November 5, 20XX, Day 65/365

So it's been about two weeks since I fought Mercury, and since he and I decided we would enter the Grand Tournament, we've been discussing on potential opponents that would be in the Grand Tournament and how we would be able to counter them.

But our main goal is to have our rematch in the finals of the Grand Tournament...this time with no restrictions, no reserves, and defiantly no interruptions

As for Mercury himself, he's a pretty carefree guy. he even says it's nice to have a friend who knows how to joke around AND how to take a joke. But now that I think about it...me and him aren't that different from one another...maybe that's why I liked him so much in the show...but he does say I swear A LOT more than he does

Grimm Studies

Anyways, onto more of the creatures of Grimm that roam this world. Today we are focusing on the more larger types of Grimm. I guess you can say that they're Kaiju-sized

First, there's the Wyvern, a Grimm that is so rare that even with records, some doubt about their current existence. But considering one broke out of Mountain Glenn in Volume Three...yeah, might want update those records. What I do know about them is that they're adapt flyers, but they also have a unique ability to spawn lesser Grimm by excreting a black liquid from their skin

It will take a lot more than just a few Huntsman and Huntresses to take it down. Not only do you have to focus on the massive dragon over your head, but you also have to focus on the Grimm that the dragon spawns. But...if playing RPG's have told me, is that you have to focus on the little guys before taking about the big one...and even that's a challenge!

Next, we have is the Sea Feilong. A serpent/dragon-type Grimm that lives in deeper water. It's main body is incredibly durable and is strong enough to shatter rock , despite it's enormous size, it is very quick and agile in the water...and surprisongly...in the air. Apparently it has a set of wings that hides in it's large fin on it's back.

Though it's greatest weapon, is the lightning it shoots from its mouth. A direct hit from this blast is capable of shattering a Hunters aura in an instant. Because of this, captains tend to hire more than four Huntsman or Huntresses when traveling out to sea

And finally, we have the Leviathan, another Grimm that lives in deeper water. They can range from fifty-to-sixty meters in height, and like the Sea Feilong, it can also fire a weapon from it's moth in the form of electric fire that is powerful enough of blasting through Atlas force-field technology

And with it being a deep-water Grimm, it formed thick armour plating to protect it from the sheer pressure of the ocean floor, making it resistant to missile fire.

So...there goes Tokyo...well...Kingdom in this case

History

That's about it for Grimm Studies. Let's move on to Remnant History. Let's talk about Mistral.

Mistral is located on the continent of Anima, the second-largest landmass in Remnant. Mistral controls the most territory of all four Kingdoms, encompassing a wide range of ecosystems and many diverse cultures. The main city of Mistral takes pride in their contribution to theater, fashion, architecture, art; you name it and Mistral will probably have it. In terms of looks, just think of Japan and all of its palaces and that's basically what Mistral looks like.

Some of the terrain includes steep wind-carved cliffs, where the region was first settled. The area to the west of Mistral is filled with swamps where small human villages are known to exist, though it can be difficult to traverse due to the presence of Grimm.

Surrounding the main city is the city of Wind Path to its north and Kuchinashi to its south. The major port city of Argus is far to the northwest. Mistral is also home to the Mistral Trade Route. Argus acts as the major trading centre between the continents of Anima and Solitas. It is one of the largest non-capital cities in all of Remnant.

Because it encompasses such a large area, Mistral has a very diverse range of lifestyles and cultures within its borders. Mistral's people have built their culture and technology around the geography and natural resources of the continent. All of Mistral's people are commonly linked by their respect for nature, particularly the sea and sky. Notably, Mistral has the most spices of any kingdom in Remnant.

Mistral's populace is divided into two distinct classes. The upper classes of Mistral are world-renowned for their contributions to high society, such as architecture, theater and fashion.

