The sky was clear and the air smelled fresh. Iris leaned back as Enigma glided through the air. With so much happening on Berserk, she hadn't had a chance to really just fly with Enigma. The dragon seemed to understand but it didn't make Iris feel less guilty.

They were getting close to the Edge. Dagur, Heather, and her left after day break to get there as soon as possible. She wasn't sure about Heather but she knew that she and Dagur were anxious to talk to the seasoned chief. Granted he didn't like Dagur but hopefully Hiccup had talked to him some on that front.

Heather calmed down after the first day at Berserk. Her second day she had followed Iris around, much to her discomfort, which caused Ellie and another woman, Lila, to stick with her. The disproving looks they gave Heather could set a building on fire. It wasn't until lunch that day Heather finally approached her and asked if she could continue accompanying her on her daily tasks. Even though the other two women looked concerned, Iris agreed. Under the stipulation she helped.

The rest of the day into the third day before they'd leave Iris had Heather help her with every task she had on the island. She had to sit in on chieftess classes, listen with her about problems still happening in the village, study medicine which Iris had been doing since the second day her and Dagur arrived, figure out meals with the simple pickings they had of grains and produce, and more. Of course Iris always made sure Dagur was doing okay with the three of them spending lunches together.

Following her had opened Heather's eyes to what had happened while Dagur was gone and what he and Iris were trying to do to fix it. She seemed very humbled and was even concerned when she learned Iris was studying medicines due to the lack of a healer as well as the issues with children getting sick. It didn't help their nutrition wasn't the best. Iris planned on teaching some of the young girls and boys how to forge for edible plants when they returned.

"I can see the Edge," Dagur said as he gazed through his telescope. "Looks like Berk is already there. Three ships. Awe he told me I could only have one."

"Oh well," Iris said. "We can always leave if things get heated. I'm not scared to leave Enigma's saddle behind."

"Always thinking ahead aren't you?"

"Got to so I can keep up with you."

"Enough of the flirting," Heather groaned. "Hiccup won't let anyone from Berk attack you. Don't worry."

"We are bantering," Dagur argued. "If you want to see flirting, well, Iris my love-"

"I don't wanna hear it!"

Iris laughed as Dagur flew closer to his sister and began talking about love and romance. Heather's face turned bright red. She looked like she wanted to be anywhere but here with his sappy talk.

"Save it for later Dagur," Iris called. "Your sister's head it going to pop like a volcano."

Dagur just grinned. On Berserk he was getting over worked and overly stressed. A few times he had snapped, one such occasion when he was dealing out punishment to the former family heads that turned their backs on Berserk. The one woman made more rude remarks about Iris regardless of his repeated warnings. Without any warning and no expression he had grabbed the woman's tongue, grabbed his knife, and sliced it off. Iris didn't know what else happened as the guards escorted her out at his order. For what she could get from the guards who had remained though, the woman hadn't survived the punishment and each of the other heads lost three fingers on their dominant hand and two on their other hand. She had been shocked at the brutality but didn't say anything to Dagur.

"Guys," Heather shouted as they landed on the designated landing area for dragons here. "It's good to see you guys. Hi Fishlegs." Iris noticed both of them were blushing and was thankful Dagur didn't notice.

"I'm not surprised you guys flew here," Hiccup said. "Dagur. Iris. Good to see you two again. I guess congratulations are in order?"

"Thank you Hiccup," Iris said. Dagur puffed out his chest with a grin. "Stop posturing. Thank you for meeting with us again. Things have been, difficult."

"That's putting it mildly," Dagur grumbled.

"Things sounded bad in your letter," Astrid commented. "Really don't hold back do ya?"

"Important things shouldn't be hovered around," Iris argued. "Straight to the point so it can be solved. Otherwise just dancing around will make things drag out longer and make them even worse."

"I couldn't have said it any better," another deep voice said. Iris felt Dagur grab her arm and pull her closer to him. "Calm down lad. No one is going to take your lass."

"Can never be too careful," he joked as a huge burly Viking walked over. "Good to see you Stoick. I think?"

"Well you didn't come with your armada, or any ship at that," Stoick drawled. "And you seem to have more sense in that deranged head of yours than before. Either that explosion knocked some sense in you or you gained some thanks to that lass."

"Mix of both," he said with a shrug. "Plus her mother and father ran a tight ship. I learned a lot from them. Mind if we start talking? Berserk still needs us since there are still plenty of problems."

"Ah. Come on lad. Hiccup, you too." Iris moved to follow Dagur only to stop at a shake of Stoick's head. "Not right now lass. We are clearing up the past right now. You can join later." Iris felt her face warm up as she glared at the older man.

