I had barely slept all night, in anticipation for what Klaus would reveal to me today. He had arrived yesterday morning along with his brother. I had word Elijah mikaelson the 2nd in line of succession for the Mikaelson family had been seen. Looking through the royal families books I found a picture of him, revealing to me he was the man I had seen in the garden. But he hadn't hurt me... why.

"Are you crazy?!" I sighed as I came face to face with Kai Parker. My boyfriend who seemed almost too perfect. But lately he seemed off, I had accidentally opened a letter from his father and before I even got a chance to read it he blew up at me angrily with rage.

I hadn't talked to him since and that was three days ago.

"Caroline are you just going to ignore me?" He groaned as I continued walking down the corridor. The way my name rolled off his lips made a shiver run down my back.

"Leave me be Kai... you've hurt me." From the corner of my eye I saw him flinch back by the accusation. He pulled me into a seemingly empty room and pushed me against the door gently.

"I apologize Caroline... matters with my family leave me feeling quite angry. I don't love them and I never have, they are people of great horror. I mean you of all people know the most." I gulped knowing how abusive his father had been.

I looked up at him letting clear guilt riddle my face before I laid my lips on his and let myself fall into it.

He twisted his hands into my curls and let his palms rest on my backside.

"Princess I didn't realize this was where we'd be meeting." My eyes shot open to reveal a shirtless Klaus staring at me from his full length mirror. Kai jumped off of me in fear.

"Klaus." I said his name with no shame as I pulled the strap to my dress back up on my shoulder. "Nor did I."

"I should go." Kai stated to me as he went to turn.

"Lord Parker?" Klaus let Kai's official title drip from his mouth causing Kai to stop in his tracks.

"Leave him be." I snapped at Klaus he turned buttoning his final button.

"Your family are quite good people, I assume you've gotten your fathers message?" I notice Kai fidget and quickly glance at me.

"Kai is part of my royal court do not speak to him." I bit at Klaus stepping between him and Kai. He held his hands up in surrender.

"Yes princess he is part of your kingdom but-" Kai lurched forward pushing Klaus roughly.

"Kai!" I yelled knowing he'd just messed up by laying his hands on a royal.

Klaus smiled before easily grabbing Kai and delivering a crackling punch to his gut. I cringed at the horrendous sound of his ribs breaking.

Anger filled my entire body as I saw Kai the person I'd grown up with fly into a bookshelf and fall unconsciously to the ground. Klaus rubbed at his knuckles with a seemingly proud look on his face that I quickly took away as I grabbed his shoulders taking him by surprise and forcefully kneeing him in the groin. He fell with an oof leaving me smiling.

"Guards!" Two men without missing a beat entered the room. They would of heard the debacle if they had been stationed where the were supposed to be.

Take these mean to separate cells I will attend to them later." I ordered my guards whilst grabbing a powdered herb from my pouch and blowing it into the pained kings face. It would keep him down at least for right now.

"And what of the the dark kings guards." I noticed the guards voice to match guard Levi's.

"The king and his brother each have a guard on the inside, both seem to be with Kol. He also has eight stationed on the outside of our gate ready to aid him at any point. We will be fine against my hundreds, now go." They quickly grabbed Kai and Klaus hauling them to the underground prison.

I ran my hands through my hair letting the wild curls break free. I breathed in and out realizing I hadn't simple breathed in so long.

"Caroline the guards are taking Kai!" Bonnie yelled whipping around the corner with an angry Kol at her feet.

"And not to mention my brother." Kol yelled. His two guards along with my two followed behind him all with a hand tightly around their swords

"Silence." I matched there tone with an even fiercer one. "They are both being held in the cells until I say other wise another word from either one of you and you may join them." Bonnie looked at me surprised by my statement.

"Our king will not be bound to any confinement. You must release him now." One of the guard fiercely spoke. Quickly I shoved the man against the stone wall and pulled up my dress revealing a dagger strapped around my thigh. I pushed it against his throat and watched him swallow intently.

"You are only here because of the king and prince if want to banish you from the kingdom I will. My authority is what you follow as soon as those feet cross into my court. Do you understand?" The man looked into my eyes. His brown ones glared daggers into my hazels.

"I will follow my kings orders and he wishes me to respect you so yes I suppose I will follow your authority." I ripped my self free from his body and quickly concealed my weapon back into place.

I raised my hand telling my guards to back down.

"Now leave me." I walked into the room slowly lowering myself to my knees.

"Caroline..." Bonnie gave me one look and new I was close to breaking. She pushed the men out of the room and shut the door behind her.

I started picking up glass and books as I began sobbing.

Bonnie bit at her fingernails from the corner of the room watching me nervously. She was upset but she also felt bad for me.

"Shit..." I looked down at the blood that slowly dripped from my fingers. I just watched it drip to the floor in slow motion before quickly Bonnie was at my side aiding me.

"Caroline you have a lot on your plate right now and truth be told you always will. You're a queen and even if it seems impossible you need to stand up, keep your head held high, and you need to be the best leader this kingdom has ever had. Do you think you can do that?" I wiped the tears that riddled my face and breathed in a rattled breath.

"I guess I have to, right?" I said with a tear filled smile. Bonnie smiled and slowly lifted her hands to wipe my tears.

"You don't have to. You could give up, you could pass the crown on to someone else but we both know no one will rule even half as good as you. Coronation day is in a few nights time. You'll be crowned and officially the Queen of the light kingdom. Now look me in the eyes and tell me you can't do this and... I'll believe you okay." I looked her in the eyes but the words never left my lips.