The lower classes are equally well known for other reasons However, the lower classes are of considerable ill-repute, composed of unsavory characters like thieves and assassins from all across Remnant who have come to Mistral to remain undetected. Such organizations include one called the "Spider's-Web", and is home to various crime families in Mistral

Mistral is also home to the largest black market in Remnant, where the services of assassins and even corrupt Huntsmen can be bought in the Kingdom if one has the funds to do so. They called it "The City Of Thieves", the biggest black market in all of Remnant

That was at the time of the Great War. During this time, there were a group of people who didn't exactly agree with Mistral's decisions with the Great War.

So they decided to make their own City in the underground of Mistral. Mistral wasn't happy with their decision and decided to take action after a year since it's development. They sent their best troops down into the City to take control of the city. This sparked the "Mistral Revolution."

It wasn't a very long one, considering that Mistral already had their hands full with the Great War, and now they were trying to take control of an entire leader of the city led the revolution, and was half of, if not most of the reason why they won

He was able to kill a lot of the different Captains that were sent to take control of the city with the Sacred Array "Dimension Array", a weapon that can literally reflect attacks with it's mist! It can also transport objects anywhere in the world, but it is said that it is responsible for breaking in the most secure vaults in the world

Eventually, Mistral decided it was best to focus their forces on Vale and Vacuo. The Mistral Revolution was finally over, and the city of thieves was entirely independent of Mistral's people wonder how this city wasn't plundered into chaos, well it's all because of one unspoken rule in the city of thieves.

"Everyone inside these walls is to be considered family. To go against that is like going against the city itself."To put it into perspective, no one could steal from anyone or kill anyone while they were inside of the city's walls.

City Of Vale (My POV)

Right now, I'm walking the busy streets of Vale to look for a job. Ozpin said that he wanted me to get my own money to spend rather than always relying on him all the time. As for how it's going...it's not going well

"I mean seriously! You think for a city this fucking big, you'd expect ONE place that needs hiring!" I yelled at no one in particular, but caught the attention of everyone in the area. I sighed and kept on walking

I tried basically going everywhere. At first, I wanted to apply for a restaurant-type job...but after two years of dealing with a bunch of assholes, both co-workers and customers...yeah, I'm not making that mistake again

So, I began to walk towards convenient stores, weapon shops, and even dust shops! And that even includes "Dust Till Dawn"...and not even they're hiring!

But...now that I think about it, the old man that runs the store...also works at a noodle house...does this guy own every single store in existence or something!?

I sighed as I checked off store number fifty. But just as I was about to give up on my search, my eyes fell upon a particular bookstore, it was Tukson's Book Trade. I shrugged as I walked towards the bookstore. But as I got closer, I saw a sign on the front that said "Help Wanted"

The thing is, Tukson is a minor character, basically just made to be killed off. If I'm here, I might as well try to save him...I'm working on changing Mercury so, it's worth a shot

"Huh...might as well be a good start if I'm going to change things" I muttered as I walked into the store. I looked around into the sotre, which was still filled to the brim with books, varying from light novels to heavy novels. I couldn't see anyone in sight, not even from behind the counter

"Maybe no one's here" I muttered.

But just as I was about to walk out, I heard a door open from behind the counter. I turned around to see a man with black, cleanly cut hair with noticeable side burns with hairy, muscular arms. He also wore short-sleeved quarter-zip burgundy and black shirt with a visible white undershirt "Welcome to Tukson's Book Trade, Home To Every Book Under The Sun"

...Nevermind

"Uh...I'm here for a job" I said, pointing at the sign behind the window

"Oh!" he sad in surprise

"Is something wrong?" I asked

"No, it's just...kids your age don't normally apply to...well...bookstores" Tukson said sheepishly "They usually apply to...video game or weapon stores"

.

.

.

"Well...if you don't want the help, then I'll-" I tried to say

Tukson cut me off "No! I was just shocked, that's all. If you want a job here, then I can give you one"

"Cool. When do I start?" I asked

"Well, first I have to interview you, for legal purposes" Tukson said as he walked behind the counter and took out a clipboard

"Alright" I said

"Okay, let's see..." He said as he flipped through the different papers on the clipboard. "Ah! Here it is." He said, taking out a pencil from the counter. "Okay, name and occupation?"

