It has been about two weeks since my hunt in the Emerald Forest. And needless to say, things did not exactly go to plan. First, we had to save a Huntress from a pack of Beowolves, then I get my right arm broken after punching the upper half of an Ursa Major off! So because of that, my "hunt" was immediately cut short and had to return back to Beacon early. But I did have to finish my time in the Emerald Forest once my arm was fully healed.

Speaking of…Peach wasn't exactly thrilled once I arrived. Instead of getting my arm fixed immediately, I was met with a lecture that lasted an entire hour! I mean, it wasn't my fault that I broke my arm. Well…technically, it was…but I didn't know that it would happen! But in a way, Peach kind of reminds me about my aunt…

Getting back on track, one of the reasons why this school is still open is because of Peach! She apparently has a semblance that allows her to repair any and all kinds of injuries from small cuts to a broken limb! But unfortunately, the sped-up healing process does take a toll on whoever she's healing stamina, considering it does take a lot of energy to heal. But she does prefer using Dust to "treat" her students…emphasis on treat. But since then, Ozpin and all of the other professors have been teaching me various things to prepare myself for the initiation next year. I should probably go over on exactly what I was being taught and what discoveries about the Sacred Arm we've made since then. However, I'll be going over one at a time as I don't feel like explaining everything today.

Beacon Academy, Courtyard | September 14, 20XX | 11:00 AM | Day 14/365 | (My POV)

As you already know, Professor Ozpin has taken me under his wing and since then, he has been training me in both hand-to-hand combat and swordplay, considering my primary weapon is a gauntlet with a built in wrist blade. And let me tell you, this guy does not hold back when it comes to training! I even find it hard to believe that either of these guys are even human!

Swtching topics quickly, I may know how the gauntlet's power works. You see, the gauntlet's jewel seems to glow every ten seconds, meaning that the gauntlet charged up…well, a charge. And whenever it seems to charge up, the power itself flows throughout my body, increasing my physical abilities. And what I did in the Emerald Forest proves that!

You see, an Ursa Major's strike is equivalent to that of a cannonball, meaning with a total of two-to-three charges, I was able to block a strike equivalent to that! To simply put it, the gauntlet increased my physical strength, but my arm shattered as it wasn't able to withstand the full force of the punch. And according to Ozpin, that's its just one of its many powers and these "charges" can be used for other abilities as well. But from what he told me, he trained two others that had Sacred Arms, but he has been hesitant to talk about it. But that sentence still lingers, "similar to me", did one of them possess one of the thirteen?

But ever since that night, I've been unable to summon that same figure. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't summon it. I even tried meditating and oh boy let me tell you that was the most boring shit I've ever been through! I couldn't even play my music to hep out! But sooner or later, he's gonna have to come out again and hopefully I'll be able to get some answers. That's all I have at the moment. And as of right now, I'm outside in beacon's courtyard sparring against Ozpin again.

Now, I know what you all might be thinking…why the hell are you sparring against Ozpin again!? Especially after mopped the floor with my ass!? Well unfortunately, I don't really have that many options when it comes to sparring partners.

"YAH!" I yelled out, as I swung my blade at Ozpin. But just as before, the Headmaster was easily able to dodge my attacks.

"Hmm, I must admit, you're picking up on these techniques rather quickly." Ozpin complimented

"Yet, I still can't land a single blow on you." I said, swinging my blade towards him. But just like all of the others, Ozpin dodged them with ease

Seriously! This guys speed is Inhuman!

"Well, I never really expected you to land a small graze on me in your second week of training." Ozpin said

"Yeah…I guess that true." I said, as I went in for another slash, only for the Headmaster to sidestep at the last second. Ozpin raised his arm and karate chopped my neck, sending me crasing to the ground. "Ow…"

"My, it's quite a day. Don't you agree, Mr. Pendragon?" Ozpin asked, as he looked towards the sun and smiles.

"Are you seriously daydreaming at a time like this!?" I yelled out, as I charged at the Headmaster once more. But just as I was about to strike, he merely disappeared in the blink of an eye.

"Perfect day for a picnic, don't you think?" Ozpin asked

"Are you seriously thinking about food at a time like this!?" I shouted 'Actually…I could go for a burger right about now…'

Shaking those thoughts off, I charged forward in another attempt to strike at the Headmaster once more, but each time my blade would even graze him, he was able to dodge each strike with ease! It's like he's not even trying at this point! Every attempt I've made in attacking him, he would simply sidestep, all the while taking a drink out of his mug! But as I swung my blade towards his chest, Ozpin side-stepped out of the way and delivered yet another chop to the back of my neck, but this time I was able to keep my ground. Quickly recovering, I slashed my blade upwards towards the Headmaster. But before my attack made contact, he blocked my blade with his cane.

"You're methods of attacking are rather predictable and rather sloppy if I'd say so myself." Ozpin said, as he dropped his signature mug and grabbed my right arm

"Wait-!? What are you d-!?" I began

"Down you go," Ozpin said, as he threw me over his shoulder and into Beacon's fountain

*SPLASH* After several seconds, I eventually emerged from the water, completely drenched

"Tired?" Ozpin asked

My only response was to spit out the water that managed to get into my mouth from the fountain. If there is one thing I hate in this world, it's wet clothes, especially when they cling to the no-no places! I eventually emerged from the fountian, with water dripping from every corner of my shirt and pants. Ozpin looked towards my direction with a look of expectation in his eyes and motioned me to charge towards him with his right hand.

I charged towards the Headmaster once more. Once he was in range, I quickly swung my blade at him, but sure enough, he dodged the attack with ease. But just as I was about to go in for another strike, Ozpin caught the edge of my blade and twisted it, which in turn twisted the gauntlet and my right arm. Before I could question what he was going to do, Ozpin extended his palm as it suddenly glowed green. A small orb then bursted out of his palm and struck me in the abdomen, making me gasp for breath as it sent me flying across the field and crashed onto the ground

"Ow…" I groaned out, as I slowly sat back up.

But as I did, I saw that Ozpin was walking towards my direction. "Hmm, perhaps I over did it."

As Ozpin approached, I slowly stood up, only for my knee to collapse to the ground as I held my abdomen in pain. But before I could fully get up, Ozpin held out his palm with his left hand

"I believe that is enough for today." Ozpin said

"Damn…" I muttered out as the blade retracted back into the gauntlet and vanished from my arm

Ozpin held out his hand, I let out a small sigh and I grabbed onto it as he pulled me back up to my feet. "While your swordplay has improved immensely, you still have a long way to go before you're ready for the level of combat training required for this academy."

"Yeah, I know." I said, as I squeezed some of the water out of my shirt. "But, I'm starting to believe that none of you are even human!"

"I can assure you that we are." Ozpin said "But unlike the students, they don't have a fairy tale on their side. Which brings me to my next points. You always seem to rely on your blade and your fists."

"Well, I need some sort of weapon to defend myself." I said "And in the occasion my blade suddenly breaks, I need to rely on my fists."

"While that may be true, you need to start using the power within the gauntlet." Ozpin said "Which brings me to my next point, during all of your training sessions, you have yet to use those powers once. You do know that you can use them during these sessions, do you not?" I've seen your gauntlet glow."

"Of course I know that!" I said "But it's not like I don't want to use it. It's more like I don't know how to use it."

"Really, now?" Ozpin questioned "According to Port and Oobleck, you were able to call upon the gauntlet's power during your scuffle with a Grimm in the Emerald Forest."

"But that's the thing. I don't even know how I did it!" I said "Even if I did do it, the impact broke my arm!"

I still get shivers thinking about it!

"I see…" Ozpin pondered "Then we're going to need to find a way to use your power without costing you an arm."

"Yeah, but ever since that day, I've been unable to use it." I said

"Interesting." Ozpin pondered "Well, it is a start."

"If getting a broken arm is a start, then I don't even want to know what else you have in store for me." I said "Wait, you said that you trained two other pupils, right? How did they master theirs?"

"Some time ago, yes." Ozpin said "As for how they did it, I do not know."

"You don't know? How do you not know!?" I shouted

"I meant that when I trained them to use their powers properly, they already had learned to use their powers." Ozpin explained "Especially a forbidden technique simply known as a Stasis Shatter."

"Didn't you mention that before?" I asked "What is it exactly?"

"From what I was able to understand from my pupils, it is an evolved state of a Sacred Arm in which their full powers are unleashed." Ozpin said "Sacred Arms can change and evolve while using the feelings of the possessors as a key. But there is a different territory to that. When the feelings, wishes, and desires of the possessor does a dramatic change that it changes the flow, the stasis of this world. This is what a Stasis Shatter is. When activated, it is said to disrupt the very balance, the very stasis of this world."

