(One Day Later) Beacon Academy, Beacon Infirmary | August 30th, 20XX | 6:10 PM | (My POV)
So, after Peach told me exactly where I was, I did what any normal person would do in that kind of situation. I flat out passed out on the spot and considering there was a solid floor below me, it wasn't exactly the most painless fall. I couldn't believe it, despite everything I saw and heard, I still find it impossible! I mean, how in the fresh hell can I be in the world of Remnant!?
According from what I head from Peach, I was asleep for four days after I almost got killed by the Beowolf! It couldn't have been for that long…could've?! Then again…I was almost gutted, so I guess that's understandable. So many questions were going through my head: How did I get here? Why am I here? How in the hell am I not dead!? Needless to say, I was more than just confused. All I could do right now was to try to make sense of the situation…oh what the hell! None of this makes sense anyway! Wait…maybe all of this before and now…was just a dream inside of a dream, that is inside of another dream! I mean, everyone has had that, right? Maybe the second I wake up, I'll be back in my room under my soft green blanket.
Okay Christian, the second you open your eyes, you're going to be right back at home, safe and sound!
I could feel myself regaining consciousness one more, slowly opening my eyes.
Okay, I'm waking up now, I'm going to be in my room. Everything is going to be alr-
.
.
.
I opened my eyes, only to see that I was still in the hospital room. How can I tell exactly? Well, last time I checked, I'm pretty sure my room had a ceiling fan and unless my aunt or uncle called a contracting company to have it removes, and somehow I manged to sleep through it.
But how is this even possible!? How-
"Oh, I see that you're awake again, you were asleep for a whole day, young man!" A familiar voice said in a delighted tone
I slowly sat up to see everything I had saw before…except for the missing vase that I threw out the window. Not only that, I saw Peach sitting on a chair in a nearby corner with a smile. If my mom has taught me anything…the most dangerous thing in the world is a smiling woman sitting in silence.
"You gave us quite the scare there young man. It's not everyday we find someone as young as yourself right outside our doors." Peach said
"Outside…your doors?" I asked in confusion
"So you don't remember? Shame, Ozpin was planning on asking you a couple of questions before he decided what to do with you." Peach said
"Wait…what do you mean by 'what to do with me'?" I asked
Of course I'm still have suspicions! I feel like any other sane person would be too!
Peach titled her head in confusion. her eyes lit up, realizing her mistake "No, no, no, no! I didn't mean it like that! I just meant that h just wants to speak to you, personally. You should be excited young man!"
I'm just shocked that I'm going to speak to him, period. I didn't even think he even existed until now. But, at least I might finally get some answers.
"Okay, I guess I'll just head on over to wh-!" I began, but as I moved the blankets off of me…the hospital gown I was previously wearing was gone and was now only in my underwear. My face quickly turned red as I quickly covered myself with the blanket "Uh…w-where are my clothes?"
"Your clothes were in pretty bad shape when we found you, so we took it to a tailor to fix them up for you. Peach explained "That, and I couldn't exactly perform an operation with your clothes in the way." Peach said
Wait…operation!?
"Wait you performed surgery on me!?" I shouted
"No, not surgery!" Peach explained "I was checking your vitals when you passed out! You were noticeably malnourished when we found you. Besides that, there's nothing wrong with you. You're perfectly healthy."
Phew…I still have my kidneys…
"Though before you head on over…" Peach began as she pulled out a clipboard and a pen "I'd like to ask you a couple questions."
"Okay, sure." I said
"Splendid." She said, clicking the pen she had in her hand "Okay, first question. What is your name?"
"My name is Christian Pendragon." I said
There's really no point in lying, seeing as I had my phone and my wallet in my pants. There's a high chance that they might've seen it and were "testing me".
"Christian Pendragon…okay, what about your age. You can't be older than eighteen." Peach said
"I'm about sixteen years old." I said
"Sixteen. Alright then, how about your height?" Peach asked
"You didn't measure me when I was sleeping?" I asked
"Well, I could. But you kept on slouching, so it was difficult." Peach said
I shrugged "I'm five'six." I said
"Really? At your age? Strange, perhaps your growth is stunted." Peach said
…REALLY, HERE TOO!?
"Hey! It's a perfectly good height!" I yelled
"Anyways, have you done any drugs?" Peach asked
"The medical kind or the ones that people think are cool but are actually not?" I asked
"Last one." Peach said
"No then." I said
"Any alcohol?" Peach asked
"Well…there was this one time I drank something at the time I thought was juice." I admitted
"I'll just put down 'other'." Peach said "Place of origin?"
I was about to say Laval, Quebec…but then again, I highly doubt it that my hometown exists here anyway so…Oh! I got it!
"Outside of the kingdoms." I said
Nailed it!
"Okay, just let me do a little bit of this and…" Peach said, shifting her pen up and down, presumably adding the finishing touches to her paper. "Okay, that about does it, well it's a pleasure to formally meet you, Mr. Pendragon." She said as she extended her am out to shake my hand.
.
.
I was still in slight shock of everything happening that I didn't even notice that she was trying to shake my hand. "O-Oh sorry, I was just thinking about something. Yeah, it's nice to meet you." I said as I shook her hand. But when I came in contact with her hand, I felt a strange wave of energy flowing through it, similar to shock. Not expecting the sudden energy, I jerked my hand away from her.
"Are you alright, Mr. Pendragon? Do we need to do another evaluation?" Peach asked in a concerned and surprised tone.
"Uh…Yeah, sorry, it was just a reflex." I slightly lied with a chuckle "I guess I'm just surprised that I woke up here of all places." I said, trying to change the subject.
I started to think back once more, trying to see if I could exactly figure out how I got here in the first place. I was walking home until I heard the sirens go off from where I was. I ran back home to see if my family was alright, only to see that they were already out. So, I ran back to town and ran into a little girl named Alice along the way. I decided to help her and took her to Eden to find her parents, which is still something I don't even know if she did or not!
Eventually, we found footprints and tire-tracks that led us straight to Eden and came cross a pod-like machine that was designed to take people straight to Eden. There was only enough room for one more person, and with me being the better man, I shoved Alice into the pod and sent it down to Eden. Unfortunately, that would leave me to fall victim to the warheads. Except, I didn't die…at least, I thought I died. If I really did kick the bucket, then I wouldn't be here now.