"Christian Pendragon, and student. Sort of." I answered.

Tukson cocked an eyebrow "Sort of?"

"It's...complicated. Lot's of personal stuff." I said.

"Alright, well I'll just put down student." Tukson decided "Okay, next question. Age, Height, and Weight?

I'm sixteen, soon to be seventeen in a few months. I'm 5'7 and 188 pounds" I said

"Okay, how good are you with talking people?" Tukson asked

Uh...I'm okay when it comes to talking with people. I mean sure, I had a job at a restaurant for two years...but there are moments where I wanted to give people a good taste of my mind...for a good reason of course.

"I'm...pretty good at it" I said, trying not to sound suspicious

Tukson moved his pen across the clipboard as he tore one of the papers out and placed it in a file "Alright, that seems to be about it"

"So, when do you want me to start?" I asked

Tukson got up "Well, normally, I would have you come in tomorrow, but I have some important business to attend to today" He said "So would you watch the shop until I get back"

I nodded "Yeah, sure"

"Great!" he said "I shouldn't be too long" Tukson said as he walked out of the shop

I started to look around the bookstore, trying to get a feel for where everything is. After looking around for a good fifteen minutes, I sat behind the counter and pulled out my scroll and began to play a Bubble Shooter knockoff called "Dust Shooter", but that got boring pretty quickly. As of right now, I was just sitting on the chair behind the counter, waiting for someone...anyone to come in.

.

.

.

.

.

"Okay, this is getting ridiculous! You'd think that at least ONE person would have come in by n-" I tried to say, but was cut off by the sound of the doorbell ringing as someone walked in "Oh...Welcome to Tukson's Book Trade, Home To Every Book Under The Sun. How may I help you?"

"Yes, do you have the book, The Thief and The Butcher?" He asked

"Yes we do, it's over there by the mystery section" I said, pointing at the mystery section of the store

"Thank you" he said as he walked over to the Mystery section "By the way, when you say "Home To Every Book Under The Sun", do you mean every book?"

"I believe it's in the catchphrase" I said

"But...I don't see War Of The Kings. This is false advertising!" He said

...Oh my god...not this again!

I sighed "Alright...walk out and I'greet you in a proper matter!" I said with an annoyed tone

"...Very well" He said as he walked out. After a few seconds, he walked back in

"Welcome to Tukson's Book Trade, "Home To ALMOST Every Book Under The Sun." I said in a blunt tone "Better!?"

"Much" he said "Now, I would like to purchase this book" He said, as he placed The Thief And The Butcher down on the counter. I then scanned the book and placed it in the bag, only to be stopped by the man "Aren't you going to ask me if I want hardcover or paperback?" He asked me in a smug tone.

...You know what...fuck it. I've been dealing with people like them for two years!...time for a little payback.

I then put a hardcover copy of the book in, scanned the book, took the man's card, slid it into the machine and placed both the paperback and hardcover book in front of them "There you go! Now you have both!" I said in a smug tone

His eyes widened out of shock "W-What!? You charged for for TWO of the same book!"

"Well, sir if you having a problem with our customer service, call 1-800-Kiss-My-Ass" I said, as the man grunted, picked up his bags and stormed out of the store

Two years of dealing with assholes like him...god damn does it feel good!

"But seriously...I should probably ask Tukson about changing the catchphrase" I said as sat back down, waiting for more customers

(Timeskip) City Of Vale, Tukson's Book Trade (My POV)

After a couple hours of watching the store, Tukson eventually came back. He gave me an early pay check for watching over the store and told me that I was free to leave, and I'll be starting tomorrow

I was about to head back towards Beacon for the day...that is until I got hungry...and despite all the restaurants around me...I couldn't find any place to eat. I'm not complaining, I mean its the more the merrier, but it's hard to narrow down what you want to eat in the first place with so many options

It also doesn't help that Vale didn't have most of the food that I had in Canada, considering Vale is an entirely different "province", so it having different cultures, food and traditions isn't too surprising

But...do you have any idea how heart breaking it is when you ask someone where you could get some Chinese food...only for them to say "What's a Chinese?"?.

