Haruhi P.O.V
…
Winter's words, they make perfect sense. I was able to protect Georgia because I overcame my fear wanting to protect her, and my magic wanted to protect me. It was all connected. But still, I just transformed into a Witch. I could create magic, and I felt it inside me, flowing through me and it felt….well, magical. It was crazy to think that I, Haruhi Fujioka could do magic.
"So what happens now? Can I just transform whenever I want?" I ask.
Georgia shrugs, "Well I can, so I guess so."
Winter was about to speak but we were cut off by the ringing of Georgia's home phone. She was quick to jump up, with a confused look on her face. "It's outside my hours, no one should be making a phone call…" She mutters to herself. Oh, that's right, she runs a flower shop, but from what I can see, it's not all that popular.
"Hello, Geo-" She began to say but shut her mouth and raised her eyebrows when a screaming voice came through.
"GEORGIA THANK GOD YOU ANSWERED! MY PRESCIOUS OTHER DAUGHTER ISN'T ANSWERING HER PHONE AND SHE TOLD ME THAT YOU GUYS WERE GOING TO THE MARKETS WHERE-" Georgia covered the speaker with her hand, rolling her eyes.
"It's Tamaki…" She whispered to me.
"I'm not surprised."
"Do we mess with him or tell him that we're ok?" That smirk on her face tells me that she already knows the answer she wants.
I shake my head at her, "Be mature."
With a sigh she released her hand off the phone and we heard the blonde's voice re-fill the room. "- NEED TO RESERECT MY DAUGHTERS WITH A BLOCK OF CHEESE AND THREE GOATS!"
I saw Georgia stifle her laughter, but recomposed herself. "Tamaki, we're fine. Artemis and…someone else saved us from B-" Her eyes widened, "Bad Guy, the bad guy."
"OH THANK GOD MY PRECIOUS BABIES YOU'RE ALRIGHT! I'M COMING TO SEE YOU RIGHT-" The line was silent for a few seconds, before he began to whine, "But my daughters…yes ma'am."
Georgia furrowed her eyebrows, "Tamaki?"
"Goodbye my precious daughters, I shall see you tomorrow!" And then he hung up.
We all looked at each other surprised, "Well that was strange."
The home phone rang again, and Georgia rolled her eyes. "I swear to god if that's Tamaki again…" she growled, "Hell-
"GEORGIA THANK GOD YOU ANSWERED! MY PRESCIOUS DAUGHTER ISN'T ANSWERING HER PHONE AND SHE TOLD ME THAT YOU GUYS WERE GOING TO THE MARKETS WHERE-" She covered the phone again, looking at me.
"It's your Dad. He sounds so much like Tamaki though."
"Tell me about it…" I sigh.
"-SUMMONING THE GHOST OF CHRISTMAS PAST AND GIVING THEM A BACK-PACK FULL OF PLUMS!"
With a deep breath mumbled, "Here we go again…."
…
The next day Haruhi and I we bombarded with questions about the attack at the market place. They were asking us what we saw, did we get pictures, are we hurt, what was a commoners market… The list went on and on. We did answer them all, but I did get tired of being crowded. Don't get me wrong, I love the attention but like, having to answer the same, stupid questions over and over again can get really annoying.
"Sorry to bother you ladies, but may I remind you that the host club is now in session and Haruhi and Georgia need to get their work started." Kyoya swooped in and saved our butts. As all the ladies leave with a sigh, I mouth a thank you towards the older guy.
I headed into the kitchen, dressed in black. The Kyoya gave up on me wearing the maids' outfit because I'd constantly spill stuff on it, or I'd leave it at home. So now it's compromised with my just wearing black clothes.
I head to my place in the kitchen, and prepared my platter with tea and… "Where the hell are the cakes?" I furrow my eyebrows and frantically open every cupboard, and re checked the fridge and all I found were sandwiches. "You're kidding!" I've been craving chocolate, and I can't find anything in here like that! What is this bull crap? That's when I noticed the note on the fridge.
Dear Georgia,
As you are probably aware, there are no sweets of any kind left in the vicinity. Instead please use the sandwiches you see in the fridge.
K.O
I glare at the paper, causing it to ignite instantly. It didn't even leave any ashes. "I hate you Kyoya…"
So I left the kitchen with my tea and….eerrgghh, sandwiches. I popped them down all over the place, at all tables. I noticed that Tamaki was finishing up with one of his clients, so I walked with him.
"Impressive Boss. That was quite an act." Hikaru commended as we walked past.
"Missing sweets, aren't you?" Kaoru said.
"I know I am." I grumble, and the twins smirk at me.
"But you can't go a day without eating chocolate."
"I put on my own smirk. "There has never been one day without me eating something sweet."