I've come to terms that this isn't a dream, even though it did take long. I've gathered that much, so how the hell did I come back and end up in a fictional world? Is this some sort of Re:Creators scenario or something? But that doesn't make any sense, none of this should be possible! I mean, sure there were plenty of theories of other universes and all that…but coming back to life? Even the greatest scienetists of my lifetime and even before my lifetime agree that it's not possible! Especially after a nuclear explosion!
My thoughts were soon cut off by the sound of Peach's voice. "Yes, it can be quite the shock. Anyways, there is someone who would like to see you. he asked me to take you to him the second you were feeling better." She said, as she walked over to a nearby drawer and pulled out my clothes and handed them to me.
"Here are your clothes. When you're done I will wait for you outside, then we can go." Peach said as she stepped out of the room and closed the door behind her
As soon as she walked out the door and closed it behind her, I whipped the blanket off of my body. But before I put my pants on, I dug through its pockets to see that my wallet and my phone were still in my pocket.
"I guess there's really no point in keeping the dollar bills in here, they're just as useless as 'ueue' in the word 'queue'." I said to myself, as I placed the two items back into my pocket.
But just as I was about to change into my the rest of my clothes…there were no signs of damage or even tears that the Beowolf left behind! I know Peach said she took them to a tailor…but there were no signs of stitches anywhere! What kind of tailors do they have in this world!?
.
Then again, I believe clothing does get damaged whenever Huntsman and Huntresses are out on missions so…
"Ugh! I'm thinking too much again, aren't I?" I muttered to myself as I walked towards the bathroom, turned the sink on and splashed water on my face "This has been one helluva Monday…or is it Friday?…And I'm overthinking again…"
Beacon Academy, Beacon Tower | August 30th, 20XX | 6:30 PM | (3rd Person POV)
As before, Professor Ozpin was sitting in his office performing his many duties as Headmaster of Beacon and his duties as a Huntsman. But for the last five days, Ozpin has been having trouble locating the origins of a singular individual, the boy he had found days prior. The Kingdoms of Vale, Vacuo, Mistral, and Atlas all have transcripts and profiles for each of their citizens. Dental records, medical records, school transcripts, and even possible criminal records. But this boy that was in the infirmary…had none of those.
He had checked every available database in the Kingdom by contacting each of the Headmasters across the four kingdoms, but just like in Vale beforehand, there were no traces of the boy. Currently, Ozpin was currently in the call with the Headmaster of Atlas Academy, who could only be made out by his profile picture which just shows his head and face. The Headmaster of Atlas Academy appeared to be an older man with a white complexion and grey eyes. He had black hair with some grey areas and a strip of silver metal just above his eyebrows which were also black in colour.
"Ozpin, are you sure that was an actual Sacred Arm? And how can a boy, no older than sixteen have something as powerful as the other thirteen?" The man asked on the other end of the scroll
"I don't know James, but I have him in the infirmary and Thumbelina will inform me when he's awake. Only then will we be able ro figure out how he got it, and to see if we could find more." Ozpin said
"Alright, Ozpin, as for the test results, we can't do a proper search until we have his medical background. You said that Thumbelina was already working on that, right?" The man asked through the scroll
"Yes, once we have it, I will send it to you as soon as I can and then you can do a full search on the boy." Ozpin said, only to see another ID trying to reach him, it was Peach. "Ah, it looks like Thumbelina is calling, I will call you back soon enough with his medical history."
"Alright, I'll see you soon enough Ozpin. Oh, and tell Glynda that I said hello." The man said on the other end of the scroll, before cutting the connection off
As soon as the man hanged up, Ozpin picked up the call he was receiving from Peach "Hello Thumbelina, I assume you have news on the boy?"
"Yes, I have great news! He woke up and didn't pass out this time!" Peach said in a delighted tone on the other end of the scroll
"Ah, I see, have you gotten his medical history yet?" Ozpin asked, taking a sip from his cup of cocoa
"Yes, his name is Christian Pendragon. He's five'six, and has no symptoms of any sort of disease." Peach said on the other end of the scroll
But before Ozpin could ask Thumbelina to send the boy towards his office, there was another voice in the background "The gods doesn't smite people with lightning…he smites them with vases…"
"I hope that's the medicine that's talking…" Peach muttered on the other end of the scroll
"Thumbelina, is that the boy?" Ozpin asked
"No professor, it was just another patient in the infirmary, Arthur Vritra." Peach said on the other end of the scroll "He was just sent here yesterday because of a concussion he received when a vase landed on-top of his head.
.
.
"Now that I think about it, there was a vase missing from Mr. Pendragon's room." Peach wondered on the other end of the scroll
"Well either way, I would like you to send him up to my office as soon as possible. I have a few questions for him." Ozpin said in a pleased tone
"Certainly, I will send him over as soon as possible." Peach said on the other end of the scroll, as she hanged up
'Hmm, this will prove to be a very interesting year, Mr. Pendragon' Ozpin thought to himself as he took another sip of his coffee.
Beacon Academy, Beacon Courtyard-Beacon Tower | August 30th, 20XX | 6:40 PM | (My POV)
To say that the entirity of Beacon Academy would be the BIGGEST understatement of the century…pun intended. Anyways, this place could be considered an entire small town of its own! I mean, these kids must pay some very serious tuition in enrol in this place! It almost felt like I was walking through Hogwarts itself! Not that I've been to Hogwarts in real life but…you know what I mean!
But seriously, how the hell does anyone navigate through this place? I've been walking right beside Peach this entire time and I still have no idea where I am! But, I might as well us what time I have to get some questions of mine answered…it's been full of those for the past five days.
"So, where did you find me, Thumbelina?" I asked her 'Seriously…what kind of name is Thumbelina!?'
"You were found outside of Beacon, but I wasn't the one who found you." Peach said "That would be Professor Ozpin, the man you are going to see now."
'Okay, so now I know who t was who found me, so maybe he knows how I got here. After-all, he does know a few things at least from what I saw.' I thought to myself "So, why does he want to see me anyway?"
