November 20, 20XX Day 80/365
Grimm Studies
Since we're on the topic of Atlas, I might as well tell you what kind of Grimm that lurk in the frozen tundra. Other than Beowolves, Nevermore's and Manticores, Solitas is home to a variety of Grimm
First, we have are the Sabyrs, a species of Grimm that resemble Saber-Tooth Tigers. They tend to travel in packs and primarily use their massive teeth and claws to tear into their prey. There really isn't that much to say about them, they pretty much act like normal tigers
Apparently, there was a whole debacle where a pack of Sabyrs were transported to Anima by someone named Javi Pastel after he found a magic necklace. But it turns out, that necklace was a Sacred Array, not one of the ten weapons of Nicodemus, but still a powerful relic.
He used this Sacred Array to control the Sabyrs and killed his enemies with them. But soon after, they escaped and killed almost everyone that was under Pastel's Estate. The Sabyrs were eventually dealt with the combined efforts of Team's SAFR and SMMK.
Next, we have the Teryx, another dragon-like Grimm and a distant cousin to the Wyvern. They can vary in size, the smallest of which is as big as a Manta airship. They primarly used their massive claws and teeth when hunting, but what makes them a real threat is that like other dragons, they can also fly.
But, the Teryx is smaller and weaker than it's Wyvern counterpart, so all you need to do is to find a way to pin them down and finish them off like that
Then, we have the Megoliath's, a distant cousin to the Goliath's of Vale. Now unlike the Goliath's from Vale, the Megoliath's are bigger, stronger and much faster. They are incredibly durable, able to shrug off missile fire and can plow through buildings with ease. They are described as being very intelligent and some of the strongest Grimm that has appeared in recent years
But, Alpha Megoliath's are even worse, they're far more larger and durable than its counterparts and are highly resistant to heat, shown when a laser capable of cutting through a Bullhead couldn't even make a dent in it's armour
And then finally, we have the Centinel's, a species of Grimm that resemble giant centipedes. The Centinel can burrow through rock and stone with ease by rotating their sections like a drill. They can coil themselves around one another when attacking, and can spit a bright, green acid that can eat through steel
While they are not described as being "dangerous", they are very annoying to hunt down during bounty missions, considering they like to travel in sheer numbers and tend to travel underground
History
Solitas, the great frozen tundra of Remnant, and within it is possibly the most technological advanced kingdom in the world, the Kingdom of Atlas. Now there isn't a lot to talk about Atlas, considering we never seen it in the show, just tiny bits and pieces of it throughout the Volumes. But, let's at least get the basics out of the way
It all started when early settlers came to the snowy continent of Solitas to build a new civilization. But the continent's sheer cold, being able to kill a person within a matter of hours without heat or aura. That, combined with the new species of Grimm made making of life there extremely difficult. But thankfully, the settlers began to adapt to their new environment, using the icy mountains to protect themselves from the Grimm and began using Dust in tandem with their advanced technology.
Because of this, they developed new technology out of necessity and at a faster progression that the other Kingdoms in the world. Eventually, this Kingdom would become known as the Kingdom of Mantle. Their advancements in Dust application to their technology allowed the new built Kingdom to expand and devote moe territory to Dust mining and research, which includes their combat school, Alsuis Academy
But unfortunately, despite them having the superior technology, Mantle lost the Great War. And from the ashes came the Kingdom of Atlas, "the shining city in the clouds" as some call it. Their technology advanced within time, and eventually, Alsuis Academy was now replaced with Atlas Academy.
Their armies now became more strict when it came to order and was kept in line. This was because of one of Atlas's greatest generals by the name of Asia. When she stepped up, she managed to turn Atlas's army from a bunch of undisciplined, selfish, stuck-up assholes to the Great Army of Atlas that we know today. Not only was she a great drill sergeant, she was also one of the greatest fighters that Atlas has ever had.
She was the main reason that Atlas was known for its superior army, secured borders and high security. Unlike most of the other generals that were in the different kingdoms. She was said to wield a Sacred Array in the shape of a raiper, but any records of it were rather scratched or non-existent. She was also said to be the very first Headmaster of Atlas Academy.
City Of Vale, Vale Bullport (My POV)
Shortly after my first mission as a student...kinda, I was sent up to Ozpin's office where I presumed Ozpin wanted to know what occurred in the Emerald Forest. But it turns out, the real reason Ozpin called me up was because Peach was going on her nest Dust expedition in Atlas...and wanted to take me along with her
Now don't get me wrong, I don't mind the cold, considering I grew up north in Canada back on Earth. But this is the cold of Solitas and in-case you didn't know, without heat or projected aura, the sheer cold of Solitas will kill you in a matter of hours!
So, I had to spend a considerable amount of time with Coco before coming here. We had to go to different clothing stores to get the best winter coats, mittens, gloves, hats, scarfs and even earmuffs!
Currently, I was stadning in the front of the runway with Peach, waiting for our scheduled Airship to take us to Atlas. And that reminds me...
"Hey Peach, why are you exactly taking me to Atlas?" I asked
"Well, I was originally going by myself, but then I thought 'Hey! How about I bring Christian with me on my expedition'!" Peach said with a smile "It would be a great learning experience if you take part in one of Atlas's Dust Expeditions! Besides, form what you told me, you've never been anywhere outside your village or Vale!"
"Hmm" I hummed
"I...thought you would be more excited to go somewhere different..." Peach slightly gloomed
"What? No, I am! It's just, you've never invited me to go one of you many expeditions. But, what's so special about this one?" I asked
"Well, this mine in particular is said to house more Dust than the one Nicholas Schnee discovered!" Peach said enthusiastically "There's no telling how much Dust will be in this mine! Who knows, there might be a new element of Dust that we have yet to discover!"
"Huh, that does sound interesting" I said
"And the best part is that there will be a lot of miners that will get sick!" She said all-too-happily
.
.
Wait...
"Uh...how is that exactly...a good thing?" I asked her cautiously
Peach whipped her head towards me "Think about it! With all of those sick and ill workers, I can use the Dust from the mines to conduct some of my experiments! Think of the possibilities!" She said, as her eyes sparkled with anticipation
.
.
I...don't want to go on this trip anymore...help me
Peach cleared her throat "But, while we're in the mine, I would like you to bring your weapon"
"Why? I thought we were just going to dig up some Dust" I said
"Yes, well there are some Grimm that made their nests in different mines, which is why they require a few Huntsman and soldiers during their expeditions" Peach explained "It's why I'm rarely seen at Beacon, I'm always going on multiple expeditions, to various Dust mines across the world"
So THAT's why we've never seen her in the show!...But now that I think about it, wasn't she mentioned in the first Volume?
"That's also the other reason why I'm taking you with me. You'll never know when you'll be called to go on future expeditions that take placed throughout the kingdoms" Peach said, as she turned towards the distances "Oh! I think I can see the Airship in the distance!"
"Really?" I asked as I stared off towards the direction where peach was looking.
It had an arrow-shaped hull with two nacelles coming off its sides, most likely its engines. It also has several spines protruding from the engine supports. There were also several nozzles in between the spines, as well as on the bottom of the engine supports, most likely the main source of propulsion. Given its size, slow speed and lack of wings, it most likely used Gravity Dust to stay aloft.
