Beacon Academy, Pendragon Dorm 306 | September 1st, 20XX | 4:00 AM | (My POV)

"Mr. Pendragon." I heard a muffled voice say in the distance. Though due to my state of slumber, I wasn't paying much attention to the voice "…Mr. Pendragon. It is time to start your training." The voice repeated

…Meh, I'll start training later…sleep comes first…

"…If you don't wake up on your own accord, then I will have to use a more forceful method to do so." The voice said

Zzzzzz….

"…Very well. Know that you have brought this on yourself." The voice said

*HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONK!* Suddenly, a sudden loud blast of sound blared across the room.

"AAAAAHHHH!?" I yelled out, as my eyes shot opened, started to flail uncontrollably around the bed until I fell to the floor and dragged the blanket along with me. I whipped the blanket off of my head and towards the source of the noise to see it was Ozpin with a scroll in his hands and earmuffs on his head

"Ah, good to see that you're awake." Ozpin said as he turned his scroll off

"WHAT THE HELL!? I shouted "WHO WAKES UP PEOPLE WITH AN AIRHORN!?"

It's only funny when it happens to other people!

"Well, I tried to wake you up in a more normal manner. But I soon realized that you are quite the heavy sleeper." Ozpin said

"Though, was blowing out my eardrums that necessary?" I asked

"Maybe, thought at the time it was the only option available to me." Ozpin said

I sighed as I rubbed my temples "What time is it anyway?"

"I believe it's about four in the morning." Ozpin said

.

.

I whipped my head towards the window, expecting to see the sun…only to see the shattered moon and various stars in its place. "YOU WOKE ME UP IN FOUR IN THE MORNING!?"

"My, you're quite the loud young man aren't you?" Ozpin asked

"That's not the point!" I said "The point is that the sun isn't even up yet!"

"Meaning, we'll have more time to figure out what you're capable of." Ozpin said "It is time to start your training as not only as a Huntsman, but to also utilize the power of the Sacred Arm on your body. It chose you for a reason Mr. Pendragon."

"Right, so how do I exactly use it's power? Is there a switch…or a button…maybe a trigger-?" I asked as I twisted and turned my right arm

"Part of that may be correct, Mr. Pendragon. from what you've told me, you managed to use a small amount of power. I believe the trigger this power is connected to your emotions." Ozpin said

"My…emotions?" I questioned

"Any Sacred Arm works in direct correlation with the current feelings of its user." Ozpin explained "I'm simpler terms, the stronger those feeling are, the more powerful your Sacred Arm will become, even if it is just a small fraction. But if you want to use the full extent of those powers, you'll need to forge an agreement or some sort of pact with the Sacred Arm itself."

"You mean like some sort of contract?" I asked, earning a nod from Ozpin. "Contracts, power…does it usually end in something bad?"

"Only time will tell." Ozpin said

"That's not reassuring." I said "I don't even read the terms and conditions of things before clicking accepting them on the computer."

Ozpin chuckled "Don't be so doubtful Mr. Pendragon. The fact that the Sacred Arm willingly chose to bring you back and healed you says that it has a certain level of interest in you."

Wait, it healed me? How in the he-! You know what, never-mind.

"Still, I've read enough books and watched plenty of movies to tell me that most contracts with an entity do not end well." I said

"Well, there is quite a major difference when it comes to the events of a fictional world, and the real world." Ozpin said

My response was to give a deadpanned look

Ozpin cocked an eyebrow "Is something the matter, Mr. Pendragon?"

"What? No, it's nothing." I said "Just thinking to myself."

"…Well, time is wasting Mr. Pendragon. Every moment we waste here is a moment we could have spent honing your craft." Ozpin said

"But don't you need a craft in order to hone it?" I asked

"That may be true. Though I beleive with what I have planned for today, you will learn that you will need to ba a…fast learner." Ozpin said

"That doesn't sound good. I've seen what other students are able to do, how am I suppose to get from this…" I said gesturing to me "To that!?" I said gesturing to Ozpin

"How old are you Mr. Pendragon?" Ozpin asked

"Wait, did Peach tell you-? Never mind, I'm sixteen." I said

"Then this means that you will have to learn the basic combat requirements and to learn everything you can about this world in just one year." Ozpin said "So, if you want to keep up with the students of the next generation, I must use more…extreme training methods. Seriously, you may end up in the infirmary again."

"…I wanna die now…again." I muttered

Ozpin chuckled "Don't worry, you just need to have faith. Well, we mustn't keep everyone waiting. Come now, Mr. Pendragon, get changed into your clothes, we have lots of training to do." He said as he walked through the door rim

.

"Wait…everyone?" I asked

Beacon Academy, Beacon Tower Beacon | September 1st, 20XX | 4:20 AM | (3rd Person POV)

Despite how early it was in the morning, the many professors of Beacon Academy were wide awake and were currently waiting in Professor Ozpin's office, awaiting his return with the boy in tow. Standing present in the room, were all the professor's of Beacon Academy, each one teaching or training a specific topic for each of their students. Professor Port, who was standing with his left arm and hand across his chest in a form of salute. Professor Bartholomew Oobleck, who was just as energetic as ever even without his coffee. Thumbelina Peach, who was looking over various notes, including the data she's gathered from the boy. Glynda Goodwitch, who was having doubts about the current situation. And then two other professors who stood with the rest of them.

The first professor was a middle-age female with a dark tan complexion and golden hair with a matching set of yellow eyes. Her clothing was a japanese-styled outfit with a trimmed hem made for easier movement and consisted of darker colours such as black and grey. She also wore black leggings which stopped near her thighs, hidden under kimono skirt. Along with her outfit, came with a custom sheath that hung from her back that housed a katana. This was Professor Ann Greene, who taught Stealth an Security at Beacon Academy.

The last professor was a middle-aged man with a more muscular build compared to the male professor's of Beacon Academy. He had black hair with a matching beard, green eyes, and a white complexion. His outfit consisted of a long sleeved dark purple shirt with noticeable black marks, presumably burn marks. Along with his shirt came with a worn, black apron, brown leather pants and black boots. This was Professor Harold Mulberry, who taught Weapon Crafting and Upkeep at Beacon Academy.

Professors such as Harold and Oobleck were ecstatic, seeing the Sacred Arms were real, change the course of history and weapons forging forever. Professor Port was ecstatic to tell this individual about one of his stories in his youth. But Professor Glynda Goodwitch wasn't exactly ecstatic, seeing that Ozpin had chosen a mere child to handle this much power…not that it could be helped. Seeing that removing that Sacred Arm from the boy would result in his death.

"I still can't believe that Ozpin is entrusting such a power to a mere child. This is not something someone of his age should be handling." Glynda said

"Come now, Glynda. Ozpin wouldn't have chosen the boy to bear such a responsibility without a good reason." Port said

"I still can't believe that the legends are true! Everything we have ever known about our current history has been completely changed! Every tales of the respective Sacred Arm is now fact!" Oobleck said, more hyperactive than usual

"I know! Not only that, but if the gauntlet exists, then that means that the other thirteen must be out there somewhere! Just waiting to be awakened!" Harold said

"Not only that, but there is a possibility that there are not one, not two, not three I tell you, but possibly hundreds of other people with Sacred Arms in their bodies and roaming Remnant as we speak!" Oobleck said

"It is quite the incredible thought indeed. To think all those tales people in our youth looked up to and admired were true all along." Port said

"…" Glynda and Ann remained silent

Peach noticed their discomfort "Glynda, Ann, are you both alright? You've both been rather quiet since Ozpin called us here."

The Witch sighed and walked over towards Ozpin's desk "Yes, we're just concerned."

"Concerned for what, if I may ask?" Oobleck asked

"Glynda and I have been taking about the stories, and the relic's actions have defied almost everything the legends have told us." Ann said

"What do you mean?" Port asked

"I mean that in every legend of the Sacred Arms known to man, not a single one has ever acted on their own accord, let alone heal them without a proper link between them and the user." Glynda said "At least…it doesn't seem like the child has given anything up to use its power."

"Right…yes, I can see why that would raise some concerns." Oobleck said

"The power of these objects far surpasses the capabilities of anyone in this room. Though unlike our semblances, there is a big risk to using this power." Glynda said

"Risk?" Peach asked

"Yes, and it is one that could cost him his very life." Glynda said

"You act as if you have seen this before." Port said

"It's because I have, we all have. I'm sure you all remember when Ozpin took them in as his pupil alls those years ago. Have you ever wondered why?" Glynda asked

"Hmm…hold on a moment, you mean to tell us that they are-!?" Oobleck began

"Yes, both of them had a Sacred Arm in their bodies. But only one of them carried one of the thirteen. It's why Ozpin took them in, so that he could teach them how to use their powers." Glynda said

"But we all know how that turned out." Ann said

.

.

"…Well now, this has certainly been an morning indeed." Port said

"Though if Ozpin has taught not one, but two of them in the past, then I'm sure that he will be able to teach him how to use its power!" Peach said

"…Perhaps." Glynda said

"But to ensure we don't repeat the past, we all need to pitch in." Ann said "Even then, there's a great risk."