.

.

.

.

"Man, I miss Mr. Gao's beef fried rice...those really did hit the spot!" I muttered

Now I know that they ween't trying to sound racist...but...yeah. So that means, no Mexican, Korean, Italian...not even Poutine! But, it wasn't all that bad, because Vale had the most basic foods that everyone, including myself ate

After a few minutes of walking, I eventually settled on a nearby food stand on the sidewalk

"Hello, what can I get for you?" The food stand owner said

I stood there for several seconds. They had hotdogs, mini-burgers and even fries "One hot dog please"

"Okay sit, your total is three-lien" The foodstand owner said

I reached into my pocket and pulled out my wallet, only for someone to grab it out of my hands "What the!? H-" I tired to say, but cut myself off when I got a good look at the thief in question

The thief was a young woman with medium-brown skin and dark red eyes. Her hair is a light mint green cut with a straight fringe and bangs, as well as two long locks on each side at the back. She wore two bronze-colored rings on her middle fingers as well as a pair of high-heeled shoes. She also wore white pants and brown chaps that end at her calves and an overlong belt, twice-wrapped.

This was Emerald Sustrai

.

.

.

I walked over to a nearby wall...and began to hit my head against it

"Sir! That woman just stole your wallet! Aren't you going to go after-" He tried to say, only to stop "...Why are you hitting your head against the wall?"

.

.

"No reason" I muttered as I ran after her

...Do you remember two weeks ago when I met mercury at the tournament and I was like "Who's next? Emerald?"...I WAS MAKING A FUCKING JOKE!

City Of Vale, Alleyway (3rd Person POV)

After several minties of running, Emerald eventually stopped at a nearby alleyway to catch a small breather

She cracked a small smirk "Heh, what an idiot. He didn't even see me coming" She said as she pulled out the boy's wallet and opened. Her eyes widened with shock and awe as she saw that his wallet was filled to the brim with different types of lien varying in different value "Damn, I hot the jackpot!" She cheered as she pulled a handful of Lien from the wallet

As long as she could do this, she could buy her ticket out of her job...not that she wanted to quit in the first place, its best to always to have a backup plan, just incase things go south

"Well, well, well. What do we have here?" A voice asked

Emerald sighed 'Great' She mentally said to herself as she turned to see a pair of two men, both of which were about six feet in height and wore a black t-shirt

However, there were a few key difference between them. The one on the right wore brown pants. While the one on the left had darker skin, had curly hair, wore blue pants. But most noticeably, he had a .44 Magnum Pistol

Emerald took in a deep breath 'Alright Emerald, just take out your weapon and scare them off. No need to get blood on you hands here...yet' She mentally said to herself as she sowly reached behind her 'Alright, I'm just going to take out my weapons and-' Her thought process cut off as she grabbed thin air where her weapon used to be. She then patted the empty space.

Emerald sighed heavily 'And I left my weapons back at the warehouse...great!' She mentally said, sarcastically. But she knew that she could take them on, even without her weapons...but Cinder's intructions still lingered in her mind 'During our stay here, I want you both to keep your hands clean. At least until we set the plan into motion'. Cinder's orders echoed throughout her mind

Her first thought was to run out of the alleyway, but both of the men were cutting her off and were slowly approaching her. One of the men grabbed her by one of her straps on her shirt and slammed her against the wall "Alright street rat, here's how it's going to work!" The man said, as he brought a pocket knife out and placed the blade near her throat "You're going to bring me one-hundred Lien each week, and half of what you steal. Do that, and I won't report you to the police"

'Bastards' Emerald thought to herself, gritting her teeth in anger at the two men

The two men noticed and gained a smirk "Looks like she doesn't want to cooperate"

The other laughed "Well I guess we should have a little fun with her" He said

Enerald's eyes widened in a mixture of shock and horror as she tried to wiggle herself free from the mens grasp

Another voice cut him off "Uh...excuse me?"

