Hey guys! Honestly, I didn't like this chapter to much, everything seemed so rushed and messy, but I kinda hope you guy's enjoy this rollercoaster. So, let me know what you think, but I am honestly in love with the ending. I've also just restarted unis so updates might be even slower, so apologies in advance.
Anyway, special thanks to: Dobby908, Susu-nim, lanyahwilliams06, foxchick1 and OtakuuCrazy for following me and the story! You guys are amazing and welcome to the family!
Animelover: Agreed, I'd love to stay at that place! It looks so nice! Also, I totally agree with out about Hikaru and Georgia.
Guest: Well, Ren is definitely an interesting character. And as much as I would love to talk about him, in the next two chapters you'll have to find out in the next chapter or so! And Rocky is just a young kid, basically has no purpose in the story but I thought it'd just be cute to put him in there.
DarkSideOfWonderland: First off, can I just say how much I love your name? Like, honestly, it's really cool! And yes! We'll totally see Haruhi meet Roselle's friends!
Foxchick1: Well, here it is! Sorry that it's not as exciting!
…
Crystal woke me up earlier that morning, desperate to visit town because it was the market weekend. Which means I had to get up early, because the drive into town is like half an hour.
The Centenary Lake grounds spring to life as market place stalls pop up. People selling potted plants, fruits and vegetables, snow cones, crafted items, general food stalls. The whole lot. Mika loves her fresh stuff, but she had to deal with one of our new horses.
"The markets are so good today!" Crys smiles, running up to one of the stalls, "Check this out!" She smiles, holding up a blue wooden rose.
I felt my stomach drop as I remembered my dream. Hikaru…
"G?" I snap my head up at Crystals voice, "You good?"
I nod at her, before we continue on with the markets.
…
Hours Later…because I can't be bothered writing about it.
…
Guys, I just can't get it out of my head. That dream, as hazy as it is, I remember that feeling that it gave me. And Hikaru's eyes, they match the guy from my dreams. So, does that mean that I kinda…like Hikaru? Not in a sense of romance or anything, more of the fact that I don't hate him anymore.
Could that dream have been subconscious me telling real me that I'm not angry anymore? That over time my anger and pain has just kinda, fizzled out?
I still want my necklace back, but, I don't really know how to explain it. I've blamed Hikaru for so long, because it was his fault, he took my necklace. He sold it. What kind of person does that?
But it still doesn't make sense.
I know that when it's us alone, I can't help but be mad or angry. But, the past few times, my stomach gave me another feeling. But I can't really place my finger on it. Nerves?
But still, like I said before it doesn't make sense.
Why would my emotions change towards him all of a sudden? He's still done something wrong, and heck, I could still go to the police for it. I think. Maybe it's a little too late now.
Even Kyoya couldn't find who owned it. RedRage1711, that's all we have. And who knows when I'll get it back. If I get it back.
I wish I had been more careful with it! Now, I've lost Azalea's power, and the last piece of our home world.
"Please…" He pleaded, "Just give me a chance to make it up to you."
At least he's trying? Honestly, I kind of enjoy the fact that I matter so much to him. That he just doesn't give up. So much…determination. He's not backing down.
A small smile crept on my face as I thought about him and his brother laughing together. Those random times he checks if I'm laughing too. Which, usually I weren't, but on the inside, I'm smiling right alone side him.
So, I guess I don't hate him anymore? You guys impressed? I think I'm done being angry, I'm just, I don't know. Now I kinda feel sad? The fact that I still don't have my necklace back.
Crystal's blue eyes appear in my face, "What are you smiling at?" She smirks, and I give a small chuckle.
"I just worked out that I don't actually hate the person I've been hating for so long. And…" My smile got bigger, "I kinda feel good about it." She smirked, walking beside me as we head away from the markets. "Hang on, we were barely at the markets?"
Crystal holds up her bag of goodies, "Whilst you were daydreaming I got everything done. And here, I even got you this." She handed me a blue rose. "Now, they're fragile as all hell, so don't drop it."
I looked at the pretty carved thing, it kinda reminds me of the host club, "Thanks." I notice that Crystal still had this big smirk on her face, "What is it?"
"Soooooo…" she drags it out, "You and Ren?" Her eyebrows rise up and down, and I roll my eyes.
"What about us?"
"Come on, you can't tell me there's nothing going on between you two!" She pounced around, extremely happy that this was our conversation topic, "I saw the way you two looked at one another."
"Excuse me?"
She just rolled her eyes at me as we began walking through town. "I'm just saying that you two would be really cute together!" She smiled at me, eyes almost pleading.
"Isn't he like seventeen or something? And I'm fifteen."
"Well, you're almost sixteen. Which is close enough."