"Well now, I was going to explain the situation to them myself. Though it seems that you have saved me some time!" A voiced said

The sudden voice made everyone face the elevator, where Ozpin was just walking out with his signature cane and mug in hand

Oh! Professor Ozpin! Good morning!" Port greeted

"Good morning, Port." Ozpin greeted

"So, why did you exactly call all of us here?" Peach asked

"Well, I'm sure that all of you are aware of what had transpired one week ago, correct?" Ozpin asked, causing the six professors to nod.

"I am here to tell you that as of this day, the boy named Christian Pendragon will be my own personal student." Ozpin said

"I see." Oobleck said

"As you have heard from Glynda, I had taught two other Sacred Arm users in the past. I intend to do the same with this one." Ozpin said "And as Ann suggested, we will all have to contribute to his development. We must put him to the test and push him beyond his limits."

"I see." Oobleck said

"Peter, Bartholomew. I'd like for you to take him out into the Emerald Forest for a couple days." Ozpin said

"Ah ha! Yes, there is no better experience than on the field itself!" Port said

"Not to worry Professor. We will make sure that the boy gets the lesson of a lifetime!" Oobleck said

"So, where is he?" Peach asked

"Yes, I'm actually curious to meet the boy." Harold said in a deep voice

Ozpin's response was to turn back towards the elevator "You can come in now." He said, causing the boy to turn the corner with his hands in his pockets to walk into the room.

"Hey." Christian greeted

"Oh ho! So this is your student." Port said as he walked over to the boy. "Greetings young lad! I am Professor Port, and I will be one of your instructors during you time here at Beacon! A please to meet you!" he said, extending his hand outwards

"Yeah, pleasure…" Christian said, shaking the old mans hand

"Now, this here is-." Ozpin began

But before he could finish, Oobleck rushed over to the boy, grabbed his hand and shoo it violently "A pleasure to meet you, Mr. Pendragon! My name is Doctor Oobleck! I will be teaching all about the long history of Remnant!"

"Nice…to…meet…you…too!" Christian said, his voice shaking 'Seriously, has this guy ever heard of deacaf!?'

"Now, then, I'm sure you have already met our dear doctor, Thumbelina Peach." Ozpin siad

"Hello there!" Peach said with a warm smile

"Hello again!" Christian said

"Next, we have out Stealth and Security instructor, Professor Greene." Ozpin said

"Greetings." Ann greeted with a bow

"Hey." Christian greeted 'A literal ninja…sweet.'

"Then we have is Professor Mulberry, who teaches our students how to forge their own weapons and to make sure they're in tip-top shape." Ozpin said

"He's a little scrawnier than I expected, but he'll do." Harold said

"Uh…thanks?" Christian said 'Cut me some slack man, I literally had to skip meals back on my world. It's kind of not my fault.'

"Lastly, we have our combat instructor, Glynda Goodwitch." Ozpin said

"Greetings." Glynda greeted

"Uh. hey." Christian said 'Man…she's even more professional in person.'

"Now, let's get down to business, shall we?" Ozpin said as he walked over to the boy. "So, I want you to answer me honestly, Mr. Pendragon. How much do you know when it comes to swordplay?"

"Uh…does swinging a plastic sword around when I was young count?" Christian asked

"I see. Well then, at least we have a starting point." Ozpin said "However, before we start. We'll need you to summon the Sacred Arm on your right hand."

"Okay…so…how do I exactly do this?" Christian asked, looking at his right arm

"First, you'll need to close your eyes and concentrate." Ozpin said "Next, clear your mind and focus where your body feels the strongest. In this case, it'll be your right arm. Then, picture the very weapon on your arm."

"Uh…okay?" Christian said, confused. But doing what Ozpin said, he closed his eyes, began to focus, and started to picture the gauntlet on his arm. He had to remember what it looked like: It was a blue gauntlet that covered the top of his right hand, but left the fingers exposed. It has a red jewel in the centre of it and one golden spike on each side. Unknown to him, something was starting to take shape o his right hand. First came a red jewel, then a portion of blue metal began to form near the knuckles

"He's doing it!" Peach cheered

"You can do it, lad!" Port cheered

"Picture it harder!" Oobleck shouted

Unfortunately, due to the constant different sounds surrounded him from all angles, Christian was having difficulties focusing on the image in his mind. He had tried to block out the sounds, but he couldn't. Eventually, the constant different shouting was enough to break Christian's concentration that the gauntlet faded back into his arm.

Christian's eyes shot open "I can't do it if people are shouting!"

.

.

"Sorry…" Peach apologized

Christian took in a deep breath, before exhaling. "It's alright. It's just my first time doing something like this. So I need to full concentrate on it." He said, as he closed his eyes once more and tried to picture the gauntlet once more. But unlike before, Christian was unable to summon the gauntlet onto his arm properly. He tried to picture it in his head, he tried to focus on his right arm, but after four minutes of doing this…he sighed and lowered his arm. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn't regain his concentration. An idea popped into his head as he reached into his left pocket with his left hand and pulled out his phone and headphones.

"Mr. Pendragon, may I ask what you're doing?" Ozpin asked

"Whenever I need to focus when taking a test for example, I shut everything out by playing music." Christian said "And unless you have a better idea, then I'm all ears."

.

.

"Very well." Ozpin said

Christian nodded, as he placed his headphones into his eardrums, and was about to choose a song. However, it couldn't be just a random song, it had to be smooth with a consistent rhythm to it. So Rock was off the list, as it gets the listeners adrenaline pumping instead of proper focus. Jazz would probably work, but he doesn't have that much jazz-songs on his phone. His next option was a form of Rock, but a subsection of Rock known as "Folk Rock", and he knew the perfect song for this one: The Sound of Silence, one of his mother's favourite songs. He played the song, placed the phone back into his pocket, closed his eyes, held his right arm out and began to focus.

"Hello darkness, my old friend."

"I've come to talk with you again."

"Because a vision softly creeping."

"Left its seeds while I was sleeping."

"And the vision that was planted in my brain."

"Still remains."

"Within the sound of silence."

As he continued to listen to the rhythm of the song, Christian began to clear his mind and focus more. Unknown to him, pieces of the gauntlet were starting to form. First came the red jewel in the centre, then pieces of blue metal began to form around the knuckles, which slowly began to form up his hand and around the jewel.

"In restless dreams, I walked alone."

"Narrow streets of cobblestone."

"'Neath the halo of a street lamp."

"I turned my collar to the cold and damp."

"When my eyes were stabbed by the flash of a neon light."

"That split the night."

"And touched the sound of silence."

Slowly, but surely, more pieces of blue metal began to form slowly up his forearm in the form of overlapping plates, both over and under the users arms as a form of protection.

"And in the naked light, I saw."

"Ten thousand people, maybe more."

"People talking without speaking."

"People hearing without listening."

"People writing songs that voices never shared."

"And no one dared."

"Disturb the sound of silence."

Then, two golden spikes began to form on both sides of the gauntlet, ending in sharp tips.

""Fools" said I, "You do not know."

"Silence like a cancer grows."

"Hear my words that I might teach you."

"Take my arms that I might reach you"."

"But my words, like silent raindrops fell."

"And echoed in the wells of silence."

Finally, the final pieces of the gauntlet had formed just before where his elbow was. Just as the final pieces of metal finished forming, a small, arm-length blade sprung out from where the knuckles were.

"And the people bowed and prayed."

"To the neon god they made."

"And the sign flashed out its warning."

"In the words that it was forming."

"Then the sign said, "The words on the prophets are written on the subway walls."

"In tenement halls"."

"And whispered in the sound of silence…"

As the song's lyrics finally came to a close, Christian took in a deep breath and exhaled as he opened his eyes. As his eyes opened and adjusted, he saw the the gauntlet had successfully formed on his arm.

"I-I did it…I ACTUALLY DID IT! HA HA!" Christian cheered, as he spun around the room, only to see that some of the professors were unamused "Uh…he…he…sorry…"

"It's quite alright, Mr. Pendragon." Ozpin reassured "And well done. However, it took you four minutes to successfully form it with the help of music. Meaning we'll need to sharp your mind as well. You can't always rely on your music for long, there's going to be a day where you can't use it."

"Way to ruin the mood Ozpin…" Christian muttered "Anyways, what's next?"

"Next, I want to see how good your swing is." Ozpin said, pointing to a single log in the front of the room. The log itself seemed to be made out of oak, one of the more denser types of wood and was about the size of an average tree trunk.

'…How long was that there for?' Christian asked himself "So, you just want me to cut it, that's it?"

"That isn't what I said. I want to see how good your swing is." Ozpin said

"What makes you think I can't do it?" Christian asked

"Oh, ho, Mr. Pendragon, I know that you won't be able to cut it." Ozpin said

"So much for having faith." Christian muttered, as he walked over to the log

He took in a deep breath as he steadied the blade over the log, before lifting it over his head. He then slammed the blade down onto the log…only managing to leave nothing but a small cut in it.

"Fuck…" Christian muttered, as he tried to pull the blade out of the log, only to realize that the blade was now stuck in the log. He tried to pull the log off his his free arm, but no matter how hard he tried, it wouldn't budge. "C-Come on! Get out you stupid piece of metal!"

"Now this is just embarrassing…" Harold muttered "Not that it can be helped."

