The children follow Inuyasha out to the others, giving them a moment alone, and she stretches out beside him. "I'm glad you stayed."
Sesshoumaru props himself on his elbow and just nods.
"Was it strange for you?"
Eyes sliding to hers, his look is quiet but telling.
"Oh." She frowns. They say nothing for a moment, locked in silent observation of each other, and then she sighs and tucks into him. "I guess it would be."
"Strange. Not regretful." His half-empty sleeve drapes over her, his face thoughtful. "Rin is content."
"And you?"
"Mm"—he breathes her in—"I am."
