"This is my most sacred room, my mother took me here whenever I had tantrums or when I was sad. She would read to me, sing to me, and dance with me. My mother was an angel and I made a promise to her that I will not break. Not for anyone especially you King." Klaus' eyes scanned me. He didn't show much emotion on his face. But his eyes always gave him away. I could always tell most of the time whatever emotion he was having by his eyes.

Wonder

"You wished to know about me. What is it you want to hear?"

"I want to know of your kingdom. What are you?" He smirked at the slight tremble of my voice.

"What is it you do know; you know of your kingdoms abilities-" he stopped talking as I gave him a confused look. I didn't know of my kingdoms abilities.

"You don't know do you?" I didn't respond confirming the answer.

I felt a memory trying to push its way to my conscience but something held it steadily in place. Something told me I knew about my kingdoms secrets and abilities but for whatever reason I couldn't remember.

He stepped closer to me studying my face before placing his hands on my head. I tried pulling away but he closed his eyes and held on tightly.

I struggled and groaned in slight pain as I felt him dig his way through my memories.

Finally I was able to push him away as he yanked back with a groan of pain.

"Ugh your a tough one to crack." Before he even had a moment to straighten his back out I grabbed him by his throat and shoved him against the concrete wall.

"No one will hear you scream from in here. So talk! What did you just do to me." I stood almost a foot shorter than him and he just looked at me with a smirk.

He slowly took my hands into his and easily pried them away from his neck.

"I was searching your sub conscious. You have a very thick wall blocking me. I was able to only see certain things. For example your parents placed a memory spell on you. Your whole life you've been taking classes and properly being trained just after every class your made to forget until your crowned Queen. It's to protect you and your kingdom. Your people know not to cross the border we've created with our peace treaty, for the monsters that lurk past the border lines will kill them." He paused a moment watching my face change through many emotions. "But only royals truly know what the other kingdoms are capable of. It keeps balance and peace." I looked him up and down wanting to scoff every time the word peace dripped from his lips.

"So I'll remember when I become Queen?" I questioned.

"You will." He whispered. We stared into each other's eyes before I quickly broke away.

"How did you do that, crawl your way through my head?" I asked busying myself by looking at books from the long bookshelf that stretched across one of the walls. The room was beautiful. My mother had decorated in ways I aspired to be able to do one day. I loved decorating most likely a hobby I picked up from my mom. She was a magician at making any dull room in the castle become a bright light of gold trimmings and pearl walls.

"Simple enough question... let's start out at the beginning. I'm an original vampire. A vampire has the ability to compel, enter ones conscious, and various strengths. May I show you?" I watched his movements. I had no idea what compel meant and I was terrified to know.

"O- okay..." I stuttered as I slowly turned and stepped towards him. He held out a hand to me that I dismissed making him smirk.

"Okay do it." I closed my eyes tightly making him chuckle.

"Look at me." Hesitantly I opened each eye.

"Kiss me." He whispered. I felt my body recoil but slowly begin moving towards him. It felt like a slight pull telling me to do it. And then I did. Our lips met before I quickly stopped it as soon as it began.

"What the hell?" He smirked holding in laughter.

"It didn't work?" He said in questioning.

"I kissed you didn't I?!" I yelped wiping my mouth off dramatically.

"You did but by choice, you see that necklace around your neck. Let me guess your mother gave it to you?" I bit my cheek.

"My father when I was born had it made and encrusted with my initials. He said it was magical and that whenever I opened it he'd be there. I never wore it until they died. I felt bad for not doing so earlier but I had truly completely forgotten about it until somehow I knew right where to find it... I haven't opened it, ever." He scanned the necklace carefully taking it into his hands. I stiffened but slowly he released it just as fast.

"The blue crystal is actually lupus." He held up his hand revealing a blue ring that circled his right ring finger. "It's what we vampires wear to signify unity." I saw him holding something back but I let it go. "Vervain is placed somewhere inside this necklace and whatever is on the inside is for your eyes only." I sighed not knowing what to say.

"So what does vervain do?" My voice came out stronger this time I was tired of it breaking.

"It stops me from compelling you, meaning you kissed me all on your own."

"That's impossible but either way if you compelled me to give you personal information, would I?" He paused this time, finally I was coming to a point where he wanted to lie meaning it was important information.

"Yes I suppose you would." I felt my heart sink. If they were to sneak a vampire spy into our villages the could feed off of my people and compel them to forget, they could compel my advisors to tell them important information. I began having a panick attack realizing they could attack and win at any moment.

"Why wouldn't my parents warn me about your strengths. Did they not know that they could possible die one day." I groaned and pulled at my hair wanting to rip it out.

"There's much more we need to discuss."he said with no infliction unbothered by the conversation so far.

I took off my necklace laying it on the pure red wood table. "Do me." Klaus looked down at me through his lashes. He smirked.

"Do you?" He whispered seductively I sighed hearing what he must of instantly heard.

"Compel me I want to feel it. Feel what it does to me." He shrugged seemingly uninterested. "What do you wish me to compel you of?"

"Anything?" I said unsure.

Once again he laid his hands on either side of my head.

"Give me your wrist." The pull hit me harder than anything I'd ever experienced. I held back but that just made me move faster. He took my wrist into his hands and looked up to me, "don't scream or move." He quickly bit into it. I screamed and struggled and frailed but nothing happened. I didn't move or speak I was just standing there. I yelled at my body to break away before he drained me but I didn't. I did as he said.

