"Virgo. Thank you for digging that hole for them." Lucy said nodding to the spirit in thanks when she had dug the hole for Erza, Gray, Natsu, and Happy to escape from the wind wall. Lucy however had just walked right through it without getting so much as a scratch. The only thing damaged was her clothes and she didn't really care since they still fit her and covered everything. Besides it wasn't like she didn't have someone who could make her a new one whenever she needed it.

That purple haired girl with the scar that she had saved a few years back was quite good at sewing already and had made Lucy some clothes over the last year or two, all of which were treated a lot better and protected more fiercely than the store bought and custom tailored clothes she was wearing now.

"Of course Mama. I'll have you some more clothes soon." Virgo said bowing before vanishing immediately in a shower of sparkles, also noticing the whip on the tall girls waist and making a mental note to get her a Celestial one.

"Well she's eager to please…Zeus." Lucy looked bemused before she looked at the cloud and it nodded once.

"Yes mama!" Zeus said before it grew bigger and took off in a seemingly random direction.

"Hey where's he going?" Gray asked confused even as he stripped out of his jacket.

"To either help Natsu and Happy or to stop Erigor. Whichever happens first." Lucy said dismissively as she easily scooped Gray, Kageyama, and Erza into one large hand while they had only just noticed the pink haired boys disappearance.

"We can take the magic cart!" Erza said and Lucy gave off a small snort as she began walking out of the town and over to the train tracks that lead across Clover Canyon.

"Why waste the time and magic? I wouldn't fit and besides, I go faster without having to use up a lot of magic." Lucy said and honestly she had a point on how traveling like this would save magical energy for whoever was driving the cart.

"That pink haired boy has no chance against Erigor…and even if you intend to use me as a hostage it wouldn't work." Kageyama said hanging his head with a small depressed aura around him while his soul was looking so helpless and lost and torn on how to act. Lucy hated seeing those kinds of souls, they always poked her maternal side into the front.

"Natsu is stronger than you think and even if he wasn't enough by himself I sent a fraction of my soul with him who has power of wind and lightning and rain. No matter how you look at it Erigor doesn't stand a chance of reaching Clover…not with his soul in his body at least." Lucy said without looking at him as she carefully stepped along the tracks, feeling Erza and Gray fearfully grip her fingers since they weren't sure if the train tracks could hold her large body and equally large weight. She wasn't sure either but if it couldn't then she'd just call for Zeus again. He'd come get her long before she hit the bottom of the canyon.

"Of course…" Lucy peered down at Kageyama with beady red eyes as he stiffened and looked up at her slowly, fearfully, from the tone in her voice and the act that her dark aura was back which seemed to make her eyes glow a bit.

"If you'd rather I could always just take your soul, I'm sure it'd be a useful and obedient thing when put inside of a homie." Lucy said and Kageyama didn't know what the hell a homie was and he didn't want to find out.

"I-I'm good thanks." Kageyama gulped heavily as he trembled and Lucy smirked slightly at him.

"Then you don't want to die. You just don't want to live with the circumstances anymore." Lucy said looking up from him and straight ahead again.

"Aside from the Most Wanted list and the Dark Guilds I've defeated there are a few others whose souls I have taken." Lucy revealed and she could feel how Erza tensed slightly in her hand.

"Those were the people who sought me out for my powers and wanted to die. To become something or someone different and leave their old lives behind. For whatever reason, they didn't have the will to go on anymore or felt as if there was nothing they could do at all to amount to anything on their own. So they heard of my soul powers and sought me out. They asked me, begged me, to take their souls and let them become something or someone new. To let them feel as if they had a purpose and use to someone even if just me. Those people…they are the ones who truly had no reason to go on but still wanted to be useful to someone. And don't worry Erza, I'm not breaking any laws with that. I have a permit from the Council that as long as the person giving up their soul who isn't an enemy is either on deaths door with no chance of saving…or has signed a confession and waiver that it was what they wanted." Lucy said glancing down at Erza who nodded her head slightly in understanding but everything was silent except for Lucy's footsteps.

"Those people…those are the ones who I see in my dreams. When I see souls like theirs were before they became mine? Those are the ones that make me go in full mother mode because their souls are so pained, they're hurting and grieving and crying out so much…they are the ones who are so lost, broken and defeated, that if I hadn't agreed to take their souls and give them use, then they'd be in the paper the next morning having killed themselves." Lucy said sighing heavily and she walked further down the tracks where she could feel Zeus was hovering still, vaguely being able to see Natsu and Happy's souls as well.

"So despite whatever you might think right now Kageyama. You don't want to die. You don't think of yourself as useless. You aren't broken. You might be damaged and cracked but you aren't broken. You aren't ready to die yet." Lucy said and she glanced down at Kageyama again as he stared up at her.

"So don't go trying to throw your life away."
