Fuyuki City.
It is a large municipality located on the island of Kyushu. Its name, "Winter Tree", comes from the fact that its winter seasons are longer than other locations. The city is also well-known to be quite culturally diverse, so non-Asian foreigners are not an uncommon sight compared to most other places in Japan.
And it's been nearly a year since Narukami Yu had moved here.
It was a sudden change. Once it turned out that his parents weren't going to be able to come back at all instead of just taking long business trips this time around, they just decided that it would be best if they'd moved him into a new city where they can have someone to keep an eye on him.
("Even though no one keeps an eye on me whenever they're gone." Yu thought bitterly.)
Apparently, his mother disliked her hometown ("There's nothing to do there." She said) and her relationship with his uncle (whom he never met) had become quite distant ever since she left Inaba, so she wasn't sure if he'd let her son stay with him. That's why they turned to the second best choice.
The boss of a yakuza group.
When his father told him that he was formerly a yakuza, it was honestly a shock for Yu. His father had always been the gentle and soft-spoken type, so it would literally be the last thing he'd expected of him. He actually thought his father was just making a joke at the time until he actually showed him his full-body tattoos.
Those actually looked cool, though.
His father was able to get the approval from the boss to let Yu stay in a large estate. According to his father, it used to belong to one of the boss's old friends but he didn't elaborate more on the matter.
From the solemn look on his father's face, Yu was able to connect the dots and concluded that the previous is most likely no longer around.
And it had been a year since then. As well as meeting the boss's granddaughter who would often slack off in the estate.
All in all, it wasn't so bad.
"Breakfast is served."
"Yaaay~!"
The silver-haired teen placed all the plates on the dining table as the woman many years older than him cheered. To anyone that didn't know better, the meal would look like something that was cooked in a restaurant.
But, in reality, all of this was made by a 13-year-old middle schooler, who was self-taught by simply watching cooking shows.
You have tons of free time if your parents aren't around.
In front of him across the dining table wolfing down the food he made was Fujimura Taiga, the granddaughter of his father's former boss. She's an English teacher at Homurahara Academy, the school Yu is also attending. However, she teaches in high school, so he can only see her when classes are dismissed or sometimes in breaks.
From what he knew, even before he moved here, Taiga would frequently hang out in this estate, more often so when the previous owner was around. Having a person that can cook for her while she slacks off was a pretty good benefit for her, plus having more company.
Yu didn't mind this change at all. Not one bit. It was a very nice change of pace. The atmosphere from his previous home was always still and cold, with no one to talk to or even spend time with. It was always having to cook for himself (not counting whenever his parents do return home), so having someone to spend time with, also cooking for them is a change that Yu always wanted for his parents to do.
But he doesn't think they'll change any time soon, even if they do care for him.
"—u? Yu!"
Yu snapped his head up in surprise, "Y-Yeah? Sorry, got lost in thought."
Taiga pouted at him, "Is there something bothering you?"
Blinking twice, the silver-haired teen shook his head, "Not really."
"Is this about your parents?" Taiga asks, sighing.
Yu nodded and continued eating.
At that, Taiga practically inhaled all the remaining food in less than a minute. The first time he had seen this happen, Yu couldn't help but stare incredulously at the teacher.
"I'm not really good at pep talk but I'd be pretty mad myself if my grandpa would focus on work so much instead of spending time with me." Taiga said, carrying her plates to the sink, "But I'm positive that your parents at least do care for you."
Yu nodded, smiling slightly. Knowing that while they neglected him, it was always a small comfort to know that his parents genuinely did love him. They always bring him gifts and souvenirs whenever they come home from business trips.
Taiga soon took off once she finished her pep talk with him. As a teacher, she always has to go earlier than the students. Yu had more time for himself, as classes won't start in at least half an hour. He also wasn't the captain of the kendo club so he didn't have to deal with managing it.
As the middle-schooler washed the dishes, Yu couldn't help but let his mind wander. There was something he was meaning to ask Taiga for a while now but was very unsure on how to ask it.
Ever since he moved in Fuyuki, he had spent more time walking around the city sightseeing than staying in the house. It was partly because the estate was still a Fujimura property so he felt that it would be rude to explore the house without their permission.
(That and he never really spent that much time at home back in Tokyo. He doesn't like going back to the empty atmosphere at the home that is devoid of warmth.)
Eventually, the thought of exploring the estate faded from his mind (Because he had no use of any room besides the bedroom, bathroom and kitchen) until last month, once he was more comfortable around Taiga and realized that he had barely explored the house outside of its main building.
It was when he finally decided to explore is when he found it.
It was in the shed. The storehouse's old and rusty appearance greatly contrasted the nice and well cared main building. For some reason, he got chills when he was in front of it. And when he opened the door and went inside...
There was something that was drawn on the ground, it looked so old it was practically engraved. Yu could tell that this was a magic circle, however the patterns looked a lot more complex compared to what he had seen in the internet.
It made him wonder if the previous owner of this estate, the same person Taiga sometimes told stories about, was a religious person and a member of the occult. But the next thing he found was something that just couldn't get it out of his mind no matter how much he wanted.
Is Taiga-san aware that Emiya Kiritsugu might be a former terrorist?
The amount of firearms he found in the storage cabinet was very alarming, especially with how difficult it is to get a gun in Japan. There were lots of different kinds of guns inside. And it's a wonder how it was never found. Perhaps the yakuza boss is aware of this?
Yu doesn't think that this is something Taiga wouldn't make a big deal out of, so it's most likely that she doesn't know. But maybe her grandfather...?
Eh, he'll think about that later. It's almost time for school.
Once Narukami Yu existed the estate, The silver-haired teen then walked towards the nearest local high school, Homurahara Academy.
Either he was unaware of it or he simply did not care, the middle-schooler walked through the gates of Homurahara with the school's idol of high school level beside him. Both of them unaware of the unexpected future that will tackle them very, very soon.
They were also unaware of a golden butterfly landing onto the steel gates of the school, completely unnoticed by everyone.
I'm still thinking what kind of POV I should write. I'm also thinking of just writing straight to the point instead of just writing in long, complicated paragraphs because that's usually what takes away my motivation. I'm considering a beta reader but I'm too shy to ask anyone.
Just to note everyone who has already seen my previous Fate/Persona works (like Persona 5: Master of Assassin for example), this is a Fate/Persona AU that I have given more thought than the previous ones. However, the plot is still a complete mess in my head and I would really appreciate any ideas suggestions in the comments on how to progress the plot (that is, if I ever get the motivation to do so).
Though, I say that, I am actually just writing this for fun so there aren't any update schedules.
Also, I'm pretty sure there will be mistakes on Magecraft here in this story (because it's far too complicated for me to fully understand) due to my lack of knowledge on the history of magic.
So if any of you see my mistakes or magic/magecraft bs, let's... just look away and pretend it's part of the story.
I love hearing your opinions so comments/reviews are greatly appreciated!
Question(s) for Readers (More will be added):
1.) What do you guys think will be the Arcana of the Fate cast? Both Master and Servant?
2.) What do you think will be the Personas of Rin, Sakura, Illya and Bazett? (If it ever comes down to that)