I sigh, continuing to fiddle with the rose, "Well, I don't like him. I mean, he's cute and all-"
"HA!" She exclaims, "You think he's cute!"
"As I was saying, he's too…what's the word for it?" I say to myself.
But I wasn't expecting an answer from her, "Perfect!" she says with dreamy eyes, stopping in front of a shop window.
"What?" I raise an eyebrow, "No-"
"No!" She drags me back to one of the windows of a shop we had just passed, looking inside the shop with the distant day-dreamy look in her eyes. "He's perfect." She points to a guy in the shop.
I have to squint to see what she was looking at, because the glare on the glass made it hard to see.
But, I didn't have to look so hard. Inside there was a boy wearing a white sleeveless hoodie, long blue jeans. His headphones sat around his neck like an added piece of style, which kinda worked. His messy orange hair bounced as he laughed with the girl he was with.
Something…broke, inside of me.
He's there, with another girl. Hikaru never leaves his brother, much less for someone he would barely know. From the back, that girl has two long pony tails, wearing a pink and blue dress. She must have said something pretty funny because the two didn't seem to stop laughing.
"Isn't he gorgeous?" Crystal swooned, as I glare.
I begin to stomp away, throwing my rose to the ground in anger. My strides were long and strong, I just needed to get away. I don't know why, but seeing him with someone else, just, hurts. But I don't get it!
I don't feel for Hikaru, and I never have, so why exactly am I feeling this right now? Feeling betrayed?
"G?" She shouted, running after me, "Hey, you ok?"
I put on a clearly fake smile, "Never been better." She gives me a concerned look as I made it to the silver Ute, waiting for her to open it. Which she did. "Let's just say that I'm still mad at the person I thought I forgave."
…
Haruhi P.O.V
…
I'd been hearing this voice all day. It had been really soft to listen to, but I could only just make out what they were saying. They were forgiving someone.
"Doesn't this look like Tamaki?" I held up a plush toy in the shape of a poo, which had a rose in hand, and a blonde wig on.
Hikaru and I just stared at it before we burst out laughing. It was really good to see him on his own for once. Not relying on Kaoru to help him be his own person.
"He's there, with another girl…"
The voice came through more clearly this time. "Georgia?" I spun around quickly, fast enough to see brown haired girl leave the shop window a blonde haired girl race away from the window after her.
Hikaru had seen it too. That small glimpse of the girl made him run out of the shop, so I followed after him. "Hikaru!" I shouted as he just kinda ran off. I can't really keep up with him, but he stopped, picking something up.
A blue rose.
"I swear it was Georgia." He said, eyes looking like they were full of worry, "Do you think she…saw us?"
"Did I just…ruin things more?"
My breath hitched in my throat. That was Hikaru…how did his voice get inside my head? That's never happened before. I definitely have to talk to Georgia about it.
"I don't know." Thunder began to rumble in the distance, and I felt a small wave of panic rush though me, "Did you just hear that?" I ask Hikaru.
He just shrugged, placing his hands in his pockets. "What? No, I didn't hear anything." He looked to the sky, as did I, noticing the quick appearance of the darker coloured clouds, "It does look like it's going to rain, though. Think we should head back?"
I nod, a litter eagerly, "Probably."
"Then, let's head to the street and hail a cab, 'kay?" Hikaru suggests, before a voice calls out from behind us.
One which could probably make things so much worse right now, "Is that you, Fujioka?" I turn to Arai with a smile, feeling good to see him again, "What are you up to?"
"Hey Arai, I didn't expect to see you out here." I say, walking over to him, as he holds a big box full of fruits and vegetables.
"Well, this is my uncle's store." He motions to the store before looking at my bag, "You guys out doing some shopping?"
"We were, but now we're about to leave." I say, trying to control myself when I hear another round of thunder echoed through the town.
"Yeah? We've got a car that can take you back. Just let me ask my uncle." Arai sweetly suggests.
I really want to get out of here, and be somewhere that I can hide, and cover myself in covers and wait it out, "Uh, well I don't wanna be a bother."
But as always, he was just sweet, "It's no problem. I wouldn't want you to get caught in the rain."
Hikaru then chimes in, clear traces of annoyance in his voice, "Don't worry about it, we're getting a taxi."
Arai didn't see his negative attitude, nor his death glares. "Come on, don't waste your money on a taxi."
Thunder once again boomed, and I felt my stomach drop. My hand clenched my bag tighter as the clouds got darker, "Uh, hey, why don't we accept his offer? The sooner we get home, the better." I nervously laugh, singling for Hikaru to come with us.
"Well, I guess you'll be riding home alone, then." He glares at me, before walking off in the other direction.
"But, Hikaru…" I call out to him.