"He just wants to ask a few questions. After all, it's not every day that a boy just appears out of nowhere just amoungst the outsirts of our school!" Peach reassured
"Alright…but does anyone here know how I got here?" I asked
"We're not exactly sure to be honest. You just up and appeared out of nowhere. Though you did cause quite the commotion outside of the school." Peach said
"…Wait, what?" I asked 'I feel like that every question is answered, more just pop up like a god-damn game of Whack'a mole!'
"Indeed. There was a second aura near you, a very powerful aura at that. For some reason, it was driving the Grimm around the area completely crazy." Peach said
"Is everyone alright?" I asked
"Oh, of course. We took care of the situation rather easily." Peach reassured
"Well, that's good. Sorry for the trouble I caused." I apologized
"Oh, it's fine. You couldn't really help it." Peach said "Oh, look we're here!"
Eventually, we arrived at what was probably the tallest building in the entire academy. Upon closer inspection, the top of the tower was surmounted by a number of green spheres or lights, as well as an intricate clockwork mechanism consisting of many interlocking cogs and gears…the reason I know is because I make stuff from scraps alright!? Back on Earth, I used to dumpster dive look for various things! Anyways, and at the top of the tower was Ozpin himself…presumably that is.
"Please take the elevator to the top floor. There you will meet the Headmaster." Peach said
"Okay, well thanks for everything. Maybe I'll see you later." I said
"Oh, it was no trouble. If you need anything than I'll be at my office. It's in the Medical District, you know where that is, right?" Peach asked
My eyes widened as I looked back and forth, trying to remember what route we took to get here! "Uh, actually, I sort of lost track of-!" I tried to finish
Peach cut me off "Good! Well, let me know how your meeting with Ozpin goes!" Peach said as as she walked off.
.
.
.
"Can I at least get a map?" I asked no one in particular "Or…at least some sort of directory?"
Seriously, those things are like taxi cabs! The moment you're looking for one, they're no where to be found. But when you're NOT looking…THEY'RE EVERYWHERE!
I sighed as I walked into the elevator as tits doors closed behind me.I looked at the various buttons that lead up the tower itself…I'm getting some deja vu here, but with a twist. I pressed the very top button of the panel and I could feel the elevator begin to move. With how much time I still had, I began to think about the new information that Thumbelina gave to me. So, I woke up in the middle of a forest outside of Beacon…why does that sound familiar? Anyways, then I was attacked by a Beowolf, found and saved by Ozpin, taken to the infirmary and then I woke up there after five days. Well…nothing was out of the ordinary…I mean, none of what is happening is ordinary, but what I meant was that nothing in that story stood out. But that second aura does interest me, but who was projecting that same aura
*DING* The elevator made some sort of noise notifying me that I had made it at the top of the tower. The doors slowly opened, and there he was, sitting at his desk, the Headmaster of Beacon Academy himself.
'If anyone has the answers, it has to be him. Don't let me down, Ozpin.' I thought to myself, as I stepped out of the elevator
"Ah, hello there. My name is Professor Ozpin, I've been expecting you." Ozpin greeted
Don't fuck this up…
"It's…uh…nice to meet you." I stumbled "My name is-!"
"Christian Pendragon." Ozpin cut me off "The boy who caused quite the commotion with our staff and the local Grimm."
.
.
"…How in the-!?" I blurted out
Ozpin cuts me off once more. "Thumbelina told me about you. I told her to send you here once you awoke from your slumber.
"So, you're the one who found me in the forest, thanks for picking me up I guess." I said "Who knows what could've happened…especially when that thing-!"
Ozpin cut me off once again "It was no trouble, Mr. Pendragon. Now, I'm sure that you have a lot of questions, though I myself have some questions for you. Do, if you'd be so kind to answer them to the best of your abilities, that would be lovely. Wouldn't you think?"
"So, you want to ask me what you want to know and then I can ask you what I want to know?" I asked
"That's how I was planning on doing it. Though if you have a better idea, I'm all ears." Ozpin said
.
.
"Well…none come to mind." I said "So, shoot."
"Very well. I would like to know how it is that you got your hands on a Sacred Arm?" Ozpin asked "Or more preferably, one of the Thirteen Arms of Nicodemus?"
.
"Wait…a what now?" I asked
"The weapon that we found on your arm when I found you." Ozpin said
"Wait, do you mean that weird gauntlet?" I asked
"Do you truly not know what I am talking about?" Ozpin asked
"Not a clue…is that gauntlet somehow important?" I asked
"Very, which is concerning that you do not know the one who or what resides in that gauntlet." Ozpin said
"…Who?" I asked
"Never mind." Ozpin dismissed "I was hoping what it's abilities are and how powerful it really is. Though judging by your actions, it's clear to me that not even you know."
"Speaking of…where is it?" I asked "I tried to pull it off, but it felt like I was alos pulling my entire arm off as well. But when I woke up, it was gone."
"It seems that the vessel has taken residence inside of you." Ozpin said
.
.
"It did…what now?" I asked
"Are you sure that you don't know anything?" Ozpin said
"I wouldn't be saying 'what' if I knew something." I said
.
.
"Wait!" I blurted out, catching his attention "It was a little hazy…but I think I remember that I did something…"
"Hmm? Well…what did you do?" Ozpin asked
"Well…" I began, trying to remember what exactly happened five days prior. "All I could remember is getting scared…and angry. Then all of a sudden, there was this red light that blasted that monster apart."
"Is that all you can remember?" Ozpin asked
"That all I can remember at the top of my head." I said
Ozpin sat in his chain in silence. Honestly, it felt kind of nerve racking, never in my life have I've ever been in a room so silent. It was almost as if we were surrounded in soundproof foam, almost like I could hear my own heartbeat. But after several seconds, he leaned back in his seat "Very well, next question. I'd like to know what iw as you were doing before you suddenly appeared in the middle of the Emerald Forest." Ozpin said
Wait…THAT IS WHERE I WAS DROPPED!? I know that my luck is bad, but for fucks sake!
But back to the question at hand…how do exactly tell someone that I was blown into a thousand tiny little pieces, was put back together, and was dropped from my world to another WITHOUT making him question my sanity?
"Well…" I began
But…should I really tell him about Earth? About the war? And what I know? I mean, I know he's probably one of the wisest characters in the show, but I seriously doubt he would believe all of this.