"And I'm guessing that's where it got its name?" I said, earning a nod from the Headmaster

.

.

"Wait a minute. Is that why you've been saying those things? You've been trying to antagonize me to use these powers?!" I asked

"In short terms, yes." Ozpin said "But you must understand Mr. Pendragon, time is at the essence. You only have one year after all."

"Yeah, I guess that's true." I said "But who are these pupils? Maybe I could ask them how they did it."

I mean, it might be a long-shot. Bu Ozpin's right, I only have one year. Besides, I think you all already know that I'm not the biggest person when it comes to waiting.

"…" Ozpin didn't respond, he only had a serious expression on his face

…Probably shouldn't have asked that

"Ooo…touchy subject?" I asked

"Let's just say that it is a story for another time." Ozpin said

Didn't you say that the last time?

"Anyways, let's get back to you." Ozpin said

"Well…what about me?" I asked

"There are some issues that we need to address for the future of your training." Ozpin said "Firstly, we need to talk about the way you fight. While you have picked up on the art of the blade rather quickly, your technique is rather sloppy and predictable."

"Well, Oz, I'm not exactly the most patient person on the planet." I said "I'm more like the, 'get straight to the point' kind of person."

"And that is your greatest weakness." Ozpin said "You don't wait for an opening, you do. If this were a real fight with any normal student, then I believe that fight would be over rather quickly."

"Well, if you worked at fast food for over two years, then you'd understand." I said

Seriously, those people can't make up their fucking minds!

"When our weapons clashed, I purposely gave you an opening but you failed to notice that opening. Your lack of patience clouds the mind, and it may be your downfall one day. Keep that in mind." Ozpin said "Which is why for the future of our training sessions, you should focus on the timing of your attacks and to be aware of any openings, as well as tapping into the power the gauntlet holds. However, that is a lesson for another time. Now, let us get onto the second part of today's lesson."

"Wait, I thought you said that we were done with training for the day." I said

"We are. But I'm talking about a social lesson." Ozpin said

"Social?" I asked "Like as in, making more friends?"

"Note quite." Ozpin said "Meanwhile that is helpful, that isn't what I'm implying."

"Then, what are you implying exactly?" I asked

Ozpin's response was to lift up his cane and point it to my right. I looked towards where Ozpin was pointing his cane at, the city of Vale. "I want you to go down to Vale." Ozpin said

"Uh, why?" I asked

"You are in an unfamiliar world, Mr. Pendragon. Perhaps it's time the world that you now live in isn't so unfamiliar to you." Ozpin explained "It would also be a good opportunity to get familiar with the kingdom you will be living in."

I mean, it will only be for about two years. But hey, I guess it's better than nothing.

"Though, please make sure that you make it back to Beacon before nightfall. Strange individuals tend to dwell after dark." Ozpin warned

"I'm pretty sure that I can handle a few street thugs." I said

"Perhaps. Though, street thugs aren't the only thing that roam the streets of Vale." Ozpin said

…Right, there's Juniors, Torchwick, as well as a Faunus cult that's hell-bent on wiping humanity off the face of the planet.

"I'll take your word for it, but first..." I trailed off, looking at my still drenched clothes "...Where is your dryer? And do you have any other clothes if possible?"

"Hmm...I think we can think of something." Ozpin said

Beacon Academy, Western District, Laundry Room | September 14, 20XX | 12:00 PM | Day 14/365 | (3rd Person POV)

'I probably shouldn't have asked that…' Christian thought to himself, tugging at his collar.

Currently, Christian was waiting outside of Beacon's laundry room that was just located in the Western district of the campus. Unfortunately for him, the only other clothing Ozpin had available for him was the uniform that all the other students were wearing while on campus; a black suit that was lined with gold, accompanied by a blue vest, a white shirt, with a red tie. Now wearing a uniform wouldn't be that much of a problem, if he was a fan of such clothing. Before the war on Earth, Christian had previously attended a Catholic school that had a strict dress code policy. And unfortunately, their uniforms were expensive and were made out of this cheap and an uncomfortable cotton material.

"Always hated uniforms since catholic school. Still hate them now." Christian muttered to himself, as he continued to tug at his collar. "Now I can see why Sun hates these things."

But to pass the time and to get his mind off of the uniform, Christian summoned the gauntlet out of his arm; and twisted an turned his arm to inspect how the gauntlet exactly worked. As he inspected the gauntlet, Christian noticed that one of the golden spikes on the gauntlet was actually some-kind of switch. Shortly after pulling it, the front of the gauntlet suddenly popped up, revealing four small compartments that were just big enough to fit one Dust crystal for each. Curious, Christian faced the front of the gauntlet towards him, to see that just on-top where the blade would pop out, there were two nozzles that were evenly spaced out.

"Well, hello…" Christian muttered to himself

But before he could inspect the gauntlet even further, christian spotted a familiar figure in the distance. But even though the figure wasn't facing him, he could tell that the figure was Velvet, based on the pair of rabbit ears on her head. She was steadily walking around and looking over her shoulder every so often. Almost as if she was uncomfortable and was keeping an eye out for something, or even someone.

'Is she looking for someone? Or is she hiding for someone?' Christian thought to himself

He thought that he should at least make his presence known to the rabbit-Faunus, to at least give her some form of comfort. As he walked closer to Velvet from behind, he noticed that Velvet reached into her pocket, pulled out her scroll and dialled someones number. When Christian got close enough, he reached his arm out and tapped her on the shoulder.

"Eep!" Velvet slightly shouted, not expecting the sudden contact. She quickly spun around and slapped Christian across the face. But only soon after realizing her mistake "Oh! I'm sorry!" She apologized

"Ow! I come over to say hello and you slap me?" Christian said, rubbing his cheek

"I'm sorry! I thought you were someone else!" Velvet apologized once more

"It's fine. Anyways, I was here to a-." Christian began "Wait, what do you mean you thought 'I was someone else'? Is something wrong?"

"Well…I-" Velvet began

But before Velvet could continue speaking, there were a series of voice that echoed through the hallway

"Hey, where'd you go!?"

"I think she went this way!

"Ready or not, here we come, rabbit!"

The voices made Velvet shiver in discomfort, as she turned back around towards the source of the voices. Just like, Earth, racism was among one of the many problems of Remnant. But instead of it being a factor of skin colour, it was a factor of more "characteristic traits". As mentioned before, the world of Remnant is also the home to the Faunus, a race of demi-humans that has one animal-trait to them such as ears, tail, fins, wings, antlers, even skin alterations such as scales.

Their animal-like traits has given these race of demi-humans the abilities seen in animals. Most Faunus' races such as primate-Faunus or some Reptile-Faunus, have prehensile tails that they could use to wrap around anything. Another example is that the more aquatic race of Faunus can travel underwater much quicker. But the most noticeable example, is night vision, where one has th ability to see in the dark as clear as day. But in Velvet's case, she has much better hearing than most humans.

Because of this, the Faunus in comparison to humans are superior based on their characteristics. However, due to these same characteristics, the Faunus were subjected to a large amount of racism across a majority of humans. From shops not willing to serve them, to some even being denied good paying jobs to provide for their families. This is what eventually led to the formation of an organization known as "The White Fang", which later on had become a terrorist group. Mankind has been taking strides to fill the gap for the last eight years, but it's still there.

'Right…' Christian thought to himself 'Forgot the racism is a problem here too.'

As the voices came closer with each second that passed, Christian pondered his thoughts on what he should do. At first, he thought of holding off the bullies until Velvet could get far away enough and could probably bring some help. But, not only Christian was tired from today's sparring lesson from Ozpin, he wasn't sure if he could take on not one, not two, but THREE trained Huntsman. The nest thing he could do, was to at least throw the bullies of of her trail, and he had an idea where.

"Hey, Velvet." Christian said, planting a hand on her shoulder

"Y-Yes?" Velvet asked

"Follow me." Christian said, pointing to the laundry room

The rabbit Faunus looked back and forth between the hallway, where the bullies were and the laundry room, her potential safe-haven. She shyly nods, as she follows Christian into the laundry room and closes the door behind her as quickly and quietly as she could. The laundry room in the academy was a large as a normal washer-shop, bring nearly filled to the brim with washers and dryers with just enough space between them for people to walk by; considering there were hundreds of students in the academy. To their right, was a total of four chairs and a side table with piles of magazines for people to read if they had to wait to wash and dry their respected clothing. But what stood out the most, was a huge pile of clothes.

"Wow, I don't even want to think about his or her dry cleaning bills." Christian said, marvelling at the amount of clothing, noticing that a majority of it seemed to belong to a woman. Seeing that a majority of it were tan sweaters and even a buret. "Who even needs this much clothes anyway!?"

