antics, or fighting and teasing Cassandra.

It was for this reason, and even more, that she was totally nervous about knowing what he thought of her.

Jason, despite being someone truly friendly and caring, never talked much about himself, let alone what he thought of others, he was someone extremely reserved in that regard.

-"Bela? Are you all right?". A very familiar voice asked worriedly in front of her, and the blonde woke up from her brief reverie, very often, she was lost in her thoughts.

-"Yes".

-"Well, could you turn around?". He asked dutifully.

-"Yeah, sure". Replied the blonde, complying with his request.

Her hands are cold. It was the first thought that crossed Bela's mind.

-"Red". Jason exclaimed, already in front of her again.

-"For the strength, and fortitude you possess above all else. The courage to try and manage to keep those two at bay". He continued, pointing to his two sisters.

-"And above all Bela, the love and passion you feel for your sisters and your mother". Finished, giving her a big smile.

The blonde suddenly felt as if she was an open book, totally uncovered. Yes, she knew he knew her the most, but she never believed that much, let alone to that level.

-"Thank you". She said, when she could finally regain her senses, as she was about to hug him.

-"Thank you so much Jason". She added, with her eyes closed, still unwilling to part from his loving embrace.

Daniela and Cassandra from their place, just smiled happily at the sight in front of them.

Cassandra was bored and angry.

-"Let's do this". Jason offered, noticing her problem.

-"I'm hiding, and you're looking for me".

-"I think it's pathetic". Said the young woman next to him reluctantly.

-"Come on Cassie. For me". Jason pleaded.

-"Tell me Cassie again and you'll wish I didn't catch you". The chesnut threatened.

-"Cassie!". Jason shouted, as he ran off.

-"You will be my prey Jason. You don't stand a chance".

An hour later a happy Cassandra, openly laughed at a totally fatigued Jason.

-"That was a lot of fun haha. Mind you, try to hide better next time". The chesnut recommended.

-"Next time?". Jason raised an eyebrow.

-"Yes. This will be our special moment". The brunette's eyes sparkled at that.

-"She refused me". The young man replied with a small smile.

-"What did you say?". Cassandra exclaimed feigning anger.

-"Cassie!". Jason scoffed, bolting upright.

-"Oh Jason, you don't know what you're in for". Cassandra smiled in anticipation.

-"You're MY prey! And you won't get away!". She shouted, just before turning into a swarm of flies and chasing after him.

Jason was chasing Daniela, since the latter had played a joke on him and Bela; while he was taking care of the youngest of the sisters, Bela was looking for Cassandra.

A piercing scream was heard in the corridors, and Jason hurriedly managed to reach the place.

In front of him was a unique yet heartbreaking scene, Daniela lay on the floor, shaking like a leaf, as she stared at her bloody hand.

But that was not all, for a maid lay unconscious on the floor, her face with a large mark from side to side, as if she had been cut by a long knife.

-"Cover her up. Cover her up please Jason". The redhead begged.

And just there, Jason noticed the open window to his right.

Recovering his notorious surprise, he proceeded to close the window, and made his way to the unconscious servant.

He slowly lifted her up, and made his way as quickly as possible to the kitchen, where the other servants would surely be.

-"Please. Find a doctor, and save her". He urged the first person he saw in the kitchen, with clear concern in his voice.

-"Y-yes sir. B-but what happened?". Asked the maid in front of him.

-"He had an accident". Was the only thing Jason answered seriously, just before disappearing.

Once he returned to the room, Jason found everything the same, even the trembling Daniela was still on the floor.

-"I.. I.. I didn't mean to... I'm sorry...". The redhead cried at what she had done, staring at something on the floor and becoming self-absorbed.

Jason followed the sweep of her gaze, coming across the culprit of the wound on the maid. A bloody sickle. One of the three that hung on the walls of that room, Jason remembered.

Diverting his gaze to where it should be, he was not at all surprised, noticing that justly, one was missing.

-"I don't want to... Die. Jason". He added with a trembling voice.

-"And you won't". Jason assured her, pulling her closer to him.

While he embraced her affectionately, he spoke to her softly, trying to calm the traumatized young woman.

The redhead in a matter of minutes, ended up falling asleep in the young man's arms; and, in that state was found by the matriarch of the family.

-"Jason. What happened here?". She exclaimed, slightly surprised at the spectacle in front of her.

-"Lady Dimitrescu, a new maid, opened one of the windows, and... Daniela was there". She began, and Alcina shuddered, her face growing fierce.

-"She took a bit of the cold air, but-. She's fine, just, slightly traumatized". He reassured her.

-"Who was the culprit?". Alcina snarled, already visibly angry.

Jason snorted, remembering the poor maid's face.

-"Don't worry... Daniela already left a mark on her for life...".

His face grew serious, and he narrowed his eyes at the tall woman in front of him.

-"Still, Alcina, I don't approve. That's not right... Thank goodness... Daniela understood. She, is sorry for her actions".