.
"Are you alright Mr. Pendragon?" Should I call Ms. Peach so that you could get further medial attention?" Ozpin asked
No…at least don't tell him what I know. The less people who know what I know, the better. Besides…some of the characters have a tendency to babble so…but I can at least tell Ozpin where I came from.
"No, it's fine, I've had enough sharp things shoved into me as of late." I said "Though, it's going to be one helluva story I'll tell you that."
"Believe me, Mr. Pendragon. There isn't a lot og things in this world that would surprise me." Ozpin said
Well…I guess we'll see about that
I took in a deep breath before speaking "Well…I'm a human from another world called Earth which is also a home of humanity! There was this big war that started, involving all of my world's countries, even ours, which is surprising because we were supposed to be nice. Anyways, a lot of people were caught in the cross fire of this war, and it eventually went nuclear after a little while, if you don't know what nuclear energy is it's basically a very powerful power source though it has a nasty affect on the human body. After a while, the land was to infested with radiation to support life so we eventually had to go underground to avoid the affects of said radiation. Though I wasn't so lucky, you see we sorta developed these things called nuclear bombs that basically messed up anyone in or out of the blast radius. I somehow got into the center of a blast, it went as well as you would have expected it to. Though apparently I was put back together after I was blown a part and I was dumped onto this planet for some reason." I said in rapid succession, as I took in a deep breath
.
.
Ozpin just stare at me with a deadpanned expression
…And he thinks I'm crazy, Honestly, I shouldn't be that surprised, I mean I did say that I came back from the dead, which is usually impossible. Then again, I can always just show him my ph-!
"Well, that would certainly explain everything up to this point." Ozpin said
.
.
.
I'm sorry what?
"We don't have a single file or record under the name of Christian Pendragon in all of Vale, Atlas, Vacuo, and Mistral, so as far-fetched as it sounds. It does explain why you seem to not exist in any of the kingdoms." Ozpin said
"Wait, wait, wait, wait, just like that!? You believe me just like that!?" I asked, bewildered that he believed me so easily
"Yes, Mr. Pendragon, I trust you. But I can't say that I believe you just yet." Ozpin said
"B-but I-! You don't-! What!?" I stumbled
"It's as I said Mr. Pendragon, there isn't a lot of things in this world that would surprise me." Ozpin said "Thought I hared the mentioning of war in your story. If you don't mind m asking, could you be a bit more specific with it? I mean, this world has its own share of wars, but to make it's own land unable to support life? I'll have to admit, you've peaked my curiosity." Ozpin said
"Well…that's a bit of a complicated question. I only got the details of the war from news networks and social media. And all of those made the other opposing sides look like complete monsters. Though I seriously doubt that was the case." I said "As for how it impacted me directly…I'd rather leave that part out."
"I see…" Ozpin said "It seems that our definition of war isn't so far off, Mr. Pendragon." Ozpin said
"Yeah…but a handful of people took their grudge a little too far." I said
"But how did it affect you?" Ozpin asked
"Pardon?" I asked
"The war, when the opportunity of conflict presents itself…it tends to change people or to be more precise, to draw out your true self that you worked so hard to suppress." Ozpin clarified "So…how did the war change you?"
.
.
.
"I'd…" I began "…I'd rather not go into the details if that's alright. It's been a dark few years for me. Can we change the topic?"
"Very well." Ozpin said "So, what is your world like? I'm curious to see what progress humanity had made before it doomed itself into the underground."
"Well, it's kind of like this place…except there are none of those…skeleton-monsters." I said, trying not to use the word "Grimm"
Hey, there are times I have to play the clueless idiot!
"Those would be the Grimm." Ozpin said "It sounds like our worlds have quite the striking differences."
"What's a Grimm?" I asked in faked arrogance
"Strange, I never thought I'd need to tell another individual about the Grimm." Ozpin said "The Grimm are a race of monsters that inhabit our world and are the biggest threat to mankind's progress. They are creatures of destruction that lack a soul and are drawn towards negative emotions; envy, sadness, loneliness, fear, hatred. Often congregating on the source of these emotions."
"Though even without those monsters, somehow we managed to screw it all up." I said
"What about the Faunus?" Ozpin asked
"The what?" I asked in faked arrogance
"Not even the Faunus exist in your world?" Ozpin asked "My, what a strange place you live in."
"Hey, isn't your home full of monsters and other things I don't know about?" I asked "I should be the one saying that your world is strange."
"True, but it's only in a matter of perspective Mr. Pendragon." Ozpin said
"Anyways, what is a Faunus?" I asked in faked arrogance
"A Faunus is a person with animal-like features on their body." Ozpin explained "They can range from ears, tails, fins, and even scales."
"That's…weird." I said
"Be careful when and who you say that around Mr. Pendragon. There have been quite a few problems with the subject of race." Ozpin said
"W-What!? No! I didn't mean to sound racist! I'm just saying that those kind of people don't exist in my world!" I stumbled "I mean, they do, but only in forms of art or even TV shows!"
"I'm merely joking. I understand that you would find it strange." Ozpin said "You are in an unfamiliar world, with unfamiliar terrain, unfamiliar creatures, unfamiliar history, and an unfamiliar political system. As far as I'm concerned, you're basically stuck here."
"Yeah, I kind of figured out that part by now…" I muttered
"But, I hope you don't mind me asking…where do you intend to go?" Ozpin asked
"I…" I began, until I stopped myself from answering. I don't really have anything to go bak to, not that I can just magically go back in the first place. "I'm…not really sure, I mean, this is a whole new world out there for me. And I really did learn first hand how dangerous these 'Grimm' are. I can't really see myself living for more than a few days."
"Hmm…well, how about instead of wandering Remnant aimlessly, how about you study here at my academy?" Ozpin suggested
"Well, what do you guys exactly teach here?" I asked
"I see that your unfamiliar with the concept of Huntsman and Huntresses. You see, this school, as well as three others were specifically made to mold and refine generations of potential warriors to be Hunters, the protectors of our world." Ozpin explained "These warriors have taken it upon themselves and dedicated their lives to protect humanity from the Grimm, and themselves. They are elite fighters, far surpassing any military officer. Tell me Mr. Pendragon, how many fights have you been in?"
