Inspired by baileek313's RWBY in My Hero over on AO3. Please go give it a read if you haven't done so already. This is essentially like my GoR series, where characters from a show is born and raised in a different show. In this story, it is the RWBY characters in the world of BnHA. There is gonna be some changes on the characters, such as differences in age, powers, and the like.

Chapter 01: A Simple Dream

Taiyang Xiao Long was tiredly going through some paperwork involving recent crime activities and villain attacks in his room when he heard his door creak open.

"Daddy?" He turns in his swivel chair to see two small girls, holding hands.

"Ruby had a nightmare," the older one, seven years old with blonde hair in pigtails, muttered, the grip on her sister's hand tightening protectively. The smaller girl stood close to her sister, clutching a wolf plush close to herself. Whatever sort of fatigue Tai may be feeling went away at the sight of his youngest daughter needing comfort. He rises from his chair and takes his daughters into his arms. He carries them over to his queen-sized bed and seats them on the orange/yellow comforter before climbing in with them.

Tai lays on his side and places his arms over the girls and pulls them close with his youngest in the middle. "Wanna talk about it, Ruby?" he asked softly.

The five-year-old sniffed. "…Mommy was fighting a big monster…and-and the m-monster killed her. Then, the monster killed you and Uncle Qrow and Uncle Toshi and—"

"Shhhhh," Tai hushed her gently, running his hand through her hair. "It was only a dream, Ruby."

"But…Mommy is dead…I don't want that to happen to you or Uncle Qrow or…"

"Ruby." The little girl glances up at her father. Her silver eyes shimmered like stars through her tears. "Do you remember why your mom was a hero? Why Uncle Qrow and I are heroes? Why All Might is a hero?"

"Ummm…to help people?" Ruby muttered.

Tai smiles at her. "That's right. We wanted to help people. We wanted them to feel safe in a world that can be dark." He moved his hand back to Yang and pulled her and Ruby close again. "And for you kids to not have to be scared." His daughters stared at him, and he could see the look of fear in their eyes. His smile turned slightly sorrowful. "I guess…we failed that last one."

"NO!" the girls exclaimed, nearly making their father jump up like they did.

"You're an awesome hero, Daddy!" Yang declared. "You and Uncle Qrow!"

"And Mr. All Might too!" Ruby said. "Uncle Toshi had told me how Mr. All Might would do his best to preserve the peace with a big smile!" A thought came to her mind. "And…Mommy wanted that person to feel safe, right? She wanted that person to not be scared anymore, right?"

"That's right."

"Then…I wanna do it too! I wanna be a hero so you would feel safe too!"

Tai blinked, almost dumbly, at his youngest daughter's declaration. Then, he smiles again, this time with great pride. "You wanna be a hero?"

Ruby nodded, smiling with eyes bright despite her still present tears.

"I want to help the Symbol of Peace preserve everyone's smile and give people hope! Like what Mommy did!"

Over 150 years ago, a glowing baby was discovered in a hospital of Qing Qing City, China. Not long after, people with extraordinary abilities, called Quirks, started to appear. Soon, the abnormal became the normal as 80% of the world's population have an uncanny ability. This gave rise to villains and heroes. We soon gained a symbol, a Symbol of Peace to keep the peace we always knew…

Rose?

Rose…

"Rose!" a sharp voice startled the girl out of her slumber, even causing her to fall out of her seat. Rounds of laughter roared in the classroom at her blunder. One of the laughing students being an obnoxious brown haired young man. Her portly teacher glares at her. "Since you are done napping, why don't you answer the question on the board?"

Ruby blushed from the snickering and scurried to her feet. She stood at the length of 162 cm, her short hair is black that fades into red towards the tips and her eyes shine a bright silver. She wore her middle school's uniform for girls, a red plaid skirt, stockings of various length – full length in Ruby's case – and a brown jacket with a tan vest and white shirt with a red ribbon tied at the collar. With it, she wore black/red boots. Back on her feet, Ruby focuses her gaze at the question on the blackboard.

'Who coined the term Quirk?'

"U-Um…Though we don't know her actual name, the Mother of Quirks was the first person to use the word to describe our powers when a mob of people tried to take her child away," Ruby answered.