He pulled away a line of blood running down his chin like it always did when he fed. His eyes held dark veins and were bloodshot red. He dragged his thumb up his chin taking the blood with it and slowly sucking on it while holding eye contact with me.

"Don't fret love this is a lesson within a lesson." He bit into his wrist holding it up to my mouth. I felt myself want to scurry away but I stayed in place. "Drink." I wrapped my lips around his bite wound and drank it in. I though I would be sick but the blood was amazing. It tasted heavenly considering vampires were exactly the opposite.

"Okay love here." He handed me my necklace with an ouch from the sting of the vervain.

I felt the compulsion break and my lips break away from his wrist. I wanted to scream but I was distracted the wound he inflicted on me was gone including the bite from earlier. Completely healed over by knew skin. And the cut my finger had endured from the bookshelf glass looked like it never even happened.

"You can heal people with your blood?" He smiled.

"Yes I can. What you don't seem to understand princess is that not all my people are like me. I have werewolf's, vampires, black magic witches, dark fairies, and every other person in between that your kingdom rejects. We are a community of different beings with different abilities. Some you have never even heard of, most have their own unique ability. Your kingdom is filled with people of abilities that rather come from god or nature. Mine is filled with beings made from the fallen angel Gabriel." My mind swirled with thoughts and questions. I couldn't fathom his words but I did understand them.

"How do you know of this did your parents educate you on the matters of royals?" He smirked like he always did. His eyes scanning the room as always.

"Of course not according to the line of succession I was not next to be king and I wasn't by any means favored by my father. I stole books from my mother and was informed by my older brother Elijah. Do you not know that you have abilities too." I was taken aback. I hadn't realized I may have these very powers.

"What of my kingdom is there?"

"You have many witches all categorized to different elements. Some work through voodoo most from their own natural ability. Theres four groups within the light kingdom: Fire, water, air, and earth. You also contain light fairies, shadow hunters though they've lost their little wands after the war. And I'm assuming you also have others with their own unique abilities. As for you I'm not sure what you could be, but all royals have some type of heavenly blood in them." I felt my breath hitch at the thought. "With that said not everyone is blessed with such powers but you princess must have shadow hunter blood running through your veins to be a royal." I studied him this time realization hitting me.

"If your a vampire... that means you would of had to be a shadow hunter before. I mean you are a royal right." He looked down sheepishly.

"The runes do mark my body your inability to see them means you are not a shadow hunter that or the block your parents placed on you prevents you from seeing so." I gently grabbed his muscular arm into my hands turning his arms over.

"I don't see anything?" He pointed to his arm with a small smile.

"Right here is my shadow hunter rune, and on my chest is my Parabati rune." My eyes ran over his pale clear skin.

"So you were a shadow hunter before what you were cursed?"

"My father lost my youngest brother to the werewolf's before we had control over them, he swore to never lose another child so my mother a witch made a spell to turn my siblings into bloodthirsty immortal beings, blah blah blah flash forward when we awoke I felt the runes being stripped and scarred from my skin. So my runes don't look as though they should." I felt for the first time guilt for the man stood before me. I could see the fear in his eyes when he talked about the former king.

"I'm so... that's horrible." I stopped myself before I apologized for something I hadn't even done.

"But I still retain my heavenly magic my mother held each of our magic in an object-" he stopped himself from revealing the object. He tried to glide past the slip up but I had noticed it.

"How do I figure out what I am?" His features twitched but just for a moment.

"When you're crowned which will be...?" He asked.

"Four days from today or sooner depending on when the council gets here it's a long voyage across the kingdoms." He nodded reminiscing about his own time being crowned.

"The sheer anticipation overwhelmed my entire being, my whole life I waited to be king and when the moment arose I made sure that the council would be there as quickly as possible. With that said you have to invite the other royals. What do you say about the light kingdom and dark kingdom coming together for the first time since the war. The royals in my kingdom haven't been invited in a mere 12 years. What do you say?" I could see the mischief sparkle in his eyes. I had a horrible feeling in my stomach and my mothers voice screamed at me to say no.

"I shall think on the matter... but if it were to happen you and your siblings are the only ones invited and you'll all be on high security. Wouldn't want you killing me especially before I'm crowned." He just shrugged with a smile.

"Starting a war isn't my goal Caroline." I wanted to believe the man before me. I mean he was charismatic, intelligent, and quite possible the most attractive man I had ever seen but a darkness loomed over him. I could feel it whenever he was close to me. My breath would hitch, my heartbeat would speed up, and then it would hit the... darkness would overwhelm me and for some reason all I wanted to do was help him.

"Caroline?" I turned towards the noise quickly motioning Klaus to hide. He got the hint and did so before I even noticed.

"Hey..." I said slowly as Kai came into the room.

"Why are you in here? You haven't been here since..." he stopped feeling guilty as my face fell.

"Since my parents died, I know, but I feel better now that I'm in here. It's like I can still hear her singing and right over there I can see us dancing and twirling around..."

"Do you think Silas will come to your coronation?" My eyes widened why in the hell would he mention Silas with Klaus in here- wait he doesn't know.

"I'm unsure... look I'm sorry for earlier but I had to do something. Or else he could of hurt you." Kai smiled slowly coming up to me.

"I know you're coronation is soon but... I don't think I can wait anymore Caroline, I just want you. I want us to be together, completely."
