25 Days of BeChloe Christmases - 2020
Day
17 - I Just Wanted A Quiet Christmas (With My Girlfriend)

Prompt from FanFiction User tc2015: How about a BeChloe Christmas fluff when they are already an established couple, maybe something where they stay home just the two of them.

It was just after midnight when Beca Mitchell walked into her home after being on the road for close to nine months. She sighed and thanked her driver as he set her luggage inside the door.

Beca tipped the driver and he left. She grabbed two of her suitcases and kicked the door shut; slamming it. Beca winced at the sound.

Suddenly, a deep voice called out, "I have a gun and I know how to use it!"

Beca dropped the suitcases, laughing as she said, "Bring it on, babe!"

"BECA!" Chloe screamed and ran down the stairs and straight into Beca's outstretched arms.

"Hey, babe," Beca said as Chloe peppered her face with kisses.

"You're home early," Chloe said, her arms still wrapped around Beca's neck.

"I missed you," Beca said, leaning in for a real kiss.

"As Meg Ryan said in Top Gun," Chloe said. "Take me to bed or lose me forever."

"A movie reference?" Beca questioned. "Seriously?"

"I said what I said," Chloe responded.

Beca laughed, grabbing Chloe's hand as she ran for the stairs. Chloe's giggles bounced off the walls as she barely managed to keep up with Beca.

Beca stopped when she reached their bedroom door. She pulled Chloe to her. "I love you."

"I love you, too," Chloe said as she pushed Beca up against the door and smashed their lips together.

The next morning, Beca woke with a smile on her face and her girlfriend staring at her.

"Stop staring," Beca mumbled as she stretched. "It's creeping me out."

"I can't help it," Chloe said. "I've missed seeing your face, so I'm going to keep looking at it until I'm satisfied that this is not a dream and you're really home."

Beca smiled and turned on her side to face Chloe.

"Have I told you lately that I love you?" Beca asked.

"You have," Chloe said, smirking. "And you showed me last night how much. Several times."

Beca blushed slightly.

"I do love you," Beca said, pulling Chloe close and kissing her.

Chloe pulled back from the kiss. "I was thinking of making pancakes for breakfast."

"I'm in," Beca blurted. "I've missed your pancakes."

"Pancakes it is then," Chloe said and climbed over Beca to get out of bed.

Chloe grabbed a pair of sweats and a tee-shirt. She put them on while Beca watched her.

"What?" Beca said. "No naked cooking?"

"Not today, you perv," Chloe said, laughing as she headed for the door. She stopped and looked at Beca. "Do you want me to bring the food up here? Or are you coming downstairs?"

"I'll come downstairs," Beca said, jumping out of bed.

Beca grabbed a pair of shorts and a tee-shirt and quickly put them on. She followed Chloe out the door and down the stairs.

Beca stopped when she was at the bottom and looked around.

"How did I not notice you had already decorated for Christmas?"

"I think you had something else on your mind," Chloe said.

~~ Day 17 of the 25 Days of BeChloe Christmases - 2020 ~~

Beca and Chloe sat at their kitchen counter, drinking coffee. Remnants of breakfast on the plates sitting in front of them.

"My folks want to know if we're going to Tampa for Christmas," Chloe said. "Your mom wants to know if we want to go to Portland. And your dad wants us to go to Barden."

"How about none of the above?" Beca said. "Can we just stay at home? I've been on the road for nine months and I want to spend time in my own home with my girlfriend."

"But we always go somewhere," Chloe said.

"Not this year," Beca said, getting up from her seat and moving to stand behind Chloe. "How about we just tell everyone we're visiting someone else and we stay here by ourselves."

Beca was standing behind Chloe and wrapped her arms around Chloe's waist. She kissed the side of Chloe's neck.

"You give a compelling argument," Chloe said and moaned.

Beca kissed her neck again, eliciting another moan. "Does that mean we're staying home?"

"No," Chloe said, causing Beca to pull away to look at her.

"Why not?" Beca whined.

"Babe," Chloe said, standing to put her arms around Beca's neck. "You know the only time we see either of our folks is Christmas."