Before Christian could continue, Ozpin grabbed his right arm and the log. "Allow me." He said, as he mange to pull the blade from the log with ease

"Okay, you got me there." Christian said

"I wasn't expecting you to break the log, Mr. Pendragon. You have no experience with the art of the blade, so that is to be expected. Though with the proper guidance and training…" Ozpin trailed off, as in a blink of an eye, he cut the entire log in half with his cane.

"…Wow." Christian said in surprise 'He cut it in half with a cane! A CANE OF ALL THINGS!'

"Indeed. Now let us see if you can properly use the Sacred Arm's full power, the Stasis Shatter." Ozpin said

"Okay…so…what is that and how do I do that?" Christian asked

"That is another question for another time." Ozpin said "As for how to do it, you'll need your consciousness to enter the Sacred Arm directly and talk to the being that resides in it."

"…I'm sorry what?" Christian asked 'Okay, these things are getting even more confusing by the minute!'

"Just walk over to me, Mr. Pendragon." Ozpin said

"Uh…okay?" Christian questioned, as he walked over to the Headmaster.

As he walked towards the Headmaster, Ozpin planted a hand on his shoulders. "Now, I want you to close your eyes, concentrate, and repeat after me." Ozpin said

"Enough with closing eyes and concentrating already, I kind of want to start blasting shit already…" Christian muttered, as he closed his eyes

"For, we are the answer to the eternal darkness. Bring this soul the protection they need, for one's life hangs in the balance. Protect them from forces known and unknown to them. Protect them from the dangers of this world, both above and below. Protect them, for we are now one, and let their soul break free from the dark." The two said in unison

.

.

But after several seconds, nothing happened. Ozpin released his grip on the boy's shoulder and stepped back. Christian on the other hand, was waiting for something to happen. He looked around his body, looking for unexpected changes, but there were none.

"Okay, so…now…what…?" Christian said, as he suddenly got lightheaded. Before he could comprehend what was happening, he suddenly collapsed to the ground unconscious.

"Oh my!" Peach gasped as she rushed over to the boy. She placed a finger near his neck, sighing in relief as she felt a pulse "Good, he just fell unconscious."

But what took everyone by surprise was that the very jewel in the gauntlet started to flash on and off at a steady pace

"Was that supposed to happen?" Port asked

"I don't know. This is the first time I am seeing a user establishing a proper link with a Sacred Arm." Ozpin said

Unknown (My POV)

"…Ugh," I groaned as I stirred awake "Serious…enough with me passing out already! It's starting to get old!"

But then again, Ozpin never really told me anything about this whole "linkage" process.

I got up off from the ground, dusting myself off as I looked around to see where I was. Wherever I was, I don't think I'm in Remnant anymore. The ground that I was standing on was an open field that was filled to the brim with various flowers. But behind me, was a small set of tan stairs that led upwards and past a small column of rocks. But what took me off guard was that there was a small trail of floating blue embers that led up the stairs.

"…I'm guessing that's where I have to go?" I asked myself, as I started to follow the trail of embers.

But as I took a step forwards, one of the embers in front of my direction suddenly "went off", almost as if a flick of wind blew a candle out. Not minding this, I continued to walk towards the stairs as more of those blue embers started to flicker out one by one with each step I took. But as I made it halfway towards the rock's peak, I could've sworn I heard what seemed like another pair of footsteps coming from right behind me. I quickly whipped my head towards the source of the second pair of footsteps, but there was nothing there.

"No…definitely not creepy at all." I muttered

After several minutes of traveling up the stairs, I've finally reached the rock's peask and was met with a view that I could never erase from my memories, even if I tried. The stairs had led me up to a small canyon that was walled off on all sides by jagged rocks. The area itself was mostly filled with a clear body of water that you could see the sand beneath the waves. The only piece of solid ground in the canyon itself was singular path that led to the centre of the pond. And standing in the centre was a large tree whose leaves had the same colour as the ones that surrounded the area.

"Wow…now this is gorgeous." I muttered, as I walked down the stairs that led me into the canyon itself

But as I made my way down towards the final steps, I heard a small whisper, belonging to that of a little girl "The Eleventh…" A voice whispered

"What the-!?" I shouted, jumping and turning around as fast as I could behind me, but just like before, thee was nothing there. "The sooner I form this stupid linkage, the sooner I leave. God, this place is creeping me out!" I growled

I continued to travel down the final steps until I made onto the path, where the bottom of the trunk was visible. The whispers started up again, but this time, a figure suddenly sprung up in-front of me.

"What the fu-!?" I yelled out, jumping back a little

The figure let out some sort of giggle, as she leaned even closer to where I was. The figure itself seemed to be dressed in a dark blue cloak with accents of gold acting as decors. The cloak itself was covering the figures face, so I couldn't make out any defining features. The only thing however I could make out, was having a pair of two glowing red eyes, similar to the jewel in the gauntlet

"Uh…who are you?" I asked

I mean, that's the appropriate question, right?

"…" But the figure didn't respond. Until only a few seconds later, the strange figure giggle again before running towards the tree

"What the-!? Hey, get back here!" I shouted out, as I ran after the figure. I continued to run after her, even she grasped the trees trunk and ran around it. Anticipating her next move, I ran in the opposite direction of the tree's trunk…only to see that she wasn't even there.

"Uh…what?" I questioned, as I walked around the tree trunk. I could only guess that the figure was moving along the tree trunk as I moved. I occasionally looked behind me to see, if the figure was sneaking up behind me. "If this is some kind of joke you're trying to pull, I don't get it."

"Hehehe…" Hearing the giggles again, I turned my head to the source of the sound. To my surprise, there wasn't just one figure, but there were a total of TEN different figures sitting on the branches of the tree! Just like the other figure I've seen, they all wore dark blue robes with golden decor. The only figure I could make out however, was a female based on her uh…shape. What? I'm not starring…not that much anyway. Anyways, I could also tell that she was a Faunus based on the pair of ox-like horns pretruing from her hood.

"Are these friends of yours?" I asked

The ten figures looked towards one another, before turning backs towards me

"I'm guessing that silence is a common thing here." I said

Suddenly, the figure with horns got up from one of the many branches and jumped down from the tree. She was so large (not fat-kind of large) that she literally shook the ground on impact! And it doesn't help when she stood up to reveal her full size! She was probably twice the size as me! I was literally on edge at that point!

"Uh…hi…?" I said in a small voice

"…" The Faunus- figure's response was to kneel down to meet my size and held her hand out.

Was she trying to shake my hand? Or is she passing something to me?

"Uh…okay?" I said, confused as I extended my arm and took her hand.

But as I made contact, the Faunus-figure disappeared from sight. In literally a blink of an eye, she was gone. Surprised, I quickly looked up towards the branches of the tree to see that the other nine figures were gone as well. Like, where the hell did they go!? Is something going to happen? If so, then what is it?

.

.

Well…that was probably the biggest waste of time of my entire li-

*SNORT* Suddenly, my train of thought was cut off by the sound of what I could tell was snorting, similar to a horse, but even deeper. Every time it exhaled, it created a current of warm air that brushed against the back of my neck. I immediately froze in place, knowing that whatever it was that was behind me, it wasn't human. I slowly turned around to see what exactly it was…only for my heart to sink all the way down to my feet at the sight of a massive shape.

The massive shape was the silhouette of a very large creature that looked like it was made of of blue embers. Even without the details, I could see that the creature had an elongated snout and its mouth was full of razor shape teeth. On top of its head was what appeared to be a crown of jagged horns. It had a long, serpentine-like neck that travelled down to it's muscular body with a stream of jagged back-spikes that travelled down all the way to its tail which ended in a curved blade. It walked on all fours like a cat, with ankle and shoulder crests. And then finally, it had a pair of massive wings that looked like it could blanket four people at once! The mere sight of the massive figure only screamed one name.

"D-Dragon." I muttered out

The massive dragon stood up on it's two hind legs, revealing its true height! In all honesty, I would've marvelled the size of that thing…if I wasn't so close to it! The massive figure went back on all fours and started to walk, it's very steps shaking the ground I was standing on. The dragon slowly turned its head towards its left and started to circle around me, almost as if it was inspecting me. The only thing I could do was stand still and keep my head down, as its tail waved up and down until it left the corner of my eye. I haven't felt this scared or even nervous since I was face-to-face with a Beowolf!

But after several minutes, I saw that the dragon stopped circling me, faced my direction and sat down. I slowly lifted my head up to meet the dragon's eye, it was almost as if the dragon itself was waiting for me.

"W-Who are you…what are you?" I asked "Are you the thing in the gauntlet?"

"…" The dragon nodded in response.

"Well…I have some questions for you." I said, trying not to sound afraid or nervous "Why did you bring me back from the dead?"

"…" The dragon remained silent

"Can…you speak?" I asked

"…" The dragon shook its head left to right

"Okay…so your only form of response are going to involve nods and other movements?" I asked

"…" The dragon nodded

"O-Okay then." I said regaining my composure "My name is Christian, and I would like to form a link."

"…" The dragon lifted one of its claws towards me

"Is this it? The linkage?" I asked

"…" The dragon shook its head

"But, I'm allowed to use some of your powers, right?" I asked "Just like what I did in the forest? But even better?"