As the Airship landed on the runway, the front doors opened to reveal a series of different Atlas soldiers.
Each one of them wore body armor that covers their upper bodies. It is a white-gray colour, with several different highlights along the helmet and arms depending on the individual. Their helmets cover their faces almost entirely, barring their mouths. Their pants are black, with some gray areas on them, and they have a belt with a few pouches, a handgun strapped to their hips and a sword in collapsed mode strapped to their lower backs along with rifles strapped across their backs. Each set of amour had different colour marks, with red, blue, yellow and green. Presumably used to represent ranks or assignments
"What's with the soldiers?" I asked
"Well, considering that this is a BIG expedition, there's bound to be some extra security. Just incase if we run into a horde of Grimm or even bandits" Peach said
"Makes sense" I said
One of the soliders walked over to Peach "Ms. Peach?"
Peach looked up "Hmm? Oh, yes, that's me"
"We're here to take you to Atlas, I assume that you finished all your preparations?" The soldier asked
"Yes" Peach said
The solider nodded "Great...but if you don't mind me asking, who's the kid?"
"Oh, him? He's coming with us on the expedition" Peach said as she patted my head "I've already informed General Ironwood"
"Oh, well okay, just make sure he doesn't cause any trouble." The soldier said as he walked back to the Airship.
*pat*
*pat*
*pat*
"Can you stop patting my head already!?" I yelled.
(Timeskip) (12 Hours Later) Atlas (My POV)
As soon as we boarded, me and Peach were placed in different sections on the plane, probably because of the tight security they have on this aircraft. After twelve, consecutive hours, I sighed as I got up and stretched. I mean, I have been sitting down for the last twelve hours, its bound to get very uncomfortable
But before I sat back down, I glanced towards a nearby window, and through the clouds, I saw the Kingdom Of Atlas in its entirely. That caught my attention really quickly, considering we actually never seen it in the show itself. As the clouds cleared, I saw the Kingdom of Atlas in its fully glory!
The entirety of the Kingdom was a floating land mass high above the ground, tethered to the ground by a series of cables, right neg to what I assume was Mantle. The landmass was surrounded by tall, pointed columns which act like Hard-Light as we flew over the Kingdom, I could see everything more clearly. Everywhere I looked were tall, metal buildings that glistened with light. Just think of Quebec, but far more technological advanced and brighter. And the way the city glistens under the night sky makes the scenery all the more beautiful to look at
It truly felt like I was stepping into an alien world...I'm already am in one but...you know what I mean!
But before I could continue sightseeing, I felt my scroll rumble in my pocket. I pulled out my scroll to see who was messaging me
"So, what do you think?" Peach texted
"About what?" I asked
"Atlas Academy" Peach texted "What do you think of it?"
I glanced back towards the window and attempted to look for Atlas Academy. After a few moments, I eventually found the Academy.
The Academy has a total of five towers, one large central tower and four side towers of varying heights that surround the main building. It also has a glass-viewing platform at te top of each tower. And due to it's enxtensive use of Dust, the academy has a blue tint to it
But despite that description...it was pretty underwhelming. I mean sure, it loos good, but I was expecting something a bit more high-tech and not a Military Institution
"Well...it's really underwhelming" I texted
"What do you mean?" Peach texted
"To be honest, the Academy looks more like a Military Institution rather than an actual Huntsman Academy" I explained "I was expecting something like a High-Tech Academy"
"Not surprising. A few years ago, the Headmaster of Atlas Academy, James Ironwood, decided to involve his students with a more military lifestyle" Peach texted
"But, why?" I texted
"He wants to encourage his students to join his special operatives force, the Ace-Ops" Peach texted
"Ah" I texted
"Well...what about the city of Atlas?" Peach texted
"It's beautiful. I've always had a major soft spot when it came to snow" I texted
I smiled. Back then in Quebec, winter was the happiest time of the year. No school and the constant snow that fell made for constant, and fun activities. Kids laughing as they hurled snowballs at one another, as others raced down the hills with sleds. I do remember when my mom took me out skiing when I was fourteen. I was scared at first, worried I might break an arm or a leg.
But after trying it out, I realized how much fun it really was, so I spent the whole time going up and down, skiing down the hill...that was a good memory. But...ever since the war, the constant bombings and war had produced so much heat, the snow that fell from the sky immediately melted. That ski trip, was the last time I ever saw snow on Earth
But before I could continue my thoughts, Peach texted me "Well then, I'm sure you'll love it here, though remember why we're here in the first place"
"Yeah, I know. Grab the Dust and go" I texted
"Well, there's more to it, but yes, we just need to get as much Dust as possible" Peach texted
But, before I texted Peach back, the sound of the intercom cut me off ["ATTENTION PASSENGERS, WE WILL BE ARRIVING AT ATLAS ACADEMY IN A FEW MINUTES"]
I got up and began to walk towards the door, where Peach was waiting "It's about time! was starting to get bored"
Peach chuckled "Yes, now before we go, put this on" She said, as she pulled out a white jacket, with black fur on the end of the sleeves and on the hoodie "It's bound to be cold out there"
"Thanks, but I already brought a jacket" I said
"Then...where is it?" Peach asked
I was about to answer...that is until I realized I packed it in my suitcase, along with the rest of my clothing "In...my bag..."
Peach chuckled as I grabbed the jacket she'd given me. After a few seconds, I was wearing the jacket that Peach had given me.
As we walked out of the air craft, we stepped onto the academy's docking bay. It consisted of four landing pads and flight of stairs leads from the pad level to the main entrance of the Hall.
As we walked up the stairs, I managed to see a bit more of the campus. The rear side of the academy had large pillars around the main building's wall, with various statues of soldiers carrying halberds standing guard in between the entrance gates. and above the gates was a large, glass window in the shape of an arrow pointed down
After a short walk, we made our way towards the Academy's main entrance and walked inside
(Timeskip) Atlas Academy (My POV)
As soon as we got off ot the aircraft, the soldiers escorted us to the Headmaster's office almost immediately. After a short walk and one long elevator ride, we stood in front of what I assumed was the Headmaster's office.
But before we even knocked, the door opened to us, revealing a woman who was wearing a white, military uniform with ascents of red blue, and yellow "The general will see you now" She said as she stepped aside, allowing us to walk into the Headmaster's office
The Headmaster's office is a circular room that featured dark blue metallics walls and windows. To the right of me was a small, opaque switch that was similar to the one at my job. The floor's of the office were shown to depict constellations in the form of golden stars.
But at the far end of the office, was a desk with a man sitting behind it. The man wore a white overcoat with a gray undercoat, black sweater, a red necktie, and a white glove on his right hand. His suit pants share the same color as his overcoat and are tucked into silver boots accented in gray. His hair was a slowly-graying black, while his eyebrows were a thick solid black.
This was James Ironwood, Headmaster of Atlas Academy and the General of the Atlesian Army
Ironwood gpt up from his desk and walked towards Peach "Ah, Vanessa! It's good to see you again"
"General" Peach said, slauting to him
James chuckled as he held his palm out "Please, drop the formalities. Call me James" He said, as his eyes trailed towards me "I see you brought one of your students with you. Any particular reason why?"