All of three of them turned their heads to the source of the unknown voice. Emerald's eyes widened to see the boy who she had just robbed at the food stand

"Oh look, it's the guy who just got robbed." The man holding Emerald said. "Sorry sir, we caught the thief red handed, we were just about to return the wallet back to you."

"Okay, how should I put this? Here's what happened." The boy said as he walked closer "She actually didn't steal the wallet you have there, it was a gift I gave to her."

.

.

.

'Wait...what!?' Emerald mentally screamed

(Three Minutes Ago) City Of Vale, Alleyway (My POV)

"God, fucking damn it! I can't believe I just got fucking robbed!" I shouted

For the last two minutes, I've been running across Downtown Vale in pursuit of Emerald who stole my fucking wallet! I asked random people if they saw a dark-skinned, green haired girl, and they pointed in the direction of a nearby allyeyway

I swear to God, when I get my hands on her, I'll-" I was about to say, but as I was about to run into the alleyway the man pointed me towards...I stopped myself at the sound of an unfamiliar voice

"Alright street rat, here's how it's going to work!" The man said, as he brought a pocket knife out and placed the blade near her throat "You're going to bring me one-hundred Lien each week, and half of what you steal. Do that, and I won't report you to the police"

.

.

Don't do it Christian...just walk away...you can get more money later...besides, karma's a bitch, she deserves this!. I mean, you already have Mercury and Neo...don't stuff yourself! You already have a full plate!

I turned around the opposite direction of the alleyway.

"Well I guess we should have a little fun with her" The man suggested

As I heard that...my heart suddenly dropped. I mean sure I did say she deserved what was coming to her...but god damn that crosses a line!

I sighed as I suddenly turned back towards the alleyway, I tuned towards a nearby trashcan and fished out an old soda bottle. I saw Emerald struggling to get free from one of the guys that was holding her by her shirt while the other guy had a gun in his hand

Ugh! Why is it every time I'm in Vale, I encounter a bad guy!? Why can't I get someone sweet like Yang or Ruby!?

'Well...here goes nothing' I mentally prepared myself "Uh...excuse me?" I said to the three of them, causing all of them to turn towards me

"Oh, look it's the guy who just got robbed" The man holding Emerald said

"Sorry sir, we caught the thief red handed, we were just about to return the wallet back to you" The other guy lied

...I'm no wizard, but my horseshit meter is going through the roof and all the way to the moon!

Okay...Christian...think of something...anything!

.

.

.

"Okay, how should I put this? Here's what happened." I said as I walked closer "She actually didn't steal the wallet you have there, it was a gift I gave to her."

City Of Vale, Alleyway (3rd Person POV)

'Why the hell is this guy helping me!?' Emerald mentally screamed 'I just robbed him!'

"A gift you say?" The man holding Emerald said

"Yeah, you see...me and her are actually good friends" Christian tried to lie "And today happens to be her birthday, so...I gave her some Lien to buy herself something. But, I guess she's been impatient"

"A good friend you say?" The man asked

"Yep! So, may you please return my wallet and her, please?" Christian asked

The man then threw Emerald to the ground, walked towards the boy and placed a hand on his shoulder "Then, why don't you tell me what your friends name is?"

"Uh..." Christian stumbled

"What's the matter kid? Cat got your tongue?" The man asked "Then...here's a present for ya!" The man shouted as he punched Christian across the check, knocking him to the ground "That is what you get for messing with things you don't be-" He tried to say

But he was cut off when Christian picked himself off of the ground. The man chuckled as he cracked his knuckles "Listen here kid and listen well, I-" He tried to say, but he didn't have time to finish as the boy punched him in the face, cracking his nose and knocked him out

"Well...I'm listening" Christian said, cracking his knuckles

The man net to him then pointed a gun towards his head "You made the wrong move, asshole!"

