Chapter two

Meera entered the house while juggling the milk packets and newspaper in her hands, and as suspected, she dropped the newspaper while locking the door. But before she realised, it was already picked up by someone else.

"thanks.." said Satish with his usual, charming smile.

"tum kab uthe?" asked Meera, as she walked towards the kitchen, and Satish followed.

"arre woh toh main bahaut pehle se hi utha hua tha, par maine kaha tumhe bhi kya disturb karna, itni gheri neend mein thi..." he replied, as Meera smiled.

"so, as usual, black coffee?" offered Meera as Satish nodded, when suddenly, noise from the alarm clock blared from a room on the corner of the appartment.

Kavin groaned in irritation from the noise of the alarm clock, which grew intense, when he saw Dushyant, still sleeping and completely unaffected. He got up unwantedly, making as much noise as possible on his way to the nightstand where the alarm clock was placed. Finally, to shut it off.

"jab uthna hi nahi hota hai, toh alarm kyun lagata hai!" grumbled kavin.

suddenly, the door of the room was opened by satish, and he entered to a kavin shooting him a death stare, as he pointed to dushyant.

satish sighed looking at him, as he went to doing the usual, shaking his arm to wake him up, with the usual ineffectiveness following it. he pulled his sheet right off of him, to no avail, as kavin just went to the bathroom, to brush his teeth. when finally satish managed to wake dushyant up, by slamming that newspaper in his hands on dushyant's neck, and boy was he not happy about it.

"what the!" exclaimed dushyant, as he woke up enraged.

"acha hai uth gaye..." remarked satish, as dushyant just shot a death glare at him.

"kya tha yeh?" he questioned.

"kya, alarm tum lagate ho, uthta woh hai, ab kya band baje bulaon tumhe uthane ke liye!" scolded satish, as dushyant smirked.

"kyun, do shaadiyon mein bulane ke baad discount milega?" commented dushyant snarkily, as kavin who was brushing in the bathroom, completely spit out the toothpaste.

"tameez mein raho." reminded satish sternly, as dushyant just got up from the bed, with that smirk intact.

"aur kya funny lag raha hai tumhe iss sab mein, huh?" questioned satish.

"yahi, ki aap teesri shaadi ka discount mere upar waste karna chahte ho..." replied dushyant, nonchalantly.

"dushyant!" yelled satish, as dushyant's calm demeanour faded away.

"chilao mat! khoo chuke hain woh hak aap..." stated dushyant, as an intense fury was in his glance, fixed upon his father.

the silence was destructive, as kavin quietly sneaked away, with amusement on his face from the father-son drama.

"good morning..." remarked Meera as kavin walked upto her in the kitchen.

"hmm, aapki hi hai good morning...meri tu subha hi inn baap bete ke drame se shuru hui." complaint kavin, as he rested his hands on the cabinet.

"kyun, kya hua?" asked Meera, as she handed him the cup of tea, which he accepted.

"same old, same old mom, woh badtameezi karta hai, uska baap dant lagata hai, phir woh tana deta hai...ugh!" described kavin, as he sipped from his cup of tea.

"aise mat bolo beta..."

"maa, just because tumhara pati hai, main uske baarein mein cheeze sugarcoat nahi karunga..." said kavin, as meera felt a pinch of disappointment.

"chaye achi hai waise.." added kavin, as meera chuckled.

"hmm, achi lagegi hi, tumhe toh pasand hai kadak chaye..." remarked meera, when suddenly, dushyant came up. An awkward silence filled the room.

Meera passed him a cup of coffee.

"coffee hai, cold and strong, jaise tumhe pasand hai..." said meera, as dushyant looked at the cup hesitantly.

"aap, please, mat kiya kijiye, yeh sab..." said dushyant, as meera raised her brow.

"maa nahi hai aap meri, koshish mat kijiye banne ki..."said dushyant, as kavin just ogled at him.

"bhai, coffee de thi, zeher nahi! aur waise bhi, yeh tewar apne baap ke liye rakh!" said kavin, to set him straight.

"tu batayega mujhe, ki kaise baat karni chahiye mujhe apne baap se!" exclaimed an enraged dushyant.

"dekh, chahe toh tu apne baap ka murder bhi karde, meri maa se aise baat nahi kar sakta."

"kyun, kisi aur ka baap zinda hai, yeh baat jheli nahi jaati tujhse..." said dushyant, to leave kavin furious, as he was about to hit him, but was stopped by his mother and dushyant left them, more broken than they were before...