"…" The dragon nodded

"You know…I'm not really a man of patience. But just this once, I think it can wait." I said, as I shook the dragon's claw. As I shook the dragon's claw, another bright light consumed my vision….

Beacon Academy, Beacon Tower Beacon | September 1st, 20XX | 4:35 AM | (3rd Person POV)

It had nearly been over ten minutes since the boy had passed out, and Ozpin was sent the other professors off to perform their duties as today was the first day of school. As Ozpin mentioned before, he had never seen the linkage between a Sacred Arm and its user in person, meaning all of this was new to him. It was also unknown to him how long the linking process is, meaning it could takes hours, days, probably even weeks before one is established. But he could do at the moment, is wait to see what happens.

"Ugh…" Christian muttered as his eyes fluttered open

"Ah, I see that you're awake now." Ozpin said

Christian looked around Ozpin's office, only to see that the other professors were no where to be found. "Where is everyone and how long was I out for?" He asked, as he slowly got off of the ground.

"I've sent everyone to get ready for the first day." Ozpin said "And you've been out for almost ten minutes. How do you feel?"

As Christian stood up, he stared towards his right arm, where his gauntlet still was. "I feel…somewhat different."

"What do you mean by different?" Ozpin asked

"I don't know. I can't really describe it. All I can really say that something feels a little off." Christian tried to explain

"Good or bad?" Ozpin asked

"Well, I'm not in any pain. So I think that's good." Christian said, as he turn and twisted his arm.

"I see…" Ozpin pondered "Tell me, what did you see when you fell unconscious."

"Let's see…I was in some sort of small canyon, that was mostly surrounded by clear water and blue petals. And there was a massive tree with the same colour as the petals." Christian explained "But…I wasn't alone."

"Pardon?" Ozpin asked, interested

"Yeah, there were ten people waiting for me on the branches of the tree. They were all dressed in some kind of robe, but I couldn't make any details out except they had glowing red eyes."

"Were you able to establish between you and the being that was in the gauntlet?" Ozpin asked

"No. But it looks like I'm able to use some of its powers." Christian said "I'm not sure why though."

"…Well now, that is quite a fascinating discovery." Ozpin said

"Wait, you mean you don't know what I saw?" Christian asked with one of his eyebrows raised

"Mr. Pendragon, while my knowledge of the world of Remnant is vast, my knowledge of these Sacred Arms are quite…limited." Ozpin said

"Meaning?" Christian asked

"I only know what I saw from my previous pupils." Ozpin said

"Oh okay." Christian said "Wait…you mean, that you've taught other Sacred Arm users before?"

"Yes, a very long time ago." Ozpin said "One of them even had one similar to yours."

"Who was it?" Christian asked

"That is another story for another time. For now, it's time we get onto the main event." Ozpin said

"Maine event?" Christian asked

Ozpin's response was to propel himself off of the ground with his cane. "Your training of course." He said, spinning his cane in his hands

"So…do you have an arena, or training dummies or something?" Christian asked

"We do have an arena and a holographic training simulator, yes. Though today, we won't be using them as they can't hit you back." Ozpin said

"Then…what will I be using?" Christian asked

"Instead, I'll be your opponent." Ozpin said

Christian heart dropped "I-I'm sorry…I don't think I heard you correctly. I thought I heard you say that you were going to be my opponent."

"No, you heard me right." Ozpin said "You are my pupil after all, so it is my job to get you into fighting shape. We only have one year after all."

"Oh, ha, ha, ha, I didn't know that you had a sense of humour, Ozpin." Christian said, trying to reassure himself

"I do. But I'm not joking." Ozpin said

.

.

.

.

"Don't you think that you're going overboard!? Christian shouted "I can't even swing a sword properly!"

"And we intend on changing that very quickly. Though for now, how about you show me how you are in hand to hand. You did say that you know how to throw a proper punch, correct?"

"Yeah, I did." Christian said

"Show me." Ozpin said, holding one of his palms up

"So…I just punch right there? Christian asked, earning a nod from the Headmaster "Alright….here goes!" Christian proclaimed, but as he swung his fist, Ozpin suddenly vanished in a blink of an eye, causing him to stumble forwards "What th-!? Where did you go!?"

"Your form needs some work." Ozpin said, causing Christian to whip his head to see the Headmaster behind him. "Not to mention your physical strength."

"How did you-!? When did you-!? WHAT!?" Christian shouted

"So, are we just going to stand around all day, or are we going to fight?" Ozpin asked, prompting Christian to get in some kind of fighting pose "Lower."

"What?" Christian asked

"You need to be lower to the ground." Ozpin said

"Oh, okay. So you mean like thi-!" Christian began

*CRACK* But before Christian could finish, Ozpin punched him in the face, cracking his nose and making him stumble back

"OW! What the hell!?" Christian shouted, holding his nose

"Next lesson, Mr. Pendragon, always be on your guard." Ozpin said

"Couldn't you've warned me when we were going to actually to start!?" Christian shouted

"Your opponent won't give you any time to recover or will just let you prepare. If this were a real fight for your life, you'd lose." Ozpin said as he closed the distance between him and Christian. But as Ozpin sent another punch, Christian was able to dodge the oncoming attack by jumping backwards.

Quickly recovering, Christian rushed forwards and reeled back his right arm to land an attack on the Headmaster. However, Ozpin was able to dodge his attacks with ease, As Christian tried to deliver another punch, he was surprised that the gauntlet on his arm wasn't weighing him down. But as he snapped back to reality, Ozpin swept him from under the legs, causing him to fall to the ground with a loud thud.

"Ow…" Christian wheezed. But before he could get off of the ground, h saw that Ozpin was in the air with his cane over his head "SHIT!" He shouted, as he rolled out of the way before the cane made contact with his head and got back up.

"I will admit that you're a fast leaner. I'll give you that. Though allow me to show you how it's done." Ozpin said with a smirk on his face.

In the blink of an eye, Ozpin closed the gap between him and Christian in an instant once more. He threw another punch after punch, despite the boy managing to dodge a few of them. Christian saw an opening and threw a left cross, only for Ozpin to dodge it effortlessly. But before Christian could react, Ozpin delivered a swift kick to the cheek, making the boy slide across the floor.

"But despite that, you still have a long way to go." Ozpin said

"…I kind of figured out that part by now…" Christian groaned as he got up, his gauntlet disappearing on his arm. "And it seemed like you were enjoying it…"

Just as Christian got up from where he was, the doors to Professor Ozpin's office slammed open, revealing Professor's Port and Oobleck with backpacks strapped to their backs. Meanwhile, Oobleck was dressed in a dark green trench-coat with a matching safari hat.

"Oh ho! We're ready to depart Professor Ozpin!" Port said

"Yes, we have the Bullhead all packed and ready for lift off!" Oobleck said

"Ah, I see that the next part of your training is about to begin." Ozpin said

"…What?" Christian asked

"You may need to resummon your gauntlet." Ozpin suggested

"…What?" Christian repeated

"Come now Mr. Pendragon! It's time to go out into the field! No better lesson than a hands on one!" Port said

"…I know I already said this twice…but what?" Christian asked

"Ah, yes, I forgot to tell you. You'll be going out into the Emerald Forest for a couple of days to get a general idea on one of the enemies you'll be trained to fight." Ozpin said

.

.

"I'm sorry wh-?!" Christian tried to say, only for Oobleck to put a safari hat onto his head.

"Come now Mr. Pendragon! We are already four minutes behind schedule!" Oobleck said, pulling Christian by his collar

"Wait a second! Wait a damn second!" Christian yelled as Oobleck continued to pull him to the elevator

"Hmm, I never expected to train yet another one. What a strange turn of events." Ozpin said.

Emerald Forest | September 1st, 20XX | 5:00 AM | (My POV)

I knew it! I completely fucking called it! Ozpin is trying to kill me! I mean, first of all he literally just mopped the floor with my ass! Then again, I can't really complain about that part too much, who knows how many years of experience he has compared to mine. Getting back on track, if that wasn't enough, Ozpin thought it would be a terrific idea to spend a few days in the Emerald Forest, the very same place where I almost died…again! I mean, what can go wrong and knowing my luck, a lot can go wrong.

Then again…I could probably use this opportunity to find out where that temple is during the initiation. What? It's technically not cheating as I'm literally just studying the terrain and that is crucial when it comes to hunting…I think.

Though before I could continue my thoughts, Doctor Oobleck brought me out of my thoughts. "Now! Mr. Pendragon! I'd like to ask you a few questions before we go and set up camp!" He yelled over the Bullhead's engine

"What is it!?" I yelled over the Bullhead's engine

"Now, how did you exactly first found out that you possessed a Sacred Arm!? It's not everyday you find out you possess one of the most powerful relics in all of Remnant!" oobleck yelled over the Bullhead's engine

Uh…what do I exactly say? Let's see…

.

.

.

Okay, I think I got it.

"I'm not sure how I did it, but it just appeared on my arm during a stressful time from what I heard from my aunt and uncle." I said "It was actually the day after I lost my mother."

"…Oh…I see. My apologies…I probably shouldn't have asked that." Oobleck apologized

"It's alright." I reassured "It's not like anyone could've done anything about it and it seemed like I didn't have that much of an option to begin with."