"It belongs to my teammates actually. The majority of it however belongs to Co-!" Velvet began

But before Velvet could fully answer him, she was cut off when the voices of the bullies were just outside the door. She immediately stopped talking and started to steady her breath.

"Hey, where is she?"

"I think she's hiding in here!"

"Come out rabbit! Or we're coming in!"

Velvet felt more uneasy, as the pair of rabbit ears on her head folded downwards. She had unknowingly trapped herself in a corner and had nowhere to go. Christian on the other hand, began to look around the room, looking for some small piece of space that was just large enough to hide a person. Eventually his eyes, laid upon the mountain of clothing in the laundry room. An idea sarked into head…although it was a smelly and disgusting one.

"Hey, Velvet." Christain said

"Yes?" Velvet asked

"How long can you hold your breath for?" Christian asked

"About…four minutes, why?" Velvet asked

"Then, allow me to apologize in advanced for this." Christian said

"S-Sorry for w-?" Velvet tried to say

But before Velvet could finish, Christian grabbed her by the arm, dragged and then shoved her into the mountain of clothing in the room. Ad she was shoved into the pile, the top of the mountain of the clothing caved in, causing it to fall and bury the rabbit Faunus into a pile of shirt, pants, and underwear. Unfortunately, her pair of rabbit ears were still sticking up, so Christian grabbed a handful of clothes and threw them on-top of Velvet's ears.

"Mph mph mph mpph!? (What are you doing!?)" Velvet said, the clothing muffling her voice

"I have no idea what you're saying, but shhhhh!" Christian hushed

After throwing the final piece of under on-top of Velvet's ears, Christian ran back towards the front of the room, quickly sat down in one of the many chairs, grabbed one of the many magazines and brought it up to his face, making it look like he was reading it. But as he flipped through the pages of the magazine, he saw an article that caught his eye; one that was titled: "Missing Children Cases Escalates. Authorities Baffled."

*SLAM* But just as Christian was about to read it, the door to the laundry room swung open, revealing three boys, each of them having different coloured hair consisting of red, blue, and black.

They turned their heads to look around the room, looking for any sign of the rabbit Faunus, until they saw a lone boy sitting in a chair and reading a magazine.

"Hey, you!" The boy with red hair called out

"Hmm?" Chritian hummed as he placed the magazine down. "Oh, hey, did you need something?"

"Did you see someone else come in here?" The boy with blue hair asked

"No, I've been here for the last ten minutes. Why do you ask?" Christian lied, with a hint of faked arrogance

"Uh…nothing. We're just looking for someone." The boy with blue hair said

"Hang on, I did see someone run past here when I was looking out the door." Christian said "I couldn't make it out who it was, but I did notice that she had brown hair. At least, I'm assuming she's a she."

"Where did this person go?" The boy with black hair asked

"When I went to check, I saw her running down the hall to the right. Just to the courtyard." Christian lied

The three boys nodded in unison, as they disappeared from the doorframe one by one. After waiting for several minutes, Christian got up to the door and opened it a crack to see if the three bullies had left. After confirming that they were nowhere to be seen, Christian rushed towards the pile of laundry and began to dig Velvet out as fast as he could.

"Velvet! You better not be dead under there!" Christian shouted, as he continuously threw dirty clothing across the room.

Eventually, Christian managed to dig out the pair of rabbit ears that were poking out of the pile. He dug even faster until he saw Velvet's face, which was concealed with a pair of rather large boxers. As the rabbit Faunus stood up, she pulled the pair of boxers off her head, revealing her face underneath that had a mixture of red and green out of slight embarrassment and disgust.

"Yeah…sorry about that. If I had time to explain what I was going to do, I would've." Christian apologized, extending his right arm towards her.

"N-No…it's alright." Velvet understood, grabbing ahold of Christians and as he pulled her up. But as he did, Velvet noticed that gauntlet that was on his arm. "Is that your weapon?"

"Hmm?" Christian hummed, as he looked down towards his right arm "Oh, yeah, it is."

"Does it have a name?" Velvet asked

"Does it have to have a name?" Christian asked

"Well, that's up to you. It's your weapon after all." Velvet said "What have you been calling it this whole time?"

'I've just been referring to this thing as 'the gauntlet' this whole time.' Christian thought to himself "Uh…how about…Viserion?"

"Viserion? That's a strange name." Velvet said "What is it named after?"

Christian shrugged. "I don't know, the name just came to me."

"Well, if it's alright, can I take a picture?" Velvet asked

"Uh, sure. I don't see the harm in it." Christian said, as he held his arm out, giving a full view of the gauntlet

Velvet took out her camera/weapon from behind her back, Anesidora. After several seconds, the camera flashed, taking the picture of the gauntlet. After the flash, Velvet put her camera to the side "Thank you."

"No problem." Christian said

*DING* The dryer suddenly made a small series of dings, implying that Christian's clothes were done drying.

"Finally!" Christian said, as he took his clothes out of the dryer. "We should probably get out here before they figure out that they were juked."

"Yes, we should." Velvet said, as the two walked out of the laundry room

"So, where were you heading, before Moe, Larry, and Curly decided to show up?" Christian asked, earning a confused look from Velvet. "It's from an old film. Don't look too much into it."

"I was heading back to my dorm." Velvet said

"Do you need me to tag along?" Christian asked "I'm heading back to my dorm to get changed anyway."

"Sure, I don't mind." Velvet said "And, thank you for doing that for me."

Christian chuckled "You're thanking me for throwing and burying you in a pile of dirty laundry? That's a strange thing to be thankful for. Maybe you should try to be thankful that you didn't suffocate under all that bad smell." He said, causing Velvet to chuckle

.

.

.

"But…why would you do that?" Velvet asked

"Uh…are we still talking about you being buried under th-." Christian tried to say

Velvet cut him off. "No, I'm talking about…why did you do that for me? If they found out that you were helping me, you could've gotten hurt, or even worse."

"Why wouldn't I? Friends help each other out, don't they?" Christian asked

"But, I'm just a F-." Velvet tried to say

Christian cut her off. "Don't! Don't finish that sentence! Faunus or not, no one should be looked don upon just because of who you are. And as I said before, you're my friend, that's plenty of reason to help out. Besides, I find the animal-ear-and-tail-thing adorable."

Velvet's face became a blushing mess "W-What?"

"Anyway…!" Christian said, changing the subject "Who's clothing was that in the laundry room?"

"It belong to one of my teammates, Coco." Velvet said "She has an entire wardrobe in our dorms and what you saw was only a quarter of it."

"That entire pile that could put Mountains to shame…wait that's just a qu-!?" Christian tried to say

But before he could finished, a massive muscular figure popped up in-front the two of them. The hulking figure reeled its fist back and slammed it into Christian's stomach area, sending him flying across the hallway until his body slammed into the wall back first before collapsing to the ground.

"Velvet, are you alright!?" The hulking figure asked in concern

The figure took the form of a tall and athletic-looking young man with shaved-short black hair and tanned skin, who wears mostly pale-green and brown has a long short-sleeved robe, which he wears on one shoulder over a black muscle shirt. The robe is fastened at the waist by a leather armored belt with two pouches on it. He also wears brown pants and black-and-green boots. His left arm bears a five-layer sode which extends up past his shoulder that are cable of sliding based on the movement of his arm, allowing for more movement and flexibility. His weapon is affixed to his back with a padded brown strap slung over his shoulder. He also wears a pair of bracers as well as a pair of black gloves with green plates on the backs. This was Yatsuhashi, team member of Team CFVY, and Velvet's partner.

Velvet's eyes widened at the sudden appearance of her partner…and the fact that he had just punched he boy who saved her. She quickly shook herself out of her daze. "Yatsu! Why did you do that!?"

"What do you mean? I was protecting you fr-!" Yatsuhashi tried to say

Velvet cut him off. "He's the boy I was telling you and the others about! He just saved me from the three that were chasing me!"

.

.

"Oh…" Yatsuhashi realized

Velvet sighed as she ran across the hall to Christian's aid, who was just getting off of h ground "Ow…" He wheezed out

"Are you alright!?" Velvet asked in concern, as she helped him up

"Yeah…I just need to walk it o-." Christian tried to say, only to stop himself as he held his stomach in pain "Why does this always happen to me!?"

By that time, Yatsuhashi had made his way towards the ending of the hallway and stopped in place. He tucked his arms into his side and began to apologize in his own way. "I'm sorry!" Yatsuhashi shouted as he bowed, slamming his own head into the ground and creating a small crater

"It's…aright." Christian wheezed "You were just trying to protect her…"

"Do you need to go to the infirmary?" Velve asked

"No, as I tried to say before, I just need to walk it off. Well, it was nice meeting you…Yatsu, was it?" Christian asked, extending his right arm to the Huntsman-in-training, which he happily accepted

"Yatsuhashi Daichi." Yastuhashi introduced "I only wished that we met under better circumstances."

