It had been a week since they arrived at Berserk and both of them were busy from the moment they woke up to the moment they finally escaped into their house. Everyone wanted to talk to Dagur and if they couldn't talk to him they wanted to talk to her. Iris was taking a crash course on her duties she'd have when she became chieftess and even without the official title was doing some of the duties already.

The women of the village tried to get her to wear more dresses but she refused. Instead she chose to wear a long sleeved shirt, trousers, and her leather gear. While the dress she had worn her first night there was lovely, it wasn't practical for her to wear everyday. Especially with all the running around she had to do. Sadly they accepted her decision but got her cornered for a whole afternoon to get her measurements for her future wedding attire.

At least she didn't have to take on Dagur's work load. It seemed every man in the tribe had some kind of complaint they wanted him to solve. Which needed one of two things they didn't have thanks to the traitorous former family heads, people or resources.

The second day they had been there Dagur sent a Terror mail to Hiccup and Stoick. Terrible Terrors didn't come to this island though so Enigma and Jager had caught a couple to be used. The poor things were rightfully terrified, covered in slobber and kept in place by a large paw. Thankfully they understood Dagur and took off in the right directions immediately.

Iris had suggested they make plans for a Terror rookery. That had confused Dagur some so she explained. The idea was to build a small shack, no bigger than two outhouses next to each other, that the Terrible Terrors could go in and out. Someone, an older child for example, could care for them during the day and retrieve any incoming messages. That way there was a central location for the Terrors to go to and someone during the day to take the messages. That had impressed Dagur and he agreed, once they had extra resources.

Being chieftess was just as busy as being chief. When Dagur was gone she'd be the one in charge of the island. While he was there she handled the domestic issues from finances, household resources, and other things. Any serious issues, like a trial, was held with both of them attending. Hopefully none of those would happen any time soon.

One thing Iris wanted to do was similar to what Hiccup had done on Berk, have dragons join the tribe. However given the Berserker's history, no dragons were clamouring to visit and stay. The people there tolerated Enigma and Jager out of respect but were otherwise terrified of them. It wasn't going to be easy to change their mindset on that.

Surprisingly Heather stopped in on the seventh day of them being there. She flew in on her dragon Windshear like a monster was chasing them while they stood on the hill behind the village to get a break. Jager had grabbed Dagur and jerked him away being Windshear landed directly where he had been. The purple dragon roared, rearing up with his mane puffed out. Surprisingly Windshear shrank back at the angry male's response.

"You bastard," Heather snarled as she leaped off the silver dragon.

"Sister," Dagur said eagerly. "Its so good to see you! I've missed you and-ooofff!"

"Dagur!" Iris gasped and ran to him. Heather had swung a good punch right in his face. Her fist was armored and put Dagur on his ass. "Are you okay?" Blood ran from his left nostril and a bruise was already starting to form on his cheek.

"Who are you?" Heather snarled.

"My soon to be wife," Dagur coughed. He spat out some blood before moving his jaw around.

"What?! Someone agreed to marry your insane deranged sadistic-"

"Please be quiet," Iris snapped. "Your behavior is extremely inappropriate as a member of the chief's family." Heather stared at her in shock with her mouth hanging open. "Besides your dragon is clearly terrified. You should attend to her before attacking someone."

Heather glanced back at Windshear only to gasp. Enigma had joined Jager in intimidating the other dragon. However where Jager had backed down Enigma was intent on asserting her dominance with some snarls and posturing that caused the silver dragon to roll over and show her belly.

"Calm down," Iris said to Enigma in English. The female growled but stepped away from the cowed dragon so Heather could approach her.

"She's got a great right hook," Dagur joked. Iris frowned at him. "What? Its the truth."

Villagers had arrived while Iris helped Dagur to his feet, armed and partly armored. They froze at the sight of Dagur with a bloody nose and Heather trying to comfort a panicked Windshear. They glanced at each other and lowered their weapons in disappointment before turning around and trudging back down the hill. Only Rohan stayed back with another old man.

"Young Heather you have returned," Rohan said as he approached. "It is good to see you in good health."

"I didn't come here for you," Heather snapped. "Your insane chief is back so stop bothering me."

"Rude," Iris grumbled. Dagur snickered at her. "You shush."

"Elder Rohan, Elder Hedric, what do you need?" Dagur asked.

"A message came the same time Heather arrived," the old man said. "Stoick the Vast is willing to meet with you on the condition only one ship goes and you meet at the Edge in three days time."

"Don't need a ship," Dagur said cheerfully.

"That's why I'm here," Heather growled. "Hiccup sent me a message that you were meeting Stoick and I decided to come and watch you. You can't be trusted."

Iris was about to say something but Dagur hushed her. Instead she glared at the other girl who ignored her. In the story she had been happy to have her brother back, especially after she joined him to save the Gronkles. That lead to their adventure to find out where their dad had actually gone since it was a lie Dagur killed him. The story had changed already though. Hiccup and the others had freed the Gronkles without Dagur and he had been gone far longer than in the story. What made her so angry and bitter?

"You are more than welcome to fly there with us," Dagur said. "You can also stay with us for the time being."

"I'll be watching you," she growled. Windshear had finally gotten up but kept behind Heather. "Keep your dragons away from Windshear." Without getting an answer she stormed off.

"Foul mannered," Iris grumbled. She took a handkerchief from her pocket and dapped at the blood running down Dagur's face. "You are going to have to wash all this off. There's too much for me to wipe off."

"She's just shy," Dagur chuckled. "She just got news her big brother is actually alive. Who wouldn't blame her?"

"Me," she grumbled again. He just laughed and headed down the hill with Jager by his side and keeping pace with the elders. "Come on Enigma. Let's go."