"Wow, unhealthy much." They mocked, but I shrugged it off.
Tamaki stood in, "Buzz off. The club's number one priority is our guests. All the matter is their happiness." He said.
Kyoya stood against a pillar nearby, scribbling on a sheet of paper, with a grin plastered on his face. "You had better watch yourselves out there. Don't give any sweets to Honey senpai, no matter what tricks he resorts to. Oh, and incidentally, those instructions come from Mori senpai. This isn't my doing." Numbers and symbols began floating around his head.
"So is it just me or does he seem to be enjoying this?" Hikaru gestured to the smiling 2nd year.
"Probably a bit too much." I took the tray in my hand back into the kitchen, cleaned the dishes, yada yada yada. You guys don't really want to hear all this. Sorry, I'm just buying time here. I don't really know what to talk about.
I could feel the sweet craving of chocolate in my gut. I wanted to reach out and get chocolate, but there's nothing here. Guys, I'm not kidding I'm craving this stuff. You guys know the feeling you get when you want something? Well, this is that, just 10 times worse. I lean over on the sink, holding it tightly in my hand, trying to control it. Guys, this is so bad!
"Come any closer and I will bite that hand off." I growl to the shuffling of feet behind me. He stayed quiet, and with the small rustle of clothes, I knew his hand went down. Damn, my senses are heightened. Even down to the strong cologne which, by the way, smell's terrible. Its way too strong. "Good."
"Don't mind her." a new set of foots steps walked into the kitchen. "There's nothing wrong, she's having chocolate withdrawals!"
"Don't think that I won't bite your and either Haruhi." I turn to her with murderous. "I need my chocolate, or some sort of lolly at least. I'm desperate."
Hikaru hasn't moved at all, but finally spoke. "But there's nothing here." He stupidly points out the obvious.
"I know that. Do you think I'd be complaining if I had some? I was searched this morning before I left the house by this chick. So I haven't even had my morning-walk-to-school chocolate, so I'm struggling." I growl at him. I can't believe how unbelievable stupid he is.
"Wow, no need to be so rude." He scoffed at me.
I spun around really quickly, "Me? Rude? You little piece of - OW OW! HEY!" I shout in pain as I'm dragged from the kitchen by the ear. "I didn't even get to bite him!" I yelled as she dragged me into the hallway.
…
Haruhi P.O.V
…
"Stop acting like a brat." I say with a bored tone as I drag her out into the hallway, my fingers wrapped tightly around her ear.
Bent over, she growled at me, "But I didn't even get to bite him!"
I think she's taking this as this as bad as Honey-senpai. "Georgia, you're a first year, turning 16. You do not bite people." My tone was flat, but fierce, like a parent who has given up on her child. When I really think about it, she acts like a child…except when it comes to magic.
"I'll bite you."
"I can still hear you."
"It's so not fair! How come I can't hear you! Like ever!" I had finally let go of her ear, and she rubbed it to sooth it.
Out of reaction I replied, "Because I know how to stay quiet." I stopped walking, looking at the clock tower. Why can't she hear my thoughts? I hear her like she's talking directly to me, but, has there even been a time where she heard me? Maybe because my powers are linked to thoughts and the mind, it allows me to seep into her mind without trouble. With no resistance.
"Haruhi!" A whispered tug on my arm pulls me behind a pillar.
Georgia peered out at the hallway across from us. It was Mori and a girl from host club today. I noticed her sitting with him, I think she had only just pulled him away. He stood there, silent as always, looming over her with his enormous height, right hand shoved in his pocket. There was no emotion on his face, but stoic. Emotionless.
"I just can't hide it any longer. I have to get this off my chest. I need to know what your feelings are towards me and if you'll accept my love." The two of us stayed quiet as the girl spoke in a soft tone. Her grey eyes were filled with hope, but worry. "Will you please?" the girl pleaded, "Unless of course there is someone else….Please tell me. Is there someone else who is dear to you?" Mori didn't even move, and she began to tear up, "There is, isn't there?" From here, I saw a twinkle in her eye of small tears reflecting the afternoon sun. "I should have known."
She ran away crying, whilst Mori just stood there, watching her go.
The brown haired girl in front of me just stared, before she spoke. "That's just cruel…" Georgia whispered, eyes lingering on Mori, "I didn't think he could be so mean." she began to walk away, but her eyes were still lingering on the tall figure.
"I was careless. It's all my fault. I did this."
I straighten at the voice, and it was a deep, sorrowful voice. But, the only person I can actually hear is Georgia. Well, she's the only person I've ever heard. The laws of magic are so confusing, I don't even know where to begin. One piece of evidence of magic on earth came from my mother and those books, and the hours and hours that I spent scanning every little detail just…it came up fruitless.