-"I cannot allow mistakes. What if the rest of the servants discover my daughters' weakness? What forbids them from wanting to murder them?". The tall woman began to pace the place, clearly nervous.

-"It's the first time something like this has happened. Hell Alcina, the servants love them, they have no reason to do them any harm". Jason managed to calm her down.

Alcina allowed him that point. It was true, serving at Dimitrescu Castle was a great place to work, as the servants were treated gently and the pay was good besides.

Lady Dimitrescu had instilled in her daughters to treat people with respect, no matter their rank, highborn or low.

That, was another thing she was grateful to Jason for, her daughters, especially Cassandra and Daniela, despite their very strange and different personalities, had one thing in common, they both had Jason as a big brother figure, someone to follow.

Something completely different was their daughter Bela. Alcina Dimitrescu if there was one thing her age had instilled in her, it was noticing the little things.

Looks of adoration, admiration, and love, was what she saw in her Bela's eyes when Jason was in the same room.

She wasn't averse to love, not at all. The one who was, is Jason, who, for as long as she knew him, knew that his heart already had an owner, but that wasn't the worst thing, no, the worst thing was that its owner was a dead person.

What I had noticed about Jason, was that, despite his extreme kindness and affection that oozed around him, he was a person who was totally oblivious to love. And that was due to one thing, a traumatizing event that occurred as a child.

The death of his little sister, Eva.

From what he had heard from Mother Miranda, Jason adored little Eva, he loved her, and losing her at such a young age had left an empty hole in his heart. He always gave love to others, but he didn't want to receive it, he felt he didn't deserve to be loved.

And that is why Alcina Dimitrescu was worried about her eldest daughter. She would suffer, and so would Jason.

Jason's departure resulted in a complete ordeal for Dimitrescu Castle, and the repercussions of the event lasted for decades.

Alcina Dimitrescu finally stopped trusting people, especially men, and as a kind of revenge of her own she began to massacre them.

The servants were the ones who suffered the most, suddenly feeling how everything had changed for the worse; for the formerly pleasant ladies of the house had become mere monsters, who only wanted to satiate their eternal pain by taking it out on them.

They were mistreated, brutally attacked and tortured, the latter being mostly caused by one person, Cassandra, who had begun to enjoy it too much.

The emptiness that Jason had left in her was brutal, and she had taken it in the worst way.

Even before she began her hunts, as she called them, those who had been lucky enough to survive them agreed on one thing; she always began by saying the following phrase.

You are my prey.

Daniela had not taken it better, Jason was a figure she respected and listened to, he was her example to follow; his departure had made her uncontrollable, she did not follow the rules, she lost her temper at anything, she had literally become an unstable and crazy young woman.

Sometimes in the long nights, when Bela or Cassandra tucked her in, they heard her whispering in her sleep, restless.

-"Why Jason, why did you leave us?".

If there were ever tears involved, none of the sisters would ever tell.

And Bela, well, Bela somehow remained the same, that is, add to that killing people unceremoniously, hating things mans, and always wearing an imperturbable face, completely serious and full of melancholy.

Jason's name had become practically a death sentence. No one would speak his name, he had abandoned them, the person they trusted and believed in the most was gone, from one day to the next.

Years went by, and in the surroundings of Dimitrescu Castle fables and myths began to be heard, trying to give some kind of explanation or sense to the change that had occurred in the castle.

One in particular was the most striking and perhaps the most accurate.

The tale, in a dry and crude manner, told the story of a young man who had grown up with Lady Dimitrescu's daughters and had gained their complete trust.

Only to betray them later. First by falling in love with one of her daughters, only to break her heart, and secondly by trying to assassinate Lady Dimitrescu herself with a strange knife, only narrowly missing.

The elders say that her remains were consumed by Lady Dimitrescu herself, and that her blood still feeds her daughters.

The story, one day, from a hapless and brave man who had dared to enter the castle, reached the ears of Bela, the eldest daughter of Lady Dimitrescu, causing for her own discomfort, accentuating even more the pain still present in her heart.

The last thing the poor man who had dared to find out how true the tale was, heard was a part of the truth.

Something that even from the situation he was in, managed to bring out a slight satisfaction in him, at least he was going to die knowing that the tale had some truth to it.

-"I hate you, Jason!". The blonde exclaimed, in a faint barely audible whisper, just before swinging her sickle across the flesh of her poor victim.

The blood was still pouring down by the time Bela finally let go of the sickle, staying on her knees in a corner.

-"I hate you so much!". She exclaimed, teary-eyed, hugging herself.

Her adored mother appeared an hour later, to find her in the same position, repeating the same phrase, over and over again.

Alcina approached her wretched daughter, her greatest pride, and gently lifted her up, then gave her a hug that expressed all the love she felt for her.

Her little girl, her little Bela.

-"Mom... I hate him... And... And... I miss him, too much". The blonde said, directing her gaze intently towards her mother, expecting her to scold her for just talking about him.

But when she saw her mother's eyes, she saw only one thing, understanding, and also pain.

-"Me too, daughter. Me too". That was all the matriarch of the family muttered.