"I see…" Oobleck said "Now, onto the net question. How experienced are you when it comes to handling Grimm?"

"Does accidentally killing one count?" I asked

"I see. Well not to worry Mr. Pendragon. We shall give you all the knowledge necessary in order to defeat the many creatures of Grimm that roam our lands!" Oobleck claimed

Yeah…I'm dead.

However, before I coul continue my thoughts, Professor Port got up and opened the Bullhead's door. Wind began to rush into the aircraft due to the sheer force of the aircrafts turbines.

"It appears that we have arrived at our destination. Are you ready lad!?" Port shouted through the Bullhead's engine

"As ready as I'll ever be!" I yelled

"Then let us go forth into danger! Ha ha!" Port laughed as he jumped out of the Bullhead

"Well, not time to waste Mr. Pendragon! Let us begin!" Oobleck yelled as he grabbed me by the back of my collar

"Wait a minute! Wait a minute!" I yelled out. But it was no use, he had already jumped out of the Bullhead, keeping his grip on my collar tight and pull me out

"Onwards and upwards!" Port yelled

After several second, we all landed on the grass of the Emerald Forest.

"Oh ho! The smell of that fresh forest air." Port said with a smile on his face

"Yes, it has been a while since we've been out on the field! Even if it's just for training purposes!" Oobleck said "How about you, Mr. Pendragon? How do you feel?"

"…Give me…a minute…or five…" I said as I laid on the ground

"Yes, it is always quite the rush of adrenaline for people who are inexperienced in the field." Port said

"You literally dragged me out of a Bullhead mid-air…that is putting it every lightly." I said

"Now, Mr. Pendragon. While you may have a Sacred Arm residing in your body, from this moment onwards, your first hunt has officially begun!" Oobleck said

"Yes, it's time for you get some hands on experience!" Port said

"Now it is imperative that you need to do exactly as what Port and I say of you have any hopes of keeping your life! Are we clear?" Oobleck asked

"Crystal." I said

"Excellent!" Oobleck shouted

"Well, I believe we should set up camp. Professor, why don't you set up camp while I take the dear lad out into the field?" Port suggested

"Doctor." Oobleck corrected "And very well. Though, do sure to make it back by sundown."

"Not to worry, dear Doctor." Port reassured. "Come now, Mr. Pendragon. It's time you learn the ways of the wild

"R-Right." I said, still trying to catch my breath as I got up from the ground and followed the professor.

After what appeared to be several minutes of walking, the sounds of various branches and twigs snapping under our weight, Port eventually spoke up, "So, tell me, Mr. Pendragon. How does it feel to be out in the field of combat."

"Well, technically I haven't truly fought anything yet." I said "And the Beowolf I killed was technically on accident, so I can't really say anything just yet."

"Hmm…" Professor Port pondered, before suddenly stopping. "Well form the looks of it, that may be going to change soon."

"Wait, what!?" I yelled, whipping my head around the forest to see the Grimm that Port was referring too.

"AH, not to worry young lad. There aren't any Grimm in the area…yet." Port clarified

"Wait, yet!?" I shouted

"If you keep on shouting like that, then yes." Port said "But, let this be your first less in the field, tracking." Port explained, pointing towards the ground

As I looked where Port was pointing, I just then realized that I stepped in a huge paw print, along with a good number of even smaller footprints. But these ones look like they came from boots than a Grimm. And unless the Grimm have decided to wear clothes, then I don't even want to imagine their dry cleaning bills.

"The first step in tracking is to analyze your surroundings. Tell me, what do you see, Mr. Pendragon?" Port asked

"Uh…footprints?" I said

"I mean besides the things' I've already pointed out to you." Port said

"Uh…" I pondered, looking around the forest for anything out of the ordinary. The only thing that I could see out of the ordinary was that one of the trees had claw marks carved about three inches into the bark "Claw marks…? Other than that, nothing."

"I see. Well that is to be expected from someone first going out into the field." Port said

"So, what am I exactly looking for out here?" I asked "A Grimm enjoying a picnic out here or something?"

"If you want to put it like that, then yes." Port said

"What?" I said, confused

"You see, Mr. Pendragon. Tracking is more than just examining your surroundings or following footprints. it's also about visualizing them." Port said

"…I don't follow." i said

"Then allow me to show you." Port said as he turned towards the clawed tree. "As you already saw, there are claw marks in this tree. meaning that there was a struggle of some sort. And if I had to judge by the footprints, there was indeed a hunter of some sort in the Emerald Forest."

"Really?" I asked "Just by looking around?"

"Yes, judging by these strange markings in the trees and rocks, I would have to judge that there was a bit of conflict involving gunfire, and knowing that I'm sure that it would have drawn the attention of some Grimm." Port said "Not only that, but by judging by the patterns in the dirt, I'd say that this was a more recent battle

"Wait, are you telling me that-?" I began

"It means that we now have a rescue mission on our hands." Port said, cutting me off as he ran deeper into the forest with his weapon drawn "Ha ha!"

.

.

"…Wait, what? Hold up!" I yelled out, running after the veteran Huntsman

We ran throughout the Emerald Forest, jumping over exposed roots from tree, rocks, and other kinds of uneven terrain. But as we ran closer, we began to hear the distant sound of gunfire in the distance. I was mostly trying to keep up with Port, who seemed like he knows where he was going. But despite how uh…"wide", he is, he's surprisingly quick on his feet!

"We're almost there young lad!" Port yelled

"Can you slow down a bit!?" I yelled

"No can do!" Port yelled back "This is a battle for one's very life and from the looks of it, the hunter that's fighting the Grimm is on the loosing side!"

After several more seconds of running, we eventually came by to a small cliffside and sure enough, there was a small pack of Beowolves surrounding a lone Huntress at the edge of the cliffs. And from the looks of it, based on how she's constantly holding her side with blood all over her, she was heavily wounded.

"Damnit!" The Huntress growled

"Mr, Pendragon! I want you to go and make sure that the woman makes it back to came safely!" Port ordered

"On it!" I yelled

Port charge into battle with his weapon held over his head. "How about you chew on something more tough!" He yelled as he threw his axe at the back of one of Beowolves' heads, splitting it open.

The remaining Beowolves turned towards the charging veteran Huntsman, who recovers his axe from the Grimm's ashes. "Come at me foul beast! I'll give you a fight that you will never forget" Port yelled out as he grabbed the handle of his axe an fire repated blasts of bullets towards the small horde of Grimm, who howled in pain.

"W-What the-!" The Huntress tried to say, still holding her side

"Hey!" I yelled, catching her attention "Are you just gonna stand there, or do you want to get out of here?" I yelled, holding my hand out

"Who are-?" The Huntress began

I cut her off again. "We can do names later! Get your ass up already and let's go!"

Can't really blame a lack of patience, can you?

The Hntress appeared to be a bit shocked at my reaction. But eventually, she nodded and reached her arms towards my direction "R-Right." She said, as I grabbed her arm, threw it over my shoulder and picked her up

"Port! Let's go!" I yelled

"That's professor to you, young lad! An why would I turn and run when there is glory to be found at this very moment!?" Port yelled as he swung his weapon at one of the Grimm's heads, chopping it off. "Ah ha!" Is that all you got you foul beast!?"

"Shouldn't we help him?" The Huntress asked

"AH HA!" But before I could respond, I could hear Port laughing loudly from behind us

"Yeah…I'm gonna say no. It looks like he's enjoying himself." I said

The Huntress looked slightly concerned. But after looking backwards a second time, she nodded and used her remaining strength to run across the forest, with me acting as some sort of human cane for her. Eventually, we have managed to make our way back to where Port found the paw prints by retracing our footsteps. An I guess that crash course for tracking from Port really did come in handy. Knowing me, I would've ben wandering the Emerald Forest aimlessly if it wasn't for it. But after several minutes of more running, jumping, and even stumbling, we made our way back to the campsite, which had now been set up.

"Hey, Oobleck!" I shouted

Suddenly, Professor Oobleck zoomed out of one of the many tents "That's Doctor Oo-!" Oobleck tried to correct, but immediately held his tongue at the sight of the beaten, bruised, and bleeding Huntress I was carrying over my shoulder "My word!"

The Huntresses suddenly got heavier and applied more pressure to the right side of my body. I turned over to see that the Huntress had lost consciousness

"Shit! You better not die after all of that!" I yelled out

"Bring her over here!" Oobleck yelled "I'll start treating her immediately! Where's P-!?" Oobleck began, only for Port to walk past the tree line into view with two wild dead boars under his arms

"Oh ho! Now that was quite the hunt! Well, I got us breakfast for the morning. How's the Huntress we found?" Port asked

"Working on it!" I yelled out, dragging the injured Huntress into the tent.

I whipped around the tent, lifting various sleeping bags until I found a first-air kit. But just I was about to open…I remembered that I have no idea what to do this this kind of situation! Sure, I know a little, but the only life saving tactic I know fully is CPR! With no other options, I first took out the alcohol to disinfect the Huntresses wounds. But as the alcohol made contact, I could hear the Huntress let out a small groan in pain.