"Oh, well, I thought this would be a great way for him to learn about Dust and the different expeditions he'll take in the future" Peach explained
"Hmm..." Ironwood hummed as he walked towards me "I don't believe we've met yet. I'm General James Ironwood." He introduced himself as he held out his hand.
"Oh, uh, my name's Christian Pendragon. It's nice to meet you" I stumbled
"Oh! So you're the boy Ozpin's been teaching" Ironwood said
"Yeah, that's me" I said
Ironwood turned back towards Peach "I can see why you brought him here. I'm sure he'll be a great asset to our expedition" He said as he walked back towards his desk and pulled out a series of files and documents "These are crucial details we should be expecting when entering the mine"
Peach took the documents from the General's hands and began to skimm through them "I'll be sure to look over these tonight"
"Thank you" Ironwood said "And before we show you where both of you will be staying, there's one more thing I'd like to talk about"
"What is it?" Peach asked
"The heiress to the Schnee Dust Company will be joining us on tommorrow's expedition" Ironwood said
.
.
.
Can...you run that by me again?
"Oh! That's wonderful!" Peach said "But may I ask why is someone her age coming with us?"
"Ahem" I said
Peach turned back to me with a confused look as Ironwood pointed towards me
"Okay, okay I get it, but he's been training under Ozpin! OZPIN! He might as well be a Huntsman already!" Peach said
Ironwood chuckled "Alright, fair point. To answer your question, it was a special request from Jacque. He said that if his daughter is to take over the company, she has to know what to do, and what to expect"
"Okay, that makes sense" Peach said
So it is Weiss! Well, I met Blake yesterday...kinda and nw I'm meeting Weiss! it's about time I got to meet some of the main characters!
"Well then, you two better get some rest. I can tell that it's been a long trip for you and its going to be an even longer day tomorrow" Ironwood said
But as we turned around to walk out the door, we were stopped by Ironwood "Wait, Venessa"
"Yes?" Peach asked as she turned around
"You can go, but I would like to speak with Mr. Pendragon here, alone" Ironwood said
Uh...that...doesn't sound good
I felt a sudden contact on my shoulder. I looked up at Peach "I'll wait for you outside" She said as she walked out the door
As she walked out, only me and Ironwood were in the room. I mean sure, Ironwood does have a sense of good. But unfortunately he does have a major case of paranoia. And considering I had one of the Ten Weapons of Nicodemus, that's bound to set it off! Not only that, what if Ozpin told him where I really came from!?...Okay...now I sound paranoid!
.
.
"So...what do you need?" I asked nervously
"I'd like to talk to you about Ms. Schnee" Ironwood said
I mentally sighed in relief "What about her?"
"I would like you to guard her during the expedition tomorrow" Ironwood explained
"Why?" I asked
"She's the heiress to the Schnee Dust Company. That title alone makes her very important. While I don't doubt the combat skills of Ms. Schnee, I just want to make sure se's safe during our expedition. Most of our available Huntsman and Huntresses there will be guarding the miners and scientists, I want you to guard Ms. Schnee during the expedition" Ironwood explained
"So, you want me to be her bodyguard?" I said
"Yes" Ironwood said "I want you to be her bodyguard"
"Yeah, I'll do it" I said
"Now, I know you're eager to take part of the expedition, though this is a matter of utmost importan- wait what?" Ironwood asked.
"I said I'll do it." I said.
"Just like that?" He asked me.
"Yeah, just like that." I said.
.
.
.
"Well, that was easier than I thought it would be." Ironwood said.
"Is there anything else? Because I would really like to eat something that's not shitty airplane food" I said
Ironwood chuckled at my remark "Well, I'll try not to keep you too long. But I do have one request"
"Alright, what is it?" I asked
"I would like to see your gauntlet"
.
.
"What?" I asked
"Your gauntlet, may I see it?" Ironwood asked
"Uh...sure" I said, as I held out my arm. Then in a sudden flash of blue light, the gauntlet had formed on my arm. Ironwood then began to inspect the gauntlet. But he lightly grabbed it and pulled it slightly, pulling my arm as well "It's fused to my arm. I can't get it off"
"Sorry, I'm just curious that's all" Ironwood apologized, as he let go "Ozpin said that this was one of the Ten Weapons, the Blue Dragon Kings Gauntlet, Viserion. But, how do I know that this is the real thing?"
My response was for the blade to pop out of the gauntlet as I activated my Buster Enchantment "That's how" I said, as he reeled back a bit. He then went up and touched the blade. But as soon as he touched it, he reeled back as the energy on the blade burned through one of his fingers on his prosthetic hand
"Yeah...I don't really recommend you touch it" I said
"Amazing! So this really is one of the Ten Weapons, Viserion!" Ironwood said in awe "I've seen others before, but this-"
I cut him off "Wait...you've seen other Sacred Array users?"
Ironwood nodded "I have. But none of them were the initial ten. But, that's all I needed from you. I won't keep you here any longer, I'm sure you're tired and hungry."
"Well, I'm more tired than hungry" I said
"Well, it was a pleasure meeting you. I'll give you the specific details in the morning." Ironwood said.
"Yeah, see ya." I said as I walked out of his office.
As I did, I turned the corner and saw Peach "So, what did he want you for?"
"He just wanted to talk about the expedition" I said "And he want's me to guard We- Ms. Schnee for tomorrow's expedition" I said, catching myself
Please don't notice! Please don't notice! Please don't notice!
"Oh, wow!" Peach said "What an honour! It's not everyday you get to guard a meet someone as important as Ms. Schnee!"
Whew...thank god she didn't notice my slip up! God damn it, Christian, that mouth is going to getyou killed some day! Only Ozpin knows that I'm from another world and I can't afford to slip up!
"Yeah, a real honour" I said. Don't get me wrong, I do want to meet some of the main cast. But Wiess...I bet she's still has that attitude of hers...that is something I'm not looking forward too
Though before I could continue my thoughts, we heard two gurgling noises from the hallway
.
.
"Heh...I guess we're both pretty hungry after the long trip" Peach said
"That's an understatement...all they had were pretzels on that plane...and I bet they were stale" I said
"Well then let's go get some real food! I know this great restaurant from my last visit here." Peach said.
"Lead the way." I said as we began to walk towards the elevator.
Atlas Academy (3rd Person POV)
As the two were talking to one another, neither of them had noticed an Atlas guard from just around the corner, who just slo happened to be eavesdropping on theor conversation. The guard then pulled out his scroll and dialed a number
"Hello brother, I expect that you have the coordinates to the Dust supply" The mysterious voice said from the other end of the scroll.
"Yes brother, I'm sending them to you now." The guard said as he sent the coordinates to the mysterious man.
"Excellent, the lieutenant will be pleased with your results, brother" The man said.
"Another thing before you go." The guard stopped the man from hanging up "I just heard that one of the Schnee's will be present during the expedition."
The voice chuckled through the scroll "The lieutenant will be most pleased with your results. That will be all, brother. I will bring the information to the lieutenant, you report back to base."
"Yes, brother." The guard said as he cut off the connection and walked towards the stairs leading down.
November 21, 20XX, Day 81/365 (My POV)
"It's five in the fucking morning! I know Ironwood said that he would call me up early...but still!" I said, rubbing my eyes
After my small talk with Ironwood, concerning about the gauntlet and the fact that I'm going to be guarding Weiss during the expedition, me and Peach walked around the city of Atlas to find some place to eat, to eat ACTUAL food!