"Well, I do try to keep my attitude under control, but the times I don't kept me getting into fights when I was a kid." I said "Then, the war came…so, I at least know how to throw a proper punch."
"How many fights have you won since then?" Ozpin asked
"Uh…" I began "Not as much…"
"I see. So it appears that you don't have a lot of experience in combat. The Grimm aren't like any other animals you may have encountered in your world, they are savage beasts with the sole purpose of wiping out humanity Not only will you be fighting the Grimm, but you'll also be fighting unfamiliar enemies with powers and skills beyond the average person." Ozpin said
"Yeah, I think I learned that first hand." I said, clutching my stomach "But…what if I refuse?"
"There is no shame in running. However if you would allow me, I would like to personally train you to properly wield your Sacred Arm, as well as teach you how to use its power." Ozpin said
"Wait, but why me of all people? Not that I'm complaining or anything, but don't you have any other warriors that could utilize its abilities far more than I can?" I asked
"That may be true, but I don't think you or any of us has a choice in the matter Mr. Pendragon." Ozpin said
"What do you mean?" I asked
"You see, in order for someone to possess a Sacred Arm, they need to be born with it and only one may exist at a time. How they choose their wielders is unknown to us." Ozpin said "The Sacred Arm in your body is a part of you and you are a part of it as well. To put it in simpler terms, your very life is intertwined with it. As such, taking someone's Sacred Arm is like taking someone's life."
"…So…you're telling me, if I get it removed…I'll die?" I asked
Ozpin nodded "Yes. The only way to part with it is through death, Mr. Pendragon. But, if the Sacred Arm in your body chose to save you from certain death, then I think it's safe to assume that it has taken quite the interest in you."
"Wait, have you handled with something like this before?" I asked
"I have taught two individuals how to use their Sacred Arm's power once before, I can do it again." Ozpin said as he got up from his chair, circled to the other side of his desk where I was sitting and extended his hand "So what do you say Mr. Pendragon?"
.
.
Well…it's not like I have a whole lot of options to begin with. Besides, I may have an idea what to do while I'm here.
"Ozpin…" I said as I stood up from my seat and shook his hand. "You got yourself a deal."
"Excellent, now before I go and show you to your room, I need you to close your eyes and concentrate." Ozpin said
"Oz, I swear to god, if you're trying to kiss me, I'm throwing you out the window." I said
Ozpin chuckled "I can assure you, Mr. Pendragon, that his not the case. Now, close your eyes and concentrate."
I did as he said and closed my eyes. All I could see was black, almost as if I was back in the void again. I began to concentrate, shutting out any form of sound until the only thing I could hear was my heartbeat.
"For it is passing that we achieve immortality, through this, we become a paragon of virtue and glory to rise above all, infinite in distance and unbound by death, I release your soul, and by my shoulder protect thee." Ozpin chanted
As he finished, I could feel a surge of energy flow throughout my body. Not expecting the sudden surge, I gasped for a breath of air as I stumbled backwards. I felt…amazing, like I could take on the entire world! For the first time, in the last three years…I felt truly alive!
"W-What did you just do!? I-I feel like I was just renewed somehow!" I said in an astonished tone
"I used my aura to unlock your own. Your aura is one of the key tools a Huntsman ahas; it is his shield. By baring your soul outwards as a force, you can deflect harm. Your aura is the key to obtain a Semblance, a manifestation of one's innate and personal power as an ability unique to each individual."
"So it's pretty much a force field and some sort of battery for superpowers, right?" I asked
"That's one way of looking at it, yes. Come now, I will show you to your room." Ozpin said as he walked towards the elevator
'I guess there's no turning back now…' I thought to myself
"Are you coming Mr. Pendragon?" Ozpin asked
"Huh? Oh, yeah." I said, as I walked towards the elevator
Beacon Academy, Eastern Dormatories | August 30th, 20XX | 7:00 PM | (My POV)
After my meeting and agreement with Ozpin, we began to walk to the room that I would be staying in for the time I'm here.
I still can't believe that this is actually happening! In a span of what felt like a a few hours, I was blown to pieces, only to find myself in the void, came back from said void, was thrown into the world of Remnant, met Thumbelina Peach (whom for some reason we haven't even seen in the actual show for some reason. I mean, from the looks of it, she's a really nice person! Why the hell havnt we seen her!?), met THE Professor Ozpin, and granted me an opportunity to become a Huntsman and get my aura unlocked in the same day!
I am totally geeking out right now!
.
Getting back on track, meanwhile it does feel like the same day to me, but from what I was told, it's almost been an entire week with me unconscious for most of it. Still, I'm not entirely sure how I got here, or even if there is a way back. But…do I really want to go back to Earth? Don't get me wrong, I do miss my mom, my brothers, and even my friends. But what's the point of living if you're just going to spend the rest of your life underground, isolating yourself from a land that's basically unliveable along with even more days of. But on the other hand, the world that I'm in is filled with monsters that wants to kill anything and everything that lives and breathes. Well, at least I can live here, so I'll deal with the monsters.
Besides, I'm being trained to kill said monsters, so it's not like I'll be completely defenceless! Now that we're on the topic…
"Hey, Professor Ozpin, do you mind if I ask you a question?" I asked
I mean, he's technically my professor now, so…
"Of course, I'm sure you have many questions about our world." Ozpin said, as we entered where the Eastern Dormitories were
"That's the understatement of the century." I said, earning a chuckle from the Headmaster "Do you have any idea on how I got here, or how I can possibly get back?"
"Oh, are you considering going back to your world?" Ozpin asked with a small grin on his face
I let out a slight chuckle "Not particularly, I mean, living in a world filled with monster doesn't sound appealing to most people, but the world I used to live on is practically in ruins, so I'm not exactly keen on going back anytime soon. And it's not like I'll be completely defenceless against them, I'm just curious how I got here in the first place."
"I see. Well, to answer your question, I believe that the spirit that lies in your weapon was the one who brought you here." Ozpin said
"Yeah, right. What was it called again?" I asked
"A Sacred Arm." Ozpin said "To be more precise, the Enchanted Arm Viserion: The Blue Dragon King's gauntlet. The same weapon that is attached to you when you had first arrived."