The teacher stared at her pointedly before smiling beneath his mustache. "Good," he said. "You may sit back down, Rose. And please stay awake this time. If you wish to follow the path of herodom, then you must be vigilant! You are just one year away, so please bear with it and behave. Understand?"

"Yes, Mr. Port," Ruby said and sat down at her desk.

"Good. As I was saying—" It didn't take long for Ruby to tune the teacher out again. Most of the things he says are rambles anyways. It's better to just read the books. She glances outside, looking at the blooming cherry blossoms, indicators that it is spring and in April. Which means Ruby is going to have to wait for a whole school year before she could attend one of Japan's greatest schools for young heroes…

A piece of paper hits her in the back of her head. Ruby looks down to see it folded into a triangle, likely used for paper football. She bends down to pick it up and smooths it out on her desk. On it was written in, admittedly, less than stellar handwriting 'Ruby Slows' and a crude drawing of her. Really just a stick figure. She blinks at it, unamused. She turns to the brown-haired guy from before seating behind her and snickering. Three other boys quietly chortled too.

Ruby rolls her silver eyes and faces forward again. She notices something new on her desk. It was another slip of paper, though neatly folded. She opens it to reveal another drawing of her, though more nicely drawn. She has a cape on and above her were the words 'Future Hero'. Ruby smiles at it. She glances at the corner of her eye at the artist responsible. Sitting next to her is a tall blonde with blue eyes. He returns a smile of his own to her.

They look forward, now paying more attention to their teacher's rambling.

Lunch has arrived for the students of Shingō Middle School. Ruby, with her homemade bento in hand, excitedly headed for her usual spot to eat. So excited even that she speeded down the hall with her Quirk, dashing in a swirl of red and rose petals.

She was then stopped by one of her teacher's using their finger as a lasso to snag her around her waist.

"No Quirk use in the school, Ms. Rose!" the teacher scolded.

She grinned shamefully. "Sorry!"

[Ruby Rose! Her Quirk: Petal Burst! She can disassemble herself at a molecular level and reassemble at will. The red rose petals that follow suit are just a side effect of her Quirk. Not exactly useful for stealth if you leave behind a petal trail like a flower girl]

Ruby chuckled nervously as she scratched the back of her head. "I guess I got too excited…again."

The teacher retracts the finger. "Understandable, but you also have to understand the rules placed by the Commission. If you want to become a Hero, then you must abide by the rules. Not only that…" The teacher looked down the hall, rose petals littered the marble flooring. "It makes a mess."

Ruby bows in apology. "I am so very sorry!" The teacher sighs.

"Just go eat your lunch."

"Yes, sir!" With that, Ruby mindfully leaves.

Another teacher walks up. "She still wants to become a hero?"

"That's right." The tone was unamused.

"I just don't see how someone like her could become one. She's not at all that intimidating, and her Quirk isn't that impressive. She's also too…how do I put this? Sensitive? Fragile?"

"A small, child romantic reading one too many fairy tales. Just let her dream. She'll realize sooner or later that herowork is not for someone like her."

Ruby reaches to her usual spot outside, just underneath a grand cherry blossom tree. She sat on a branch as she waited patiently for someone else. That someone, the tall blonde from before, arrived in just a few minutes. "Took you a while, Jaune," she joked as the boy sat next to her.

"Ha-ha. You're a comedian," Jaune smiled, taking out his lunch. The male uniform he wore consisted of black suits lined with gold, accompanied by a blue vest and a white shirt with a red tie. "I figured you accidentally used your Quirk, again."

"How did you know?"

Jaune lifts his hand to reveal a red petal between his pointer finger and thumb. "Wasn't that hard to figure out. We've known each other for, what, nine years? I recognize your trail."

"You make it seem like you were tracking a wild animal," Ruby said with a smile.

"Was I?" The blonde flicks the petal at Ruby. She laughs a little. "You're lucky you didn't run into anything." Jaune's smile slowly fades to a frown. "You don't nap in the middle of class often. What happened? Did you get a good night's sleep?"

Ruby paused her chopsticks midway and sighs. "Kinda? Yang wanted to do some last-minute training and had me in on it. I was aching like crazy!" She takes a bite of her rice.

"What about now?"