"Sorry…" I muttered

After putting away the alcohol, I took out the bandaged and cloths and applied them to one of her wounds. First, I applied pressure to one of her wounds by pressing the cloth against it, before wrapping it up in bandages. But just as I was about to do the same process with the rest of her wounds, her body suddenly glowed white and her wounds started to close on their own. Her aura had kicked in just in the nick of time. Though, that really didn't help with all of that blood on my hands.

Emerald Forest | September 1st, 20XX | 6:30 AM | (3rd Person POV)

Shortly after Christian's and Professor Port's departure into the Emerald Forest, Professor Oobleck had sent his time setting up a small campsite, consisting of three tents, one for each of the Hunters and a pupil, along with a small campfire in the middle of it all. Out in the Emerald Forest, you'd expect to see a vast number of Grimm that roam its very grounds, so you could only imagine Oobleck's shock as he saw Ozpin's pupil carrying a wounded Huntress back to camp. Meanwhile Christian was trying to keep the Huntress from bleeding out, Port was explaining to Oobleck on what had occurred.

"I see…Well, it's a good thing you found her when you did. There's no telling what would have come of her if you hadn't shown up." Oobleck said "Though, we shouldn't celebrate just yet. That is most likely to be the first of many."

"Indeed." Port said "But…I couldn't bear to lose another one. Not again."

"Port, you and I have been over this. What happened to her during the training mission wasn't your fault." Oobleck reassured

"But it is! If only I had been quicker, if only I'd taught her more!" Port said

"Port, if Ozpin is willing to let you help teach another student, especially one that he personally took under his wing. Then that means he doesn't blame you. Let this be a way of redemption, old friend."

Just before Port could respond, one of the tents flaps move up as Christian pushed them out of the way and walked outside

"Ah, Mr. Pendragon! How's our patient?" Oobleck asked

"She's well. Her aura managed to kick in just in the nick of time." Christian said, wiping the blood off of his hands

Oobleck tuned back towards his colleague. "Now, why don't you watch over the young woman while I take Mr. Pendragon here for a stroll?"

.

.

"…Do you plan on taking him there?" Port asked

"Uh…taking me where?" Christian asked

"Not directly. Though, I do plan on giving him a little lesson on the place." Oobleck said

"Very well." Port said

"Mr. Pendragon!" Oobleck called out

"GAH! I'm right here you know!?" Christina yelled out, as he held his ears "No need to yell!"

"Come along now. There's something that I want to show you." Oobleck as he walked past the tree line

"Uh…okay?" Christian sad, as he followed Oobleck from behind

Emerald Forest | September 1st, 20XX | 7:00 AM | (My POV)

Shortly after patching up the Huntress I dragged back to camp, Oobleck wanted me to follow him to wherever he was going. I did overhear that Port apparently knows where Oobleck is taking me, but when I asked, I was immediately ignored. Still, wherever we're going, it has to at least be something serious or even crucial.

Eventually, Oobleck spoke up. "So, tell me, Mr. Pendragon. Where do you exactly originate from?"

Uh, what was it when I told Velvet…oh yeah!

"I come from an island that's just off of he border between Vacuo and Vale." I said

"Hmmm, interesting. So, why did you exactly leave your home to come to Beacon instead of pursuing a safer career?"

"Well…" I began

Okay Christian, remember what you told Velvet. I can't just bend the story out of the blue like this, otherwise they may point out inconsistencies and will find out that what I told them was a partially a lie. And remember, only tell them enough to satisfy their curiosity. Don't go in depth.

"Hmm?" Oobleck hummed

"I had to leave my home behind. Considering that the last time I saw, it became nothing more than a burning rock." I said

"…Oh, I see. Well, I'm sorry for your loss." Oobleck apologized

"It's alright. Besides, it's not like you could've done anything about it." I said

"Mr. Pendragon, I am a Huntsman. it is my sworn duty to make sure that citizens inside or outside of the kingdoms walls do not fall victim to the creatures of Grimm." Oobleck said

"But the thing is…it didn't fall to the Grimm." I said

Oobleck spun around. "What do you mean? Was it bandits? Or perhaps the White Fang?"

I shook my head. "Bandits were a more personal problem to me, but they weren't that much of a problem on the town. Neither was the White Fang, or even the Grimm themselves. It was because of our own neighbours."

"I see. So your town fell because of it's own people." Oobleck said

"Pretty much." I said

"…Tell me, Mr Pendragon. Why do you wish to become a Huntsman?" Oobleck asked

"Well, I didn't have any other place to go." I said "I just started wandering and hoped for the better."

"That may be true, but when I look at you, I see someone who is driven by a desire. It may be a single desire, but it is more than enough to push you beyond the limits you thought possible!" Oobleck said

"…Okay, I guess the other reason is…that I'm looking for someone." I said

"Who?" Oobleck asked

"I'm not entirely sure who." I lied "Though when my mom passed away and when the gauntlet suddenly appeared on my arm, I didn't know what to do. As for the lone Huntsman who protected our town, he gave me his blessing with the hopes that I'd carry out his dying wish. He even told me that I should go to Beacon, to prepare myself to face this person. So, I guess that is what is pushing me forward, a promise."

"I see…" Oobleck trailed off "Then, if you do suppose to find this person, what do you plan to do next?"

"And that's the thing…I don't know what do next." I admitted "Maybe I'll find another purpose or another reason to live while I'm here someday."

"I see…" Oobleck trailed off "So you're also looking for a purpose."

Though, before we could continue our conversation, we walked out of another tree-line, arriving at some sort of cliffside, giving us more of a view of the Emerald forest. At least, that is what I see from where I was standing that is.

"Ah, I see that we've arrived!" Oobleck said

"So, what was it that you wanted to sho-WHOA!?" I shouted at the view. From where I was previously standing, all I could see were even more trees. But in the distance, it appeared that there were ruined buildings in the distance.

"Are those…buildings?" I muttered

*PAWOO* Though, before I could ask him properly, the sound of a rather large trumpet could be heard in the distance. I turned towards the source of the noise to see a species of Grimm that resemble elephants

"What the-!?" I yelled out

But before I did something I would probably regret, Oobleck placed his hand in front of my direction. "Fret not, Mr. Pendragon. Those Goliath's are not concerned with us."

"But what if they decide to attack?" I asked

"Mr. Pendragon, not every Grimm is mindless. Rather not, that every Grimm is still mindless. You see, the Grimm you see before you are so powerful, so superior to the Grimm you've encountered, you fought, that they've undoubtedly lived for hundreds of years." oobleck said

"Wow, I had no idea that they could live for so long." I said

"Indeed, and in their lifetime between killing us and attacking our borders, they've done one thing. They've learned." Oobleck said "They've learned that when they attack our borders, their chances of death are significantly increased, and for what we lack in strength, we make up for it in will, and that killing one human will only bring more."

"Self preservation." I said

"Exactly." Oobleck said

"But then why are they so close to the ruined city?" I asked

"They're waiting." Oobleck said

"Waiting for what?" I asked "And where did you exactly bring me?"

"That right there, is the largest grave in all of Remnant. Mountain Glenn." Oobleck said

.

"Oh…" I said as my heart sank

"So you've heard of it?" Oobleck asked

"Not much, I've only heard rumours and seen photos of this place." I said

"Well, it was supposed to be an expansion on the city of Vale. Though due to some…unfortunate circumstances, it was eventually sealed off from the rest of the world." Oobleck said

"Okay…but why did you bring me out here?" I asked

"Mr. Pendragon, I want you to take a look at the ruins and tell me what you see." Oobleck said

I narrowed my eyes towards the ruined city, trying to get a better glimpse. Unfortunately, it didn't help that the buildings also reminded me of Earth. "It's kind of hard to tell from far away…but…I do see a lot of torn buildings."

"I see lives that could have been saved." Oobleck said as he started to walk away from the cliff side "As a Huntsmen it is my job to protect the people, and although I am capable of doing it with traditional weaponry, I believe I can have a much larger impact by doing it with my mind. As a teacher I can take knowledge, the most powerful tool of them all and place it in the hands of every student that passes in my classroom. I look at that wasteland and I see lives that could have been saved, but I also see an opportunity, an opportunity to study these ruins and learn from this tragedy, and therefore become stronger."

.

.

"So that way history doesn't repeat itself...right?" I asked

Oobleck nodded "Well, it looks like the sun is going down. We might as well head on back to the camp grounds. With any luck the woman that you and Port had found will have recovered." He said as we walked back through the tree-line

"Right." I said, following the doctor.

Emerald Forest, Campsite | September 1st, 20XX | 8:00 AM | (3rd Person POV)

After Christian and Oobleck's departure, Port gathered some nearby firewood to feed the fire that was currently cooking the wild boars. The wounded Huntress woke up after an hour and was currently sitting on log with bandages wrapped around her arms, legs, and abdomen. But before the two hunters could continue what they were doing, a sudden snap caught both of their attention. But before Port could grab his weapon, Professor Oobleck and Christian walked past the tree-line and into sight.