"Okay, I don't have time for this" Christian said "So why don't you-" He tried to say, only for the man to pull the trigger, the bullet striking the boy in the head

'Oh, shit!' Emerald mentally screamed

The man smiled victoriously, only for the kid to rub his forehead while clenching his fist in pain. Aura is used to block deadly attacks and heal minor wounds...sadly it doesn't do anything to numb pain "Alright...be that way" Christian clenched through his teeth as he pulled a small soda bottle from his pocket

But before the man could fire another shot, the bottle in Christian's hand began to emit blue sparks, the bottle began to shake as he pointed the top of the bottle towards the man. All of a sudden, the cap from the bottle flew off and went straight towards he mans trigger finger, shattering it

The man screamed, as he dropped the gun and held his finger in pain "You will pay for that you meddling-" But he was quickly silenced as the boy threw the bottle at the man, causing the bottle to explode on impact, knocking the man out, covering him in broken glass and soda

"Really..."meddling"? Come on, this isn't a cartoon!" Christian said 'Well...it is, but they don't know that!' He mentally said to himself as he turned towards Emerald "I believe you have something that belongs to me"

City Of Vale, Alleyway (My POV)

...That went better than expected

I turned towards Emerald "I believe you have something that belongs to me"

Emerald looked reluctant at first, but sighed in defeat as she handed me back my wallet

"With ALL the cash, please" I said, making Emerald groan as she took out the Lien from her pocket and handed it to me "Now...why the hell did you cause this much trouble for a wallet in the first place?" I asked

Emerald was about to respond, until I heard a slight gurgle sound...coming from her

"Oh...that's why" I said, causing Emerald to kick the ground in embarrassment "You know, if you wanted food, you could've just asked, instead of taking my wallet" I said

Emerald looked at me with a shocked expression "Wait!? Why!? Why did you help me!? I just robbed you!"

.

.

"Well...if you don't want the free food, then I'll be on my w-" I tried to say

Emerald cut me off "Wait! I was just curious! Most people on't offer the person who just robbed them a meal!"

I chuckled "Lady, you're going to learn very quickly that I am not most people"

"Hmm..." Emerald pondered, but shrugged "Well, thanks for the offer. By the way, my name's Emerald, Emerald Sustrai" She introduced as we walked out of the alleyway

"Name's Christian, Christian Pendragon" I said

So, how did you do that?" Emerald asked

"I...guess it's all in the wrist." I said

"Not that!" Emerald said "How did you break a mans finger with a soda bottle!?"

"Oh you mean that?" I asked, earning a nod from Emerald "It's my semblance...well, only a small part of it"

"What does it do?" She asked

I really shouldn't tell her, well considering she is one of the many people that brought the downfall of Beacon

.

.

Eh...what the hell? I'm not that much of a threat...well, not yet anyway

"Well, I can give a power boost to any non-organic object" I said

"Uh...what?" She asked

I sighed "Do...you have a bottle or something?"

Emerald looked around before setting her eyes on a nearby booth that was selling drinks. She walked right up to it, went up to the cashier and swiped a soda bottle without him noticing "Here" She said ash she handed the bottle to me

"Do you always steal things without a second thought?" I asked

"Yes" Emerald said

Well...at least she's honest

"So, you know how if you shake a soda hard enough, the liquid will explode out of the bottle?" I asked

"Yeah" Emerald said

"Well, it does that..." I trailed off as I activated the Buster Enchantment. Suddenly, blue sparks began to surround the bottle, causing it to shake "Only, it's instant..." I trailed off as the cap on the bottle flew out, along with the soda, creating a small fountain in my hand "And it's more pressurized"

Emerald whistled as she began to look around, her eyes eventually setting on a nearby fruit stand

"Uh...what are you doing?" I asked

Emerald walked up to the stand, and snatched a banana "Can you do it with this?" She asked, referring to the banana in her hand

"Only with NON organic material" I clarified

Emerald rolled her eyes "It's the tree that's organic, not the banana itself"

"I don't think that's how it works" I said

Emerald sighed "Just use your semblance on it"

I sighed as I took the banana from her hand "Fine, but din't think-" I tired to say, only for the banana to shoot out of it's peel and struck me in the face, covering it with what remained of the banana.