Ruby swallows. "Yeah. But, Yang said I need to be ready since UA is a tough school. Oh! Speaking of UA, have you heard about Achillea?" Ruby asked.

Jaune slurps up some noodles and licks his lips. "Who?"

"Achillea," Ruby repeated. Jaune blinks at her. "She won the UA Sports Festival in her first-year last year?" Jaune blinks again. "She got first place in all events? And made top marks in the Provisional License Exam?"

"Whoa…Seriously? That's cool!...So, uh, what about her?" Jaune asked.

Ruby groaned as she hung her head low. Her friend wasn't as privy about heroes as she is. "Even though she was only a first-year student, her latent talent for heroism and her Quirk had her to graduate two years early! Two years, Jaune. Two. Years!"

Jaune whistled. "That's impressive."

"And that's not all. She is also All Might's sidekick now! She's practically the Princess of Heroes! How cool is that?" All Might hardly ever took in sidekicks, especially after Sir Nighteye went pro some years back.

"Very!"

Ruby squeals with delight. "I can't wait to go to UA!"

"You still wanna get into UA?" an arrogant voice mocked. Ruby glowered as the brown-haired guy from class sauntered over. Accompanying him were his lackies. "You think they'll let in a little girl? And you too, Jauney-boy? With that weak Quirk of yours? From what I heard, they put brats like you through a boot camp only to kick you out after getting the snot beat out of you."

"Uh, Winchester, did you forget that Ruby has a sister there?" Jaune asked sardonically. "And an uncle?"

"He does know, Jaune, he's just being a jerk," Ruby said. Jaune looks at her. Clearly, she didn't catch his sarcastic tone. "Don't you have anything better to do, Winchester?"

"Just doing my duty for the community and snuffing out weak links," Cardin smirked. "Neither of you have what it takes to be heroes." His mocking eyes peered down at Ruby. "You're just some little girl," he then looks at Jaune. "and you're just a doormat." He and his group laughed as they left leaving no room for a reply so they could have the last laugh. Ruby clenches her hand into a tight fist.

As soon as Cardin and his goons were out of earshot, Ruby said to Jaune, "You know, it's still weird to see you so…assertive. At least towards Winchester."

"Well, dealing with him throughout middle school was bound to get old quickly," Jaune said. His face turns sour. "That and everything he had me do back in 7th grade…"

"Hey, I said it was fine before and I'll say it again now. It's okay. It's all in the past. Ugh, I can't believe that we're still stuck with him for one more year, though. He's such a big, stupid jerk!"

"Forget about him, Ruby," Jaune sighed. "He's just mad because he doesn't have a Quirk like you and me. To be frank, I'm kinda surprised he managed to get himself a bunch of guys to be his lackies with that attitude of his." He sounded tired, very done with Cardin for the day.

A cute growl rumbled from the girl's throat as she took an angry bite on an octopus cocktail wiener.

Jaune's expression becomes thoughtful. "It's not true, you know."

"Hm?"

"What Winchester said about you and UA, I mean. And what anybody said. You are more than capable of becoming a hero." It didn't take long for Ruby to know what he was talking about. The girl is very much aware of how people view her. They see her as small and helpless and see her as just a child. Obviously, she is nowhere near intimidating like a lot of Pro Heroes, Sidekicks, or even hero course students. Her sister is more intimidating than she is. In other words, next to no one thinks she can become a hero. Only a handful of people did: Her older sister (and her friends at UA; though it was out of courtesy), her father, Uncle Qrow, Jaune, Mr. Port, and even Uncle Toshi, even though Ruby hasn't seen much of him since his accident 5 years ago.

A grateful smile formed on Ruby's face. "Thanks, Jaune. And right back at ya!"

Jaune chuckled. "I don't know about that…"

"Come on! Don't sell yourself short!"

"Hypocrite~."

"Shut up! Ha-ha!"

The two share a hardy laugh. A soft breeze flowed through the branches of the cherry blossom tree, taking many pink petals with it. Among the swarm is a white petal. A petal that is much larger than the pink ones…

Lunch is also underway at Aldera Junior High School. As usual, Izuku sat alone on a bench as he ate his lunch while writing into his notebook. There was another villain attack today, but it was quickly taken care of by the arrivals of the Flare Hero, Flame High, and the Sigil Hero, Regina Ice. Izuku thinks back on his previous sketches and notes.