"Yeah, same here." Christian said, as he pulled out his scroll. His eyes widened to see that the time was now 12:30 PM. 'Jeez time moves fast in this place!' He thought to himself

"Anyways, I should probably get going by now. I need to get changed, then I'm heading to Vale for the rest of the days." Christian said "I'll see you two afterwards."

The two Hunters-in-training smiled and waved goodbye to the boy, as they soon parted ways and were walking back to their own respected dorms to prepare themselves for the afternoon."

The City of Vale | September 14, 20XX | 1:00 PM | Day 14/365 | (My POV)

So, shortly after my misunderstood meeting with Yatsuhashi, I walked…well, limped back towards my dorm-room to get myself changed back into my normal clothes before making my way towards the courtyard to wait for the next Bullhead to take me into the city. And let me tell you something, from what I saw from a Bullheads eyes view (that's a phrase, right?), we've only seen a fraction of what the city had to offer than what we saw in the show itself.

But seeing the City of Vale up close and personal was something else but familiar at the same time. The city's streets where nearly filled with people, varying from various races of skin colour and from whichever kingdom they may have come from. Faunus and Humans alike could be seen roaming the streets, going about their daily lives. Cars could be seen and heard going up and down the streets, as people used the sidewalks and signs to avoid oncoming traffic and to navigate themselves through this entire city. It was important to note that the cars themselves had a different look to them compared to the ones back on Earth, considering they used some kind of Dust and not gasoline. The lampposts themselves seemed to be normal as well and on their bases were a series of flyers, advertisements, and a few "missing" posters.

But the thing that was defiantly most familiar to me, were large walls that surrounded the entire city to protect its people, along with the multiple pieces of aircraft that patrolled the skies above. But upon closer examination, there were large numbers and letters above the gats of the walls themselves. The one that i was looking at had "Gate #4", indicating that this was the fourth gate that protected the city. I guess I can't escape everything, huh? Everywhere I go, there's always a big wall in the way.

But in many ways, the city of Vale felt foreign, but familiar at the same time. But to be fair, I was expecting at least something more "alien-or-sci-fi-looking", considering this place has much more advanced technology than we do. Basically, I'm trying to say that Vale is pretty much every other big city you'll find back on Earth…with the exceptions of Dust, robots, superhuman, and every other thing you'll find on Remnant. It isn't as unfamiliar as I thought it would be. But, that does bring up the question…

"Where am I even going?" I asked myself, looking around the city in an attempt to find where I can pass the time.

I know that Ozpin told me to go down to Vale, but I probably should've thought about what I should do while I'm here. Besides Tukson's Book trade and Dust 'Till Dawn, which is run by that same old guy for some reason, I really had no idea what other places are in the city. I guess I can do a little bit of exploring. I started to walk in a random direction on the streets of Vale, various Faunus and Humans passing by me. And under close examination, when all the people in the background aren't just silhouettes or copy and pasted model, they all look diverse.

*GURGLE* But before I could continue walking, I stopped my self as I felt my stomach clench and let out a slight gurgling sound.

"Right, I probably should've grabbed myself something back at Beacon." I muttered to myself

Don't get me wrong, the food here probably tastes good, but money is one of the many problems I have right now. Ever since coming here, Ozpin gave me a handful of Lien for whatever I saw fit. And sure, I could look for a job while I'm out here, but that is almost close to impossible because the Kingdom literally has no record of me! But, that is a problem for future Christian, for now I'm a little munchy. I did say that I could go for a burger earlier today, so why don't I just get that? So, I guess my first stop is to go to some kind of diner…they have diners here, right?

.

.

What kind of question is that!? Of course they do, it's a city after all! But eventually, after several minutes of walking, my eyes laid upon a small diner called "Nilrem Cafe".

"I guess that'll do." I said, as I walked towards the cafe

From what I was able to tell from the glass door, the diner itself is what you'd usually see in a normal diner on Earth. A counter on the right side of the building, with a grill and various chefs flipping burgers and making food. And on the left side of the diner, was a dining area with a seres of chairs and tables for people to sit down on. As I opened the door, the little bell rung above my head

"Welcome! A girl said from behind the counter

I waved and walked over to one of the many seats that were near the counter

"What can I get you?" The waitress asked

"Well, what do you have?" I asked

The waitress simply rose her arm above her head and pointed to one of the many signs above

Hamburger….$2.00

Cheeseburger...$4.00

Bacon Cheeseburger…$6.00

Fries (Small)….$1.50

Fries (Medium)..$3.00

Fries (Large)…$4.50

Fountain Drinks (Small)…$2.50

Fountain Drinks (Medium)…$4.00

Fountain Drinks (Large)…$5.50

"Hmm…?" I pondered, looking at the menu to see if anything caught my eye "I'll have one Bacon Cheeseburger, a small pack of fries, and a medium pop with it."

"You got it." The waitress said, as she grabbed a medium-sized cup and placed it on the soda' machines tray. "So, you must be new to Vale, right?"

"Yeah." I said, as she placed the drink in-front of me. "Wait, how did you know?"

"People tend to come here a lot. You get to know the locals." The waitress said

"Ah." I said in realization

"But since your new here. what's your name?" The waitress asked

"Christian." I introduced

"Christian, huh? Nice to meet you. My name is Vivian." The newly named Vivian said

"Nice to meet you as well." I said

"Why thank you." Vivian said "So, what brings you here to Vale?"

"What do you mean?" I asked

I mean, I'm just here to explore and nothing more.

"You know, what are you doing in Vale? is it work? Are you visiting family? Friends?" Vivian asked

"I guess you can call what I'm doing work." I said

"How so?" Vivian asked

"Well, I'm training to be a Huntsman." I said

"Ooh, going up to the big leagues now, huh?" Vivian said

"Well, something like that." I said

"So, what is it that your after? Money? Fame? The greater good? Huntsman and Huntresses have all sorts of motivations these days." Vivian said

"…" I remained silent

And there's that question again. Ever since I took Ozpin's offer two weeks ago, I still haven't figured out what I'm going to do next. What am I aiming and hoping to accomplish here? The first thing that came to mind was to kill the False Maiden, Cinder…but what am I going to do about it once I actually do it? Can I do it? And what will I do after The Fall? And the knowledge of future events I have only goes up to the first episode of Volume 4, where a third of the main characters are on their way to Mistral. Then there's that Grimm Queen and the rest of her personal flying monkeys, even when they're dealt with…what about beyond?

"I…don't really know." I admitted

"You're training to be a Huntsman, but you don't know why?" Vivian asked

"I never really thought about it that much to be honest. I'm just filling out a promise I made to someone. But after that, I don't know what to do." I said

"Is that so? Well, I'm sure that you'll figure it out someday." Vivian said, as she placed my order down in front of me

Wow, that was fast. And damn does that look good!

"Yeah, hopefully." I said

"Well, the food isn't going to eat itself. Dig in." Vivian said

"Right. Thank you for the food." I said 'Now, get in my belly!'

The City of Vale | September 14, 20XX | 1:20 PM | Day 14/365 | (My POV)

"Come again soon!" Vivian said, as I walked out of the diner

"Yeah, see you later." I said, as I walked back onto the streets of Vale

Okay, now that I actually had something to eat…where should I go next? This place is much bigger than I previously imagined, so I have so many options to choose from. But for a majority of the time, I was just looking at the city's architecture. I did say that it was similar to the ones back home, there were some differences. Though, there really was nothing that caught my eye; most of the buildings were either shops, restaurants, and even an arcade. Meanwhile and arcade does sound fun right about now, I'm heavily limited on Lien and I don't feel like going on my knees and beg the Headmaster for money.

So, as I mentioned before, my options were severely limited until I can get more Lien in my pocket. Not to mention, that a few sores I passed by that had a sign that said "No Faunus Allowed." on their front windows in big bold letters. Racism, something that humanity will never change. But just as I was about to turn the corner, a small spaced out alleyway caught my eye. Besides the usual graffiti coating the buildings wall, a majority of it was covered in missing person posters.

Wait, now that I mentioned it…I believe that there was a news article about it when I picked up that magazine. Not only that, there were more of those missing person posters on the lamppost as well. As I got closer, I could see that a majority of them were kids, about or below my age. I guess I can see why Ozpin wanted me to be back by dawn. Still, I hope that they find them soon, their parents must be worried sick.

.

.

Argh! I'm thinking about those thoughts again!