.

.

Emerald was holding her hands against her mouth as her face turned red, trying her best not to laugh

"Oh funny, ha, ha, ha" I bluntly said as I wiped the remains of the banana off my face

"I try" Emerald said

I sighed "So...have you seen anywhere you like?"

"Hmm..." Emerald hummed as she looked around

That reminds me, who were those guys anyway? I mean sure, from their bad hair, cocky attitudes, and considering one pulled a gun on me...I'm gonna assume that they're part of some sort of gang.

Well, whoever the hell they were, I guess I showed them not to mess with me...wait...I shattered a guys finger! The police are bound to find out about this. Then that means...

"Oh, shit!" I shouted in a panicked tone

Emerald flinched, and whipped her head towards me "Jeez! What!?"

"I fucking lost my temper again! Peach is going to kill me" I shouted 'Then again...I guess it's better than Goodwitch...'

"Who is she? Is she your mom?" Emerald asked

"What!? No, she's my-" I tired to say, but cut myself off. Should I really tell her that I'm attending Beacon? That may make her suspicious of me...and that is the LAST thing I need at the moment "She's...my aunt"

"Close enough" Emerald said

"Shit! She's gonna chew me out when I get home!" I panicked

"Wait, you talk about her like she's your guardian? What about your folks?" emerald asked

"Well...there not exactly...around anymore" I said

"Oh..." Emerald said, before moving onward

Okay...it looks like she bought it. But in all seriousness, Peach is gonna dissect me if she finds out about this!...Wait...IF she finds out. All I have to do is stay calm, and keep this whole situation under wr-

*rumble* Thought before I could do anything else, I felt my scroll rumble in my pocket. I took it out and my heart dropped when i saw Peach's name on screen "...Fuck" I said

"Oh, busted!" emerald said in a teasing tone

"Yeah, I don't think she'll find out that-" I tired to say

But as I answered the call, I was met with the voice of an irritated Peach "Would you mind telling me why I'm getting a call from the polce that two men are in the hospital because one has a broken jaw and the other has a finger missing!?"

...Fuck

"Uh...why do you assume that it was me?" I asked nervously

"I don't know, do you know anyone else who can remove a mans finger with a soda cap?" Peach asked

"Well...to be fair, one did pull a gun on me, so..." I trailed off

"Meet me in my office" Peach said as she hung up

I sighed as I put my scroll in my pocket...is it too late to join Cinder? Then again, I guess Peach is better than Goodwitch

"Hey" Emerald said, breaking me from my trance

"Yeah?" I asked

Emerald simply pointed towards an expensive-looking restaurant just across the street...

.

.

.

I've seen enough fancy places back in Quebec to tell what's fancy and what isn't "...Isn't that a place that robs people due to how expensive the food is?" I asked

Emerald nodded "Expensive, but REALLY good...as they say"

.

.

"Yeah...no" I said, causing Emerald to nod her head "No! There is no way in hell I'm going to restaurant that turns rich people into broke people!"

"My mom always said...that everyone has their reason, their own story" I said

(Timeskip) City Of Vale, Restaurant (My POV)

So...we went to the restaurant that turns rich people into broke people. Currently, we both had ordered sushi rolls and were sitting across from one anotheR. I mean sure, it's alright to treat yourself once in a while...but I'm treating for two people, including myself

"I thought I said to go somewhere that ISN't too expensive" I said to her as I took a bite out of a sushi roll. Though I can't complain, this is actually really good! Despite it being mostly raw fish

"You said TRY" Emerald said as she took a bit our of her sushi roll "Anyway, you didn't answer my question back in the alley"

"And which one is that?" I asked, taking another bite out of my sushi roll

She rolls her eyes at me and chuckles "Why did you help me back there?"