If he remembered right, notebook number 11 has a page dedicated to Flame High, sketched in his hero costume, with notes on his age (early forties), his Quirk (speed based), his personality (friendly and outgoing), and fighting capabilities (relies on a combination of his speed and martial arts). As well as some additional notes on him, such as there was a period of time where he went silent for several years before returning to the spotlight about 5 years ago. According to some news articles about it, it had something to do with personal affairs, like a sick or dead loved one. He was in the top 20s before his temporary leave and is now in the latter end of the 100s due to little televised work from him. Despite this, he's still popular, especially with some women.

In another notebook, #12, is a sketch of Regina Ice, a relatively new hero, having debuted a couple of years ago. Current age: 25; Quirk: Glyphs (sounds familiar); personality (stern and calculated); fighting prowess (carries a saber and a dagger, though she used them more like wands when using her Glyphs). The Sigil Hero earned a spot in the top 15 due to her tactile efforts, pristine battle plans, quick wit, and the myriad uses of her Glyphs. She's also very easy on the eyes, according to some people, having a mature, sophisticated beauty to her.

"Despite her cold disposition, Regina Ice is shown to be a cooperative person, even among the rowdiest of heroes. As a Seiai High alumnus, she definitely upholds the school's code in high regard. Also…" Nearby students stared perturb at Izuku's muttering. This was a common occurrence for the freckled-face boy, but it still weirds others out.

A fast ball soared through the air and found its mark on the back of Izuku's head. The boy shouts in pain and grabs the back of his head. Little teardrops manifested in the corners of his eyes from the throbbing of the growing bruise. Izuku then hears a familiar cackle from behind. Katsuki Bakugo and his goons sauntered towards the boy, each with a cocky smirk.

"Whoops, sorry about that, Deku," Bakugo smirked. "But, with all that muttering made you an easy target." He and the other students erupt into laughter at Izuku's expense. The poor boy blushed in embarrassment.

The bell rings, signaling the end of lunch. Izuku remained on the bench with his head low as Bakugo and his group left, not without commenting on his worthlessness and calling him a loser. Now alone, Izuku rises from his bench to gather up his things that have dropped. Thankfully, he was done with his lunch, only a few pieces of rice scattered on the grass when his bento fell. It took a few seconds for Izuku to notice a minute taste of copper in his mouth.

Izuku dabs a finger on the tip of his tongue. He sees a tiny bit of red mixed with his saliva. He had probably bit his tongue when the ball hit him.

"He's lucky that I didn't bite my whole tongue off…" he muttered. He sighs to himself before he reentered the school.

Patchi is a small island off the coast of Musutafu, easily accessible via a bridge called the Emerald Bridge. It is under the watchful eye of the Lucky Phoenix Agency, a Hero agency. Unfortunately for a quiet island with 200 inhabitants, there isn't much to do aside from a few shops including a mom-and-pop restaurant and a comic bookstore. So, many of the youths tend to spend their free time out in the main city. The same is said for Jaune and Ruby, but not for today.

School has ended and Ruby and Jaune headed home for the day. Having been neighbors for nine years, they tend to walk together in their rural neighborhood.

"Any plans, Jaune?" Ruby asked. Hanging off her back is a Kiki cat plush backpack.

"Mom and Dad want me to help out at the restaurant for the day after I freshen up at home. Why? Want to go into the city?"

Ruby shook her head. "No. Dad texted me after school ended. He said that I have a surprise at home."

"A surprise? Any idea of what it is?" Jaune asked.

"I dunno," Ruby shrugged. "I mean, the first week is barely halfway over and there hasn't been anything major lately."

"Maybe, it's something he got from patrolling?"

"Maybe…" Growing bored, Ruby digs into her backpack and takes out a comic to read. The pair arrived at their neighboring homes. Jaune was the first to notice someone standing in front of Ruby's home. He knew who it was and nudged his elbow at Ruby. "What?" Jaune motions her to look forward. Ruby does so and her eyes shine in recognition. The person, looking at his phone, was really tall and lanky with long, stringy-looking blonde hair. Jaune smiles as Ruby disappears into a flurry of roses towards the person. "UNCLE TOSHI!" She wraps her arms around the man's free arm. The man was mildly surprised by the 'attack' and lifts his arm, Ruby dangly off it. "Ah! It's good to see you! Did you miss me? Did you miss me?!"

