R&R longer note at the end

Tifa stood at her door a hand on the handle thinking wondering if she was truly ready to face people again, taking in a deep breath she smiled letting it out slowly, life had thrown many punches her way and she dodged them all, this time would be no different. Regaining her confidence, she pulled the door open stepping out into the slums she called home, she smiled as she looked around nothing was different. Tifa headed down the stairs from her apartment walking the familiar route to the bar, everyone waved and smiled as she passed.

Slowly the barmaid walked up the wooden steps to the bar, she looked to the side as she smiled, the hole she had caused in her own door had been repaired. As she pulled the doors open she was greeted with the usual scene, Biggs sat at the bar drinking coffee smiled warmly getting up to hug her. Vincent stood in the corner minding his own business as he held up a hand letting her know he was happy she was back.

"Sorry guys" Tifa said as she looked at them both "I didn't mean to shut you guys out for so long".

"Hear that Vincent? She's sorry" Biggs said with a playful laugh.

"Your apology is not accepted" Vincent said as Tifa looked over confused "It's pointless to accept an apology when one wasn't needed". Tifa smiled as she couldn't help but laugh, feeling a little foolish she looked at the clock checking the time. She smiled at her two friends before apologising once again as she left, only wanting to say a quick hello she made her way out she didn't want to be late for her meeting.

Jessie smiled as she made her way through the scrapyard, she had left earlier than she intended as she kicked around a stone waiting, after a few minutes of waiting she heard footsteps heading her way. Not sure who or what it was she instinctively reached for the holster on her back, her hand closed on the grip of her gun ready to draw it at a moment's notice.

Watching closely, she drew her gun as a brown object came into view, she took aim as she noticed what it was she smirked a little as she lowered her gun seeing the athletic form of her girlfriend coming into view. Tifa looked up as she smiled, slowly making her way over she saw Jessie take a defensive stance as she chuckled.

"I'm calm today" Tifa said as she saw Jessie smile, a smile she missed every day she took the final few steps until they were close enough to reach each other. Tifa couldn't resist as she looked into her girlfriend's eyes, gripping her arm as she pulled her into a hug. The smell of Jessie's hair, the warmth of her cheek, the safety she felt being held by the woman she loved, she didn't resist as the tears fell.

The two sat in the safety of the shack they had confessed to each other, Jessie couldn't help herself as she smiled, the place where it all started was the perfect place to reconcile.

"Sorry for attacking you" Tifa said suddenly catching Jessie a little off guard as she looked over at her smiling.

"You really got me good" Jessie teased as she rolled her shoulder "It's not been the same since maybe a certain someone should show me how sorry they really are?" She turned to see Tifa staring daggers at her as she recoiled expecting the other woman to hit her again, after a few moments she chuckled pulling Jessie back as she slowly began to massage her girlfriend's shoulder.

"How's this my lady?" Tifa asked teasing back as Jessie chuckled.

"It's very good thank you" Jessie said putting on a posh voice "Perhaps I should request you more often, you do an exceptional job". The two girls chuckled as they continued, they looked through the gaps in the metal roof sighing, it was getting late and they both knew this area would become a nightmare to navigate if they didn't leave soon. Reluctantly the pair left the shack stepping out into the wasteland, they didn't want this magical time to end but they knew it would have to, smiling as they shared one last hug and kiss Tifa turned to leave.

"Tifa wait" Jessie called out as the barmaid turned seeing her lover acting strange holding something behind her back "There's just one more thing".

"What is it?" Tifa asked curious as she watched, her eyes widened in shock as she saw Jessie go down onto her left knee pulling a black box from behind her back.

"Tifa Lockhart" Jessie began as she smiled opening the box to reveal an expensive looking diamond ring "Will you marry me?"

Confession time. When I wrote this chapter this was not what I planned to happen for the ending but as it got closer and closer to the end it just felt like hey lets throw everyone a surprise, lets throw a curve ball, lets have a proposal.

So now the question is will Tifa say yes or will she say no? Guess you'll have to stick around to find out