"Oh ho! So the good doctor and the young lad returns! Welcome! I had just finished cooking up breakfast." Port said, gesturing to the cooked pork

"Excellent!" Oobleck said, zooming over to the campgrounds in the blink of an eye

Christian walked back to the campsite, following Oobleck as Port was getting dinner ready. As Port was skewering the pork with the sticks he had sharpened, Christian looked towards the wounded Huntress. But ever since Christian's conversation with Oobleck, he couldn't help but think about what he had said: Then, if you do suppose to find this person, what do you plan to do next?

Ever since he had arrived in this world, he had many questions regarding of how he got there. He knows what he's going to do before the Fall, but what was he going to do afterwards? He thought that asking another hunter would help him answer that question

"I see that you're awake." Christian said, as he sat down on one of the many logs

"Yeah, I took quite the beating back there." The Huntress said

"That's putting it very lightly." Christian said "So, what were you doing out in the middle of the Emerald Forest alone?"

"Yes, if you're a Huntress, then you should know that the Emerald Forest has been crawling with Grimm for generations now." Oobleck said

"Well, I wasn't really trying to go as deep into the forest as I did." The Huntress said "I was just hunting a massive Ursa for a client and I supposed that I got a little lost."

"Yes, well, the Emerald Forest has been known for how vast it it." Oobleck said, handing out the pieces of pork

"Indeed." Port said

"Speaking of, I never thanked the two of you before. I'm glad you came when you did, I would've been a goner for sure." The Huntress said

"All in the days work of being a Huntsman, my dear!" port said with a bow

"Uh…yeah, what he said It was no big deal." Christian said, biting into a piece of pork

The Huntress turned towards the boy "Hmm, you look rather young to be out here in the field."

"Well, Ozpin has decided to take him in as his own personal pupil due to some…special circumstances." Port said

"Heh, well, aren't you a lucky kid." The Huntress said, slapping th kid across the back

"Urp!" But in doing so, the pork that Christian was chewing became lodged in his throat, causing him to choke. Using his left hand, Christian ponded his chest several times, managing to swallow the piece of pork he was eating. After taking a deep sigh, he turned towards the Huntress with a deadpanned expression "I saved your life and this is how you repay me?"

"Heh, sorry kid." The Huntress apologized

"Anyways, why are you exactly all the way out here?" Christian asked

"Did I just-?" The Huntress began

Christian cut her off "Sorry. I mean't to say what drives you to put yourself in harms way? What keeps you going?"

"Why do you want to know?" The Huntress asked

"I'm just curious." Christian said "Well, that and I'm trying to find my own purpose."

"Well…" The Huntress began, reaching into her back pocket and pulled out a photo. The photo was of her, along with a woman by her side, holding a child that was no older than five. "I'm doing it for this little one right here."

"Ah, so you're a mother." Port said

"She's not actually mine. It was a decision my wife and I agreed to." The Huntress said

"That so…wait, wife?" Christian asked

"You have your preferences and I have mine." The Huntress said

"I wasn't judging." Christian defended "I just thought she was your sister or something."

"So, you assumed?" The Huntress asked

"Pretty much." Christian said, stretching his arms in the air as he got up "Well, nature calls. I'll be right back."

However, as the boy got up, the Huntress took notice of the boy's weapon on his arm "Hmm?" She hummed

"Is something wrong?" Christian asked

"That's a strange looking gauntlet you have there." The Huntress said

"Oh you have no idea, lady." Christian said, as he stared at his gauntlet, walking off into the forest

Emerald Forest | September 1st, 20XX | 8:15AM | (My POV)

Shortly after doing my business, I thought that this would be a good opportunity to be alone with nothing but my thoughts. More specifically, I began to think about what happened after my conscious was shoved into the gauntlet. I mean, who or what were those guys? Are they apart of some sort of cult? Because, they were definitely wearing some kind of robes. But when I shook that ox-Faunus' hand, it felt weird…but familiar at the same time.

Then, there's what Ozpin had told me before, something about how my emotions link to the gauntlet. And the more powerful those feelings are, the more powerful my Sacred Arm will become. So, all I have to do is be angry? Or do I have to be in the heat of the moment?

.

.

Not that kind of moment!

But what I do know is that the figures I saw, were defiantly sentient. Not only that, what I experienced could mean that this power I have may have some magical properties to it. So, I may as well try to ask them what kind of power is in-store.

I let out a small sigh as I looked towards the gauntlet on my arm. "So, uh, whoever is in this thing. I know you can't really speak, but I was wondering if you can give me a crash course on how to use this power?"

.

.

"Is…that a maybe?" I asked

.

.

Hang on, tis this power really is magic in nature, then does that mean that I need to do specific hand gestures or say incantations like some kind of sorcerer? I guess there's only one way to find out.

I took in a deep breath, as I positioned myself for what was going to happen. I planted both of my legs onto the ground as I close my eyes and began to focus. I didn't have my phone with me as Ozpin told me to leave it behind last minute, so I couldn't use it to shut everything out as I did before. So, I did my best to shut every noise out, from the leaves blowing, to the birds chirping. I reeled my right fist back with the gauntlet on my right arm. Then, when I felt that I was ready, I shot my right hand out.

"GO POWER GO!" I shouted, thrusting my right arm out with an closed palm.

.

.

Okay…so that didn't work. Let try another one.

"Fly!" I yelled out with an open palm

And that didn't work either. Maybe I need to do other hand gestures? Maybe another word?"

"Go!" I yelled out, with my thumb out

"Come out!" I shouted, with a triple-daredevil hand gesture

But after doing this for several minutes, performing as many hand gestures as I could think of, I was starting to get angry.

"Come on you stupid piece of junk!" I yelled out, smacking the gem in the middle. "How the hell am I suppose to use this 'great power' of your if you're just going to give me the silent treatment!? I know I said that I was willing to wait, but I only have one year!"

*SNORT* Though, before I could continue my attempt to communicate with the gauntlet, the sound of a deep snarl could be heard from behind me.

"…Uh." I slowly muttered to myself, as I turned around to see a very big Ursa with large back spines standing behind me. "Uh…hi?" I called out

*RRROOOOOOOOOOOOAR* The massive Ursa bellowed out a massive roar as it swung one of it's massive claws towards me. But before its attack made contact, I quickly jumped backwards.

"Look, pal, if you need a breath mint, you just had to ask!" I shouted

Not sure what I was trying to accomplish with that quip, but hey, it's what I do.

The Ursa roared once more, as it got on all fours and charged towards me. It lunged with it's clawed-paws forward, but just as before I quickly dove out of the way of the oncoming attack

"Okay, power or no power, I guess I'm fighting this thing now." I said, as I brought my gauntlet up, and the blade popping out from the knuckles

The massive Ursa Major roared once more as it got back down on all fours and charged towards my direction. It shook the ground with every step and it's burning red eyes were drilling deep into my soul

It's okay Christian, you can do this. You managed to kill a Beowolf before and have a weapon, whose power comes from a Goddamn dragon…it's just you don't even know how to use it!

"Then again, there could be even worse odds." I muttered to myself, as I dodged another slash from the Ursa. However, this slash actually came close to shredding through my grey undershirt. And I just had it tailored too!

"Hey! Lay off the threads, Winnie!" I shouted, as I swung my blade at one of the Ursa's arms, making it roar out in agony "Yeah, did you like that!? Come on bug guy, take your best shot!"

Though as soon as I said that, the Ursa swung one of its massive claws towards my chest, sending me flying towards the tree with a loud thud

"Probably shouldn't have said that…" I muttered. But as I got up, I noticed that the jewel in my gauntlet was glowing. But as sson as it appeared, the glow quickly disappeared. But as the glow dissipated, I could feel something strange flow throughout the inside of my body. Whatever it was, I could feel it spreading out to every muscle, every bone, every organ in my body. "What the hell was th-!?"

*ROOOOOOOAR!* But before I could question what the guantlet was doing. The Ursa charged towards my direction once more, it's eyes were glowing a violent red colour. The Ursa Major brought one of its claws back up once more, though as before, I was able to dodge the attack and slash it across the face with my blade. The Grimm stumbled back as it held it's face in pain. Using that opening, I ran towards the Grimm and slashed behind its ankles, making it collapse to the ground.

But before I got ready for another attack, the gauntlet's jewel flashed with crimson light once more. But just as before, it vanished as quickly as it appeared. And just as before, that strange feeling came back…but it was a little stronger than it was before.

"Okay, seriously…what the hell are you d-!?" I began. However, just before I finished, the Ursa Major roared and struck me with one of its claws, sending me head first to an underpass of a cliff "Okay…ow…that one hurt…" I groaned as I rubbed my head

The Ursa charged once more, running on all fours as it went to snap its jaws. But just as before, I was able to dodge the attack by diving and rolling out of the way. And in return, I recovered and jabbed my blade into one of the Ursa Major's eyes, making it roared out even more in pain. But it wasn't enough to kill it.

As I got back to my feet, the jewel in the gauntlet glowed once more. But to my surprise, as it did, the blade suddenly retracted back into the the gauntlet, leaving me defenceless "What!? Oh, no, no, no, no, no! This is no time to start play peekaboo!" I shouted, trying to pry the blade back out

The Ursa Major took this opportunity to send me flying towards the underside of the cliff once more. But this time, I could feel something inside of me shatter as my aura dissipated. My aura was completely drained…after three hits from this thing!

