The brown haired barmaid smiled as she looked in the full length mirror her long hair flowed down to her shoulders, she pulled the straps of her short blue dress as she smiled, changing her usual boots for blue high heels. After she was satisfied she grabbed a white wrap around jacket and her purse heading out the door, it was her first blind date in a few years, she couldn't help the nervous butterflies slowly building in the pit of her stomach as she made her way down the stairs of her apartment heading for the station.

She smiled as members of the neighbourhood watch complimented her wishing her luck on the date, she checked her watch as she reached the station looking up she spotted the train had just begun to pull in, taking a deep breath she stepped into the front carriage finding an empty seat she sat down looking out of the window in front of her. I wonder what he's like she thought as the train pulled away heading to the sector six station.

The brunette smiled as she peeked out of her room her long hair was braided into a ponytail, slowly she slipped out of her room holding her white high heels her long flowing red dress flipped up as she crept down the stairs not wanting to wake her mother.

She slipped out of the house closing the door as she sighed, leaning down she put her shoes on sneaking through her flower garden, this wasn't her first time sneaking out however it was her first time sneaking out for a blind date. As she passed through the flower garden she smiled leaning down picking a yellow one slipping it into her hair.

She headed towards the Chocobo stop station as she smiled paying the carriage driver she slipped in as the yellow bird pulled off she looked through the pink curtains of the carriage. I hope he likes my outfit she thought as they headed towards wall market.

Tifa smiled as she was led to a table at a top class restaurant in wall market, she sat down tucking her dress under her as she sat down accepting the offer for a glass of red wine, she looked around at the candle lit dining room she had always wondered what it would be like to come here but never had a reason to step through the doors until now.

As if on instinct she began to count the amount of people she saw, noting in her mind what they had been drinking, spotting every entrance and exit. Slowly she shook her head, what was she thinking this wasn't work this was pleasure, her first blind date in years she picked up her glass of wine as she took a sip to calm her nerves.

She picked up a menu reading through it just to distract herself a little as her eyes darted to the main doors, any man who walked through that door could be her potential date. Placing the menu down she stared at the entrance noting a rather beautiful looking woman walk in, her flowing red dress and long brunette ponytail lit up the room as she entered.

The brown haired barmaid couldn't help but smile as she saw her walking through the tables being led to a table near the back, I hope her date goes well the woman thought as she turned to look at the door again. She looked at her watch, her own date was five minutes late taking another sip of her wine she read through the menu again, she had decided to give them a little more time before ordering anything.

The brunette sipped her white wine as she sat at a table near the window, she looked around feeling out of place, she always just thought of herself as a simple flower girl helping out in the Sector six slums, now here she was, sitting in a beautiful red dress her make-up and hair done up, in an expensive restaurant waiting for her date.

She pulled out a small pocket mirror from her purse as she made sure her make-up hadn't smudged on the ride here, satisfied with how she looked she put the mirror away. She looked around the dining room as her eyes fell on a woman sitting alone wearing a short blue dress, the flower girl smiled as she looked over the woman's beautiful features noticing she looked slightly annoyed about something.

Slowly her eyes darted to the door any man who came in could be her potential date, she watched as couples wondered in while some left, she checked the clock on the wall. They must be held up she thought as she noticed they were five minutes late, she checked through the menu looking at the different dishes on offer her eyes rolled over the names as she closed the menu. She had no idea what any of these things even were.

The barmaid tapped a finger on the table impatiently as she checked her watch, five minutes late could be explained away by many things but no amount of explanations could excuse being forty minutes late with no notifications as to why. Standing up the girl drained her second glass of wine leaving money on the table as she stormed out, feeling embarrassed as people stared.

As she got out onto the street she wrapped her jacket around her as she walked with no destination in mind, her mind was a jumbled mess it hadn't been the first time she had been stood up but this one felt different. Her feet carried her as she held back angry tears, no notice, if he wasn't interested why didn't he just say? All dressed up for nothing, she felt foolish for believing it would go well, she stopped as she came to a cheap diner.

Pushing the door open a wave of relief flooded over her body seeing it was empty, she walked to a table near the back sitting down as she grabbed a menu reading through as a waitress approached.

"Can I have a large coffee and a burger please? Lots of fries" the girl snapped at the waitress who nodded taking a note she walked off back to the counter to give the chef her order. This is it she thought, I'm never making a fool of myself like this ever again.

The flower girl tapped her heel against the floor as she kept her eyes locked on the clock in the restaurant, she had seen the woman in the blue dress storm out looking angry, embarrassed and upset as she went. She sighed as she checked her phone, no messages her eyes darted to the clock once more as she stood tossing money down.

She left keeping her face down as people watched, she understood the feelings that woman had now as she felt them, forty minutes late for a date? No messages? No contact? Who does that to someone? She felt her feet carry her as she stormed through the streets of wall market, the drunken passer-by's recoiled looking at the murderous look on the girls face.

She stopped as she looked up seeing the sign for a diner opening the door she stormed in, as she closed the doors her eyes fell on the brown haired figure sat at the back, her hands holding a greasy looking burger a large cup next to her, as her eyes slowly moved down she saw her blue dress.

What was happening? Slowly she approached as she ordered at the counter she stood next to the woman's table not even sure why as she placed her purse down, she slid into the seat opposite her as the other woman looked up a sadness hidden behind her eyes mixed with one of surprise, her eyes fell down as she took in the woman's features, her hair, the make-up, that flowing red dress.

"You too?" She asked a softness to her voice as her brown eyes locked on the others green ones who gave a sad smile.

"Afraid so" She said as the waitress brought over her order of a grilled sandwich and coffee.

"Tifa" the woman in the blue dress said wiping her hand with a napkin before extending it to the other woman who smiled taking it.

"Aerith" She replied as her voice shook trying to hold back the sadness she felt inside.

Who would stand up these two lovely ladies? Crazy right? Anyway, I'd planned on doing an Aerith X Tifa story and of all the ideas I had this one was the best of the bunch, well whoever the two people who stood up our girls are I hope your happy with yourselves because you just lost out