After that, we returned to the academy and took residence in one of the empty dorms...only for me to be woken up by the sound of my scroll going off...wait...how did Ironwood get a hold of my number anyway?
But before I could question that fact further, I eventually made it to Ironwoods office. I walked up to the door an knocked
"Come in" Ironwood said behind the door, as I opened it "Ah, Mr. Pendragon. Glad you could join us"
"Why the hell did you call me so early in the mo-...wait...us?" I asked, As I looked around the room, eventually seeing a familiar figure to the left of his desk
The figure is a pale-skinned young woman with pale blue eyes and long white hair that is pulled back into an off-center ponytail or braid on the right side and pinned with a silver, icicle-shaped tiara.
She wears a thigh-length strapless dress with a faint color gradation from white to pale blue at the hem. A small piece of black lace sits in the front of her neckline and the hem of the dress is scalloped and stitched to resemble snowflakes, with layers of white tulle under the skirt. Over this, she wears a bell-sleeved bolero with the same color gradation as her dress from shoulder to wrist, lined in red and with a ruffled collar. On the back of the bolero is the Schnee Crest.
She also wears a small apple pendant on a silver chain and thin, rectangular silver earrings. Her boots are white, wedged heeled, and higher at the back than the front. They have a small silver decoration across the top of the foot and are lined in red. A thin white sash is tied around her waist with a pouch attached to the back
This was Weiss Schnee, Heiress to the Schnee Dust Company
"Mr. Pendragon, allow me to introduce you to Weiss Schnee, the heiress to the Schnee Dust Company" Ironwood said
.
.
Well...if I wasn't awake before, I'm awake now!
"Ms. Schnee, this is Christian Pendragon, he will also be joining us on the expedition" Ironwood explained
"Hmm." Weiss looked at me, her eyes narrowed.
As she looked at me, I noticed that her left eye didn't have the scar yet. This must be before the concert then
"I was expecting better" Weiss said
It's five in the morning...cut me some slack
"Well, let's get down to business" Ironwood said as he sat back down in his chair "As you've already been informed, during this expedition, we've discovered a Dust mine thats even bigger than the one Nicolas Schnee discovered all those years ago. But because this is a new cavern, there are bounD to be powerful Grimm down there. That's why we need Huntsmen, to protect the miners and secure the mines. Once we get to the mines, you and the other Huntsman that will be joining in our expedition will be separated in groups and clear the Grimm out. After you've sone that, half of Huntsman will be guarding the miners while the other half will go around the mines and look for any remaining Grimm. Once we're done, I'll call the two of you on your scrolls." Ironwood briefed.
"Sounds simple enough" I said
"Now, are there any questions?" Ironwood asked. Weiss then raises her hand "Yes, what is it, Ms. Schnee?"
"Yes, how come I have to work with him?" Weiss asked, pointing at me
"Well, while I understand that you are fully capable of taking care of yourself, you are still not fully trained yet. Which is why I'm having Christian here go with you. Is there a problem with that, Ms. Schnee?" Ironwood asked.
"Well, he hardly looks like he's a Huntsman-in-training, let alone a fighter." Weiss said.
"Says the one wearing a dress" I said, earning a scowl from Weiss
"I guarantee you, Ms. Schnee, he is a capable fighter." Ironwood said.
.
.
"Whatever, just make sure he doesn't get in my way." Weiss said.
"He's right here you know and he can be spoken to" I said, earning another scowl from Weiss
"Hmph." Weiss then walked out of Ironwood's office, the doors slammed behind her
I know her attitude gets better in the future...but right now, I can't stand it.
But, my train of thought was cut of by Ironwood "I'm sorry for her attitude, she's just very cold towards strangers."
I sighed "It's alright. Anyways, when are we heading out?"
"We're just about ready to go now. All we need is to gather the Huntsmen." Ironwood said.
"Let's get going then." I said as I walked out of the door.
(Timeskip) Solitas, Tundra (My POV)
Shortly after gathering everyone, we headed towards the sire of the expedition, which happens to be in the reaches of the tundra. It took us a couples of hours of air and ground travel, considering we were stopped by the various Grimm that lived in the tundra such as Manticores, Beowolves, Nevermores, Teryx's and even Sabyrs. And of course, we were sent out there to deal with them.
But every time we stopped, Weiss was killing Grimm left and right, using the combined efforts of her glyphs and her rapier. It was pretty clear that she was telling Ironwood that she can take care of herself, or that she doesn't need anyone without actually telling him. However, whenever we crossed paths, she would give me the cold shoulder while scoffing...yeah, she really is a stuck-up bitch. If this keeps up during my time here, I'm gonna have to teach her some manners with the back of my right hand...yes, even with the gauntlet on.
But as we landed, we began to set up camp for the miners on the far side of the mountain, then we had to unload various equipment such as pickaxes, carts, lights and everything else that is crucial to mining, and then transport said equipment to the campsite.
After everything was set-up, we were told to meet Ironwood near the main entrance to the mines. And right in front of us, was a small projection of the mines inner caverns. Showcasing all the mines entrances along with possible tunnels and chamber
"Okay, now I'm sure everyone here knows our current mission and what your objectives are" Ironwood said "But in case you ween't listening, I'm going to go over it one last time. Each of you are going into separate entrances to the mine to clear them out of any you've done that, half of you will be guarding the miners from any Grimm you may have missed. The rest of the Huntsmen will go around the mines and look for any remaining Grimm. Once we're done, I'll call you on your scrolls and immediately head back to the campsite. Any questions?"
Everyone shook their heads.
"Great, now everyone, move out!" Ironwood ordered
Everyone nodded once more and headed towards their assigned entrances into the mines. It wasn't before long that everyone went into their own respected entrances. While others were assigned to go in the Northern, Eastern and Western entrances, me and Weiss were assigned to the Southern entrance, which is far away from the campsite
We both looked at each other in silence
.
.
.
"So...lead the way" I said, as politely as I could
Weiss nodded as she walked into the Southern entrance. As I followed behind her, I could see multiple dust veins integrated into the caverns walls. We walked in silence, not even ushering a word, that is until we heard a series of growls that echoed throughout the cave. Weiss brought her rapier out as the blade popped out of my gauntlet, getting ready to take on whatever was in here with us. Soon, a pack of Beowolves, covered in snow and ice began to surround us.
We both charged into different directions. One of the Beowolves pounced towards me, only to be sliced in half
Another Beowolf then pounced at Weiss, but she summoned a glyph under her feet and charged at the Beowolf with incredible speed, before summoning two more glyphs around it, holding it in place. She then thrusted her Myrtenaster through the Beowolf's chest, killing it instantly
Two more Beowolves charged at me. Both reeled their claws back and tried to slash at me. I quickly ducked out of the way of the oncoming attack, then slashed the two in a circling motion, both of them reeling and roaring in pain. I quickly stabbed the Beowolf trough the chin, killing it instantly, before suddenly slashing at the second Beowolf's arm, then finishing it off his a slash through the chest
The final two Beowolves charged at Weiss, the Dust cartridge within her sword started to turn, eventually settling on an Ice Dust capsule. She drove her weapon into the ground as the ice froze the Beowolves in place. She quickly switched capsules and used lightning Dust to electrocute both of them. The two Beowolves howled in pain before disintegrating into piles of ash
We both turned towards one another, making sure that the other side was clear of Grimm. We breathed heavily as we stood there in silence for a couple of seconds
.