"Haruhi!" A gust of wind pushes my hair back, and I blink from dry eyes. "Stop day dreaming. We're going home."
I rubbed the tears away from my eyes, "Was that you? Why are you using magic in school? Isn't there some sort of magic law about letting humans see you use magic? Or even Winter's rule?"
"Well kinda, but since when do I listen to the rules?"
I raise my eyebrows, "All the time?"
"Or so you think." She walked away from me with a wink.
…
Later that night at the Fujioka's.
..
'Queen Ophelia, the first recorded Queen of Asteria, is regarded as one of the most mysterious rulers of all. She left the kingdom without so much as a goodbye to anyone. '
From there it became Queen Luna and King Florian, and it just goes on and on and on. Why is this so complicated! I can understand the
My head hit the desk in frustration. Queen, after Queen, after King after King. It's all about the history of the kings and Queens of Asteria and how some sort of life changing moment which caused either a new law or a magical principal.
In all honesty, it sounds like some made up bull crap just to get reads. I'm sorry Mum, but it doesn't make any sense. "These are just old fairy tales."
"Somewhat. Think of it more as a bent truth." The voice was soft, almost childish but still slightly mature voice.
It took me by surprise, and I stood with a gasp. I tried to scream, but no sound came out. My hands latched around my throat in a panicked motion. It's like my voice was taken from me. I could barely squeak, let alone scream.
"Hi." There, cloaked in a giant, white dress with long, flowing sleeves. It reached the floor, and it almost looked like it was way too big for her, length wise anyway. Around her neck, she wore a multi coloured star, a six sided one. The gold stood out with a shine against the white dress, and gold, dangling earrings to match. Her hair was left long and flowing, ash blonde mixed into it, along with dark blonde and just blonde in general. It was waving, reaching to her lower back.
But her eyes. They were stunning. They were brown, but so bright. So full of hope. But who is she?
"Don't freak out." She says holding out her hands to calm me down, "I'm a friend."
I don't even know who you are…Is what I wanted to say, but no words could leave my lips. It was honestly the strangest feeling, not having a voice. All you can feel is the air rushing out of our throat, you can feel the vibrations in your throat but…they don't make a sound.
"Oh right sorry." With the flick of her wrist, I felt my throat tingle. "Actually, we don't need this anymore." With another wave of her hand, everything disappeared, and we were left standing in darkness. It reminded me of the Dreamscape.
"Who are you?" I saw watching her cautiously. She looked bubbly, with a bright smile, and bright brown eyes. She was stunning to look at. Hold up, I know that voice…"You…" I tilt my head to the side, "It was you in my head at the market place. You helped me transform…"
The satisfied smile on her face told me I was right, "Yep." she popped her p. "That was me. I knew you were a smart cookie."
"That still doesn't tell me who-" She cut me off.
"I don't have time for introductions now." She said, moving her hand like a mouth, and shutting it, and I felt my voice leave again. "Sorry." She grimaced.
My hands clasped themselves around my throat. She has magic in the Dreamscape, I thought that was impossible…
"And I'm gonna stop you right there. This isn't the Dreamscape, I'm quite literally a vision in your dream." So, I'm dreaming right now? But that would make her a person from my subconscious, she can't actually be real. "And I'm definitely real. But back to the main point. I can help you. Did you see the blank page at the back of the book? It's not actually blank. There's something hidden there. Don't give up, Blayze lies."
Something hidden? Blayze lies? What's this got to do with anything?
"Haruhi, stop thinking and listen. I'm trapped in Asteria, and only you can get me out. Please, I need you."
"…" I tried to talk, but nothing left my lips. Me? How does she know me? This girl, she doesn't even look that much older than me. But I've never seen her before either…So how does she know me? As she just said before, it's just a dream so how can I really be sure if anything is real? Maybe the stress is getting to me.
"Haruhi, please listen to me. I need your help and your help alone. Only you ca…please…save…Aste…I…" Everything was beginning to fade in and out, like a bad signal. Her voice cut in and out, and it screamed louder and louder until there was nothing…
…
And then I sat up. I was back in my room, just how I had left it. The book was on my desk, papers and pencils with scribbles on them everywhere, but with a quick glance around the room…there was nothing out of place. No girl standing behind me, no darkness, it was just…ordinary.
With one final glance round my room, I turn my gaze to the open book in front of me. I ran my fingers along the page that was open in front of me before flipping through them to the very last page. This was the only page with nothing written on it.
It was just a pure, blank page. The edges slightly warn, with the corners curved upwards. The paper was like the rest, it felt no different. Just tinged brown from time rotting away in the cabinet. I tried waving my hand over it, hoping for anything, but I felt no magic. No light no nothing.
