Edit: Not a new chapter, so sorry guys had to re upload! Just noticed a few mechanical errors-maybe I need to proofread before 3 am next time Lol.

"I think I'd like to be a psychic." Jo was laying on her back, sprawled on a blanket looking up at the sky on the courtyard. Rose rolled over from her back to look at her, smiling.

"What, the muggle ones? Like in the movies?"
"Mm," Jo replied, grinning."I went to one once, last summer with my muggle friend Caroyln."

"Yeah?" Rose questioned, nodding her head towards Jo's abandoned book." What did she say? That you were going to fail your O.W.L.?" she teased, grinning at her.

"No!" Jo replied stiffly."She said that I would be coming into money soon, I'd be finding lots of love and have children later on, and that I would die of either old age or a sudden tragedy." She recited, smiling brightly

Rose laughed slightly, despite herself."Wow, I wonder what she didn't tell you, then. Did she know you were a witch?"
"Nope!" Jo grinned."Though she did think I could have also been psychic. Hence why I want to become a muggle psychic."

"If she couldn't pick up on you being a wizard, I question her credentials. Isn't that unethical, anyway? Being capable of magic and all."

"Just the opposite." Jo rolled her eyes."It's not like I can tell the future, not really, but at least I'm not selling them completely, I'd be doing people a favor"

"Riiight. Much better." Rose replied, deciding to give up the argument in order to turn back to her book.

"So," Jo pulled her book back down, smiling. There goes that."Are you going to the game tomorrow?"

Rose groaned, tossing her book away altogether."Oh, not only am I going to the game, but I'm also being dragged to the party afterward, which is totally an issue if we get caught because head girls aren't supposed to go to parties, but whatever." Rose made a mental note to pray to Merlin later that maybe, something good would happen like the Quidditch pitch could burn down, or perhaps everyone on both teams could get suddenly sick with lycanthropy. Something good.

Jo squealed, elated, evidently ignoring Rose's tone."What?! How did that happen?"
"I promised Al." She said, laughing slightly. Throughout all the craziness of her nana being sick and her and Al fighting and spending most of her weekend at St. Mungo's, she hadn't gotten to see Jo and her family nearly as much as she would like to. Maybe she wasn't really that upset about going to this particular party this one time, but no one really needed to know that.

"I'll have to ask him what spell he used to get you to agree to all that. So, Who do you think is gonna win? Gryffindor or Slytherin? Or are you obliged not to answer that?" Jo questioned, smirking.

Rose laughed, rolling her eyes. "Much to James's, and maybe my dismay, I think it'll be Slytherin."

Jo sighed, frowning slightly but nodded. She didn't play Quidditch, but as an avid watcher, she still cheered passionately for Gryffindor who wasn't doing particularly great this season.

"Yeah, well Scorpius and Al will be happy at least." She brightened slightly.

Rose shrugged."Should be. The two of them are carrying the team." She said, making Jo grin, staring at her."What?" Rose asked defensively.

"Did I just hear Rose Weasley give Scorpius Malfoy a compliment?'

Rose blushed, rolling her eyes."Oh, just because he's good at quidditch doesn't mean I like him."

"No, you just like his mother."

"Exactly!" Rose giggled, picking up her book again and opening it to the page she had bookmarked."Hey, did you know that octopus urine can clean out almost any wound? It's in salvages."

"No, Rosie, weirdly enough, I didn't know that."

Xx

"Roooooooooooooooooooooose." Jo's voice, accompanied with an annoying tapping on Rose's stomach, was absolutely not the way Rose would have asked to be woken up.

"Hmph." Rose's eyes stayed shut as the tapping persisted.

"Rooooose." Another tap.

Rose groaned and turned away from Jo, attempting to grasp on the sleep being stolen from her.

"Rooose." This tap was more forceful and caused Rosie to sit up momentarily, hit Jo as hard as she could with a pillow, followed by her flopping down on her bed with a 'hmph'.

"Fuck! Ow! Rose! You fucking gremlin!" Jo threw the pillow back at her, her soft tone melting."Get up! The game starts soon!"

"I'm not going." Rose huffed, slowly sitting up. Jo rolled her eyes, not having it.

"Yeah, you are. You promised me and you promised Al." Jo said, throwing a Gryffindor jumper over her top."Now, are you wearing your Weasley sweater or do you want to borrow one of my house sweaters?"