"Kai hit Klaus... I had to send both of them or Kai would be killed." Bonnies eyes widened but surprise wasn't there, annoyance took its place.

"Why does he continue to do such idiotic things. I constantly worry for him, I'm unsure how much more I can take." I scanned the girl before me and for the first time I felt like I was seeing something that had been infront of me this whole time.

"Bonnie?" She made eye contact with me and somehow she knew I knew. "You love him... don't you?" She gulped and I watched as her face turned ghostly pale.

"Princess could you join me?" I turned to see who entered the room. I stood ignoring my current state and tried to ooze confidence. "Prince Elijah it's nice to see you face to face. It's better than you hiding in the shadows studying me..." he looked me up and down and the sheer mystery that surrounded him drew me in.

"Ms. Forbes I would like to discuss my brother with you." I rolled my eyes.

"I will not release him as of right now furthermore I have business to attend to." I went to glide past him but quick as a whip he grabbed my upper arm.

"Do not trust him." He hissed in my ear before turning on his heels and disappearing down the hall.

"Charlie, Gordon... don't let him out of your sight." I ordered my guards who happened to be rounding the corner to my hallway.

They rushed off in his direction and I frowned knowing he'd probably be long gone. I needed better security and the only plan that came to me would take every single person in the kingdom to work together.

"Bon I'm going to fix things I promise. I'll be back if you don't mind send a maiden to clean this mess up." Before she could say anything I turned and fast walked to my room soon I would arrive in the underground prison cells.

--

I passed by advisors who tried to stop me and ask me questions but I ignored them and kept my feet moving. I slowly walked down each step leading lower and lower beneath the kingdom.

"The future Queen will have your head for this, she would never send me down here you idiotic piece of sh-"

"KAI." I stopped him from finishing his sentence and he smiled as he made eye contact with me.

"Care please explain to me what is happening." I smirked nodding my head making the guard open the cell.

"You're a stubborn fool that's what happened." He grabbed my face between his palms and kissed me passionately.

"I've missed you." He said staring into my eyes while resting his forehead against mine.

"Do all of your prisoners get such treatment." I rolled my eyes and turned around to see Klaus smirking at me through the small bars in his cell door.

"You Kai have laid your hands on a very powerful king, and you king have laid your hands on a trusted lord of my court. Sign this contract and you'll both be released with no further punishment." Both men scoffed.

"That or I can hold you both in here until after my coronation which I will then as Queen order both of you to be castrated." They're face turned sour as I handed both of them a contract with a large smile.

"Where's the feather?" Klaus sighed. I handed him in through the cells but was caught off guard as he snatched my hand Kai immediately reached forward but I held a hand out stopping him.

"Guards take Mr. Parker to my lady Bennett." They hesitated but with a quick glare from me they grabbed ahold of Kai and dragged him away throwing me the cell keys as Kai yelled at me for always being so stubborn. I caught the keys with one hand and went back to glaring at Klaus.

Klaus' hands remained on me he seemed to be studying me.

"What are you always looking at?" I demanded from him. I was tired of his restless attempts to make me fear him. "I'm not scared of you!" This took him by surprise he spread open my hand and revealed the cut to me.

"You're hurt." I gulped as he said the statement with no affliction. He plucked the feather out of my grasp and quickly signed the paper before handing both the paper and feather back to me. Immediately I unlocked the cell. He fell into me and I finally took in his actual state. He was pale and sweaty it looked as if he hadn't ate or drank in days. The guards must of pumped him full of vervain to keep him down.

"Here." I sat him on the bench outside of his cell and gave him my drinking bottle.

"No caroline." He laughed.

"I need blood." I revolted for a moment before I realized he wasn't going to take it from me. He looked up at me with sad eyes that he quickly hardened.

"Here." I pushed my hair to the side and revealed my pulsing neck.

"You wouldn't really trust me... would you?" He mumbled.

"We run two very powerful kingdoms. I know you are powerful but please see me... I'm strong as hell Klaus and I will fight you back I will not by any means go easy. Many people would die if we went to war so... I think it's best we trust one another. So, please... drink." He stared at me for a couple passing moments before he reached one hand forward and cupped the back of my neck and pulled me onto his lap. I straddled him feeling awkward as each leg rested on either side of him. I felt him slightly push his waist into mine.

"Let's just do this." I sighed slightly out of breath. He smirked recognizing my blush.

He played with a piece of my blonde hair before slowly leaning forward and piercing my skin. I felt the blood pull from my veins and moaned as it stung it's way around my throat. I listened to his careful sucks and felt my hormones overpower me. I threw my head back as the sensation began to feel intoxicating. But just as it did he pulled back.

"Ahhh delicious." I felt sickness riddle my body as blood trailed it's way down his chin.

"You have..." he raised his eyebrows questioning what I was going to say. "Here." I wiped the blood off with my thumb feeling my body heat up as he took my thumb into his mouth and sucked the blood off.

I quickly got up off of him and watched him smirk at my flustered state.

"Today didn't start out as I hoped it would but there is much I still wish to discuss with you.

"Here." I ran my hand through his hair relieving it from its tired state. "No king will walk through my court looking unpresentable. This is much better now." I said with a smile as I indicated to his hair.

"Thank you princess." There was a moment of silence between us that made me feel oddly guilty.

I coughed interrupting the silence before saying, "Follow me I want to show you something."