That's a bit of a mouthful…
"So, do you mind going into further details on all of that? I'm not exactly from here so I don't really know a whole lot about-…wait, did you say dragon!?" I asked in shock
"Oh, so you do have them in your world?" Ozpin asked
"No, not necessarily. They're just creatures from fantasy novels and games." I said "Then again, I'm here so…I don't know what to believe anymore."
"I have a feeling that you're not the only ones who felt that way." Ozpin said
"Wait, what do you mean by that?" I asked
"Well, if you are going to master such a power, then you might as well need to know the tale behind it." Ozpin said, ignoring my question
.
.
"So…are you going to tell me or…?" I asked
"Let us speak in the open room we have prepared. That way the tale can be told in a more relaxing atmosphere." Ozpin said
"The atmosphere?" I asked
"Mr. Pendragon. Telling a story is so much more than reciting words you have previously memorized. Everything must be taken into account when telling a tale, the atmosphere, the time of day, the location, and most importantly, the way you present the tale." Ozpin said
But before I was able to answer back, I took what he said and gave it some thought. Ten years ago, before the war, before everything went to hell, there was a time where all of us were happy, where all of us were free. I remember the sound, the chill of a cold winters night. The lamp in my room fading on and off in a calming rhythm. And for the cherry on top, was my aunt, reading the Sword in the Stone in a calm yet ecstatic tone. I guess it really has been a while since she did that and I've forgotten all about it. I think I may have the story downloaded on my phone, I might as well read for for nastolgic reasons when I have the time.
"I guess that's true." I said "My aunt used to read me an old tale before I went to sleep when I was little. It's actually how I got my last name."
"And which tale is that?" Ozpin asked
"It's called the Sword in the Stone." I said "And how about we wait for a more relaxing atmosphere?"
Ozpin chuckled at my remark "Very well." He said, as we arrived at the room I would be staying at. Room 306 it read, the sixth room on the third floor. "Shall we?" He said, pulling out a pair of keys from his pocket
"Shall so, I guess." I said
"Now, you will have to stay in a room designed for four people because we don't have a room made for one person." Ozpin said as he opened the door to the room
"That's alright. I like having my own personal space anyway." I said "Especially after being cramped for so long."
As we entered the room I would be staying in, I began to take a look at the rooms surroundings. There was a single average sized bed in the right corner of the room, a book shelf in the middle corner of the room with a variety of books mainly for the different classes here at Beacon. Remnant History, Grimm Studies, Dust and Plant Sciences, Huntsman Laws and Regulations, etc. There was a desk next to the right side of the bookshelf with an assortment of pens, pencils, notebooks, and other supplies when taking notes. On the wall next to the desk was a rather large painting of what I assume if Forever Fall based on the red leaves.
Even further to the right was a singular bathroom. Considering that this room was specifically made for four people, and with only one person staying in it, it was very spacious
"No, Mr. Pendragon…" Ozpin trailed off at he patted the bed with his cane "Sit. Allow me to explain the origin behind the power you will be wielding from here on out."
Doing as what Ozpin said, I walked over to the bed and sat down.
"Now, allow me to tell you the tale of the Sacred Arms." Ozpin began "Long ago, when the kingdoms rose up from the ashes and prospered…" Ozpin trailed off
.
.
"Is…everything alright?" I asked
Ozpin perked up "Yes. Sorry, it's been a rather busy day." He said as he regained his composure. "When the kingdoms rose up from the ashes and prospered. Tales told of weapons, relics, capable of performing acts of miracles, there were known as the Sacred Arms."
"Wait, then where did they come from?" I asked
"That, I do not know. The origins of the Sacred Arms themselves are constantly wrapped in superstition, making them difficult to exactly pinpoint where they came from." Ozpin said, but with a slightly off tone "They varied in sizes, shapes, and powers. However, these thirteen were the first and the most powerful of the Sacred Arms: Triam, Summit Tempest, Dimension Astray, Black Dragon King's Hand, Leonidas Nemean, Canis Hrunting, Oblivion Creator, Sunforge Hymn, Sheer Cold, Innovate Clear, Destiny Karma, Sefirot Graal..." He trailed off as he pointed towards my arm "The Blue Dragon King's Gauntlet" He finished
"Huh…kind of ironic now that I think about it." I said
"These weapons performed many miracles and those who possessed them, their names were forever etched out through time. Some say that these were nothing more than acts of aura and Dust." Ozpin said
"Wait…Dust?" I asked in faked arrogance "As in a ball of dirt and hair?"
"Strange, I never thought I'd teach an individual about the concept of Dust in the same day." Ozpin said "Dust is a natural occurring energy that can be triggered by the aura of Humans and Faunus'. But in reality, they are much more."
"Okay…like what?" I asked in faked arrogance
"It powers our machines and it is used to give weapons…a little more kick to fight the forces of Grimm." Ozpin said "Anyways, bu as the knowledge of the Sacred Arms spread across the land, so did the greed of people's hearts. They began to hunt down any individual with a Sacred Arm and devised an unknown method of ripping the relic out of the hosts' body."
"And then they die, right?" I asked
"Yes." Ozpin said
"Why do people make worse things even worse than it is…" I muttered
"Unfortunately, it is one of the main common principles of man." Ozpin said "So, the remaining users were driven into hiding and over the past centuries, the knowledge of these relics became lost to time. But they are still among us, and those who do have a Sacred Arm are unaware that they have it. You currently have the Sacred Arm known as Enchanted Arm Viserion, one of the Thirteen Arms of Niceodemus. Those who are said to wield them are destined for nobility."
"Well believe me, I'm pretty far from what you call 'noble'." I said
"Perhaps." Ozpin said as he got up and walked towards the door
"Uh, where are you going?" I asked
"Yo should probably get some rest for tomorrow." Ozpin said
"Wait, you mean we're going to start training tomorrow?" I asked
"No, I want you to explore the campus, get familiar with the layout of the area, and above all, meet some new people. It's always good to have people you can trust, especially in times of crisis." Ozpin said as he closed the door behind him
I sighed and walked over to the bathroom, turned on the sink, and splashed more cold water onto my face. After turning the tap to it's right, I grabbed a nearby towel to dry off my face and walked out of the bathroom…only to see a brown package on my bed
"…How long was that there for?" I asked myself "And how in the hell did Ozpin even sneak it in!?"
