"Aren't we the healthiest baby on all of Berserk," Vivian cooed as she held Yarrow.

It had been two and a half months since Yarrow's naming ceremony and the little babe was now three months old. The babe cooed as she grabbed her grandmother's nose only to squeal in laughter as Vivian snorted at her. Iris just shook her head.

"She's doing well?" Iris asked.

"Gaining weight perfectly," Vivian cooed. "And growing like a weed. If my memory is right, which it always is, she's in the upper percentile of her age's height and weight. She's hitting all the milestones she should be and some she shouldn't yet."

"She has been trying to roll over already," Iris groaned. "And when we do tummy time she is always trying to scoot off. Once she figures out that if she lifts her belly and moves both arms and legs she'll be unstoppable."

"Of course. She is making high standards for the rest of your children."

"Oh no. No more. One is enough. I thought her sleeping with me would make it easier to catch up on sleep but no. I have to be topless or she screams at my shirt. Plus she smacks me in the face every time she nurses at night so I can't just sleep while she does."

"Are you getting revenge for grandma?" Vivian asked while Yarrow babbled nonsense. "Oh yes you are. Your mommy never let grandma sleep."

"Hey!"

"I'm teasing. Not about the no sleep part you were against sleep. Don't worry. She'll settle as she grows. Eventually she won't even wake up at night to nurse and you two will be sleeping the night away."

"I hope it's soon. Dagur has been suffering with me. Poor man hasn't had a decent night sleep in days."

"He'll get over it."

"Mom!"

Vivian just grinned as she handed Yarrow back. Seeing her mom Yarrow started to coo and squirm around. Iris held her so the baby could look around more easily. Lately she had been wanting to see everything.

"See you later," Iris said as Vivian prepared for her next patient.

"Shall we go see Dada?"

"Ab pu."

"I'll take that as a yes."

They walked from Vivian's home and clinic that was only a house away from her own and headed to the center of the village. Everyone who passed by greeted her and Yarrow. The mood in the tribe was overall great as spirits were lifted higher than ever thanks to Yarrow. She was the future of the tribe and now they could rest easy knowing there was an heir.

Dagur was training with the warriors, overseeing their practice and sparring with some to give examples. Lately he had been running everyone through drills. All thanks to the Dragon Hunters and their Flyers lurking around. There had been encounters with them recently and Dagur was on high alert. Especially after hearing from Alvin that the Outcasts had a sea battle with a small fleet of them north west of Outcast Island.

Speaking of the Outcast chief, he and Dagur grudgingly came to an agreement to not attack each other anymore. While the Outcasts weren't exactly allies, they were allies of Berk and by default a kind of ally to Berserk. It didn't hurt that Yarrow won the hardened chief over that he wanted to keep her safe. So they shared information through Terror Mail.

They entered the training grounds. Swords and axes clashed, men shouted at each other, and arrows thudded into targets. Some Riders practiced fighting from dragon back nearby, their dragons mock sparring with each other while the Riders 'attacked' each other. Jon spotted her and gave Iris a smile that she returned.

Eagerly Yarrow looked at each clash of metal. Already she was fascinated by the weapons flashing in the sunlight and the sound of them coming together in a bang. It hadn't fazed her since day one. Proof she was a true blooded Berserker Dagur had claimed.

"There's Daddy," Iris told the babe, pointing at Dagur who was sparring against two other warriors.

Yarrow gurgled at the sight of her dad. It was amazing how easily the babe could distinguish Dagur in a crowd. It had to be the red hair. Or his crazy laugh.

They stayed back and watched as Dagur sparred against the two men in hand to hand combat. The other two men both had bloody noses and one had a black eye. Dagur grinned, his knuckles bloodied while a cut on his lip bled. He spotted Iris and Yarrow, distracted for a second to grin widely at them.

"Bad move," Iris called.

One of the other men lunged forward and swung his fist. Dagur reacted but not fast enough as the other man clipped his nose. He didn't manage to break it but Iris could see the blood begin dripping from Dagur's right nostril. It didn't bother him.

Quick enough he had both men on the ground groaning and already hurried towards her. He smiled widely, showing some blood on his teeth, but it didn't faze her or Yarrow. Instead the baby squealed eagerly and reached for Dagur while babbling.

"How are my girls?" cooed Dagur. He gave Iris a firm kiss, leaving the taste of iron in her mouth, before plucking Yarrow out of the baby wrap. "You are even more adorable than you were this morning! Did you see daddy beat up those warriors? All on his own too!"

"She saw you get a bloody nose," Iris snickered. "Aren't you the one who told me distractions are fatal on the battlefield?"

"Good thing this is just practice," he chuckled. "How did her check up go?"

"Grandma gave her seal of approval," Iris said. "She's gaining weight steadily and she's growing like a weed. Already taller than most babies her age and heavier. Once she starts moving around she'll be eating even more to keep that weight gain."

"She'll have to start eating meat like her dad," he cooed. Yarrow babbled and cooed at him as she tried to grab at his beard. "Oh no not that again. You woke daddy up that way this morning. No more beard playing time."

"You aren't shaving," she warned.

"I know I know. You like it too much." He winked at her.

"You know it." She just grinned back, used to his teasing.

"Gross," Heather gagged. "Don't talk like that around my niece! Dagur, you are going to drip blood on her."

Dagur just made a rude gesture at Heather which she laughed at. Iris noticed she had a pack with her and Windshear was saddled. At her eyebrow raise Heather gave a sheepish smile.

"I wanted to go to Vanaheim," she said. "Just to check some things out. I'll be back as soon as I can. Promise."

"Someone is going to miss you," commented Iris. "And I'm not talking about your brother."

"Aunty will be back soon," she cooed to Yarrow. "I bet you will be even bigger with even crazier hair."

"I wish I could go with you," Dagur said.

"No you don't."

"I was trying to be nice! But you're right. I don't. I've been there once and I'm happy with not going again. Ever."

"Be safe," Iris said. "And we'll be waiting for you."

That made Heather smile. They became closer since Heather stopped running around like a crazy person. Even Windshear settled in and bonded with the other dragons. It was a nice contrast to the relationship they all shared before.

"I'll be back in a flash," Heather promised.

They watched as Heather mounted Windshear and took off. A few of the other Riders joined her as she headed away from the island. Most likely they would follow her to the edge of their patrol before returning. Any chance to go for a fly.

"So what plans do my girls have for the rest of the day?" Dagur asked.

"Mostly to come bother you," teased Iris.

"Having you two around is never a bother." Yarrow cooed, waving her arms. "Yes having my little Berserker around is never a bother. If your mom wasn't so mean I would teach you how to fight already."

"She can't even crawl yet Dagur," she drawled. "At least wait until she's walking."

"That'll be forever though."

"No it won't."

"Um Chief?" a Viking asked nervously.

"WHAT?!"

"A-a-are you going to be sparing anymore?"

"Oh. No. Go on ahead and practice amongst yourself," Dagur said calmly. "I'll be spending the rest of the day with these two."

"Yes Chief." The Viking hurried off to the others while Iris gave Dagur a look.

"What?" he asked innocently.

"You didn't have to yell at him," she scolded. "It was a simple question."

"But he was bothering me!"

She just gave him a pointed look that he just ignored. Somethings would never change. Still, he focused on Yarrow, making kissy faces at her and booping her nose. No matter what the baby did he never lost his temper. He never lost it with her either. Maybe around her towards other people but never at her.

"Come on. Let's get you cleaned up."