But he spun around the growl at me, "Just do whatever you want, okay! You guys should catch up and reminisce, but leave me out of it!" He shouts, before sprinting off down the street.
"I'm losing you too…"
"Wait!" I call out, but he was gone.
I couldn't take my eyes away from where he had just run away from.
"Not again. Why's he so upset about you hanging out with an old friend? I mean surely he's got some of his own, right?" Arai said, trying to reason the situation off.
I gasp, realising what he had said to me yesterday. 'The two of us have been together since we were born. So we haven't ever needed any other friends.'
Everything just fell into place. Hikaru, he thinks that he's losing me to Arai. He thinks he's lost Georgia because of the necklace fiasco. We, out of all the hosts fell into the twin's world, and we stayed. We were different to the hosts, and he think that we're leaving them. Leaving him all alone.
"I'm sorry Arai, I have to go find him." I wave him off, "Thank you for the offer though!" I then begin to run after him, hearing a soft goodbye in the distance from Arai.
Come on Hikaru…where are you?
…
"Killer storm." Crystal notes as we jump out of the car.
"I've made worse." I mumble walking away, heading for the house.
"What'd you say?" Crys runs after me and I realise what I've just said.
I call back over my shoulder. "I said I've seen worse."
Why would he be out with another girl? Wait, why am I so angry about this? He's allowed to hang out with other people, and he does chat up girls every other day. But, why is this so different?
Because Kaoru wasn't there…
Of course, Hikaru is never on his own, and whenever he's chatting up a girl, he's with his brother. That's when I know it's an act. But…he was on his own. Does that mean…it was real? A real date with a real girl? Am I…jealous? "Better not be." I grumble to myself as I barge into my bed room and flop into the bed. I just don't understand what's going on in my head.
"Better not be what?" A British voice filled my ears, and I rolled over with a groan.
"What are you doing in my room?" I glare at the ceiling, grabbing a pillow and holding it to my chest. My eyes wander to where the voice came from.
Ren was there, shirtless, sitting at my desk and chair. "Well technically…this is my room."
Oh damn, he's right.
"I resent that!" I shout sticking my hand up in the air in objection before letting it flop to the bed.
He smirked, getting off his chair, sticking the pen behind his ear. "I mean, you can stay with me in here if you want." He raised his eyebrows up and down. "You don't seem to like your new room. You won't stay there."
I raise an eyebrow at him, "What?"
"Last night, you weren't in your room."
You're kidding me…He noticed? "Yes I was?" I argue, with fake confusion on my face.
His dark green eyes poured into mine, almost maliciously. I sat up at the look, and he smirks at me, "Well, when I got up you weren't there."
"Oh…" My brain is spinning trying to work out what to say, "Wait, what were you doing in my room?
He rolled his eyes at me, "You're avoiding the question."
"Am not!" I fight back, standing up to leave, but he blocks my path.
"Are too." He smirks, "So where were you?"
I try to walk around but he shifts to the side, "It must have been when I got up to check the horses." I smoothly lie, trying to walk around again, but he still doesn't move.
"You know that's my job." He raised a suspicious eyebrow with ease.
I shrug my shoulders, "So that would be why everything was full."
Ren eyed my suspiciously, arching an eyebrow once more. "Alright then…" He let me pass, and I walked across the hall to my room.
"Can you and your eyebrows please stay out of my room?" I growled slamming the door, flopping onto my own bed as the thunder and lightning crashed, lighting up my room. That's when I noticed the heavy rain pouring down.
I sat up in surprise.
It's such a big storm. I hope Haruhi is inside.
I wonder if I can reach her from here? Our connection is pretty strong, so I don't see why not. "Haruhi? Can you hear me?"
I sat waiting for a response, watching the raindrops trickle down the window. Haruhi, you're really taking your time to respond. "Everything ok?"
More lightning flashed, followed closely by a deep rumble. A high pitched scream echoed my head, and I pulled a hand to my ear.
Flash, Boom!
I gasp in realisation, it was Haruhi.
She's scared by the storm. "Haruhi! Where are you?" I mentally shout, hoping to hear that she was at the bed and breakfast, likely in Tamaki's protecting arms…but was only met with whimpering.
I head downstairs, moving straight to the landline. Beside it, there was a yellow book of numbers in the area. "P….P…" I mumble to myself, knowing that the place starts with a K. We used to do linked horse riding lessons with it. There's a trail that leads from the back of their place to ours. "P…Pension Misuzu!"
The number was simple enough to dial in, and within a few rings I heard a familiar voice, "Helloooooo! This is Pension Misuzu!" The over enthusiastic voices calls into the phone.
"Hey Misuzu, its Georgia from-"
"Oh hello my dear Georgia! So good to hear from you!" I could just see his/her excited face as she heard me on the phone, "What can I do for you?"