Oh, right

"Well, you did have my wallet" I said

"Okay, yeah, I had your wallet. but if you just wanted it back, you wouldn't had offered me food" Emerald pointed out

Okay...she has a point there. Why did I help her? I mean sure, she is working for Cinder who is aiming to destroy Beacon...so why did I do it...does it have to do what my mom said?

"Okay...you got me there" I said "...But I guess it what my mom said to me...before she kicked the bucket"

"And what's that?" Emerald asked

"Everyone has their own story" I said "To be honest, I never really understood that phrase until I was much older, but I think I do now. I think what she meant by that is that everyone has their reasons to do the things that they do"

Wait...am I getting soft? Not on my watch!

"Well, also because those guys really pissed me off and need to be teached a lesson!" I said

"Wait. That's it? They pissed you off." She said in bewilderment...but suddenly started to laugh

"H-Hey! What's so funny?" I asked

"I'm sorry! It's just-it's just, I didn't expect that to be the reason." She said in between breaths "Well, I haven't really said thanks yet, so yeah... Thanks for helping me, even though I robbed you."

"It was no problem. Let's eat." I said as I went to go and grab the other roll, only for me to grab thin air. I looked up to see Emerald chewing "...Did you eat my roll!?"

"I don't know what you're talking about." She said with a smirk.

I then hit my head against the table. She started to laugh again "You know what, you're alright."

...Of course I am

As I lifted my head up from the table, Emerald gave me a slip of paper wth her scroll number on it "I haven't laughed like that in a LONG time, here, as a thanks for the meal."

And let's add Emerald to the list! First we had Neo, then is was Mercury, and now Emerald! But, it's probably going to be hard to turn her against Cinder, considering she's most loyal to her...but hey, I guess it doesn't hurt to try

I pulled out a slip of paper, wrote my scroll number on it and handed it to her "Yeah, here's my number by the way"

"Thanks" Emerald said "Now where were w-" Emerald tried to say, but was cut off by the sound of her scroll going off. She pulled it out of her pocket "Oh, my boss wants to talk to me. I'll see you around." She said as she walked out of the restaurant.

"Yeah, see ya." I said, as I leaned back in my chair. The waiter that served our food walked over to my table and placed a receipt on it. I say back up and fished my wallet out of my pocket

Hmm, maybe this won't be as bad as I thought it would be, maybe I can actually redeem them, maybe-...My thought process was cut off as I looked into my wallet and noticed that half the lien was gone

.

.

.

I dropped my head on the table in disappointment, not of her...but of myself "God damn it, Emerald" I muttered

And here's the next chapter.

So, I realized I haven't made a bio-card for any of the characters. For now, here's one on the OC of the story and as we go on, I'll create more of them

Name: Christian Pendragon

Age: 16

Height: 5'7

Weight: 188 lbs

Affiliations: Beacon Academy

Weapon: Blue Dragon King's Gauntlet

One of the Ten Weapons Of Nicodemus, the gauntlet is equipped with a pop-up wrist sword that is capable of slicing through steel. It has the power to give a "power boost" every ten seconds to it's user. It can rather be used to increase the user's physical strength, or it can be used to charge a variety of enchantments. However, its down side that it requires a bit of time to charge it's immense power

The Dragon Spirit that resides in the gauntlet is able to manifest "Spirt-Dragon-Limbs" on the users body depending on the situation. They can range from claws, wings, even a tail

Buster Enchantment (Pawn): The user can give a small power boost to any non-organic object that he or she is holding. The user can also overload the enchantment, causing whatever he or she is holding to explode

Sprint Enchantment (Knight): ?

Blast Enchantment (Bishop): ?

Barrier Enchantment (Rook): ?

Enhance Enchantment (Queen): ?

Stasis Shatter: An ancient, forbidden technique. It is said that once it's activated, it can shake the very balance of this world. Hence the name Stasis Shatter