I sat down on the bed and opened the box, revealing two items in it. One of those items was a set of a grey sweatshirt and shorts, presumably pyjamas. The other, was a set of two solid white end grips with a diamond-shaped button in the centre; it was a Scroll
"I mean, I guess Ozpin is nothing but persuasive." I said to myself, as I took out the two items
I placed the scroll on top of the desk and started to get changed out of my usual clothes and into my pyjamas…which somehow perfectly fit. I mean, I guess they got my measurements of off Peach who was watching over me. But, I couldn't help myself but feel a little stressed out over everything. So, I took out my phone, unlocked it, and began to scroll through the various songs I had on it.

I took in a deep breath, as I placed my headphones into my ears, laid down and turned on one of the various songs I had on my phone, 'I guess this is my life now, huh?'
Beacon Academy, Eastern Dormatories | August 30th, 20XX | 7:08 PM | (3rd Person POV)
As soon as the Headmaster left the dorm, he had let out a light silent sigh as he walked away. Meanwhile he did tell him the story of the Sacred Arms, it was only a part of it. Ozpin deemed it necessary to keep parts to himself until the boy had adjusted to his new life here. To most people, a boy from another world sounds preposterous, but that would explain the trinkets they found in his pockets. And the fact that the boy carried a Sacred Arm makes him even more special.
In a way, the boy reminded the Headmaster of another fairy tale: The Girl Who Fell Through The World. Where a girl by the name of Alyx fell through Remnant and found herself in a brand new world. Could he have used the same method to travel here?
"Did you tell him?" A voice asked
Ozpin turned around to see Glynda walking up behind him "Mostly. This is a new world to him, Glynda. I think it's best that we give him pieces of the story so that way he isn't too overwhelmed. And once he gains more confidence and unlocks more of its power, I'll tell him the rest." He said as he walked off
Beacon Academy, Courtyard | August 31st, 20XX | 6:00 PM | (My POV)
The next day came by quicker than I initially expected. So, I did what Ozpin wanted me to do and explore the campus itself. I know I've seen part of the campus from the show, but seeing it in-person, I could marvel how much depth, and how beautiful and massive this place really is! I mean, this entire academy could be considered a castle on it's own; everything about this place was beautiful…at least when comparing to the classrooms I had back on Earth. From the the library, to the classrooms, to the auditorium, everything…I know I said this, but it was almost I was in Hogwarts itself!
Then again…I guess this won't last very long in the future because most of it will be reduced to rubble.
Before I actually went to sleep, I had to think. I'm here and I know what is going to happen…so, why don't I do something about it? How about I try to stop as much as I can, even if it does mean that I have to face against the Grimm Queen that was seen at the end of Volume Three. Then again, I don't even know much about her, or how I'm able to prevent all of those things! But hey, no one said that this would be easy. Speaking of knowing things…
"How in the hell do these people know where to go around here!?" I slightly shouted
As you can tell, I was still having trouble trying to figure my way around the school, and the map doesn't help! So, I made my way to the courtyard to get a better look at my surroundings, until I saw what I presume to be new students because they're dragging suitcases and bags into the dormitories…those are the dormitories, right?
Now, before I can even plan what to before and during the Fall or any other events, I need to know exactly when I am. If I'm in the events of Volume One, then this will be WAY harder than I expected, considering I need to learn how to fight before I fight someone like a Maiden!
"Oof!" A voice huffed, catching me off guard from the sudden contact. I was so deep in thought that I didn't know that I had bumped into someone
"Ow, I'm sorry sir, I didn't mean to trouble you." The person said in an Australian accent
"No, it's my fault." I should've looked where I was going." I reassured
"No, I should've looked where I was going, it's my fault." She said
"No, really, it's not a problem." I said, holding out my hand to help the girl out. "I think we got off on the wrong foot, why don't we start over. My name is Christian Pendragon, and you are?" I asked the girl as she took my hand and pulled her up
"Thank you, and yes, that sounds good." She said
As I pulled her up, I finally started to take in her appearance. The girl had long brown hair and matching brown eyes. She wore a short, long sleeved jacket with a golden zipper, brown pants and black leggings with golden detail. She also wore a black, semi-translucent undershirt that was beneath her jacket, along with golden spaulders and vambraces on both of her arms, as well as a similar looking belt. The top of her leggings are edged with a similar band and her heels are likely protected. But the most noticeable thing about her, was the pair of long brown rabbit ears.
.
.
Oh. My. God.
"Hello, my name is Velvet Scarlatina. It's nice to meet you, Christian." She said with a warm smile
.
.
.
"Um, are you alright?" Velvet asked me with a confused look on her face
Okay Christian, don't be nervous, she's just a normal girl…with a pair of adorable rabbit ears. Just say something God dammit! Why the hell is this so awkward!?
"Yeah, I'm alright." I said "So…I…uh…like your ears?"
"Oh!…Um, thanks?" Velvet said
What the hell are you doing!? You know what, just roll with it!
"So, uh, yeah, the way Faunus are treated these days is absolutely terrible." I said, trying not to sound awkward
"Oh, I know, it's absolutely horrible! So, are you a first year student?" Velvet asked
"What, oh, I'm actually training here to be a Huntsman." I said
"Well, yeah, we all are. So what year are you, then? First? Second? Third?" Velvet asked once more
Well, I worded that one wrong
"Oh no, I meant that I'm learning how to fight here." I corrected
Velvet looked at me in shock "What!? I thought you have to go to one of the combat schools before you could train here!"
"Well, let's just say that I'm a bit more of a special case." I said
Velvet titled her head in confusion, but shrugged her shoulders "So, why did you want to become a Huntsman?"
…That's actually a good question. Why do I want to become a Huntsman? I sort of just accepted the offer and left it at that. I mean, I know what I'm going to do before and during the Fall, even thought I still need to plan everything out…but what am I going to do after that? I never really gave it that much thought to be honest. So why do I want to do this? And what is exactly pushing me forward? Well…
"I guess it's because…I have nothing left to go back to, and nothing left to lose." I said
Yep, I'm using that line!