I feel my heart racing, panicking thinking something's wrong, "Um, my friend, Haruhi, is working for you over the holidays. She's not answering me, so I was wondering if you could check on her?"
There was a small piece of silence, before she spoke again, "Haruhi's been out with a friend of hers, Hikaru. They haven't returned home yet. Actually, I got a phone call just before saying that Haruhi was looking for Hikaru in town."
My stomach dropped at the site, "Oh…" I muster, "Thank you Misuzu."
"No worries, I'll get someone onto Hikaru, he would have his cell on him." She says sweetly. "Goodbye now!"
"Bye." I hung up the phone.
She isn't there. She's out, in this storm. I mean, she has Hikaru right? Wait, was that who was with him? Haruhi? I felt my heart plummet, before. I'm such an idiot!
I have to find her. I have to make sure she's alright.
"Mika! I'm going to bed!" I call out, running into my room.
"So you don't want dinner?" She shouted back from the kitchen.
"No thanks!" I shout back shutting my door, locking it from the inside. I stand in the middle of the room, calming my beating heart. "Alright Haruhi, I'm coming for you."
And with that, I disappear.
…
The rain didn't help while I was running through town. Water soaked into my socks as I ran, following Haruhi's magic trail. It was faint, but I could only just pick it up. .
I passed that shop that I saw Hikaru in, feeling Haruhi's magical presence in there. Or at least had been in there. So it was her…"God I'm such an idiot!"
Flash, Boom.
I pick up running again, sprinting past anyone who was brave enough to be our here. See, what you guys can't see in this purple faint glowing trail.
It's kinda like how dogs can pick up a trail of a person, I can pick up the trail of magic residue. You guys understand?
"Georgia, what's going on? I can feel your magic from here!" I heard Winter's voice echo through my head. I don't even know how far away she is.
I push the wet hair from my shoulder, "I'm trying to find Haruhi!"
My trail becomes a more solid colour as the road turns into one made of dirt. It's heading towards the church.
"Not that! The storm!"
I look up to the sky, seeing the clouds light up, before the thunder rumbles. "Bloody hell," I groan, standing outside the church.
This storm…it's my fault. And I didn't even realise. I just put Haruhi through this…I can't believe I'm such a terrible friend.
I walk into the church, noticing that one of the table cloths were missing. Other than that, the rooms were identical to one another.
My trail was right, when I noticed pools of water on the floor, trailing to the table which is still covered in a table cloth. Haruhi…
I approach it slowly, crouching down before pulling up the cloth. She was wrapped in the table cloth, eyes shut, headphone enclosed over her ears. A strong, comforting arm was draped around her shoulders, pulling her close.
"Hikaru…"
He gives me a small smile, "Hey."
He found her. Someone was here protecting her.
I smile at him. "Hey." I scooted in, sitting in front of Haruhi, placing my hand on her knee. She opened her eyes, and I could see the tears in them.
She weakly smiled at me, before shutting her eyes once again.
That smile. That god damn smile. I love it when she smiles. She's…she my best friend. I never thought I'd make friends here. The goal was to not make friends, but I guess, when you're going to school, you can't really avoid it. I've made so many friends here.
The Hosts, Renge, The RoseBlade crew, Misuzu, Mia, Mel, the host's guests…
Even now…I even call Hikaru a friend.
Ha…wow. That's such a weird thing to say.
I've left behind so many people in my home realm, in this realm, I've made so many more. It's almost like I don't…want to leave these guys behind.
Then again, what kind of ruler would I be if I just abandoned my Kingdom?
A warm touch on my hand brought me back to reality. Hikaru had his hand on mine, a comforting smile on his face.
I'd be leaving these people behind to free my future kingdom. I don't think…I'd ever see them again.
Right now, I'm just, clam. I'm enjoying my life here, but I miss my life there. It was just a crossroads. But, even in my predicament, I'm still calm.
The pelting rain began to ease up, and the constant rumbling of thunder just withered away into nothing. The storm cleared up.
I stood, opening the church window to see a clear night sky. I probably should have cleared that up earlier. But where's the fun in that?
"It's cleared up."
I go and crouch down next to the table, shaking Haruhi's knee. "Come on," I smile at her as she places the headphones around her neck. She took in the sounds of well…nothing
She took my outstretched hand, letting the white cloth fall to the ground as she stood. Hikaru stood behind her. "Let's get you home."
…
I still think that eding is cute! Simple, but cute! Let me know what you guys think! And my question of the day is:
What freaks you out as much as Haruhi freaks out about Storms?
Honestly, nothing scares me that much but I will run away from Cane Toads and Goanna's.
Well, Until Next Time.
SilvaOut!
