A/N: Here's something I just wrote down really quickly.

Rachel buried her head in her pillow, trying to drown our Lavender and Parvati's voices. While they were staying at Camp Half-Blood, they would have to share a cabin with her. Now Rachel was having to deal with the two and their gossiping. "Can you believe Percy didn't bring Annabeth on his quest?"

"I know," said Parvati. "He'd rather take Leo than his girlfriend. That should tell you something about their relationship."

Rachel shot up in her bed. "Look, Leo's handy in a pinch. He's good with mechanical stuff."

"But who doesn't take their girlfriend with them on a quest?" said Lavender. "And did you see the look on her face when Percy told Leo he wanted him as his companion?"

"Annabeth looked fine," said Rachel.

"You need to learn to read people," said Lavender. "I can pick up these kind of things. She was devastated."

"Right." Rachel sighed. This was going to be a long night. She got out of bed and headed for the door.

"Where are you going?" said Parvati.

"I need to get something to drink. I'll be back." The two went back to their conversation. Rachel went over to the Athena cabin and knocked on the door. Annabeth opened the door.

Annabeth yawned. "What's the problem?"

"Some animal's been bothering us," said Rachel. "It's been making noises and scratching at the cabin. Do you have something that could put it to sleep?"

"Put it to sleep?" said Annabeth.

"Yeah," said Rachel. "It's being annoying, but I don't want to kill it."

Annabeth decided to give Rachel a crossbow with enchanted bolts. They were too weak to do any harm, but they would put whatever they hit to sleep. "One scratch and it's out."

"For how long?" said Rachel.

"A few hours," said Annabeth.

"Good, thanks." Rachel headed back to the cabin. Parvati and Lavender were still talking. They didn't even seem to notice Rachel as she entered the cabin. Rachel aimed the crossbow at Parvati and fired. A dart sized object flew across the room and into the back of Parvati's neck. She slumped forward.

"Parvati. Parvati. Are you okay?" Lavender tried to wake her friend. Rachel fired a dart into her chest. Lavender was asleep before her head hit the pillow. Rachel put the crossbow down and lay in her bed. She was going to get a goodnight's sleep.