Turning my attention away from the posters, I looked around the area to get my mind off of it. Eventually, my eyes laid upon a rather large, brown and green building with two large windows on each side of the front of the building. Above it, was a sign that read "Tukson's Book Trade."

I mean, I did mention the place in passing. But, I might as well do some light reading in there, especially for the novels I'm interested in. Despite beacon's library being so incredibly big, it was severely limited in different genres of books. Seeing as some of those books are more…"intimate", than others. So, to help pass the time, I walked over to the building and opened the door, a small bell ringing over my head. Upon entering the bookstore, there were many shelves that were filled to the brim with books that were organized. Comics remained in the fronts, with other novels in the middle and the back of the shop. And at the end of the shop, was a single counter with a cash register on top, which may lead into a back room.

"Hello?" I called out

"I'll be right there!" A voice yelled from the back.

After several seconds of silence, a man came out from behind the counter. The man wore a short-sleeved burgundy and black shirt with a visible white undershirt. His hair was cleanly cut, and he had noticeable sideburns, along with hairy, muscular arms. This was Tukson

"Welcome to Tukson's Book Trade, home to every book under the sun." Tukson introduced "How can I h-!" He began, but cut himself off when his eyes met mind

"Uh…hi?" I said

'Uh, how can I help you?" Tukson asked

"I'm just here to browse." I said, as I walked around the store

"Oh, well, let me know if you need anything." Tukson said as he went towards the back of the counter

"Thanks." I said, as I looked at the various shelves that were filled to the brim with various books. Eventually, I came across a book titled "The Four Lords.".

"Title sounds promising." I said, as I took the book of the shelf. "Let's see what we got."

"The Great War, a part of our history that will forever be remembered throughout all of Remnant. This was a time of bloodshed, despair, conflict, betrayal, each of the worlds Lords locked in battle that raged for years."

What was once a mere battle for Territory and Land turned into a full scale conflict with the Forces and nations of Remnant."

"Each kingdom has their own share of ideas, their own ways of life that would prove to be the spark of conflict that would soon grow into a blazing inferno of the Great War."

"King Wulfric of Mantle wished to expand his territory and resources for the good of his people, often attempting to form an alliance with the other kingdoms in hopes to feed and protect his people. This was his idea of Preservation."

"Queen Mulan of Mistral merely wished for her people to continue their way of life, as well as spreading this way of life to the other Kingdoms of Remnant. This was her idea of Unity."

"Queen Vulcan of Vacuo merely wished to keep her kingdoms individuality, not wanting to ally herself with other Kingdoms in fear they would attempt to conquer her home hat she had worked so hard to keep and preserve. This was her idea of Liberation."

"King Arthur of Vale, wished to end the bloodshed that the war has caused and plagued his people, not wanting to risk anymore danger to his people. This was his idea of Protection."

"But despite all of those conflicting ideologies and bloodshed, the four lords were able to come together under one cause, creating a new era of peace of prosperity that enveloped all of those ideologies."

"Then during the final battle, the fight that would determine the fate of all four kingdoms, a beast of unspeakable terror laid wastes to their armies. United under on common cause, the Four Lords struck the beast down

"Once the dust had finally settled, the Four Lords saw an opportunity to finally achieve peace that all of them wanted. On the final day of the war, the Four Lords stepped down from their status as rulers of their land and would continue not just their kingdoms, but all of Remnant."

"But they wouldn't protect the world as Lords, but as teachers. With this newfound treaty formed and the Huntsmen Academies founded, the former Lords would take the knowledge they had gained from the war and pass it down for the next generation of Hunters.

"Once the war was over and the Kingdoms of Remnant were united, the four Lords were entrusted with the safety of there respective kingdoms. Each kingdom needed a champion to guard and preserve the peace needed in order for the people to be safe."

"King Wulfric Entrusted the safety of Altas to Winter, The Winter Maiden."

"Queen Mulan Entrusted the safety of Mistral to Spring, The Spring Maiden."

"King Arthur Entrusted the safety of Vale to Autumn, The Fall Maiden."

"However, Queen Vulcan would take a different approach when it came to the protection of her kingdom, Vacuo."

"Alongside her Companion, The Summer Maiden, she would protect her kingdom until her dying breath. With this new found peace founded, she would fight alongside Autumn with the Power of the Stasis Shatter, bestowed upon her by the Blue Dragon Spirit of Liberation, Viserion"

.

.

"Wait, what?!" I asked, re-reading the last line.

"With this new found peace founded, she would fight alongside Autumn with the Power of the Stasis Shatter, bestowed upon her by the Dragon Spirit of Liberation, Viserion"

"Thus ends the tale of The Four Lords."

"Wait, what!? No, there has to be more in here! I yelled slightly as I flipped the pages in an attempt to find more information about what I just read. "Come on, come on, come on, come on! You can't just leave it on cliffhanger like this!"

"Hey! Keep it down out there! This is technically a library!" Tukson yelled from the back

"Uh, sorry!" I said as I put the book back to where it was…and silently cursed myself

Shit! I mean, come one! The moment I find something that could potentially help me in the future, it immediately gets cut off! As soon as I read the passage, I actually thought that I had something. This is why I hate cliffhangers! But on the plus side, I at least now know one of the previous possessors was Queen Vulcan, maybe she left something about the gauntlet at her resting place in Vacuo or something. Something that I can actually use…

.

Wait a minute…Vacuo. And…the Sacred Arms!

"…I think I just figured out what I'm going to do, Vivian". I said to myself

The City of Vale | September 14, 20XX | 1:40 PM | Day 14/365 | (My POV)

"Come again!" Tukson shouted as I walked out of the store.

If there's any more information on the gauntlet, or other possible users of Sacred Arms in you library, then yes, I'll be back very soon.

"I will." I said

I looked up towards the sky to see that the sun was still out, meaning I still had enough time to do anything else that was on my mind. Though right now, the only thing I could think of at the moment was the gauntlet and the rest of the Sacred Arms themselves. If we're going to get ready for what's to come, then I think its a good idea to learn as much as I can about these things and maybe make a few allies while I'm at it. I mean, if Cinder and her boss gets a hold of all the Maiden's powers, then that means we'll have to compensate with Sacred Arm power.

As of now, I barely know anything about the gantlet itself and I need to discover more about what it can do. I only have less than two years until the Fall to discover what I can do. Then after that, Vacuo is my first stop to see if Queen Vulcan left any knowledge behind about the gauntlet. And if I meet and ally myself with other Sacred Arm users as well, then that's a bonus! But as of right now, I only know two Sacred Arm users in the modern day, the two pupils that Ozpin taught awhile back. Maybe I can find out who they are if I could do some digging. But I should probably focus on mastering my power before going after the others, seeing as I don't know if they're exactly…"sane".

But as I continued to walk down the streets of Vale, I looked around to see that I was starting to wander into a more sketchier part of the city.

"Uh…how did I get here?" I asked myself as I looked around the area.

Compared to the more nicer art of Vale, it was rather bought looking and was almost a ghost-town if it wasn't for the few people that were walking on the streets. As mentioned before, there were people varying from humans to Faunus' sitting on the steps of the surrounding area. There were even some shirtless, muscular people fighting in some kind of street fight, as people were betting on to see who would win. But for a place like this, it doesn't seem that bad, but this must be where some gang members or something hang out. And the fact that there are reports of people missing, I think I should try to get out of here as fast and as quiet as I could.

But just as I turned around, I accidentally bumped into someone. "Sorry." I apologized, as I tried to rush past him

But before I could continue walking, I could feel the same guy grab the back of my collar and held me up until I was at eye level with him "Hey! Hold it runt!"

The man had a muscular, yet-overweight build to him. He had a tan complexion and lacked hair on the top of his head, but had a long black moustache that trailed pat his eyes. His clothing consisted of dark blue jeans with large over-straps and a dirty white shirts. For simplicity's sake, lets just call him "Boss Guy"

"Listen to me, pipsqueak! No one runs into me lie that and gets away with it! Who the hell do you think you're messing with!?" The guy said

"Honestly, I have no idea." I said

A smile crept up his face. "Maybe you'd like me to show ya, huh!?"

But as the "thug" talked, he was forcing his glow of breath towards my face. And to put it as nicely as I could, it was the worst thing I've ever smelled in my entire life!

"Ugh! Sorry, but I can't focus on what you're saying with the god awful breath!" I said, plugging my nose

No, I mean seriously. I'm not joking! It's that bad! I'm actually trying to help him!

"What the hell did you say!?" The guy asked, his grip getting tighter around my collar

"Seriously, its's that bad! Brush and floss your teeth! Or go see a dentist! Or use some mouth wash! I don't care what you do, just get of that bad breath before you kill someone!" I said

"Hmph, guess this small fry has quite a big mouth on him." A second man said as he walked up towards the guy

"Then, how about we knock him down a few pegs?" A third man said

Does it seriously take this many guys just to pick on a teenager!?

