R&R longer note at the end
Tifa woke the next day as she rolled over in bed checking the time, she sighed as she reluctantly forced herself up ready to get set up at the bar, sliding out of bed she went to the bathroom as she started the shower running before returning to her bedroom to grab some clean clothes. As she turned to go back to the bathroom she spotted her phone was blinking, picking it up she checked her notifications seeing a few messages from her would be date last night, she shrugged as she tossed the phone to her bed headed for the shower.
You made me wait so now you can wait she thought as she stepped into the shower the warm water waking her up as it ran down her body, after a few more minutes of relaxation she stepped out drying herself off as she wrapped her long brown hair in a towel before returning to her bedroom to change.

The brunette sighed as she cleaned around the house wanting to help her adoptive mother, she hadn't told her about sneaking out for a date that never happened and planned on keeping it to herself. She still couldn't believe someone would stand her up like that, she had checked her phone that morning to a few messages from her would be date but had decided to leave them alone for now, still feeling hurt she felt it would be better to collect her thoughts before scanning through the excuses she was sure would exist.
Her mind slipped back to the brown haired woman she had seen who had suffered the same fate as her as she washed some dishes left over from breakfast, the woman had looked beautiful in her blue dress, her long hair was shining brighter than the candles that had filled the restaurant they had been stood up in.
She smiled as she remembered the nice meal the pair had shared in the diner, it wasn't the glamorous meal she had expected but somehow it felt more natural to her, the woman had never really had any expensive tastes but when asked on a date to somewhere different she couldn't help but accept.
After she was done with her chores she walked out into the garden, the smell of the flowers filling her nose as she got an idea heading back in momentarily she decided to grab her flower basket before going out and picking some flowers.

The barmaid walked through the Sector Seven slums she called home smiling and waving at the people she had become friends with over the years, her phone was clutched in her hand as she walked to her bar, she grabbed the keys off the chain on her black short skirt as she unlocked the door walking in closing it behind her. She walked to the bar as she sat down feeling it was time to see what excuses this person had bombarded her phone with.
I'm really sorry about last night
I was stuck at work all night I'm really sorry
I tried to get away but my boss was so insistent that I needed to stay
I hope you can forgive me and give me another chance?
I promise I'll make it up to you

Tifa looked at the messages, rereading them one at a time she had heard this excuse many times, caught up at work was the common one her past dates had used on her, she had given them second chances and they once again failed to show up she had given up on second chances now she smiled as she wrote her message back.
You knew we had a date last night so you should have taken the day off
I'm not one for giving second chances they never work out
I hope work goes well for you since it appears to be more important than our date
Sorry but you blew your chance

Laying her phone on the counter the barmaid sighed, she felt like a weight had been lifted off her shoulders almost like she had shaken off the sadness of the night before. After a few moments she stood up walking to the jukebox in the corner, it was time for some cleaning and the only way to truly clean was to have the music on and have it loud.
Smiling as she picked a song she grabbed the mop and bucket from behind the bar, smiling as she danced around with the mop in hand feeling free and unburdened she held the mop to one side as she brought her arm behind her head grabbing the mop lower down as she brought it around her back shaking her hips.
"Woohoo you go girl, work it" a voice came from behind her as she felt her face going red slowly turning to see a brunette girl stood behind her with a huge grin on her face "Hi again".

"Oh come on you looked so into it I couldn't help but watch" Aerith said chuckling as Tifa refused to speak "I especially loved this part". Aerith stood up as she shook her hips crossing an arm behind her head, Tifa glared unamused as the brunette continued to tease her chuckling.
"Please, forget everything you saw" Tifa said "How did you find me anyway? I only told you my name not where I live or anything. Are you stalking me?" Aerith chuckled as she sat down taking the glass of lemonade Tifa poured for her, she took a sip before responding.
"Thank you for the drink" She said "I'm not stalking you, I just asked around where I live if anyone knew a woman named Tifa and they said if it's the woman they think it is then she runs a bar in Sector Seven. So with a hop and a skip here I am".
"A hop and a skip huh?" Tifa asked raising one eyebrow in suspicion "Well I'll let you off for now if you forget what you saw here today". The brunette chuckled as she dragged two fingers over her mouth, Tifa smiled a little at her childish behaviour before grabbing a cloth wiping the bar down.
"So Aerith allow me to say it's nice to see you again" Tifa said as she looked at her phone seeing no response from her previous text "So, might be rude of me to ask but did you hear anything?"
"About the date?" Aerith asked as she sipped her drink "I have messages but I haven't responded yet, I haven't even looked at them. Did you hear anything?"
"I woke up to the excuses this morning" She replied as she leaned on the bar "I was stuck at work give me another chance I'll make it up to you. I just don't have the time so I told them it was too late they missed their chance".
"Perhaps I should do the same" Aerith said as Tifa looked over "I mean it's not the worst dating experience I have had so maybe I can give them a second chance".
"Only you can make that choice" Tifa said as she offered to refill Aerith's glass as she nodded "I hope it's not rude of me to ask but what is your worst dating experience?"
"Thank you" Aerith said as she sipped her refilled drink "I once showed up dressed very nice, nothing like that red dress you saw me in just something simple. Anyway when I showed up I was greeted by a group of people who just laughed at me, calling me weird and some horrible things. I ran home crying because I just couldn't understand how anyone could be so cruel". Tifa looked at her with a hint of sadness in her eyes, this woman had been through some horrible experience like that and was willing to give someone a second chance, she must really trust in people to not humiliate her again.
"I'm sorry you went through that" Tifa said as Aerith looked over at her "I once had a guy ask me out, I dressed up nice and went to meet them. I showed up and waited and waited but they never showed, I went home upset. The next day I saw them laughing and joking with a group of their friends, I confronted them about the night before and they just laughed saying 'oh I was supposed to show up to that thing?' I remember being very angry at this as him and his friends laughed, the next thing I knew my foot had connected with somewhere painful and he fell on the ground".
"Wow" Aerith chuckled "Remind me not to set you up miss lioness". Tifa looked over as she began to laugh, after a while the brunette joined in as the two continued laughing together for a few moments.

Tifa walked the short distance to the station with Aerith as the two laughed and talked, as the train pulled in Aerith reached into the basket she had been carrying pulling out a single white rose handing it to Tifa before she waved heading off. Tifa smiled as she smelled the rose watching as her new friends train pulled away she headed back to the bar with the rose in her hand, she was such a nice girl she thought I hope she visits again or I might have to take myself a trip to Sector Six.
So here is chapter two finally, sorry this one will be slow updates for a while since I have so many more to finish, I promise this story will get a lot more attention when others are done.
Anyway a few pointed to raise here
1. The bold text is the mystery person who was meant to have the date with Tifa and the italics is her response
2. The dance in the bar was just something funny I thought up and I didn't mention a song because it gives you all a chance to put your own song to it
3. Aerith's messages to the one who stood her up will happen chances are I'll have her give them a second chance but we shall see
4. The white rose at the end isn't a reference to Yuffie but I do think Tifa would like roses so that's why I used it