.
.
"You're...not half bad" Weiss said
My eye's widened in shock. D-Did she just compliment me!?
"Oh, uh, thanks. You're not so bad yourself" I said
"Thank you" Weiss said with a bow "Well, there's no point in staying here, our mission is to clear out any Grimm in the mines. Let's keep going"
"Well, I'm right behind you" I said, as we went further and deeper into the cave
(Timeskip) Solitas, Cavern (My POV)
It's kind of hard to tell exactly how much time has passed since we entered the mines. But since then, we ran into multiple packs of Beowolves, Centinels and even tiny flocks of Nevermores. But after dealing with them, we eventually reached one of the caverns lower chambers. The chambers walls was almost filled to the brim with various kinds of Dust.
"Wow...it's like a gold mine in here!" I exclaimed
"Yes, it is quite beautiful" Weiss said
I then placed my hands on the chamber's wall as we began to walk into the chamber. But I suddenly reeled my hand back when I got electrocuted by a yellow vein of Dust "Ow!" I yelped
Weiss whipped her head towards me "Don't touch t you dunce!" She yelled "This Dust hasn't been refined yet, so it's very unstable! if it was anything bigger, it would've killed you!"
"Shocking..." I muttered "Still, would've been nice to know beforehand!"
"I thought you knew. Considering you were chosen for this mission, I would have thought that you at least had the required knowledge"
"...Okay...you got me there" I muttered, as I looked around the chamber. My eyes eventually settling on the very end of the chamber. And right there, I could see a very large purple crystal "Hey, that's a pretty big crystal" I said, pointing at the crystal
Weiss turned towards where I was pointing, her eyes widened as she ran up to it, marvelling at it's massive size "Do you know what this is?" She asked me excitedly
"Uh...a giant Dust crystal?" I asked
"No you dunce!" Weiss yelled "Well...yes, but it's a giant gravity Dust crystal! Something this big has enough power to keep Atlas afloat for another decade!"
"Oh, yeah, Atlas uses gravity Dust to keep itself afloat" I remembered
Weiss whipped her head "How do you not know about the kingdom you live in!?"
"I'm from Vale" I corrected
.
.
"Oh...I guess that explains it" Weiss said
...I feel like she was mocking me...while also mocking an entire kingdom...
"Vale doesn't need that much power compared to Atlas" Weiss explained "We need these crystals to live, to power our weapons, our ships, and even our city. Without it, we would freeze to death"
"That's a bad way to go..." I muttered, as I pulled out my scroll. I check mine and Weiss aura, only to see that our Aura levels were now at fifty-five percent "Uh...no need to rush...but we should probably head back up before we become popsicles"
Weiss nodded as she checked her own aura using her own scroll "But first, I'm going to contact Ironwood, he'll want to know the location of the crystal"
I began to looked around the chamber a bit more. You would think that at least one person would have tried to venture down here to mine all of this Dust. Getting here was actually easier than I thought it would be, so...what's keeping others from taking all of this Dust for themselves?
"Strange, he's not picking up" Weiss said "Are you getting a signal?"
I pulled out my scroll and dialled Ironwood, only to get no answer as well "No. It's probably because we're in the lower chambers"
"Well, then let's just go somewhe-" Weiss tried to say, only to be interrupted when the ground suddenly started to shake violently, causing us to loose our footing.
"What the hell!?" I shouted
"Centinels!" Weiss shouted, as I began to look around the area for any sign of Grimm. But due the constant shaking of the ground, it was going to be hard to pin-point the exact location where the Centinels are going to pop out. And from the looks of this, it's a very large swarm of them
I suddenly heard loud cracks come from the ceiling as tiny pieces of ice bounced off of my head. I whipped my head up, only to see that a series of ice stalagmites began to fall from the roof of the chamber. I immediately got back to my feet, and tackled Weiss out of the way before one of the stalagmites struck her
As the stalagmites struck the ground, it created a plume of mist and snow that covered the chamber. I slowly picked my self off of the ground as Weiss did the same. As we got up, we saw that more of the stalagmites blocked our only exited out of the chamber. We were trapped
"What was that!?" Weiss shouted
"Maybe an earthquake...well...icequake in this case" I said
"This is no time for jokes!" Weiss shouted
"Sorry! Force of habit!" I defended
But before any of us could respond, the ground shook violently once more, but this time, there we could hear a massive boom in the distance.
I-Is that a bomb!?
I suddenly heard my scroll going off. I quickly took my scroll out of my pocket to see Peach trying to get a hold of me "Peach! What the hells is going on out there!? Was that a bomb!?"
"Christian! Weiss! Both of you need to get of of there!" Peach shouted through her scroll
"What do do you mean!? What's going o-!?" I tried to say, only to be cut off by the sound of the wall exploding behind us, sending us flying towards the opposite side of the chamber. Both of us struck the wall with a loud thud as we dropped to the ground
"Christian! What was that!? Are you o-!?" Peach tried to say through her scroll, only for the connection to cut off
"Peach!? Peach!" I yelled "God damn it! The connection cut off!"
"What's happening?! What was that explosion!?" Weiss yelled
"I believe we might be able to answer that" A rough voice said
Weiss and I turned towards the source the the voice, which happened to be where the wall that exploded was. And in it's place was a massive hole. As the mist and snow cleared, we could see a group of armed men with a giant drill machine behind them.
The group of men each wore the same uniform. It consisted of a white sleeveless jacket, a sleeveless black hood and black pants. They also have black fingerless gloves, metal foot guards and boots. While a logo of a red wolf head with three prominent claws marks is prominently displayed on the back of the uniform. Three red claw marks can be seen on the top left of their jackets. But what stood out it that they all wore white masks with red marking that covered half of their faces and they all had animal traits, such as ears or antlers, visible along with their uniform.
But the one in the middle was more muscular than the wore black pants and black gloves, and his forearms have metal guards. He also had a distinctive top with a collar that sticks up around his neck and lacks the buttoned look of the standard garb, he also wore some sort of hood over his head with a full-face Grimm mask. He held a giant drill-like weapon in both of his hand's.
"Of course, they're here. Why wouldn't the White Fang be here" I grumbled
"I've always wanted to kill a Schnee." The White Fang member said.
"Why are you here!?" Weiss shouted
One of the grunts stepped up "We're here to take all of this Dust for our case...but once we heard that a Schnee would be here...we couldn't resist"
Weiss pointed her weapon towards the grunts "I won't let you take all of this Dust"
My blade popped out of my gauntlet as I stood by her "And I won't let you kill her" I said as the jewel on the gauntlet glowed, then diminished. I looked at Weiss who simply nodded at me
"I think that's enough talk!" The commander yelled as he turned towards his men "Get them!" He yelled once more
The grunts shouted in agreement as they pulled out their respected weapons, consisting of swords and guns. They charged towards me and Weiss as the both of us went into separate directions with Weiss going towards the left and with me going to the right.
