The backlight in her phone was beginning to cause that specific headache that starts at the front of your forehead, making its way through your eyes and to the temples of your head. "Gah," She rubbed her eyes and placed the phone on the table in front of her. Grasping the soft fluffy fibers of the blanket from her bedroom wrapped around her tightly, she exhaled, "I hate this..." knowing that sleep would yet again not be accessible for the night. "It's already 2 in the morning and I just... can't."

After the incident, Eva hadn't had a good night's rest in weeks. The flashbacks of the kidnapping and the villains repeatedly taunting her and Bakugo replayed night after night as she laid down in bed. Her stomach instinctively growled but the hunger in her brain was no longer there. "This," she sighed shaking her head and picking back her glowing phone, "...this sucks."

Mindlessly scrolling through the social media outlets of her friends and family, Eva stopped at a post of her middle school bully.

So does it surprise anyone that the CURSED GIRL is the one that got kidnapped and basically caused All Might to lose his power?! Or is it just meeee?

She dared not to read the comments underneath the post. That certainly would cause her to go over the edge and lose her literal mind. Everything about this girl. Everything she had ever said in the past to Eva. Her perfect profile picture. Her number of friends. All the times this girl picked on Eva until she felt like the walls in her bedroom were sick of watching her cry alone. And now to see a post after all the events that had taken place and the feelings that she had to throw to the side and attempt to bury the past few weeks.

This.

This post is what caused the tears to just pour from her face.

She wanted to break her phone. She wanted to break the table. Hell, if she could she would have ignored her quirk's ability and used her fists to punch holes in the walls, except the young woman knew that she'd get into so much trouble not only Mr. Aizawa but also the school principal. "Damn it," she released the phone once again and held tightly to her dark green blanket wrapped around her shoulders. Crying sucked, she thought, because she had done it so many times in the past alone just as she was right now. Of course, at the time of night that she was up, none of her other classmates were awake and had long been sent to bed. But the temptation of just not being alone in her room and in the open space of the first floor was where she craved to be... even if no one was there.

Eva shook her head and with both of her thumbs pressed her eyes forcing the tears out, "Shit!" She sighed realizing just how much she craved to be in dreamland. "Damn!" Any relief at this moment was needed and that included the awful post that she had just - "HIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIISSSSSSSSSSSS" Without warning, the bright lights from the kitchen suddenly turned on. Eva's immediate response (as silly as it might sound) was to hiss like a cat would.

Instinct took over and she covered her eyes from the sudden light change. "The hell?! Ahhhh!" Wanting to relief any sort of pressure from her aching eyes she took the moment to let her pupils get adjusted behind the eyelids.

The voice was groggy but deep. "What the hell are you doing?!"

She knew exactly who had just joined her downstairs. "Ugh..." Lifting her head towards the voice, "I should be asking you the same thing...?" She opened her eyes at the blonde boy with a scowl that she knew oh too well. "... hot head?"

Rolling his red eyes, Bakugo sniffled his nose and continued into the main kitchenette area that the students could prepare food for themselves when meals weren't being served. "Whatever, damn psycho."

Not having a response to his nickname for her, Eva shook her head and reached for her phone continuing to scroll past the post that had her crying just moments before. Looking at all the good and bad things her classmates from the past posted on the timeline made her feel numb. None of them decided to try to become a hero. None of them had the courage to try to do what she was attempting and yet she was being criticized for just being a student. Someone that never wanted to be a hero in the first place and had grown into the idea that she could be.

"Oi!"

Looking up from her phone Bakugo stared back at her with a cooking pot in his hand and udon noodles in the other with his usual frown on his lips as he always did, "Do you want any?" The scowl suddenly morphed into a slight look of concern; the same one he'd given her as they were locked up in that bar with the villains. Eva began questioning his intent. Did he hate her too? Did he want to just prove to her that he was always better? He had proven himself time and time again after multiple incidences that he had talent with cooking. But was he being honest? Or was he just trying to mock her in his typical bratty fashion?

"What are you making?" she muttered looking back at her phone and then quickly back to him.

He rolled his red eyes, "Udon," and then moved his body back to the stove after pouring water from the sink into the bowl. "I had a craving. ...I couldn't sleep."

"Yea," Eva scoffed, "Same here."

The mood in the room turned awkward as the two continued on with their tasks. Even though the students had shared almost the same fate that night, neither one felt the same and it was debatable over which one was taking the blame more to heart than the other. "I've noticed." Bakugo stirred the pot of food while speaking, "You haven't been eating... not good, you dumb idiot." His focus so intent at the food that Eva wondered if he was speaking aloud and she wasn't actually supposed to hear his words.

"What do you-"

"I watched you for two days... not eat or drink anything as those villains tormented you. And I couldn't do a damn thing... since we got to the dorms you haven't been yourself." He snarked back as quietly as the infamous hot-headed Katsuki Bakugo could. "Don't think I haven't noticed. You damn Psycho."

Their nick names for each other came from the USJ attack in which they were both thrown into a situation that made their quirks make sense. It stuck. And the two never let it go.

Even after...

They were both kidnapped from the camp...

"I'm fine... hot head... I just-" at that exact moment, Eva let out a loud growl from her belly indicating her lies and forcing the infamous Kaachan to smirk in a response of, "I told you so..."

Her red face was luckily covered by the blanket wrapped around her shoulders and she instantly buried her blushing cheeks into the cloth. "Just a little bit. I guess." She admitted the defeat via her intestines being a perpetrator and he graciously nodded pouring her a small serving of bowl of substance. With a flick of his finger, he turned the stove off and placed two bowls of the Udon by either person's side while sitting himself next to her. "Thank you," She smiled with heavy eyes. "You really didn't have to-"

"Shut up and eat the damn food. You're annoying."