"What if I promise we can go see them during your Spring Break?" Beca said. "Come on, Chlo, this could be our last chance to have Christmas with just the two of us. Once we get married and start having kids, Christmas will no longer be ours. Can't we be a little bit selfish just this once? Please?"

Chloe sighed and kissed Beca. "Okay," she said.

"Really?" Beca squealed.

Chloe nodded and said, "Bu-ut-"

Beca squinted her eyes at Chloe. "But what?"

"But," Chloe said. "You have to tell both our folks that we're not going to theirs this year."

"Deal," Beca said and kissed Chloe again.

Beca grabbed the breakfast dishes and took them to the sink. She rinsed them and was placing them in the dishwasher, smiling from ear to ear the whole time.

"Don't think for one second I forgot about your 'us having kids' comment," Chloe said, watching Beca cleaning the dishes.

"Oh, you caught that, did you?" Beca asked, smiling over her shoulder at Chloe.

"I did," Chloe said. "We've never talked about kids before."

"Isn't that how the old nursery rhyme goes?" Beca asked, moving to take Chloe in her arms. "First, comes love. Check; we have that. Then comes marriage. Not checked yet, but it will be down the road. Then comes the baby in a baby carriage. Again, not checked yet, but it will be down the road. Are you okay with that?

"I'm totes okay with that," Chloe said, smiling.

"Good," Beca said. "I'm glad we're on the same page. Now, what do you want to do today?"

"Why don't you take me upstairs and show me how much you love me again?" Chloe suggested.

~~ Day 17 of the 25 Days of BeChloe Christmases - 2020 ~~

Later that afternoon, Beca was making the calls to let their families know they weren't coming for Christmas.

"I know, Charlotte," Beca said into the phone. "But we've been to Tampa two years in a row and my dad pulled the guilt card on me. I feel like we owe it to him to go to Barden for Christmas. Plus, Chloe and I talked about it and we're planning to come to Tampa during her Spring Break."

"The whole week?" Charlotte asked.

"Yes, ma'am," Beca said, giving Chloe a thumbs up. "The whole week."

"We'll take it," Charlotte said. "Give Chloe my love and tell her I'll talk to her later."

"I will," Beca said. "Love you guys."

Beca was smiling as she ended the call.

"Should I worry about how easily you lied to my mother just now?"

"I'll make it up to her by sending them an awesome Christmas gift," Beca said.

"You told my mom we'd see them during Spring Break," Chloe said. "What are you going to tell your dad and mom?"

"Um, I'll give my dad the Fourth of July," Beca said. "And my mom, her birthday. They're both in the summer so it should work out."

"Okay," Chloe said. "That sounds like it might work."

"Great," Beca said. "I'm going to call my dad."

Chloe felt like the whole plan of staying home was going to come back and bite them in the ass. The feeling was realized when a week later she got a call from Aubrey asking about what she and Beca were doing for Christmas.

"Um, uh," Chloe hemmed and hawed. "Brey, I'm going to have to call you back. My mom's calling and I really need to talk to her about something."

"Okay," Aubrey said. "I'll talk to you later."

Chloe ended the call and immediately called Beca.

"Hey, babe," Beca answered the call.

"What are we going to tell the Bellas about Christmas?" Chloe asked. "I was just talking to Brey and she asked what our plans were."

"Um, tell Aubrey that we're going to my mom's," Beca said. "That way she won't expect us to be near Atlanta."

"I can't lie to Aubrey," Chloe said. "You'll have to tell her."

Beca sighed. "I can't talk to her until I get home from the studio."

"I'll tell her we're still figuring it out," Chloe said. "And I'll let her know once we decide."

"Okay," Beca said. "I'll be home around six tonight. Do you want to go out to dinner?"

"Could you pick something up on your way?" Chloe asked.

"I can do that," Beca said. "Decide what you want and call in the order. Text me to let me know where I'm going."

"Okay," Chloe said. "I love you."

"I love you, too."

~~ Day 17 of the 25 Days of BeChloe Christmases - 2020 ~~

It was finally Christmas and Beca and Chloe had spent their first Christmas Eve alone. Beca had managed to let all the Bellas know that she and Chloe would be in Portland for Christmas so no one knew they were home.