"Weasley sweater." She grumbled, slowly getting out of bed. She was not exactly known for being in a good mood when she woke up, particularly on the weekends. She grabbed the first one she could find and threw it on over her head, then looked in the mirror, frowned, and grabbed a different sweater, smirking.

"What was wrong with the first one?" Jo asked, brushing her hair.
"This is last years. It's tighter." Rose checked herself out then started to work on the grueling process of doing her hair.

Jo laughed, grinning at her."Oooo, saucy Rosie. You have your eye on someone?"
She shrugged, twisting her hair into a bun and pulling pieces to frame her face."No, but it doesn't mean I couldn't potentially."

"Well, Scorpius's mom is going to be devastated, but I'm happy to hear you're moving on from a certain brunette Quidditch player."

Rose groaned, rolling her eyes."Me and Dean have been over since the summer, and you know I ended it with him." She half lied, not really committed to telling her the entire story.

"Riiiight." Jo singsonged, grabbing her bag."You ready?"

"Let's go!" Rose said in a fake cheery voice, laughing as Jo hit her bum on the way out

Xx

"Rosie!" Al grinned at her at breakfast, where Scorpius, Lily, and Hugo were sitting crowded at the Gryffindor table, ignoring the looks they were getting from both the SLytherin table and the one they were currently sitting at.

Jo presented her, smiling broadly."How amazing am I, I actually managed to get her out of bed."

"Hey! I get up fine on my own." Rose pouted, sitting next to Hugo and Lily, knowing what she said was a lie. She stayed up late studying a lot, most nights really, so when she finally succumbed to her exhaustion, her body clung onto sleep like a smoker would their last inhale from a cigarette

Hugo smirked, ruffling her hair."Posie, you threw a hairbrush at me two months ago because I asked you what type of bagel you wanted dad to get you."

"That was at 8 AM, I had been up all night studying, and you know I like raisins." Rose decided to not bring up her nicely not throwing the huge book at Hugo, which she almost did do.

"It was summer, and raisins are disgusting."

"Yeah, well, you're disgusting."
"At least I can get up on my ow-" Hugo's retort was cut off by Al elbowing him in the stomach, rolling his eyes. Scorpius was watching the encounter, Rose suspected he was keeping note of a new potential flaw of Rose's to bring up next time they argued, however, his face was nearly emotionless as he was all but staring directly at her. She frowned slightly at him and he looked away, slightly abashedly.

"Alright, alright, you two are already annoying me now," Al said, still smiling, though Rose could feel he was tense. There was nothing Albus took more seriously than Quidditch, and he was known for being in a mood before games, hence part of the reason Rose preferred to stay in bed while the rest of the family watched or played the sport.

Well, that and the aforementioned sleeping thing.

"Why are you wearing your old Weasley sweater?" Hugo asked noisily, his mouth full of food, and Rose noticed Scorpius's eyes immediately drop down to his plate.

She blushed slightly, almost laughing at the idea of trying to explain to her family she was trying to look cute for a Quidditch game."My one from last Christmas was dirty."She lied, rolling her eyes.

Al frowned at her."Do you want to borrow mine? I have a little bit of time before we have to go out, I can run up and grab mine, I think it's the only thing I own with no Slytherin coloring on it-"

Jo rolled her eyes, cutting him off by throwing a grape at his face. You know, like a classy adult."She's fine, she's hot, maybe the boys on the Gryffindor team will be so distracted by her, it'll end up helping you guys win." Jo grinned, making Rose blush and look away.

"Um, yeah," Lily interjected, pouting."Why do you get all the curves? Unfair."

Hugo coughed, uncomfortable."Alright, as much as I want to hurl before announcing the game, I'd rather talk about, well, anything else."

Al laughed, equally uncomfortable."Not like we'll need the distraction. We've got this in the bag, right, Scorp?" Al said, in an attempt to sound casual, but Rose was aware of the edge in his tone.

Albus continued to try to pour some more orange juice into his goblet, but his hand was shaking so much it ended up spilling onto Jo, who opened her mouth to yell but was stopped by the panicked look on Albus's face, relieving him with a gruff 'thanks' when he handed her about ten napkins to clean up, despite her immediate 'scourgify' spell.

Albus's nerves were distracting him, Rose could that much, but she hadn't the slightest idea of why. Sure, he isn't usually totally himself before a game, but he was right, they were projected to win (much to the dismay of everyone else) and Al had had his best season yet so far. Maybe it was just the awkward situation of playing against his father and mother's former team, she reasoned.