"Do you have any idea who controls this part of the city!? Us, that's who!" The boss guy said "So, don't you forget it!"

"…" The only thing I did was to give the guy a deadpanned expression

"You have that look on your face. What else do you got to say!?" The boss guy said

"Yeah, actually." I said "Can you put me down now? I have to get going."

"Heh, that's cute! If you thought that you could cross us and get away with it, then you must be stupider than you look! Come on boys, let's teach this punk a-*CRACK*!" The boss guy tried to say, but was cut off when I punched the man in the face, causing him to lose his grip as he held his nose which began to bleed "GAH! SON OF A-!"

'Well, I could've gone the entire day without doing that.' I thought to myselfas I hid my right arm behind my back and summoned the gauntlet

"Now you've done it, kid!" One of the other guys said as he brought a switchblade out

*SHINK* My response was for me to clench my fist, the blade shooting out where the knuckles were. The mans face suddenly went pale as he saw my blade compared to this. I think it's safe to say that he may have wetted himself.

"Mine is bigger than yours." I said with a smirk

"Don't fret! There's one of him and three of us!" The boss guy said, as he ran towards my direction.

Just as the man swung his fist at me, I quickly side-stepped out of the way as I reeled back my left arm, clenching my fist fist and delivered a swift punch to his jaw. But what I wasn't expecting was a massive, dark arm to reach over my back and to strike the man, sending him flying several feet into and alleyway. I quickly turned around to see the same winged figure I saw in the Emerald Forest and in the gauntlet.

"Huh, how about that." I muttered to myself, as I turned towards the remaining two men "So, anyone else?"

However, the only response I got from them was that they backed up slowly with expressions of shock and fear on their faces

"W-What the hell are you!?" The guy asked

"Well, last time I check, I'm hu-." I tried to say

The second man cut me off "H-He's some kind of demon!"

"…What?" I asked

"Y-Yeah! It's like he's possessed or something!" The guy said

"Well, I really wouldn't say-!" I tried to say

"RUN!" One of them said, as they grabbed their boss from the alleyway and ran off

.

.

Silence filled the town I was in, the group of men soon disappearing around one of the many corners behind the buildings. Leaving me to ponder and process what just happened.

"So…whenever a Schnee summons something, it's perfectly normal. But when I do it, I get labeled as a demon. How does that work exactly?" I asked myself. "But, how did I do that?"

Maybe…if I concentrate? Thought just like last time, I was met with silence.

"Figures." I muttered

But I should probably start heading back. It is almost two and I do want to make it back to Beacon before dawn. I placed my hand into my pocket to retrieve the scroll Ozpin had given me…at least I was expecting my scroll to be there, because the only thing I felt was thin air

"W-What the-?! Where is it?! I had it just a second ago! Where did it-?!" I began, only for the sudden realization to hit me like a truck. "Hey! Get the hell back here!" I yelled, running in the direction where the men started to run off to.

The City of Vale, Abandoned Warehouse | September 14, 20XX | 1:55 PM | Day 14/365 | (3rd Person POV)

Shortly after their encounter with the boy, the two men made their way bac towards their base of operations; an abandoned warehouse that was nearly filled to the brim with crates varying from sizes and shapes. In the centre of the warehouse, was a large table that was covered in poker chips and even small piles of Lien. After one of the man closed the doors behind them, they placed their boss down on one of the many chairs in the warehouse.

"W-What the hell was that kid!?" Man A asked

"I don't know, but he was possessed! He even took down the boos so easily!" Man B said "Who was he?"

"I'm not sure. Though I do know that I don't want to get on that kid's bad side." Man A said

"Tell me about it." Man B said

"Ugh…" The Boss muttered as he regained consciousness

"Boss! Man A and Man B said in unison, as they ran to his side.

"Ugh…what the hell happened?" The Boss asked

"Whew, we thought that we lost you there." Man B said

"What do you mean?" The Boss asked

"Don't you remember? That kid that bumped into you. He must've been some kind of demon or something!" Man A said

"Yeah, he was able to knock you out in one hit!" Man B said

"Ugh, yeah I remember. I still feel it." The Boss said, holding his side in pain

"This city's got some real freaks now'a days, huh?" Man B said

"Yeah…but that kid's gonna regret that he ever crossed paths with us!" The Boss proclaimed

"What'd you mean, boss?" Man B asked

The Boss's response was to reach into his back pocket and pull out the boy's stolen scroll and waved it in delight.

"Ha! You stole his scroll!" Man A cheered

"That'll teach him who's boss!" Man B cheered "But…what are you going to do with it?"

"First, I want to see what kind of dirt we can get on this thing. Then, we'll-!" The Boss began, only to hold his tongue as he looked at the scroll's screen

"Is something the matter, boss?" Man B asked

"No…nothing's wrong. More like the opposite.?" The Boss said, a smile creeping up his face as he showed his two men what was on the scroll's screen

The two mean stared closely at the screen, seeing the name "Beacon Academy" being one of the boy's many contacts across the screen. Man A and B stared in shock, before turning into a twisted smile. If this was they thought it was, who knows what they could do with this sort of information.

"Do you two have any idea what we can do with this kind of information!?" The Boss asked

Holy shit…we could run most of the Industrial District of Vale with this!" Man A cheered

"But why should we stop there!? We could dominate and rule all of Vale with this sort of stuff! Just think about it, the entire city and it's riches run by us and us alone!" The Boss sad

"Yeah!" Man A and Man B cheered in unison

"But…how will we do it boss?" Man B asked

"It's simple, first we'll-!" The Boss tried to say

*CREAK* But the boss stopped himself as he heard the doors to their hideout open, revealing a feminine-like figure. However, what the figure was wearing was blocked out by the sun that shone through the open door, making it hard to see who it was.

"Whose there!?" The Boss asked

"…" The figure remained quiet, the only sound she made were the clacking of heels on the concrete.

"I said…whose there!?" The Boss shouted in and angry tone

"…" The feminine-figure merely kept walking in the warehouse, the clacking under her heels getting louder

"Are you deaf!?" The Boss shouted "Who are you!?"

"…" The figure merely stopped in her tracks, moving her upper body and head up and down, almost as if she was playfully looking around the warehouse. As if she was in her own little world.

The Boss was getting angrier by the second, not appreciating that he was being ignored. He clenched his fists as he stormed towards the feminine-figure. "Don't think that you can just walk in here and act like you o-!" He said, as he reached towards the femine-figure.

But just as his hand made contact with the feminine figure, to his surprise, the figure shattered like she was made out of glass. He took a sudden step backwards, not expecting the girl to shatter right before his very eyes. He attempted to call or even shout to the girl to come out, but the only thing that escaped from his mouth were small whispers.

"W-What just-!?" The boss began, but stopped himself when he felt an excruciating pain through his stomach.

The pain was sudden, quick, but he couldn't even react to it. A burning sensation traveled throughout this entire body as he looked down to what was causing his pain. It was a small thin blade that impaled the Boss through his stomach, and behind him was the feminine figure who held the thin blade in the form of some kind of umbrella. The Boss fell to his knees as he violently coughed up blood. The feminine figure yanked her blade out, causing blood to shoot out of the Boss's impaled stomach and collapsed in his own puddle of blood. As for the Boss's two men, they both just stood their in silence, shocked at what they had just witnessed.

"T-This chick just took out the boss like he was nothing." Man A muttered in fear

"W-What do we do?" Man B asked in fear

The feminine figure opened her eyes and stared towards to two men. They both froze at the sight. The only thing they could see was the sinister smirk that was creeping up the feminine figures face, as well as a pair of eyes, one pink and one brown eye.

"…Run." Man A said

The City of Vale, Sketchy Area | September 14, 20XX | 2:15 PM | Day 14/365 | (My POV)

"Come on, where di you guys run off too!?" I shouted, as I continued to run

Shortly after the run-in with some thugs, and surprisingly was able to summon the same winged figure, I was able to knock down the boss guy. But unfortunately, the moment I did, I was immediately labelled as a demon by the other two men as they ran with their unconscious boss in tow. I was about to head back, until I found out the boss somehow got his hands into my pocket and stole my scroll! I mean, who the hell does that to people!?

I mean sure, I can get another scroll for Ozpin, but that specific scroll had very private information, especially's Ozpin's number! But, let's put a mental note to get pant with zipper pockets to prevent this from happening again. And, lets add another note to self to get a notebook or even post-it notes to remind me! But seriously, where the hell do I even find these gu-? However, my train of thought was cut off when I saw two of the Boss guy's men run out of a random warehouse.