I charged towards one of the goons who was ready to bring his sword down. I blocked his attacked with my blade, then by using his own momentum, I grabbed the back of his head and slammed it against my knee.
Weiss on the other hand used a series of glyphs to propel herself towards a group of grunts where she delivered a series of jabs and slashes. One of th grunts swung at her, only for Weiss to summon a glyph and blocked the attack. She then drover her rapier into the ground, creating a thick layer of ice that froze the grunts in place.
As the grunts tried to pull their feet from the ice, I used that opportunity as the gauntlet glowed a red colour then quickly diminished. I charged towards the trapped grunts as blue sparks could be seen emitting from the blade. I activated the Buster Enchantment as I jabbed at one of the grunts, sending him and whoever was behind him towards the wall
"What was that!?" Weiss asked/yelled
"It's my semblance!" I lied "I'll tell you what it does la-" I tired to say
Weiss's eyes widened as she cut me off "Look out!" She yelled
I whipped my head around to see that the grunt I kneed had gotten his hands on his gun. He opened fire on me, but before I managed to block the bullets, a large, white glyph appeared right in front of me, blocking the bullets. I turned around to see Weiss, pointing her weapon towards me with a smirk
"Thanks" I said
"Thank me later" Weiss said
I nodded as I heard a series of clicks as I turned back towards the grunt, he had ran out of bullets. Using that opportunity, I charged towards the grunt, the jewel glowing once more as I used the Buster Enchantment, sending him flying towards the wall, knocking him out for real this time
All the ones that were remaining was the commander, with a giant drill right behind him. The man sighed in disappointment as he suddenly swung his drill-weapon at the two of us, I roll out of the way while Weiss does a backflip. Then to our surprise, the commander smirks as he suddenly steps out of the way of the giant, drill-vehicle right behind him. We then suddenly heard a slight clicking sound, as a par of mini guns emerged from the panels of the vehicle
Of course the drill machine has guns! Why wouldn't it have any guns!?
The barrels of the gun began to turn as it opened fire. Weiss drover her weapon into the ground, creating a series of glyphs that blocked the oncoming attack. But, those weren't going to last long due to how low her aura was from the cold and using her semblance too much
I began to look around the area, looking for some form of cover. My eyes eventually laid upon a series of fallen stalagmites from earlier. I quickly grabbed Weiss's arm as I pulled her behind the stalagmites, the bullets began to chip at the ice with every strike, this wasn't going to last long, we need some for of plan!
At first, I wanted to use my Blast Enchantment, to destroy the machine with one shot! But we're in an are full of unstable Dust, meaning if a single blast goes off in here, the entire cavern will explode, killing everyone in here!
I mean, we could wait for back-up to arrive...but the bullets were chipping at the ice at a rapid-pace, its not going to last very long
.
.
.
...Guess we're going to have to do this the old fashioned way...but I need to get in close! Thankfully however, I heard a series of clicks coming from the drill-vehicle and usually that means they ran out of bullets. Using that opportunity I hopped over the stalagmites and charged towards the drill-vehicle
The commande revved up his drill and threw it towards me, I barely managed to block it as I skidded several feet. He pulled on the chain, retracting his weapon as he prepared to throw it once more. But as he took a step, he suddenly stumbled forwards as his feet were now frozen to the ground
The commander whipped his head towards Weiss, who had her weapon driven into the ground. Giving me another opening I charged towards the drill-vehicle and sliced off it's mini guns before it had another chance to reload. I then climbed to the top of the machine as I drove my blade into the hatch and forced it open
The grunt that was piloting the machine loomed up in shock as he brought out a pistol. I barely managed to dodge he bullet as I grabbed his arm and pulled him out "Seriously!? Do any of you having a fucking license for this thing!?" I shouted as I threw him out of the machine
The commander swung his drill-weapon at Weiss once more, but summons a glyph in-front of her, shielding herself from the attack. The commander stumbles backwards before swinging his drill once more at Weiss who parries that attack before delivering a series of jabs at him, she then jumps and slashes him across the face before landing on the ground
The commander growls in anger as he holds his face in pain. He angrily swings his weapon towards Weiss once more, only for her to back flip out of the way and jab at his abdomen. I ran up towards him and delivered a barrage of slashes from behind, making him stumble forwards.
He whips his body around and tries to swing his weapon at me, but I managed to block it with my weapon, making me skid backwards from the force. He starts to rev up his drill once more. The jewel in the gauntlet glowed once more as blue sparks could be seen coming off of my blade as I activated my Buster Enchantment. I jabbed him in the abdomen, sending him flying towards the wall
As the commander got up, he was suddenly surrounded by a series of Glyphs. Before he could comprehend of what was going to happen, Weiss slashed at him, then began using the different glyphs to propel herself towards him in different directions
But as Weiss landed on one of the Glyphs, the commander anticipated her next move as she grabbed her by the throat and throws her at one of the walls. He then takes another swing at her. She tries to block the oncoming attack, but he suddenly activated his drill which sent her rapier flying across the room
I catch the rapier and ran to assist Weiss. The commander goes in to impale the heiress with his drill, but I managed to roll under him and blocked the drill from making contact. Spark could be seen coming off of my gauntlet. I shoved the commander backwards before I swung my blade with the Buster Enchantment to get some distance between us. But he manages to recover and used his drill to stop himself from hitting the wall
The commander looks at my gauntlet in shock, seeing that his attack didn't even make a scratch in the metal "What the hell is that thing made out of!?"
I turned towards Weiss "Here" I said, handing her rapier back to her
"Thank you, now, let's take this guy down!" Weiss said.
"Whatever you say, Ice Queen." I said with a smirk, as the jewel glowed once more. I tired to activate my Buster Enchantment...only for the blade on the gauntlet to glow purple "Well...that's new"
"What did you do?" Weiss said
"I...don't know" I said
The White Fang commander then charges at the two of us. Weiss charged right back at him, summoning some of her glyphs around him. She turns towards me as she gestures me to go in. I nod and charged at him, my blade still glowing purple. Both of us delivered a series of slashes and jabs at him, using the glyphs to propel ourselves towards him
The constant attacks made him stumble backwards before Weiss summoned another Glyphs. But to our surprise, we could see two white Beowolves appear from them. The two white wolves then swung at him, sending him flying towards the wall, falling to the ground unconscious
B-But Weiss couldn't summon anything yet!
"W-what did you do?" Weiss asked me.
"I-I don't know!" I said, a little panicked. "This wasn't you!?"
"N-no! I can barely do time dilation! Let alone summoning!" Weiss said.
I look over at the summoning Glyph to see that it had the same purple aura around it "I think...it's my Semblance."
"What exactly does your Semblance do?" Weiss asked
"Well...it can do a lot of things. I don't know how much or exactly what they are, but I think this is one of them" I said, as I looked at Weiss, to see she had the same purple aura as my blade "Hmm...how do you feel?"
"I feel...stronger, like I just got a sudden burst of power. I feel like I could do so much more with my Semblance than before." Weiss said.
I deactivate the enchantment. As soon as I did that, the Beowolves went away faded into white flakes "Alright, try doing it now," I said.
She nodded and tried to activate one of her summoning Glyphs. At first, it was working, but her glyphs were constantly flickering on and off as it got smaller with every second. "Now I can't even summon the Glyph!" Weiss said, obviously frustrated.