Beca woke early on Christmas morning and was sneaking downstairs to make sure everything was ready for Chloe to open her gifts. She heard a noise and froze on the last step, listening to see if the sound had come from the kitchen. She heard it again and quietly padded toward the kitchen. She pushed open the kitchen door to see Amy standing at the counter. Beca's eyes widened when she noticed the container of yogurt Amy had in one hand and the spoon in the other.

"Amy!" Beca yelled. "Drop that spoon!"

Amy let go of the spoon and it clattered to the counter.

"Oh, my God, Beca," Amy said, grabbing her chest. "Are you trying to give me a heart attack?"

"What the actual fuck, Amy?" Beca yelled. "How did you get in here?"

"You gave me a key in case of emergency," Amy said.

"And what's the emergency where you needed to use our key?"

"I heard you weren't going to be home for Christmas," Amy said. "And I needed a place to stay for a couple of days."

Beca stomped over to Amy and grabbed the yogurt from her hand.

"What's going on down here?" Chloe asked as she rushed into the kitchen.

"Amy decided she needed a place to stay," Beca said. "And broke in."

"I did not break in," Amy said. "I have a key. What are you two doing here?"

"We actually live here," Beca said.

"We just wanted to spend Christmas alone with each other, Amy," Chloe explained. "And no one else."

"Can I have my yogurt back?" Amy asked, reaching for the container that was sill in Beca's hand.

"NO!" Beca said, holding the container close to her chest. "It's Chloe's favorite kind. And it's the last one."

"No, it isn't," Amy said. "I saw a few in the refrigerator when I was getting that one."

"This is a special kind," Beca said. "Just for Chloe."

Chloe looked at Beca and reached for the yogurt. Beca turned away from her, causing Chloe to look at Beca with a raised brow.

"May I have my special yogurt, please?" Chloe asked.

Beca sighed and said, "It wasn't supposed to be like this. It was supposed to be just you and me."

"What's going on Beca?" Chloe asked.

Amy stood at the counter. Beca had her back to Amy as Amy watched Beca and Chloe, bouncing her eyes from one to the other like she was watching a tennis match.

"I had something special planned for you," Beca said quietly.

"And it has something to do with the special yogurt you're holding?"

"Yes," Beca said.

"May I have the yogurt?"

"No. The surprise is ruined."

"Please?"

Beca reached into the drawer behind her and pulled out a spoon. She handed the yogurt and spoon to Chloe. Chloe took the spoon and stirred the yogurt.

"Let's see what makes this yogurt so special," Choe said, stirring the yogurt. She stopped and lifted the spoon out and looked at Beca. There was something on the spoon. Choe's eyes widened when she realized what it was. "Beca?"

"What is it?" Amy asked, trying to see around Beca to find out what was on the spoon.

Beca glared back at Amy and took the spoon from Chloe.

"Here, let me," Beca said, taking the spoon and sticking it in her mouth. She set the spoon and yogurt on the counter behind her and pulled the ring out of her mouth.

Chloe squealed and grabbed Beca.

"What was on the spoon?" Amy yelled.

Beca went to the sink and rinsed the ring off; drying it on her shirt. She turned and went down on one knee in front of Chloe.

"I was really hoping to do this without an audience," Beca said, taking Chloe's left hand in hers.

"It's okay," Chloe said, as a tear ran down her cheek. "Ignore Amy and just ask."

"Rude," Amy scoffed.

"Shut up, Amy, and let us have this," Beca said. She cleared her throat and looked up at Chloe. "Chloe Beale, you are the love of my life and I don't want to spend a moment of life without you by my side. I love you, so much. Will you marry me?"

Chloe reached down and placed her hands on Beca's cheeks and kissed her. "Yes," Chloe breathed out as she ended the kiss.

Beca smiled and took Chloe's hand in hers again. She placed the ring on Chloe's finger and then stood up to pull Chloe into another kiss.

"I'm so happy for you guys," Amy said and she pulled the two into a hug.

Chloe pulled away from Amy and Beca.

"I have to call my mom," Chloe said. "And Brey. And tell the Bellas."

Chloe ran out of the kitchen. Amy put an arm around Beca's shoulders.

"You know Aubrey's going to kill you for not letting her know about this," Amy said

"Yeah, I know," Beca said with a sigh.
