Kendra woke up to an empty bed and the mouth watering smell of breakfast cooking. She lazily rolled over in the bed, briefly acknowledging the fact that the left side of the bed was cold and empty, as she kicked the blankets off. The sunlight streamed through the curtains, lighting the dark room with a soft glow and warming everywhere it touched. She could hear the sounds of birds chirping outside as they too enjoyed the nice weather. It had been raining for the last several days making for lazy, dreary days so it was nice to see the sun had returned. Slowly she moved into a sitting position, finding comfort in the knowledge that she could take her time. Today was just a day. No life threatening mission, no fear of what was to come, no evil society or murderous dragons. In fact for the first time since she had entered the magical world, the world was finally at a peace.

She wasn't sure how long she sat there just soaking everything in but eventually the growling of her empty stomach became to much. It probably had something to do with the smells coming from the kitchen. She sighed not quite ready to move but also not willing to go hungry.

The door creaked open slowly, revealing her amazing husband holding a tray of food. Once again his timing was perfect. It was almost as if he had been reading her thoughts.

"Well, good morning sunshine. How long have you been up?" He asked sweetly, pressing a gentle kiss to the crown of her head as he sat down and placed the tray in front of her.

"Not long. Unlike you Mr. I don't ever need to sleep. " She said playfully. Bracken let out a musical laugh at her comment before replying.

" Well, you don't seem to mind my early morning activities very much, judging by the way your drooling over there."

"I'm not drooling!" Kendra halfheartedly scoffed. " This does smell amazing though, thank you. You really don't have to keep doing this. " Bracken had been on a cooking spree lately and it seemed like he had made her breakfast in bed every day this week, not that she was complaining. Kendra would be lying if she said that his lack of sleep didn't worry her. He might not need much sleep but even for a unicorn a week was really pushing it. She couldn't help but wonder what was keeping him from sleeping, s conversation they would definitely be having later. For the moment however, Kendra would let it go in favor of enjoying the quite moment they had together.

" Well you know they say breakfast is the most Important meal of the day. I just want to make sure you start your day of nice." He said sweetly, his soothing voice pulling her from her thoughts. Kendra couldn't help but melt a little at the sweetness of his reply as she leaned over and kissed his cheek before turning to the breakfast he had made. The arrangement was perfect a bowl of fresh fruit and a glass of orange juice sat on one side while the other held a vase of beautiful fresh picked flowers, indicating he had been up much longer than he let on. Kendra looked to the center of the tray and couldnt help but raise an eyebrow. In the center of the plate was a perfect stack of pancakes. Bracken absolutely hated pancakes, though she could never figure out why. There weren't many things he refuses to eat if someone made it ,mostly out feat of appearing rude or hurting someone's feelings, but pancakes were something he would not force himself to eat. She had questioned him on this aversion and he had replied that it was something about the texture that made him dislike them. The top pancake was decorated with two whipped cream eyes with blueberrie centers. As well as a whipped cream mouth and strawberrie nose. Kendra couldn't help but giggle at the silliness before turning to Bracken with a confused look.

" Why did you make pancakes? For reasons unknown,You hate pancakes." She asked confused as to why he had gone to the trouble or if he had really just been that bored. Bracken threw his head back and let out a melodious laugh. She let the sound wash over her, warming her from the tips of her toes to the top of her head.

" Yes I do hate them, but you love them. And thats enough for me. Besides I thought you might want something other than the two fairy realm breakfasts I knew how to cook, and I had the time, so I thought I'd learn how to make one of your favorites. "He answerd as she took a bite into the mouth watering fluffy goodness.

" These are amazing, thank you!" Kendra replyed touched he would think of something like that.

" Anything for my princess." He said cheesily before pressing a kiss to her forehead. If Seth had been here he would have pretended to gag and teased them for being to sappy. As if him and Eve didn't act exactly the same way. Memories flooded her mind, giving her a nostalgic feeling that caused a smile across her face. She knew that she would eventually have to get up and face the day, but as Bracken settled behind her cuddling her and allowing her to lay back on his chest, she was fully content to just relax.