"C-Come on! Damn it! Get out you stupid thing!" I groaned, still trying to pry the blade back out

Though as the Ursa charged once more, a feint blur shot out of the tree-line and struck the massive Grimm across the face, making it stumble backwards. As I got back to my feet, I saw that the blur was the woman that Port and I saved earlier

The Huntress clenched her side "Hah, hah, damn. Looks like my wounds haven't fully closed. But it looks like I made it in just the nick of time. Are you alright, kid?"

"Yeah, I am. Although, showing up few minutes ago wouldn't have been so bad either." I said

The Ursa Major quickly recovered and charged towards the Huntress with the intent to kill. Reaching to her side, the woman pulled out some sort of golden lasso and wrapped it around the arm of the Grimm and pulled it, severing the Grimm's wounded arm from its body. However, this seemed to make the Ursa Major even more angrier, as it swung its remaining arm towards the Huntress. She attempted to dodge the oncoming attack, but one of her legs gave in, presumably tired from the previous fight she was in.

"GAH!" The Huntress yelled out in pain, as she was sent flying back towards one of the many trees. But before the Ursa Major could deliver the final blow, without thinking, I rushed towards where the Huntress laid. I brought my right arm up in an attempt to shield her from the attack. As the Ursa brought down its remaining claw, I closed my eyes and waited for the final blow.

.

.

.

But, nothing happened.

"Huh…?" I muttered in a confused tone. I opened my eyes to see that the Ursa Majors attack did in-fact land, but somehow I was still standing! My right arm wasn't crushed, nor did it buckle in under the pressure of the Grimm's might. I was able to hold back the Grimm's attack easily!

I-I was never this strong before. Wait, was I?

How is this even possible!?

.

.

Wait…what if every time the jewel glows in the gauntlet, it offers a power boost to the users own physical abilities? I mean, that makes sense! And call me crazy…but what if the figures inside the gauntlet were watching me this whole time, that would explain why the blade retracted back in! They wanted me to learn how to use it on my own accord! Anyways, I guess there's only one way to find out to see what I've thought of it true…

Quickly shaking out of my trance, I pushed my right arm back up, making the Ura Major stumble backwards. Using that opportunity, I rushed towards the Grimm with my arm reeled back, my hand taking the form of a fist "From the shoulder beyond the wrist…LOOK OUT EVIL, IT'S MY FIST!" I shouted, as I struck the Ursa

But as my fist made contact with the Grimm, you could imagine my surprise when it's upper half was punched clean off! Only leaving the Ursa Major's lower half behind, which was quickly reduced to ash.

.

.

I stood there in silence, surprised at what I just did. I tried to bring my right arm back up, only to be met with excruciating pain from it "GAH!?" I yelled out.

I looked down towards my right arm, to see that it was heavily damaged. The entirety of my forearm was a dark purple colour, almost as if a massive bruise was forming and was covered in large cuts. And whenever I tired to move my arm, let along a finger, I was met with the same pain as before.

D-Did I just break my fucking arm!?

"Kid, are you…whoa!" The Huntress said in concern, but turned into a tone of awe

"Uh…what's with the-?" I began, but as I turned around, I was met with the sight of the silhouette of a winged creature behind me, it was the same silhouette as the dragon I saw before. But before I could question it how or why it came out, it disappeared from sight.

"…What just ha-?" I tired to say, but before I could finish, I heard a series of rushed footsteps coming from the forest itself. Though, before I could brace for what was to come, the source of footsteps revealed themselves to be Professors Port and Oobleck

"Is everyone alright?!" Ooblek yelled

"As soon as we heard the Grimm roar, we took off immediately" Port said

"Huh? Oh, yeah we're a little shaken. But we're fine." I said, before glancing towards my mangled right arm "Mostly that is…"

Professor Oobleck zoomed up to me "How did this happen!? Are you alright!?"

But before I could respond to his questions, the Huntress got up and walked towards me "You should've seen him. The kid manged to punch the upper half of an Ursa Major clean off!" She said as she punched my right arm

"MOTHERFU-!" I yelled, trying to catch my swear

"The Huntress cringed. "Oooo…sorry."

"Is this true?" Oobleck asked

I shrugged with my left shoulder "As true as it can get." I said, still surprised of what occurred

"I see…well, all's well that end's well." port said

"Speaking of which, miss. We had just called the school and a Bullhead should arrive within the hour to pick you up." Oobleck said the the Huntress

"Whew. That's good. Was getting real tired of walking anyways." The Huntress said in relief

Port turned towards me "Mr. Pendragon, you should also head back to Beacon."

"But what about the hunt?" I asked

"It will have to wait" Oobleck said "You won't be able to do anything if you have a broken arm. You should head down to the infirmary to be treated. I've already informed Professor Peach"

"Oh, alright" I said

"Anyways, let us get back to the camp. We should all use some rest." Port said. Then turned towards me "And get that arm treated" He said as he started to walk back to the camp

"Yeah, I'm ready to hit the sack." I said, walking towards the direction of the camp grounds.

Emerald Forest | September 1st, 20XX | 9:30 AM | (3rd Person POV)

The next hour came rather quickly. Profeessor's Port and Oobleck were currently waiting for the Bullhead to pick up the Huntress and the boy, while also keeping an eye out for any potential Grimm that wanted to make a snack out of them. The Huntress was sitting on a nearby rock, fiddling with her lasso. As for Christian, he was sitting on a nearby log and fiddling with a make shift cast. Shortly after getting his arm broken, Professor Oobleck had to make a makeshift cast from sticks, bark, and leftover bandages from the medkit.

Suddenly, the roar of a big engine filled the quiet sky of the Emerald Forest. The group of four turned towards where the source was coming from. Soon after, a small blur appeared in everyone's sight, eventually coming closer to see that it was a Bullhead that was closing in. Eventually, the Bullhead was able to find an open clearing for it too land.

"We wish you luck on any and all of your further adventures!" Oobleck said

"Yes, and remember, always stay vigilant." Port said

The Huntress chuckled "Heh, heh, you haven't changed a bit Professor Port."

"Please, you are a full fledged huntress now. Call me Peter." Port said.

"Whatever you say." The Huntress said. She then turned towards the boy "Oh, and thanks again kid. Sorry about your arm."

"It's alright." Christian reassured "At least now I can charge people fifteen lien if they want to hear how I broke my arm."

"You know, you're a weird kid" The Huntress said

"Yeah, well, what else is new?" Christian asked

"Mommy!" A child voice yelled out

The Huntress spun her head around, to see that her daughter and her wife were exiting the Bullhead, and were now running towards her. Despite the childs size, she was quick on her feet and ran towards the Huntress with blinding speeds

"Hey, my little pumpkin. I've missed you." The Huntress said, as she scooped up the child

Soon after, the woman eventually caught up with her child, and embraced the Huntress in a deep hug. The two face each other with smiles on their faces before pulling each other in a deep kiss.

"Get a room you two!" Christian shouted

"Huh?" The little girl said, tilting her head in confusion

"What the-!? Why you-!" The woman stumbled to say, her face a blushing mess

Professor's Port and Oobleck were laughing at the scene, as the woman tried to calm herself down. But while the scene unfolded, Christian began to ask more questions. What he did in the forest, was that the gauntlet's power? If it increased his physical abilities, then what else could it do? And more importantly, was the being inside the gauntlet watching over him this whole time? He wasn't sure how he managed to use its power, how it works, or even how he called upon them. But what he now knows that he can use it, it just a matter of how.

'Well, whatever happened last night needs some further investigation…and hopefully it doesn't end up with anymore broken limbs during my time here…' Christian thought to himself

Journal Entry #1 | September 1st, 20XX

So, let's bring ourselves up to speed. I got blown up in my world and was transported to another world in the form of Remnant through mysterious means. Find out that I'm the wielder of an ancient weapon called a "Sacred Arm", and formed a deal with Ozpin who has taken me under his wing.

And my first days out in the wild turned out to be very eventful. Not only did I save a Huntress from death twice, But I think I managed to use a portion of the gauntlet's power. Even though it ended up with me getting my right arm broken. And that actually sucks, considering I'm right handed and I'm miraculously wring this with my left hand!

But wth any luck, I'll find out exactly how I did used that power and try to use it again. But this time, no broken limbs…hopefully. Not only that , I managed to actually kill my first Grimm! An Ursa Major of all things! So, I guess this is a step in the right direction!

First State: It takes the shape blue gauntlet that covered the upper part of the users arm, while leaving the fingers and palm exposed. It has a large, red jewel that glistened traces of light and two golden spikes at the side.

Summary:

A Sacred Arm, among the Artifacts Of Nicodemus, the gauntlet is equipped with a pop-up wrist blade near the base of the knuckles that is capable of cutting through steel. Near the top of the knuckles is a small compartment for Dust crystals to be inserted, allowing the user to use Dust in the form of elemental attacks he/she can channel through the blade or could form into small bullets. But the relics more powerful feature, is the jewel located in the centre of the gauntlet. This jewel grants its user a power boost every ten seconds which can rather be stockpiled to increase the users physical abilities (NOT RECOMMENDED) or it can be use to charge a variety of enchantments based on a chess piece system. However, it's only downside is that it requires a significant amount of time to charge its immense power.