"Huh…well that was easier than expected." I muttered to myself, as waked towards the warehouse

But as I walked closer to the warehouse, I noticed that the footprints that the two men had left, were coated in blood. And now that I mention it, these two were defiantly running out in a hurry, like they were scared of what was in there. So, I have two theories to of what happened. One, the boss was pissed that a little boy beat him and decided to take out his frustrations and killed one of this own men. Or two, there's a horrible creature from hell that's just waiting to nom on someone else's jewels.

But whenever you see of think or see something like this, most people would just turn and walk away. But call me stupid or stubborn, I'm not going to walk away until I get my scroll back. Besides, is this really is some kind of Grimm that snuck in, that it shouldn't be that much of a problem, right? All I need is one good slash, then that's it, no broken limbs.

*SHINK* I readied my blade, getting ready for another fight with an angered mob boss or a monster…which ever comes first. I slowly peaked my head around the corner of the warehouse's door. And what I saw, was something possibly even worse than what I was thinking.

Sitting on a chair at the very end of the warehouse, was a pale girl with differently coloured with her right eye being pink and left eye being brown. Her hair was divided into two different colours, with the left portion of her hair being pink, and with the right portion of her being wore a white cropped wide, broad tailed jacket with a pink interior, collar, a single pink button and large pink cuffs. She wears brown pants with a dark belt that has a gray buckle and an additional narrow belt under it. Under her jacket is a brown corset, curved in the middle and at the bottom, exposing her hips. She also wears a multitude of black beaded necklaces, which hang haphazardly around her neck. She also wears black and white spat styled under the knee boots alongside black gloves. This was Neo, Roman's sadistic little sidekick…or is it side-chick?

What!? I don't know what goes on in their private lives!

One thing I don't even want to do right now, is mess with Neo. She's the definition of small, but mighty! She took down Yang like she was nothing, so what chance do I have against her?

"But if she's here…then where's that moustache twirling-?" I began, but only to have my question answered as my eyes saw the dead body of the boss guy, laying in the middle of the room, dead.

I think it's best to not pick a fight against her, so I retracted the blade back into the gauntlet as I began to process my options on what to do. Okay, so all I have to do is sneak in, take my scroll off of his dead body, and make it out without Neo noticing. And remember what Professor Grenne told you, keep to the shadows and watch your footing. But just as luck would have it, Neo was flipping through a black scroll…the same colour as mine. "Just my luck…" I muttered to myself

So, I have a few ideas on how I can get my scroll back, all of which involve a high possibility of death. But if I do say the magic word, then maybe I can get out of this to see another day.

"Alright, here goes nothing." I muttered to myself. "Hey!" I shouted, causing Neo to raise her head to face me. "I think you have something that belongs to me!"

"…" Neo raised one of her eyebrows before looking down at the scroll in her hands. After several seconds, Neo raised her head and waved my scroll up in the air.

"Yeah, that's it! A moustache twirling guy took it from me when I wasn't looking. May I please have it back?" I asked

And there's the magic word I used. Saying it will make good things happen, just like keeping my life.

"…" Neo looked at the scroll in her hands then back at me. She shrugged as she hopped out of her seat and was walking towards my direction.

...Wait, seriously?

I slowly started to walk over to Neo, but ket my guard up just incase she might be planning something. She is known for pulling tricks after all. But once we both closed the gap, Neo held my scroll outwards.

Huh, I guess this went better than I-.

Thought just as I went to grab my scroll, Neo immediately shattered into tiny pieces.

"What the-!?" I shouted, as I spun my head around. Sure enough, Neo was right behind me with my scroll in her hand, waving it in a teasing manor. "Okay, ha, ha, very funny." I said as I walked in the other direction towards Neo.

But just as before, Neo shattered into tiny pieces just as I was about to make contact with my scroll. I turned behind me once more to see Neo continuously waved my scroll with a mischievous smirk on her face as she was trying to challenge me.

"Seriously, I do need to get going." I said as I attempted to grab my scroll. But just as before, she shattered like glass. But instead of just appearing behind me, I felt her kick me to the ground. "Gah!" I gasped. As I got up. Neo landed behind from where I was laying down, turned, and stuck her tongue outwards.

Oh, so that's how you want to play…

I got to my feet and quickly charged towards the girl once more, but just like the three other times, she dodged each of my attack by sidestepping, using her semblance to shatter like glass, all the while mocking me. I continued to do the same thing over and over again. To be honest, I'm not sure how much time has passed, all that I know is that I've been doing this for a while. The longer I was doing this, my breaths were starting to get heavy while Neo wasn't even breaking a sweat. In a way, this reminds me of my spar with Ozpin this morning.

What was it that he said again?: "Which is why for the future of our training sessions, you should focus on the timing of your attacks and to be aware of any openings, as well as tapping into the power the gauntlet holds." I remembered him saying.

Actually now thinking about it, the gauntlet's jewel didn't even glow once this entire time. Not only that, Neo has only been attacking from behind this entire time. All I need is one good charged punch…but won't the impact break my arm, just like what happened with the Ursa Major?

.

No, at least I don't think so. I think the reason my arm shattered was because I had already built up three charges and used them all at once. But what if I only used a single charge? Will my arm be intact? I guess we'll find out. So, I closed my eyes took in a deep breath and began to focus on the gauntlet. Soon after, I saw a feint red glow through my closed eye lids. I opened my eyes to see that the gauntlet's jewel was now glowing, before quickly diminishing as soon as it appeared.

"So, that's how you work, huh? Alright, let's see what you can do." I muttered, as I wiped he sweat off of my forehead.

I ran towards Neo once more, reeling my left fist back as I quickly closed the gap between us. But just as before, Neo shattered like glass as my left fist made contact with her body. Quickly anticipating her next attack, I quickly turned around and reeled my right arm back. You could only imagine the look on her face once I turned around to face her.

"Got you." I said, as I slammed my right fist into her gut, and due to the sheer force of a single charge stored in the gauntlet, Neo was sent flying backwards and crashing into a crate.

As my arm made contact with her, I felt an excruciating pain coming from my right arm. I quickly clenched my arm in pain, but also noticing that the pain itself wasn't as bad from what I received from the Emerald Forest. But what stood out was that I could still move my arm, even if it did cause pain afterwards. My arm was still in-tact, but was heavily bruised.

"…Holy s-I did it! I actually did it! I actually landed a hit on her! And my arm is till intact, ha ha!" I cheered

But before I could continue, I could hear a series of wooden board shift and crashing to the ground. Neo slowly got back to her feet, pushing away the wooden rubble with a serious look on her face.

…Well fuck.

But I couldn't help but notice that Neo was actually struggling to get back to her feet. But now that I think about it, Neo's fighting style consists of dodging and using her opponents momentum against them. And probably because of this, Neo hasn't taken as many hits as much as she dodges them. To simply put it, she can dish it out, but can't take it. But eventually after a minute, Neo fully stood up and started to slowly walk towards my direction with her umbrella in hand. I prepared myself for any other tricks that Neo may throw at me; occasionally, I glanced behind me just in-case. But what I wasn't expecting waw for Neo throw my scrolls back at me

"What the-!?" I said, as I stumbled to catch my scroll.

Though as I caught my scroll, I saw that I had two notifications on the messages app. As I opened the icon, I noticed that there was a second unknown contact that was just under Ozpin's contact. I opened the second unknown contact and it hd the message: "I like you. You'll be the one to entertain me for when I get bored."

Wait, is this Neo!? When did she have the time to do all of this!? Was it when she was dodging me!?

"…Huh?" I asked,

A small smirk crept up Neo's face. But before I could question her further, she turned around and started to walk away

"Wait, hold on a second!" I called out

But it was no use. By the time I finished that sentence, Neo shattered like glass, she was already gone. At least I think she's gone. Great, Ozpin tells you to go out to Vale, have some fun, maybe share a few laughs, and make some new friends. And I did one of those things, but probably in a bad way as I caught the attention of the wright hand woman of the biggest crime boss in all of Vale! It hasn't even been a month and I'm already getting myself knee deep in cow crap.

Wait, hold on a minute, I never really thought about this before, but this may actually work out for me! I did say to get some potential allies, and not all of them need to be Sacred Arm users. If I could get Roman and Neo to switch sides, then I would have two powerful allies that have connections all across the criminal underworld. I mean sure, one of them has a questionable sanity, but as long as she doesn't kill any of my friends and future friends, then it won't be so bad…right?

"Who am I kidding, I'm taking a big risk doing this." I muttered to myself, as I looked at the time on my scroll to see that it now read 3:00 PM. "Damn, I've been out here longer than I thought. I need to make it back before curfew, otherwise Goodwitch will-!"