"I'll fill you in," Dagur promised. "We need their help remember? You reminded me every day before we flew here?" Iris groaned. Her words were coming back to bite her. "Keep Enigma and Jager out of trouble."

"If it makes you feel any better I'm not allowed in either," Astrid said as Iris stood silently watching them close the door to a building. "Leave them alone to try to out impress each other. I'll show you around."

"Alright," Iris sighed. Grudgingly she followed after Astrid.

The Edge was impressive in person. They had a large stable for their dragons plus a medical section for any injured dragons, a house for each Rider stationed there, supply building, training ground, even a watch tower. It was large and spacious but still left plenty of wilderness for the wild dragons that lived there permanently.

Enigma followed them, getting into everything. She made the mistake of sniffing around Hookfang's pen and made the Murderous Nightmare mad. Without even trying to fight back she bolted. She even had the audacity to act like it never happened once she got to Iris.

"So you and Dagur are engaged?" Astrid asked. "Wow."

"He did it like an idiot," Iris grumbled. They were sitting on what could only be called a dock that extended off a cliff to stare out at the ocean and Enigma and Starfly who were having fun flying with each other. "Told everyone the minute we landed. Didn't even ask me yet! I wanted to hit him."

"But you still accepted," Astrid teased.

"I couldn't let the poor man tell his people he was wrong," Iris laughed. "Besides, I do still love him even when he's an idiot. Can't help it."

"Still. You're marrying Dagur the Deranged, one of the most crazy Viking in the Archipelago who is also one of the most feared and hated. That doesn't bother you?"

"No." Iris laid back on the dock to enjoy the warm sun hitting her leather riding gear. "That's not the Dagur I know. Oh don't get me wrong. He told me and my parents all about his past from the start. He is definitely not one to keep secrets like that. Still, I accepted him and he changed while he was with my family. Now he wants to protect Berserk, help her recover, and take care of his people."

"What about the dragons?" Astrid's voice was quiet.

"Even the dragons. I know he joined those Dragon Hunters for awhile. Chalk it up to his sheer stupidity that I won't let him do again. We've actually been talking about having some of the people at Berserk start training with dragons. Problem is that island doesn't have a good reputation with even dragons. Well. We do have one of our first official Terrible Terror residents. So that's a start."

"Can you find more dragons like Enigma and Jager?" The purple male had joined the two female dragons in flying around.

"I don't know. I honestly don't even know what they are."

"Actually I might have the answer," Fishlegs said excitedly. He was upside down walking quickly towards them. "Since I saw them I have been researching all I can. Yours even shed a few scales and both shed some of their mane while they were here before. Their manes are actually extremely fine scales tha Woolly Howl's typically have. However, the scales are similar to Toothless' except for some variation. Even their appearances carry both Night Fury and Woolly Howl with one favoring more Night Fury while the other favors more Woolly Howl. Its a cross between two of the most elusive dragons! And there's two of them!"

"Do they have a name?" Iris asked. She sat up to look back at him. He shook his head.

"No. I think the person who brought them here should name them actually." He grinned at Iris, his quill and notebook ready as if she was going to spout out a name. She actually had one in mind thanks to what he said.

"Fury Howler," Iris said. "It fits them. During the full moon they both howl like their wolves. Plus, they can get an extremely crabby temperament. Just look at how moody Enigma gets."

"True," Astrid chuckled while Fishlegs scribbled away. "That's a good name. Fury Howlers. Welcome to the Archipelago."

Fishlegs continued to ask her questions about the newly dubbed Fury Howlers. She told him what she could, granted it wasn't much. From what she knew of these two, they seemed to be more solitary than living in groups and preferred stealth when hunting. Enigma was the boss in the group thanks to her no back down attitude but if Jager was more confident he could easily beat her in strength and size. However he seemed to let her have her moods instead and submit to her as the boss.

What fascinated Fishlegs most was Enigma's color changing for seasons. Currently she was still in her winter phase but Iris could already see her colors changing as she shed out her scales. She had been collecting them whenever she found them. What she'd use them for she hadn't decided yet.

Enigma landed behind them on the dock while Jager and Stormfly landed on the cliff. The dragon purred, bumping her nose against the now excited Fishlegs. She laid down and let him observe her. Having let the children on Berserker play on her, Enigma got used to be touched by people other than Iris and Dagur. It didn't hurt that Fishlegs easily figured out all the perfect scratching spots on her.

"Why do you think she has a full mane while Jager only has a partial?" Fishlegs asked in awe.