"What if...apart of my Semblance makes others stronger?" I suggested "But, now that brings up another question..." I trailed off as Weiss looked at me questionably "What do I call it?"
"...I don't think that matters at the moment" Weiss said
'Well, enhancing purple aura doesn't exactly roll off the tongue" I said
.
.
.
"What about...Boost?" Weiss suggested
"Boost?" I asked
"Yeah, I mean it boosted the power of my Semblance. It seems fitting" Weiss said
"Boost...Boost..." I said a few times "Yeah...I think it fits!"
We then turned towards the direction of the unconscious grunts and commander we had just defeated "So...what to do with him?" I asked
But before Weiss could respond, we could hear a series of footsteps near the blocked entrance of the tunnel we came in
I sighed "Great! There's more of them"! I sarcastically grumbled as the blade popped out of my gauntlet. Weiss could be seen preparing her weapon as well
.
.
However, the sound of a familiar voice made me calm down "Christian! Weiss! Are you in there!?" Peach yelled as I saw her through the cracks of the stalagmites
I let out a sigh of relief as lowered my weapon "Yeah! We're down here!" I said, running up to the blocked entrance/exit
"Down here!" Peach yelled "They're down here!" She yelled once more. After several moments, a series of footstep could be heard echoing down in the chamber. Eventually I could see a group of Atlesian soldiers carrying some sort gun and placed it in-front of the blocked exit
Okay...that's my cue to move!
I quickly ran away from the blocked entrance/exit and took cover behind the damaged stalagmites. After a few moments, we could see a series of flames melt through the stalagmites with ease. As they melted, the group of Atelsian soldiers pulled out their weapons and pointed them towards the unconscious White Fang members. They began to pull cuffs from behind their backs as they cuffed the unconscious White Fang members and escorted them out of the cavern
I could only sigh in relief as I sat down on the floor of ice to catch my breath. But I suddenly felt someone place a blanket over me. I turned around and saw Peach who had a concerned look "Thanks" I said
"Are you alright?" Peach asked as she sat down right beside me
"Other than a few scratches, I'm fine" I reassured, as the White Fang commander who had regained conscious
His eyes met mine as he scowled "I've seen your face, I know what you look like. Once my brothers and sisters get me out, I will come for you!"
"Well, when you get to jail, them 'em that we sent you" I said, earning another scowl from him "Oh, and stay away from the chilli" I said with a smirk
The commander began to struggle out of his restraints, causing other soldiers to come and help restrain and escort him out of the cavern, along with the rest of his men
Oh, and that reminds me!
"Hey, Peach" I said, catching her attention "There's this huge Dust crystal back there we found. We were going to tell you about it...that is until this happened"
Peach's eyes sparkled with anticipation as she got up and walked towards the area where I was pointing. At least she now knows that we're okay.
Though before I could countinue my thoughts, I could hear a series of footsteps approach me. lefted my head up where I saw Weiss "Oh, hey...did you need something?" I asked
.
.
"I...came to apologize for my attitude earlier today" Weiss aplogized
...Who are you...and what have you done with Weiss!?
"Oh, it's fine" I reassured
"No, I want to make it up." Weiss said as she reached into her pocket and grabbed a piece of paper.
"Uh...what is it?" I asked "A coupon or something?"
"No! It's a ticket to my show tomorrow!" Weiss said."And it's not just any ticket, look at what it says."
"Schnee Concert, V.I.P Privilege." I read.
"I was supposed to give it to Ironwood, but he said that he couldn't make it, so I'm giving it to you." Weiss said.
"Well, thank you" I said, putting the ticket in my pocket "We should probably head out of here. I think everything should be under control now...that...and I desperately need a hot cocoa"
Weiss sighed as she shook her head. But as I got up, she stopped me once more "Oh, and Christian?"
I turned back around "Yeah?"
"What's Vale like?" Weiss asked
I cocked an eyebrow "Why the sudden interest?"
"I'm just curious, that's all!" Weiss said, a touch indignantly.
"Well, it's nice, tall buildings, nice people, there's a lot of things to do around there too." I said.
"Well...what's Beacon like?" Weiss asked.
"Well, it's very welcoming, the teachers are nice, and it has a good combat system." I said
.
.
Oh, now I see why she's asking.
"You should apply there. You'd like it." I said with a smile "And who knows? You might even meet a few friends."
November 22, 20XX, Day 82/365 |Kingdom Of Atlas, Atlesian Opera House| (My POV)
The Atlas military was able to fend off the White Fang, however, there were a few casualties. Some of them included a few miners and soldiers that were fighting against the White Fang. Shortly after the attack, we took our time to recover and eventually set everything up for the miners. After our job was finished, we were sent back to Atlas...where I took a very, very long hot and relaxing bath.
However, when I told Peach about the ticket Weiss gave me, the very next day, we spent not one, not two, not three...but FOUR hours shopping for suits! and I'm not that much as a fancy kind of person...so...yeah. But, at least these suits are more comfortable than the uniforms
Currently, I'm in front of the Atlesian Opera House, the place where Weiss's concert was taking place. To be honest, I'm not a big fan of opera-houses...especially when the fat lady with a pitch so high, it can shatter glass! But in this case, I'll make an exception
"Wow...this place is huge" I said, marvelling at the size of the building. But before I could even make it to the front door, I was stopped by two guards dressed in black
"Hold up kid, this party is for nobles only. Brats like you aren't allowed in here" One of the guards said
"Unless you were invited by a person of power or related to said person" The other guard said
I then took out my ticket and showed it to the guards at the front gate with a smirk
Their eyes widened in surprise before quickly bowing "My apologies, sir! I didn't know your status!" They both said in unison
Yeah..."status"...let's go with that
"Right said this way, sir! The concert is about to start!" One of the guards said as they led me towards the main auditorium, where the concert was taken place. The doors opened and almost every seat was filled with people. And every single one of them wore fancy clothing consisting of gold, black, white and silver...basically all of them screamed "rich snobs"
They led me up the stairs, on-top of the main balcony and in one of the seats in the main row
"If there is anything you need, just call us." The guard said.
"Yeah, thanks" I said as I turned towards the stage. The lights then began to dim as the stage light shone on Weiss who slowly walked towards the edge of the stage. I suddenly heard the piano start to play...never thought I'd see the day where I would see a live performance of "Mirror Mirror"
🎵Mirror, tell me something,... 🎵
🎵Tell me who's the loneliest...of all...?🎵
.
.
.
🎵Mirror, tell me something,🎵
🎵Tell me who's the loneliest of all?🎵
🎵Fear of what's inside of me,🎵
🎵Tell me can a heart be turned to stone?🎵

🎵Mirror, mirror, what's behind you?🎵
🎵Save me from the things I see!🎵
🎵I can keep it from the world,🎵
🎵Why won't you let me hide from me?🎵
🎵Mirror, mirror, tell me something,...🎵
🎵Who's the loneliest of all? 🎵
🎵I'm the loneliest...of all...🎵
Soon after she sang the last of the lyrics, the audience roared an applause. And all I can say is...Holy. Shit! That was way better than listening to it on my phone! But if I know Jeff Williams, that song was focused around Weiss's character...so, all she needs is a friend
But sadly, all things must come to an end. So, just as I was about to get up...only to stop myself when I heard the musicians began to play another song as the sound of various instruments echoed throughout the auditorium
Wait, I thought is twas just Mirror Mirror. What else are they playing?
