R&R longer note at the end
The bar was filled with an awkward silence as the three started at the rouge brown haired girl, she had been gone for so long, no messages, no contact. Biggs's eyes darted from Jessie to Tifa and back again, he didn't know what to say as his eyes darted to Vincent the same blank look mirrored on his face.
"Welcome home" Tifa said through numb lips as her legs slowly carried her forward feeling as heavy as lead bars "Would you like a drink? I could make you something to eat if you'd like? It must have been a long journey, maybe you should take a seat and I'll bring you something over".
"N-now Tifa I know your mad" Jessie said slowly backing up "Let me explain".
Mad?" Tifa asked her voice shaking a little as she forced a smile "I'm not mad, trust me, I'm not mad…I'm furious". Tifa closed the distance in seconds sending her boot in the direction of Jessie's head who quickly hopped back down the stairs, the force of Tifa's kick leaving a hole in the door. The sound of the splintered wood echoed through the sector seven slums as passers-by stopped in shock looking toward the two women. Jessie watched, she knew Tifa's moves better than anyone, she had trained with her but she had yet to be successful in beating her, even now with the hand to hand training she had been taught as her new role with the Turks she still doubted it would be enough.
Tifa didn't wait much longer as she charged down the stairs right at her girlfriend, all the pent up frustration of her leaving, of the nights she had spent crying alone wondering what she had done wrong, wondering if she would ever see her girlfriend again coursed through her veins like fire. Launching her fist in the other woman's direction she watched as Jessie ducked aiming a punch of her own toward her abdomen, she barely felt the contact as the adrenaline fuelling her body blocked the pain moving to the side she drove her elbow into her girlfriend's shoulder sending the girl down with a thud.
"Well this isn't exactly the reunion I thought we'd get" Reno said as he leaned against the railings of the bar's porch, he looked as the heavy footsteps of Vincent and Biggs pounded on the wooden floor, he saw a mixture of anger toward him and concern for their two friends in their eyes as they watched the scene unfolding before them.
"Tifa stop" Jessie pleaded as the black haired barmaid stomped on the floor where Jessie's hand had been a few seconds ago "Just listen to me". Tifa's long hair whipped across her face as she spun on her heel causing Jessie to block the incoming kick, quickly moving her arm she trapped the other woman's leg to her side.
"You show up like nothing happened and you want to talk?" Tifa asked her voice shaking more now as the anger filled her whole body angry tears began to form in her eyes, using her free leg she hopped backwards into the somersault, Jessie quickly let go of her leg as she jumped back feeling the wind whip at her face from the force of the kick. Steadying herself Jessie knew talking to her girlfriend was useless, she had to calm her down somehow, not that she could blame her, it was her fault, she left without warning, with no explanation.
Jessie stood back waiting for her girlfriends next attack, her heart aching as she saw the rage she had caused, the pain in her eyes, she hated herself more than anything. Tifa pushed off from her back foot as she charged, Jessie watched as she pulled her gloved hand pull back, she stood there unguarded. Slowly she closed her eyes, she deserved this, she was ready, if this was what Tifa had to do then so be it.
"LET GO OF ME" she heard Tifa yell as she opened her eyes, the red caped man was struggling to hold Tifa's arms, the black haired man she had known for years had his arms wrapped around Tifa's waist preventing her from moving another step forward. The tears in her lover's eyes flowed freely as Jessie felt her own heart begin to break, her eyes welled up with tears, this wasn't what she wanted, she wanted to end the hurt not add to it.
"We'll try another day" came the voice of Reno as he dragged Jessie away with him through the crowd that had gathered, Tifa struggled against her friends, people she called family.
Jessie took one last look back as the helicopter took off, Reno sat silently as the brown haired girl broke down, her tears flowed freely as she let all her frustration out, all her emotion bursting like a dam. This wasn't how it was meant to be.
Another short chapter but let me give you all a little behind the scenes. Sometimes I have music on in the background to help me focus and it just so happened I had "unbreak my heart" playing at the time not sure why but we'll gloss over that. Anyway due to that song and the way this chapter went I was feeling a little emotional when I did this which I didn't think was possible but it is apparently. So if that emotion is invoked in you I'm sorry for that but it also feels like that is the right type of emotion to have
Hope you all enjoyed