"FREEZE! THIS IS THE VALE POLICE DEPARTMENT! WE HAVE THE BUILDING SURROUNDED! COME OUT WITH YOUR HANDS UP!" However, before I could actually move, the sound of sirens and what I think are police yelling could be heard from outside of the building.

"…Uh oh." I muttered to myself as I looked around for some form of another exit.

But no matter where I looked, there were lights shining through all of the windows in the warehouse! I was surrounded. I can't just hide in the shadows and sneak out. I could try hiding in one of the many crates, but all of them look like that they're nailed shut! So even if I did pry one open and jump in, the police would know where I am just by looking at one of the crates! Wait, there might be a super-secret-exit here, it is some kind of mob-bass after all. But where do I find it, if there really is one?

"Uh…where the hell am I supposed to-!?" I began. But I quickly felt something sprung from my back and made me stumble forwards. I thought it was a police officer trying to tackle me to the ground. I turned around to see a feint shadow just moved the opposite to where I was turning.

"What the-!?" I tried to say, but cut myself off when I saw two large shapes sprouting from my back. As I took note on what was sprouting from my back, realizing that it was a pair of large wings that look like it could blanket a single person! Thought before I could question them, the massive pair of wings began to flap up and down, picking up wind and dust that covered a majority of the warehouses surface. I tried to see if I really was the one in control, but based on hoe they were moving, they had a mind of their own. Eventually, I could feel myself being tugged and lifted off of the ground. But after ten seconds, I was now at least twenty feet off of the ground…I WAS FLYING!

'HOW AM I DOING THIS!? WAIT, AM I DOING THIS!?' I mentally screamed to myself.

But before I could properly process the many questions that flew through my mind (no pun intended), I noticed that the wings stopped at a certain height and was just hovering. I looked around to see that I was now eye-level at the warehouses windows that were built near the base of the roof. Suddenly, I could feel the wings yank my body towards on of the many windows at near blinding speeds! The wings were steering my body to crash through the window.

"WAITWAITWAITWAIT!" I shouted, as I braced for the many glass shards to pierce my skin.

However, the wings stopped flapping and were folding over my body like some kind of protective shielding just as my body crashed through the glass. As the wings forced us outside of the warehouse, I could see the various police officers and cars that surrounded the building. Some of them brought their arms up or took cover under their cars to protect themselves from the shattered glass. The wings unwrapped themselves from my body as they picked up even more height, no longer being restricted by being in cramped in indoor spaces. As the wings carried myself towards a more safer distance and location, I could hear various officers shouting but were muffled by the constant sound of gunfire that echoed in the air that became even quieter as the wings flew farther from the warehouse.

The wings began to flap even higher and higher with each flap. My heart was racing so fast that anyone could confuse it like the beating of a drum. My legs started to immediately crossved over themselves and started to shake and tremble.

"H-HEY PUT ME DOWN!" I yelled out " I SAID PUT ME DOWN, NOW!" I yelled out, as I began to thrash my body around.

But after several minutes of thrashing and yelling, it soon got to a point where I couldn't lift my arms and legs. And to the point where my yelling became nothing more than weak gasps for air was the only thing to escape from my lungs.

"P-Please…just put me down…please…" I whispered out as I closed my eyes. I felt something cold and wet trail down my cheek. I was crying…

The City of Vale, Western District, Warehouse | September 14, 20XX | 4:15 PM | Day 14/365 | (3rd Person POV)

"Where the heel did she run off to now?" A man muttered to himself, sitting in his chair and waiting for his right-hand to show up.

The man in question was a pale one with slanted, dark-green eyes and bright, long, orange hair, with long bangs covering his right eye. Black eyeliner traced his visible left eye. He wore a red-lined white suit with long black pants and black shoes. His accessories included a small gray scarf, black gloves with buckled sleeves, and a black bowler hat with a small feather tucked into its red band. This man was Roman Torchwick, one of the biggest crime bosses in all of Vale.

"How long does it take to take out some stupid, moustache-twirling gang leader?" Roman sighed to himself. But before he was about to head out to look for her, Neo opened the doors to the warehouse they took home in and walked in "Well, look who finally decided to show up!"

Neo rolled her eyes and took out her scroll to type her response "Can it old man."

"First of all, I'm not old. And second, I told out newest associates that my right-hand and I would be at the meeting tonight. So how exactly do you think they reacted when I showed up without my right-hand?" Roman asked

"Did you make the deal?" Neo typed

"Yeah, but-." Roman began.

Neo cut him off with a text "Then quit being so dramatic."

Roman sighed "Hah, so what took you so long?"

"I ran into some complications." Neo said.

Roman pinched his temples "Please tell me you didn't get caught by the cops."

"Jeez, have a little more faith in me than that." Neo typed in faked offense

"Then what happened?" He asked.

"I had some time to kill, so I decided to have a little...fun before I came back." Neo said.

"Define fun because with you, your definition can vary." Roman said.

"I was just toying with some boy for a bit, though it turned out he's quite the interesting one." Neo said.

"What's that supposed to mean?" He asked.

"It means that he had some sort of...gauntlet on him that glowed." Neo said "I don't know what weapon that was, but let me tell you that thing packs a punch!"

"...Wait wait wait wait...someone was actually able to hit you?" Roman asked.

"I know! How can I pass up an opportunity like that?! Finally, a decent challenge!" Neo typed, while cheering inside

"...Alright, just make sure you don't bite off more than you can chew." Roman said.

"I'll be fine." She said as she stretched her arms out. "Well, if our new clients are gone then I'm gonna turn in for the night."

"Alright. Good night, Neo." Roman said.

"Night, Roman." Neo said.

Outskirts of Beacon Academy | September 14, 20XX | 6:30 PM | Day 14/365| (My POV)

I don't even know how much time has passed since that point, I didn't even check my scroll to see how much time had passed. All tat I did this entire time was keeping my eyes closed, covering me face with my hands, curled up into a ball mid-air, and started to pray to whatever god I could think of. All I could feel at the moment was the weak cold breeze of air brush up against my skin, and whenever I tried to relax one of my legs, I instinctively pulled it back up, trying to forget that I was high in the sky.

But, after what felt like hours to me, I felt the cold breeze of wind suddenly become stronger and I would feel the wing curving downwards. I slowly lowered my hands from my face and slowly opened my eyes to see where exactly where the wings were taking me; back towards the academy, towards Beacon. Even though I saw that we were slowly descending, it didn't make me feel any better. Even by the time I felt my shoes touch the grass-covered ground, it also didn't make me feel any better; it almost felt like I felt empty inside, like my very soul just exited from my body.

I could feel the silhouette-wings start to close and retract back into my back, the gauntlet flashing back into arm…and I just stood where I landed with my legs shaking, not even taking a step or even ushering a word. Eventually, I gave in to my weakened legs, sat down against a nearby tree and buried my head in between my legs. I tired to regain my composure, tried to calm myself down, but no matter what I did, nothing seemed to work. I had experienced this same kind of fear before, when I was running from the bombs…and when I was running from the Beowolf.

Ever since I was little…well, littler…I have a deep fear of heights. And before anyone says any wisecracks about how I "flew" in a Bullhead, those times were different. Being in an aircraft made me feel secure and the jump into the Emerald Forest during the hunt wasn't even that high. These wings on the other hand, didn't make me feel secure and we were probably thousands of feet off of the ground!

I know I have to get used to this, to stand up to my fears, considering that I'm training physically and mentally to become a Huntsman. But how the hell can I stand up to something or someone as powerful as that Grimm Queen when I can't even stand up to my own personal fear; high places! I know I said that i was going to kill Cinder during the Fall…but when the time comes…will I have what it takes to actually kill her? Ugh! I'm doing the thing again! Whenever something scary happens, I always seem to doubt and question myself!

"You know what, I'm just going back to my dorm and go to bed!" I muttered to myself, as I slowly got back to my feet. "So much has happened and I still can't process it all when I'm all shaken like this…" I said, as I walked back towards the academy, and towards my dorm.

Journal Entry #2

So yeah...today was...eventful...actually, that's putting it very lightly.

First, I was punhed in the gut by Yatsuhashi. Second, I met Roman's right hand…and lived, while also getting on her good side (I hope). And third, I sprung wings from my back and flied all the way back to Beacon. And that is something I hope that I'll never do ever again.

When I got back to my dorm, I was drained of everything. I barely even had enough energy in me to write this log. But anyways, with any luck, I may be able to switch Neo and Roman over to our side. Some may question if getting on the good side of criminals is a good idea, but it's like a soon to be dead woman said: "It's not about overpowering your enemy, it's about taking away what power they have."

And that is just what I'll do.