🎵Who am I to complain?🎵
🎵My life's been spared so much pain.🎵
🎵Born with all that I need,🎵
🎵My comforts all guaranteed.🎵
🎵So what's the problem?🎵

🎵I should be free now.🎵
🎵I should be fine. 🎵
🎵But the life I fought for,🎵
🎵Still isn't mine.🎵
🎵Some believe in fairy stories,🎵

🎵Mirror, mirror,🎵
🎵I'll tell you something,🎵
🎵I think I might change it all.🎵
As Weiss sung the last lyrics of the Mirror Mirror Part Two, the audience roared with applause once more. Weiss too in a deep breathe, probably because of all of that singing. She then looked up to where I was, smiled, then waved. I rose out of my seat and waved back to her
(Timeskip) Atlesian Opera House, Ballroom (My POV)
Shortly after the concert, the guards escorted me to the Ballroom. It was a typical ballroom, everyone standing around, talking to one another as they ate and drank as much as they want. As for me, I began to wonder around, looking at various paintings on the walls, including one of Forever Fall.
But for most of the time, I've been just leaning on the wall, eating the various foods that was handed out by the waiters and waitresses. Like I said, I've never been interested in these kinds of things. Though, I might've gotten a few looks as I shovelled food in my mouth...what? Garlic bread is delicious!
Though I was brought out of my thoughts by the sound of someone "Devilled eggs, sir?"
"Hmm? Oh, sure" I said, as I reached and grabbed a plate with the dish "Thank you"
The waiter nodded as he walked away to serve the other guests in the room.
I've never tried Devilled Eggs before, but I like eggs so...it might be good. I shrugged as I picked one up, and shoved it in my mouth.
.
.
.
...I immediately regretted that decision as I almost threw up the whole thing!
Whatever it was, it tasted incredibly vile! I whipped my head around, trying to find somewhere to puke without catching any unnecessary attention! But...I had to swallow my pride...and swallowed the devilled egg...including the vomit, causing shivers to go up my spine
Yeah...I can see why their called Devilled Eggs now...
I began to search the ballroom, trying to find a trashcan to throw out this..."food". But after several minutes of looking, I eventually gave up and just dumped them into a potted plant when no one was looking
After that, I was just standing near the middle of the Ballroom, munching on more garlic bread as I was looking through my scroll. Though as I took another bite, I heard a familiar voice in the distance "There you are!" The voice yelled
I turned around, with my mouth still full to see Weiss wth a semi-angry look walking over to me with her hands on her hips "I've been looking for you for the last twenty minutes!" Weiss huffed
"Zowwy! ("Sorry!")" I said, my mouth still full of garlic bread
"Don't talk with your mouth full!" Weiss snapped
I swallowed the garlic bread that was in my mouth "Sorry..."
"Ah, so this is the boy that helped you fend off the White Fang attack" I heard another voice said
I looed behind Weiss to see a tall and fair-skinned young woman with slate-blue eyes. Her hair is white in colour, tied up in a bun, high on the left side of the back of her head, while her bangs are shaped around the right side of her face, a small curled lock of hair reaching almost to her left shoulder.
She wore a white long-sleeved coat with a single dark blue clasp around the center waist holding it shut alongside a red jeweled brooch on the collar. The coat's length runs down to her ankles and the sleeves are split from shoulder to elbow. She wore a white pleated sleeveless blouse with a dark blue waistcoat. A pair of white trousers with dark blue garters alongside a pair of gray thigh boots with black detailing around the knees. She also wears a pair of black forearm length gloves with gray trimmed cuffs.
This was Winter Schnee, Weiss's older sister and Specialist of the Atlas Military's Special Operatives Unit
.
.
"How appropriately...underwhelming" Winter said
Oh. My. Fucking. God!
"Christian, I would like you to meet my sister, Winter Schnee" Weiss introduced "Winter, this is Christian Pendragon"
Winter's eyes narrowed...it honestly felt like she was staring into my very soul...it was very unsettling. But she eventually extended her hand outwards "A pleasure to meet you, Mr. Pendragon"
"Oh, uh, y-yeah, it's nice to meet you too" I stuttered as I shook her hand
Winter turned towards her younger sister "I must say, Weiss, he certainly doesn't look like a fighter"
...Well...at least one thing run in the family...
Trust me, Winter, looks can be deceiving and he's a perfect representation of that phrase" Weiss defended
"Hmm, well alright, I suppose I can take your word for it." Winter said, as the corner of her mouth lifted slightly "Weiss, could you leave us for just a second? I would like to have a chat with your friend here"
"Oh!" Weiss said, not expecting to be dismissed. "Well, okay." She headed off towards the banquet.
.
.
"Now, Christian." Winter said as she put one hand on my shoulder.
Well...if Iwasn't tense then... I'm certainly now! I mean...who wouldn't!? She went toe-to-toe with Qrow fucking Branwen!
"Uh...yeah?" I asked, nervously
"What exactly are your thoughts on my sister?" Winter asked.
That's...a strange question
"She's...nice, in her own way I mean" I said.
"Oh? And what do you mean by that?" Winter asked, her eyes narrowing slightly
Christian! Don't fuck this up!
"W-well, she wasn't exactly the nicest person when I met her" I said
Winter nodded "Not surprising, my sister has had a lot of trust issues throughout her life"
"I can tell..." I sighed
"Now, next question. How does she look?" Winter asked.
Okay...she's definently up to something.
"She's...pretty?" I said, more of a question then a statement.
"Hmm, interesting." Winter said.
"Is there anything else you need?" I asked.
"Yes, I have a request for you." Winter answered "You see, Weiss is going to Beacon in a couple of months. She told me that you are attending Beacon, as well"
"Yeah, I'm attending Beacon." I said
"I want you to make sure that she doesn't shove other people away." Winter said.
.
.
"Wait, is that it?" I asked.
"Yes. Why, is there a problem with the terms?" She asked with her eyes narrowed.
"No! No, not at all! I accept, but I just don't think she'll need my help. She'll be just fine." I said
.
.
"And just a quick little thought, how about you and Weiss become an item." Winter thoughtfully said
.
"...I'm sorry, what!?" I yelled
"Well, it's just that Weiss seems so friendly towards you, and she's not friendly to anyone. I just thought that this might be a sign of affection, is all." Winter said with a mischievous grin.
"What!?" I yelled again.
Winter turned her head back, before facing me once more "Oh, look, Weiss is coming back over here." Winter said, smirking.
"Are you two done yet?" Weiss asked, a hint of irritation in her voice.
"Yes Weiss, he's all yours." Winter replied with a sly smile as she walked away
"What did she talk to you about!?" Weiss asked, slightly irritated. But her eyes suddenly widened, implying that she must've caught on. She whipped her head towards her older sister as her face turned into a bright shade of red "W-Winter!" Weiss yelled in embarrassment.

Unlike most semblances, the Schnee Semblances are hereditary to members of the Schnee family. Her Glyphs have a variety of effects on objects, monsters, and people (including herself). She can also slow down someone's perception of time, as well as summon her fallen foes.