Velvet's ear's perked up "…W-What do you mean you don't have anything to go back to?"
"I mean exactly as I said. No home, no family, no friends, nothing to go back to." I said "Not after what happened."
"…I-If you don't mind me asking. What exactly happened to you?" Velvet asked
"…"
"R-Right, I shouldn't have asked. I get that it's a sensitive subject for you and I probably didn't really he-!" Velvet began
I cut her off. "No, it's alright. I guess it would be nice to tell someone about what happened that day. But, only just a bit."
Yeah, I should probably get one of my many problems out of the way first, and that is a cover story. As it would look off if a random student was let in one of the most prestigious Huntsman academies out of the blue by Ozpin. Sure, I could say I got in due to a letter of recommendation or something, but that story wouldn't add up as I don't even know how to fight! People would immediately know that was a lie in an instant! Then again, Jaune got in with fake transcripts so…who knows.
I need a cover story that holds truth to people that can somehow detect lies, but also leaves no loose ends and that story has to be the war happening back on Earth. And as Ozpin said, there is no record of me in any of the four kingdoms, I'm pretty much a "ghost-ninja." Besides, I only need to tell enough to get some of the more nosey individuals off of my back and need to keep it consistent as much as I can. But nothing too in depth as not only am I trying to make it sound believable, I'd rather leave those parts out for more…sentimental reasons.
"Are you sure?" Velvet asked
"Look, I'm not exactly one for patience. So, do you want to hear it, or not?" I asked
"…I would be lying if I said that I wasn't the least bit curious about what happened." Velvet said
Alright, I only get one shot then you have to live with this cover story for the rest of my life. Remember, keep it consistent and make it hold a majority of the truth.
"Well, if you really want to know, I should tell you about it from the very beginning." I said "I used to live on a small island outside the boarders between Vale and Vacuo called Laval. It was relatively free of Grimm and the whole White Fang situation going on down there. Though, that didn't mean that it didn't have its own share of problems. With the Grimm not being that much of a problem, everyone started to get paranoid and started to turn on one another."
"W-Wait. Are you saying that your home fell because-!" Velvet began
"Yeah, my home didn't fall because of the Grimm, or was it because of a feud between Humans and Faunus. It fell because of its very own people, because they couldn't even settle a little grudge with one another and decided to drag everyone down with them. People stole from one another…killed one another, and every man, woman, and child paid the price for the actions just from the actions of a small group of people. They didn't even have anything to do with it, some were just born into this world. But clearly, neither of them cared. All they cared about was settling their little grudge and grievances."
"…What was the grudge that drove them to destroy their own home?" Velvet asked
"Not even I know anymore, it was a fairly big place. I don't know if it involved racism, if it involved gender, if it involved beliefs, but whatever it was, it brought the downfall of my home. As far as I know, I'm the only survivor of the destruction of my home. Everyone else was gone, burned or killed in the remains of what was left." I said " All that I knew was that I wanted to get the hell out of there as fast as I could and when I wasn't able to find anyone, I bolted, got a boat an got off the island. And with me being the only one left, I had nowhere left to go, everyone I knew or cared about was gone. What I did know what that I didn't want any of this to happen again, so I headed to Beacon and got my hands on something that got the attention of the Headmaster." I said
.
.
.
"So, here I am. The last time I saw it, my home was nothing more than a burning rock. Always asking the question, what more could I lose. And the only thing that's pushing me forward is to find someone." I said
"Wait, you're looking for someone?" Velvet asked
"Yeah, before my home burned down, a good man told me about this person. But he wasn't able to stop them, which is why he told me what he knew, so that way I could stop them…whatever it is that they're dong." I finished, turning back towards Velvet who had an expression of shock an concern on her face
"I'm sorry.?" Velvet sad
"What?" I asked
"I said that I'm sorry." Velvet repeated
"Why are you apologizing?" I asked "You didn't burn down my home."
"I know. It's just…I'm sorry that you had to go through all of that." Velvet said
"Oh…well, thanks, I guess." I said
"If you don't mind me asking, what was this mans name?" Velvet asked
"He went by the name…of Monty." I said
"Were you two close?" Velvet asked
"Not really." I said "Though, he was a good man. He helped at lot of people, even inspired them."
"Well, I'm sure he entrusted you with this knowledge of his for a reason. He must have saw something in you." Velvet said
"Either that or it was because I was the only person alive at the time." I said
"Don't be like that!" Velvet said "But what reason he had, I'm sure you'll be able to find and stop this person."
Maybe. I mean she does have magical powers, so it's not exactly going to be a walk in the park.
"Also…" Velvet trailed off, putting her hand on my shoulder "I hope that you find another purpose to live one day."
"Yeah, probably." I said
"You're a strange one, you know that?" Velvet asked
"Well, what else is new?" I asked
"Oh, no! I didn't mean it like that! It's just that you've lost everything you've loved and yet here you are trying to pushing forward." Velvet said
"…"
"Anyways, I should be get to the opening ceremony. It's been a pleasure meeting you, Christian! I really hope that we can tlak more sometime! I'd like to know more about what it was like on the island you grew up on." Velvet said as she walked away
"Yeah, see you later." I said as I waved
Velvet responded with a wave of her own and turned back towards the amphitheatre. But as she disappeared behind the amphitheatre's massive doors, I couldn't help myself but think about what she said: "Oh, no! I didn't mean it like that! It's just that you've lost everything you've loved and yet here you are trying to pushing forward."
I mean, don't get me wrong, the thought that your friends and family might be dead isn't exactly settling. But forgive me if I sound like an emo, I don't have to think about it. Based on Velvet is walking towards the opening ceremony, this means I have exactly one year before the events of the main timeline and less than two years before the Fall. After that…I'm not entirely sure, but I'll worry about that later. Right now, I need to focus and to be ready for the things to come.
I turned my head towards Beacon Tower, looking at the massive structure as the sun shone behind it. I then stared down towards my right hand, only to see a red glowing circle on my hand before it diminished. I rose my right hand towards my mouth "So…a Sacred Arm is what your called? I don't exactly know who are what you are, or the reason why you brought me back from the dead. Though, if you truly have chosen me of all people to wield your power…then I might as well use it to…change things up a bit." I smirked and walked towards the tower.