Eva pouted only for a moment and then quickly looked towards her bowl. "Spicy?" her question came from the bright red broth in the bowl. Bakugo smirked, "Well duh." Thinking he had tricked her into an intolerable pain. But instead, Eva smirked back, "Oh good – I love spicy!"

The two, despite having a difference in amounts of their bowls, his being three fourth's and hers only one fourth, finished at the same time and stared at one another almost as if a challenge had been upon them. The moment of silence and victory quickly turned into Eva's look of sorrow and Bakugo's look of apprehension. "Yo?" He asked looking down at the girl, "You finally finished a meal?"

Realizing it was the truth, despite how little he had given her to start with, this was the first time in weeks Eva hadn't taken two bites and felt full. "Oh? I guess you're right. Whatever." She pushed the bowl toward him. "Thanks for that." She humbly smirked and held her blanket tighter across her chest. "I just..." She wanted to admit to him all the feelings of what happened after they had been kidnapped by the League of Villains but her brain stopped her words from forming. "...I don't know." She whispered under her breath and placed her right palm in her forehead thinking he wouldn't hear her.

Bakugo sighed under his breath with a saddened frown. Not only had he experienced all of the same thing that she had, but he had to watch his favorite hero, someone he admired as a child, lose his power. And on top of that he was forced to watch his classmate slip into madness blaming herself for something he could have stopped in the long run...if only he had been strong enough. If only he had struck the first move when they were captured. If he had gotten free from the bar or even from the battle field and took her with him, then maybe All Might would still have his power... but It was HIS fault and Eva was taking most of the blame even though he was too tough to admit...

It was all his fault.

Looking back at her to reveal his true emotions to someone that would understand their trauma and the frightening things they experienced during that kidnapping, he stopped dead in his tracks to a hunched over human with dark purple hair slouched over her shoulders. "Eva?" he called out realizing she was already falling towards the side of the table for a night's rest. "OI!" he ran to catch her head before it slammed into the table. "Damn extra..." he whispered holing her cranium in the palm of his hand. "OI!" He shook it gently until she fluttered her eyes and grasped her palm into his forearm. "Hello you stupid psycho..."

"Uhggg. Get off," Eva fluttered her eyes to those beady red ones staring down at her and a warm hand in her cheek, "Hot head. I got this, I just finally felt... full I guess." She sheepishly admitted for the first time. "We should probably head to bed before we get into trouble." Not wanting to reveal her blushed cheeks to the boy, she pushed the chair back from the table and wrapped the blanket tighter around her shoulders. Walking towards the center of the common space where the elevator was, she looked back at the blonde behind her, "Coming?" He nodded with an eye roll.

The buildings they currently lived in were made so quickly so the elevators weren't the fastest. The eager group of students in 1-A had already tested out the speed of the elevators when they did the room contest last week. Eva of course having a very boring room didn't have any worries when the others wanted to look inside, but that had her thinking, that she never got to see his room. Pressing the 'Up 'button on the elevator, Eva walked in first as the blanket floated behind her like a superhero cape. "I'm floor 5." She calmly stated as the doors to the elevator beeped and shut. Because of the speed of the machine, she decided to situate herself in the corner of the right back placing her head against the cool metal feeling relief to rest her aching head. The moment of silence and the hum of the elevator was enough to put her to sleep.

The hum

The steel walls

Feeling the stop on the fourth floor, that she knew was Bakugo's, she yawned without opening her eyes, "Night..." she sighed and nuzzled against the cool steel walls of the elevator while hearing the doors close and knowing the boy had left on the floor of his dorm.

The need for sleep

The soothing hum continued

Calmness

It all just overtook Eva and she slumped against the machine she was confined into-

"Katsuki!" Eva shot her eyes open to see the boy had cradled her into his warm body. "What the-" A set of muscular arms held her upper back and his forearm supported the back of her knees.

"Shut the hell up." His voice stern but caring, something she'd never experienced from him prior, "You Psycho. They'll hear you when the elevator stops and honestly, I'm surprised you didn't fall asleep as soon as we stepped in." Bakugo was full of so many hatred comments but this one was a genuine concern for the purple haired girl's well-being. "I can only imagine if I would have gotten off at my floor you would have been passed out in the damn elevator and no one would have found you until the morning. Idiot. So, I'll just make sure you get there myself."

The doors to the 5th floor opened and with Eva in his arms, Bakugo walked towards the female side of the building and placing her down gently by her door right next to Momo's room. "There, good?" he whispered almost too quietly to be a whisper.

Eva stood with her blanket and back against the wall staring at the boy she thought she knew so well. The boy that yelled and cursed the smallest things that anyone did to annoy him. She never would have imagined when she started at UA that she would have ever been placed in a situation where the two would have been placed in such a high-risk situation as the one they faced a month ago. "I'm good." Eva finally nodded with a sigh. "Thank You," She awkwardly looked away and turned towards her bedroom door with her fingertips placed gently on the handle.

He felt what she was feeling. It was their fault. They were the ones that got kidnapped. And they were both suffering in silence without the other knowing... until tonight.

A strong calloused hand placed itself on her right shoulder, "I understand."

Katsuki's words sent shivers down Eva's spine.

The green blanket fell from her hands as she turned to him with tears welt in her eyes. Throwing her body weight into the biggest hug she had given in what felt like months since joining UA High, Eva whispered in his ear,

"I know you do."