"…Nope," Toshinori smirked. He ruffles Ruby's hair. He then sees Jaune watching them and lifts a hand to wave. Jaune waves back before entering his house. Just as he did, the door to the Xiao Long-Rose home opens. There stood Taiyang Xiao Long with a little corgi, the family dog Zwei, at his feet.

"I see you enjoy your surprise, Ruby," the man said.

"I do!" Ruby exclaimed, still hanging off Toshinori's arm like a monkey. Toshinori chuckled and lowered his arm, causing Ruby to slide off and land with an 'oof.' She bounces back on her feet. "I haven't seen much of you since your accident!" She gasps. "Oh no. I'm sorry if I hurt you!"

"It's fine, Ruby," Toshinori reassured. "I may not look like it, but I won't be snapped in two like a twig."

"Are you sure?" the girl asked.

"I'm sure."

"Before we get sidetracked, don't you have any homework to do, Ruby?" Tai asked.

"It's only the second day of school," Ruby retorted.

"Ruby," Tai said, his voice an authoritative tone.

Ruby sighed. "Ugh. Fine. How long are you staying, Uncle Toshi?"

"Long enough for some after-dinner tea. Now, go do what your father asked you."

"Gah! Okay, okay! I get it! I'm going!" Ruby exclaimed before heading into the house. Zwei waddled behind her.

Now alone with Toshinori, Tai's welcoming smile turns into a frown. A frown Toshinori recognized. "Are you, Toshinori Yagi, able to stay for dinner? Or is 'All Might' gonna be busy later?" Toshinori's jaw hung open as he tried to come up with a response. He grunted a sigh in defeat as he couldn't find a suitable one. Tai sighs as well. Very, very few people knew of Toshinori – All Might's – near fatal battle that occurred 5 years ago and the horrendous injury he sustained from it and Taiyang was one of them. The two had worked together closely once, back when the Lucky Phoenix Agency went by a different name. So close in fact that Toshinori had become an honorary uncle for Ruby and Yang, like with Melissa Shields. Especially after what happened to Summer…

After that fateful battle and his fallout with Sir Nighteye, Toshinori started to distance himself from others, that included his nieces. Sure, there were phone calls, face cam chats, the occasionally mailed gifts, and the like, but…it was clear to the father of two that his daughters greatly missed their 'Uncle Toshi'.

"Toshinori, I get that you have to uphold your Symbol of Peace and I know I'm being harsh, but—"

"I know, Tai. Believe me, I do," Toshinori said softly. "But…I just want to protect them from…you know. What Sir Nighteye predicted."

"Don't we all," Tai lamented. Toshinori could see a small glimpse of grief in the other man's eyes before they disappeared and were replaced with a smile. "Well, you're here now."

A smile graces Toshinori's lips as well. "That's right. I am here."

"Come on. It'll be a while before I get dinner started. I usually begin as soon as Yang comes home."

"Oh, right. Hero course students have additional classes. I can't believe I nearly forgot about that."

"Well, it has been a helluva long time since you've been in UA," Tai commented jokingly.

"Hey," Toshinori responded, not in the least bit offended.

Unknown to both as they went inside, a single white petal fluttered in the air.

What do you guys think? I have been reading baileek313's RWBY in My Hero, though I think I should stop reading it for a while as to not copy key things they did, but I do wanna try and do things differently compared to them. Idk. Tell me what ya'll think.

Sorry about not updating GoR, I've just been in a MHA craze lately and the aforementioned inspiration got to me. Although…I'm starting to notice a trend with my crossover ideas.

Example: Bleached Moon (Sailor Moon x Bleach; an old fic of mine; still debating on reuploading) – Guardians of Remnant (Bleach x RWBY) – Our Hero Academia (RWBY x MHA) – My Meister Academia (MHA x Soul Eater; a work in progress)

Our Hero Academia is also a working title. I'm free to change it, I just can't think of anything else. What do you guys think?
