Blue Valley Peacemaking.

Disclaimer: I own none of the copyrights to any of the stories that've paid into this with their ideas; those include: "Battlestar Galactica" (the original version), "Ignatius of Loyola: Sinner, Soldier, Saint", "Stargirl", and "Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Angel the Series", I forever forfeit any fiscal repayment for this venture- and shall not accept a single red cent for this work of literature.

Genre(s): Family, Hurt/Comfort, Friendship, Historical fiction, Spiritual, Supernatural.

Characters/Pairings: Courtney Whitmore and her friends, Yolanda Montez, and her friend/stepsister (in this universe, a project I and another fellow are cooperating in) Artemis Crock, Mike Dugan, their parents; but those're just a few hereof.

Rating: Pretty much PG-13 just to be conservative and safe; nothing overtly sexual at all, but the monsters are going to be very scary, especially for those who know who/what they are, or are intended to be… I do, therefore, insist on parental guidance, to keep the kiddies safe from deep spiritual harm to their souls- the baddies in this would very much like to corrupt their souls, but this story itself is chaste.

Summary: Mostly Artemis Crock is trying to repair the damage done by the ISA in the universe this's set in: "Dark Supergirl" is its name; and some incredibly evil stuff was done in that to the heroines. This's post Artemis's adoption by Courtney's parents, however.

Author's Notes: Sorry for the delay, partner (you'll know if you're him whom I am addressing); been having trouble working out how to get this to function as a story, and after a few false starts and much research, I seem to have hit on a functional idea; I hope you like it!

Chapter #1.): Peacemaking Attempt 1.

Courtney was seated on the steps to her family's basement, right near the bottom thereof, as she watched and tried to judge an attempt at a friendly sparring match in their basement gym between Yolanda Montez, her best friend, and her stepsister, Artemis. At present, the two brunettes were sort of wrestling on their feet, but it was reasonably clear that things weren't out of hand because the two teen girls were laughing in the process… and from their tones, Courtney could hear that they, if anything, weren't taking this match seriously enough.

Her mind flashed back to the gymnastics competitions she'd taken part in in her past, and she quite understood those two in their love of their sports as she watched them going at it- if you could call what they were doing "going at it" anyways. They really weren't actually fighting at all; but late at night, Courtney had heard Artemis silently crying in her sleep… and it occurred to the blonde that the other teen girl didn't know if she could trust that she was going to be safe at their home.

A small, minute, but utterly evil part of Courtney's mind that was spiteful took delight in her new sister's nervousness about being welcome; after all, Artemis had stood guard for Cinthia while the brutal girl had abused her *in every way* she could think of. And, after their escape; she'd heard horror tales, tales that Cinthia's remarks had confirmed, about what'd happened to Yolanda- things that made Courtney's blood chill when her mind visited them! So it didn't surprise her at all that she'd have some remaining bitterness towards Artemis about what'd been done. Granted, Art had helped to rescue her, so that helped, somewhat, but still, she'd taken part in their capture and acted as a guard for the abuse, and that was far from easily forgiven!

Then, glancing off to her left side, near the shadows of the workshop her stepdad, Pat operated; by sheer chance, Courtney spotted a shadow that seemed to have a life of its own, and that alarmed her, or a few "shadows" at that; they looked for the life of the teen girl as if they were black clouds that seemed to move of their own accord. Not so much smoke, for they seemed to move with a purpose independent of where any slight breeze was going through the room, say from a window.

What happened next sent chills through Courtney's blood, this "cloud" set seemed to divide into what appeared to be two oddly dressed men, or one man and one thing, something towering with four horns near the back of its head, but both had definitely masculine features to them "Dad!" Courtney tried to yell, but her voice wouldn't come. So, picking up her cellphone, she tried to dial her daddy to inform him of these intruders. "Pack it up, ladies, we've got to go." Courtney yelled to raise an alarm at what was in the area. As it was, Yolanda's eyes bugged out at seeing this weird apparition, and she tried to warn Artemis of the danger. Artemis thought she was trying to divert her attention, and attempted to punch Yolanda in the skull with a knockout blow, only to have her right arm grabbed, immobilized, and for Yolanda to put her into a chokehold and spin her bodily around pinned against her chest.

"Okay, Landa, I give." Artemis said, then she noticed the weirdly dressed men moving to basically trap them against the stairs, the shorter of them seemed to be dressed not in robes like his companion but rather in a reddish and black outfit from approximately the 16th Century AD or thereabouts, with facial features of a Spaniard, but underneath his jacket he wore a white button-down shirt. There was something about him, though, that alarmed these teen girls, something beyond the "strange man in my house" kind of deal; it was, especially to Yolanda, as if her immortal soul was in very real mortal danger. These strangers hadn't exchanged words that they could hear, but something about their mannerisms was really very scary as how they carried themselves.

If the more human-looking of the two was frightening in its intensity, as well as the black clouds coming off of him, the more demonic of the two was just plain freaky. "Back away." Yolanda firmly said, and for a moment her female buddies were wondering if she meant them, or the strange beings.

"You really don't want us to do that; I heard your rage from afar, and have come to help you." the more foreign-looking of the two "men" said; with an odd tone, as he not so much kept pace with them by walking as by floating.

"Really?" replied the Montez girl "because I sure don't recall asking *you* for help; and I'm pretty sure I'd remember *that*." Yolanda replied, as skeptically as she possibly could.

"So, you're telling me you do not want to get payback on Cindy Burman for all the hurt she did to you?" the weirdly-deformed man asked her, cocking one eyebrow as he asked her that.

Now Yolanda was intrigued, she sure did want to break Cindy in for how the other girl had mistreated her; but she herself wanted to do it- she didn't want to hand it over to someone else whom she didn't know the conditions the other person would pursue, or when the other being would back off. So she replied, with her conscience yelling at the that this's the ultimate in foolishness "First off, who are you, secondly, how do you know what she did to me, and third, why would you help me?" Yolanda asked, frowning in doubt the whole time.

"I'm the Lord." this being said, lying all the while.

"Nuh-uh, you don't look at all like Him!" Yolanda said, shaking her head so hard her Dutch braids, her preferred fighting hairdo, stood straight out.

"Different one, I run a kind of "academy", and we heard your cry of pain." he, D'Hoffryn said.

Yolanda stood up, replied firmly "I'm not taking the offer; go away." and went up the stairs of her best friend's home, with her two friends following; later on she explained to Artemis regarding the Baltimore Catechism what she thought that was, what gave it away what she was dealing with, and by and large the proper solution- it'd become something of an open secret among those friends that the ISA had alien allies, including the Serpent from the Garden of Eden, and why they must be mindful and resist, or they will doom themselves in the process, and hours later, Yolanda explained to Artemis "And I think that the other more humanlike of the two of them is really the devil in disguise." she said. "It's also known as "Count Iblis" in "Battlestar Galactica" and as "the First Evil" in "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" but it is a very real menace and very deadly indeed." she explained, for she'd begun to tutor Artemis in the Baltimore Catechism. They were using the children's version more than the more adult version; and as for Artemis, she'd already intellectually bonded at least somewhat with Ignatius of Loyola, due to both of them being more athletically inclined; she saw him kind of as something of an elder brother of a sort.

End Chapter #1 Author's Notes: Well, this was a lot darker than I had intended, a LOT darker at that, but I fully intend to continue this story.

As for wondering when in the show's storyline it takes place, that'd be around the time of late in Season 2 of the television series, but after "Stargirl: Hell" that my partner in this set of projects has written.