"Maybe to help keep eggs and young warm?" Iris offered. "It gets cold where I am from. Cold enough that livestock can freeze to death where they stand if they get caught in a storm."

"That's possible," Fishlegs said.

"That could be why they have fire breath instead of a freezing breath," Astrid commented.

Iris looked at Enigma curiously. She realized she knew very little about her and her kind. She didn't even know why some of her features were the way they were. Somethings made sense, like her color changing for the seasons, why things like her mane didn't make sense.

"Here you are," Dagur said. He walked up the dock, giving Enigma a good scratch when he passed. "I was trying to find you."

"Sorry," she said. She took his offered hand and stood up. "Astrid was showing me around and Fishlegs was telling me what he learned about our dragons. They're a cross between Night Furys and Woolly Howls so we, I, decided they should be called Fury Howlers."

"Good name," Dagur said. He gave her a grin. "You'll be in charge of names from now on." She rolled her eyes and just nudged him. "Come on. Stoick wants to talk to you."

"Did you behave?" she asked as they headed off the dock.

"Yes I did. I was on my best behavior. I pretended your mom was there watching me and that helped keep me from saying anything rude."

Iris snickered. Unexpectedly she was feeling nervous. She was going to be talking to one of the most influential chiefs in the Archipelago. Before she didn't think twice but now she worried about acting like a fool.

Stoick and Hiccup were still in the building they all had entered earlier looking at a map. Small figures that reminded her of chess pieces sat on the map. Just what had they been discussing before Dagur came and got her?

"Ah. Hello again lass," Stoick said. "Dagur said you have the level head between you two."

"Hello Chief Stoick," she said politely, nodding her head. "He can be brash but sometimes its necessary. Especially when dealing with Berserkers."

"We were discussing how to repair and make new relations with other tribes," Dagur said with a gesture at the map. "Things aren't looking too good."

"I don't blame them," she said. She stepped up to the table and looked at the map. Several islands had red pieces on them while the island they lived on had a green piece as did the Edge and Berk. "I'm guessing these are the tribes you've made enemies with. Before or after you got blown away to my home?" She had hoped for more but wasn't feeling too crushed at the sight.

"Both," Dagur muttered.

"He wasn't the most logical person when he first became chief," Hiccup commented.

"Hey I grew out of it." Hiccup stared at him with a raised eyebrow. "Okay yeah it took awhile but I straightened out. Kept you guys from blowing yourselves to bits didn't I?"

"I'm starting to think you should thank me for that opportunity," Hiccup joked. "Otherwise you'd have never met Iris."

"Well. True. You have that right. Maybe I-"

"Shush both of you," Iris grumbled. They were distracting her. "I'm thinking."

First they should fix relations with the tribes closest to theirs. Thankfully Berk was one of them and it appeared Stoick was willing to fix things between them. That left two other tribes. One was to the south west while one was due north. She tapped at both.

"We need to start with these two."

"Why do you say that?" Stoick asked. She eyed him with his expressionless face.

"Those tribes are living on islands closest to us," she explained. "It is only logical to fix things with them as they are potential allies if anything were to happen as well as our closest trading partners. This one here is closer than Berk, the Edge, and the other tribe so it would be best to start with them." The island she tapped was due north of Berserk. "What can you tell me about them?"

"She's a smart lass," Stoick said as a grin broke the expressionless look on his face. "That island is called Quiet Life Island and is home to the Icer Tribe. They are small compared to Berk or Berserk but very proud with skilled craftsmen. They don't value the strength of a warrior as much as other tribes and favor those with craftsmen skills instead. That means they are always looking for and needing supplies to work with." He looked at her seriously. "You might have better luck with the Murking Tribe on Waterland Island. They are odd but are good sailors and fishermen as well as warriors."

"I want to start with the Icer Tribe," she said firmly. "If they value craftsmen over warriors, there might be a chance to win over some of their people when we smooth things over. Plus I think I might have something they'll go wild for."

"What" Hiccup asked.

Iris grinned and tugged on the leather strap that was around her neck. She pulled out the scale Dagur had given her for her birthday. She offered it to Hiccup to observe. He passed it to Stoick.

"What is it?" Stoick asked.

"A dragon scale," she and Hiccup said in unison. She grinned at him and continued. "I have plenty more as well. That only one dragon can produce."

"Smart lass," Stoick chuckled. "Now. Let me suggest what I can to help make things a little easier."

I cannot wait for y'all to meet the Murking Tribe. I already can tell they are going to be a reader favorite tribe.
