I am going to be potentially adding in a few more US Marshalls and other characters to change up the story a little.
Chapter 8
Earl Whitehorse pov
Shit sticks, we didn't need no gun hoeing US Marshall telling us that the Seed brothers needed to be arrested. The people of Hope county with half a brain could see that those brothers where no good.
We were at a stage where it had slowed down enough to be almost considered normal. Yes, we still had the odd shootout between the resistance and Eden's project people. But everyone else seemed to get along okay, just as long as no one was stepping on toes too hard.
The only thing that hasn't gotten those brothers arrested by us, is the youngest brother John been a big shot lawyer. But according to the US Marshall they had enough evidence that not even John could keep them out of the hole this time.
"It's going to get ugly again if that US Marshall and his group of men step in." Said Joey.
"Yes, it needs to be done, yes it will get ugly, but do we really need to do it while everything is peacefull-ish." replied Staci as he sat down at his desk.
"Trust me Pratt, as much as it will turn into a potential blood bath, Hope County needs to be freed of those brothers." I chipped in.
"Its like a dam revolving door. On one side it will be good for the US Marshall to step in but on the other side, the shit storm that's been brewing will tip over into a fight if Joseph is arrested and all the people who have kept to themselves will be affected." Said Joey as she walked away to continue her work.
Waiting for the US Marshall to finish up on the phone, I walked back over to my desk twiddling my thumbs. It didn't take long for the US Marshall to finish up and walk over to me to fill us in on what was going to happen.
"Now Sheriff I know Hope county is your domain but tomorrow night while we are making the arrest it will be mine and my men's okay."
"Crystal clear Marshall, but I think you're making a mistake."
"Don't give a shit if you think it's a mistake or not, Joseph needs to pay for what he has done. Now tomorrow when we go in, I need you to make sure you and your people stay out of our way but keep alert enough to cover us if we need the help okay."
"Okay Marshall." I said as I nodded towards him.
"Good, make sure you're ready by six o'clock tomorrow night." Said the Marshall.
Watching the man leave was good, too intense for my liking.
"Hey Earl, since we are going to be busy tomorrow all day and into the night maybe ring Dutch and let him know Ryleigh doesn't need to come in for the day." Said Staci.
"I was actually thinking of asking Ryleigh to be a sniper for us, just place her right at the back so she can't be seen by Joseph or his people." I said looking up towards Staci.
"Fuck Earl, she's only just finished school a few days ago, she doesn't need to be dragged into all of this." Said Staci as he huffed angerly.
"Staci is right Earl; Ryleigh may be a sharpshooter, but she is young and doesn't need this. And as well the Marshall would have a shit fit about a non-police person joining us." Said Joey from her desk.
"Fine your both right, I'll ring Dutch to tell Ryleigh doesn't need to come in."
Picking up the phone I dialled Dutches number. After a few rings Dutch answered the phone.
"Hello."
"Hey Dutch, it's Earl."
"Hey Earl, what can I do for you."?
"Nothing much, just ringing to ask if you can let Ryleigh know that she doesn't need to come in tomorrow is all."
"You and the Marshalls making your move.?" Asked Dutch.
"Yeah around six o'clock tomorrow night." I replied.
"Okay no problem, I'll let her know that you're busy then."
"Thanks Dutch." I said as he hung up first.
That's the good thing about Dutch, you didn't need to say much to him, he practically knew what was happening before you did.