Scorpius, previously completely absent from this conversation, grinned at Al."Hey, chill out, we're going to win. Maybe we'll even luck out and Mcmillan will 'forget' about the game again." He smiled evilly at Al, who laughed quietly.

Rose frowned at them."Wait, I heard about that. Henry just like, didn't show up to the game, it was really weird." She noted, before snapping her head up and looking up between Scorpius and Al."Oh my god, if you two confounded him, I'm going to-" Before she could finish what would have been a rather violent threat, Scorpius stopped her, rolling his eyes

"What, tell my mom?" Scorpius taunted."Come on Albie, we should get going before Rose draws even more attention to herself."

Albus, who looked to be completely in his own world, reluctantly stood up with Scorpius and headed out, bidding them farewell with a 'see you after the game!' but Rose couldn't help but notice just how off Al was being.

She opened her mouth, ready to ask Lily about it but closed it abruptly when she was met with a smirk.

"What?" Rose asked, leaning back from her cousin, immediately suspicious.

"You look pretty." Lily grinned, making Rose roll her eyes, blushing slightly.

"Nope. We're not doing this."

"Come on! You never come to Quidditch games, and you do today, and you look hot-"

"This is why I don't go!"
"No," Hugo interrupted, looking grossed out by the conversation."You don't go to Quidditch games because you're boring and are allergic to fun." Hugo finished, standing up to go to the game.

Rose rolled her eyes."He's in a good mood." She grumbled."Ready?" She stood up, hoping to divert Lily's focus.

Lily rolled her eyes but allowed the conversation to end, linking her arm through Rose's as she stood up."Well I, for one, am looking forward to seeing Professor Carter's bum in his casual attire at the match."

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

For a game that she had never paid any real mind to, Rose was oddly invested in the Slytherin v Gryffindor Quidditch game. Gryffindor was winning-barely though, and as most Slytherin vs Gryffidnor games seemed to go, it was really down to who found the snitch first. So, Malfoy v Thomas Mills. It might be close, but where Thomas was great, Scorpius was brilliant.

Rose's interest potentially rooted from her forgetting what Al looked like when he was this passionate, this excited about something. He didn't feel this way about anything they did in school, or anything outside of it. She remembered the first time Al (and herself, actually) had

However, as much as she missed seeing Al, she also felt her eyes continue to wander towards Slytherin's seeker. Scorpius was focused on nothing else but locating the snitch and with his brows furrowed and his eyes scouring Rose momentarily felt as drawn to him as she was drawn to the snitch.

She noticed his concentrated face suddenly break out in a grin that made her glad she was not the object of his chase.

Scorpius saw the snitch just half a second before Mills-which might as well have been minutes with how quickly his broom turned and Scorpius was steering towards the small ball like his life depended on it.
Thomas Mills, in an attempt that seemed to be just for show, geared his own broom towards Scorpius but the up roar from Slytherin was deafening while most of the Gryffindor team seemed to already be walking off from the pitch and Rose was smiling despite herself, excited to see how ecstatic Albus would be

Rose's face dropped suddenly, and the cheering aro as she watched Al, who had seemed to fall off his broom and barrel directly into Scorpius, bringing them both to a heap on the ground.

Thomas Mills, grasping the momentary tumble, swept in and grabbed the snitch, his closeness to the ground causing him to slide a few feet away from Albus and Scorpius, who seemed to be wrestling on the ground crowd, who was stunned with silence for a minute, as the energies shifted in a circle around the pitch and suddenly, Gryffindor was screaming and Slytherin was in a stunned silence and Rose could barely feel Jo's hand tightening around her arm because did that really just happen.

She snapped slightly out of it as her and Lily ran down to go separate Albus and Scorpius, who were screaming at each other in a way Rose hadn't seen either of them fight

"Bloody fucking Hell, Albus-"

"Did I not just say that I was sorry-"

"You could've broken my arm!"
"Well, I didn't! And I'm fine, thank you for asking-"
"Not to mention you just cost us this match! You know how important this game was, you never fluke like that!" Scorpius finished his sentence waving his arms about, before his demeanor darkened at Al's eyes suddenly averting. "You never fluke like that."

"And what,"Al's voice was now a whisper, "are you trying to say?"

The intensity of Al's tone subconsciously brought Rose's hand to her wand as her and Lily watched the two of them fight, no one else daring to get any closer. Scorpius opened his mouth, then quickly snapped it shut and held his hands up, shaking his head.