Maybe it responds to sounds.
"Magic spell reveal and show, what I seek, what I must know…" I said aloud a spell from an old t.v show I watched when I was younger, but there was no reaction.
Why isn't my magic working? I've done it before, so why won't it work now? Well, I could think of a few…the main one being, I DON'T UNDERSTAND MAGIC! Why is this so hard! It's not like I can study, I have no material to read over, no textbooks or formulas to help me practice. And Georgia is trying to teach me, but how can she teach me a power that she doesn't even have?
Maybe Winter can help me. But maybe not.
…
Georgia P.O.V
…
"So she just appeared in your dream, told you a broken message then left? Well this is just greats isn't it?" I announce to the empty classroom, plopping myself down on the chair.
"But it doesn't even make any logical sense. I've never seen her before, even though the subconscious takes people you see on the street and can insert them into dreams. But it all felt so real. I just…I just don't understand it." Haruhi sighs, before pulling out the book, "This doesn't help either. There's nothing on that last page. I think it would just be a fluke. Some stupid dream."
As much as I want to think that it's real, I don't have a reason to, well except the fact that magic and dreams are probably really connected. But even then, it could be a dream. "I don't know Haruhi."
I watched as she stared at that blank page. There was nothing magical on there. Not even my magic can detect something. "Based on my magic's response, it's just a regular page."
"She said only I could help. But my magic didn't work either."
"You know, I'm beginning to think this is all some sort of joke. Nothing is going right, and everything is 'a mess! I hate everything! This is so goddamn stupid." I rest my head on my desk, using my arms as a pillow.
I want to get home, I miss my world…but they're all gone. I haven't heard from Che', and Blayze told me himself she's dead. Liam, James, Yuki…Oh god Yuki. Blayze has her magic, and I can't even imagine what that process would have been like. It's like losing a body part, it's like losing your heart and having it shoved into someone else's chest. Or, so I've been told. Magic Transfer was made illegal because of the suffering the Enchanted went through having their magic removed. It always ends the same way…with death.
Liam would have fought until his last breath, the stubborn bastard. It would have gotten him killed. I loved that about him. God, I miss them all so much, but they're…they're
"They're not. Blayze lies. He's the villain, it's what he does. Are you seriously going to believe his words? I thought you knew better than this."
I sat my head up quickly, looking her right in the eye. "Well how do you know it's not true? What happens if I get my hopes up, go back home and find that everything he said was true! What then?"
"But that girl, she told me-"
"She told you he lies, I know. I feel like I should know it too. But Haruhi…I just don't want to be there alone, hoping that there is someone still out there. I want to believe it. But I can't."
I felt tears in my eyes, but the more I thought about it, the more I didn't know what to believe.
The two of us were silent, and I wish I could see into her mind right now, "I'm sorry, it's just…stupid that's all."
"Actually what's stupid is you guys sitting in an empty classroom because class was cancelled." Two harmonious voices say, coming from I'm assuming the door.
"Hikaru, Kaoru, what are you guys doing here?" Haruhi eyed them suspiciously.
What did they hear? Oh my god, how long were they standing there? Did they hear me talk about magic?
The twins pushed themselves off the door frame and made their way over to the desks Haruhi and I were sitting at. They had their own suspicions too. Hikaru especially. I saw him eyeing the book on the desk, almost glaring at it, but broke his stare when his brother spoke.
"We came to get you." He stated.
"You guys are almost late for host club." His amber eyes glanced over me, but then back to the book. "So we need to go. Now."
I rolled my eyes, snatching the book from is gaze. "No need to be rude." I glare, grabbing my bag, and heading towards the door with Haruhi leading the way. The twins ran to keep up with us, Hikaru and Kaoru went to either side of us. Kaoru on my left, and Hikaru on Haruhi's right.
"So, what's that book you guys were looking at?" Kaoru asks.
"Nothing. Just a book."
"You guys were staring blankly at it in silence." Hikaru speaks up, giving me a look that showed he obviously didn't believe me.
I roll my eyes towards the annoying voice, "Do you want me to break your nose with it? I'm sure it wouldn't be a problem." I snap back, with an almost evil/childish look.
"Guys, don't. We should be worried about Honey senpai right now." Haruhi says looking through the host club door. And I saw it too. Honey's scream filled the air, and I saw as he clutched his cheek tightly. He was in pain.
"You're not fully recovered yet." Mori's voice filled my ears, and I turned to watch him walk away with an icy pole in his hand.
…
Mori is so mean! Oh well, we all know what happens, the sweet guy!
Let's ask a question: What is your favourite type of lolly and why?
Anyway, let me know what you think by leaving a review! And I'll see you in the next chapter!
Until Next Time!