"Nothing, Al. I'll see you later." Scorpius muttered, pushing past him gruffly. Rose and Lily stared at Al as he looked down towards the grass, his face flushed.

"Glad you came, huh, Rosie?" He asked without humor, brushing past them without waiting for an answer, '

leaving the girls to try to digest what the fuck had just happened.

"We should…" Rose started

"Let them cool down?"

"Talk to Al?" Rose and Lily's responses were simultaneous and though maybe unsurprising, the girls still rolled their eyes at each other.

"Let them cool down?! I'm not convinced they haven't gone up there to kill each other!" The girls were fighting through a crowd now, Rose shoving people out of the way as she turned to look back at Lily with wild eyes.

Lily laughed despite herself."They're boys, they've probably gone to go drown themselves in the shower before the party."

"You think they'll still be going?" Rose asked, doubtfully, shoving someone out of her way with her elbow, ignoring the 'oi!' shouted at her

"Well, they'll want to drown themselves with fire whiskey when the shower thing doesn't work."

ROse grimaced, she had sort of hoped the unexpected loss would mean she could avoid the party altogether."So you think Al will still be expecting me there?"
Lily grinned at her."I'll do your hair."

Xx

"Stop moving!"
"Lily, you're hurting me!"

"I wouldn't be if you stopped moving!"
"You're pulling my hair! Would you like me to remove my head from my neck?"
"Well if that's an option, then yes, if you could you be so kind as to decapitate yourself."

Rose glared at her, opening her mouth when Jo cut her off, throwing a top at her.
"Lil, are you almost done with her? I wanna get going." Jo interrupted, changing into a pair of jeans.
"Yeah, can you help me get this shirt on Rosie? I dont want to ruin her hair, and I know she'll fuck up all my hard work if I let her put the shirt on herself."
"Hey! I'm sitting right here!" Rose yelled indignantly, looking up at both of them.

Jo ignored her, walking over to them and holding the top up."Put your arms up." She said, as if speaking to a child. Rose glared at her in a way that made Jo's tone not totally inappropriate

"You're kidding."

"Arms up or I'm going to petrify them."
Rose huffed and put her arms up, letting Lily carefully slide the sweater over her head and put the new top on, nearly kicking her when she hissed a 'Careful!' at her, blushing slightly as the girls struggled.

"There!" Lily grinned at her, holding her wand up."Now stay still! One last thing."

Rose's eyes widened, ducking her head."Yeah, no, your wand is not getting that close to my hair-or head." She said, standing up, ignoring Lily's whining about needing to 'set' everything.

"Fine, whatever, let's go, but I don't want to hear it if you end up looking a mess by the end of the night."

"God, I only hope you look a mess by the end of the night," Jo smirked at her, outstretching her arms. Rolling her eyes, Rose linked her arms between Jo and Lily's.

"I still can't believe I'm doing this," Rose grumbled, following them quietly into the Slytherin common rooms quietly.
"Yeah, honestly, I can't believe you are either, Rosie."

"And what is it that we cannot believe Miss Weasley is doing?" A voice came from behind them, making Rose's heart jump.

The girls' footsteps stopped in their tracks as they all froze, sharing looks. Professor Carter was raising an eyebrow expectantly at them, though a small smile was tugging at his lips.

Rose was the first to slowly turn around, a fake smile plastered on her face.

"Um...Doing the herbology essay on the healing properties of Moondew. I know way more about, say, Belladonna, but...You know me, always pushing myself." Rose's lie ended more like a question than a statement, making Professor Carter chuckle.
"Right, that I do. you girls are awfully dressed up for going to the library." He said knowingly, though Rose continued stumbling through her story.
"Ha, right, well, they say you've got to dress for success, right?" Her laugh was nervous and she would've been totally fine if Jo or Lily stepped in at any possible moment rather than letting her continue to flop

"Right," Carter winked at them, "Well, try not to push yourself too much tonight, Miss Weasley. Your hair looks nice like that, wouldn't want to ruin it with too much...studying." He smirked slightly at them and walked off, leaving all three of them giggling while Rose blushed.

"I cannot believe we just got away with that," Jo said, laughing

"Yeah, no thanks to you guys!"

"Oh, you were fine." Lily insisted, giggling

"I wasn't! I'm a terrible liar!"

"True, but you're one of his favorite students. He likes you! And your hair, apparently." Lily added, causing the girls to break out in laughter again.

Soon enough they had made their way to the Slytherin dungeons and Rose braced herself for the night ahead of her, squeezing Lily's hand before knocking on the stone door.
