Time heals all wounds
Chapter Ten
While Leroy Jethro Gibbs was being finished with the last of the bullet fragments. He had gone into the White Tunnel once again like he always does over the years of his life ever since the deaths of Shannon and Kelly.
Even this time Gibbs had been sitting at the same table expecting to see Diane,
Mike Franks and others. But this time it was of a woman in her early forties with dark black hair.
She walked over to him.
"Who are you?" he said wondering whether he was dead or close to it. "Am I dead finally?" he said to the dark-haired woman.
"You're not dead daddy. Your friends were able to save your life. I came to you to let you know that I am alive and well as with mommy." she croaked out with the response placing a hand onto his shoulder.
"Who are you I asked again?" he was angry as it was showing with his heart rate rising almost to the point of having a heart attack.
"Don't you know who I am daddy? I am Kelly still alive after 34 years due to my mother's decision to call the Witness Protection Program a few days before Pedro Hernandez and his men were going to kill us. They had replaced us with doubles turning out to be deadly."
"I don't believe you?" he said with a snarl with his tone of voice and demeanor.
"Asked Marcie Warren? She had been investigating the story that she had not to mention to you. She found me in Orlando, Florida, and mother in California." Kelly says to her father and for which he was in disbelief with what she was saying to him. "
"I will ask her when I wake. Unless you're lying to me about living? But why tell me you're here in order to protect yourself from the Cartel or anyone else that might have found out that you're alive?" he responded with his words to the woman that claims to be his daughter.
"Mother is here in the area with her husband Alex along with my husband Colonel James Hawkins. She came to this hospital to speak with the doctors setting up a meeting to discuss the different options. When you do wake I will ask the doctors to stay with you. I am wondering if your Director Vance had sent Marcie to stay at your house?"
"Yes, they did from what I can tell. Since I was the one to be shot in the stomach?" It was at this point that she had disappeared from the area they were sitting at.
"Where did you go, Kelly?" He cried out with being pulled away from the White Tunnel.
Leroy Jethro Gibbs had been in ICU for an hour when all of a sudden the nurse had noticed that he was beginning to wake. Even though it was amazing! Doctor Taft and his associate were able to remove all of the bullet fragments along with making sure that Gibbs doesn't suffer from any further heart issues.
She called the doctors to come in having to be spending time in his office drinking coffee waiting. She had used the intercom to contact Doctor Taft in his office as his intercom was beeping green.
He pressed the button. "This is Taft what's going on nurse?" he said with slight allowance in his tone.
"Sir, Special Agent Gibbs is beginning to wake," she replied.
"Thanks, we will be right there!" he cried out with his response. He and Doctor Gilbert had gotten up gathering themselves to head for ICU.
Walking into Gibbs semi-darkened room. They were able to see him partially awake. Doctor Cyril Taft walked over to his side in order for him to see him.
"Jethro, can you hear me? It' Cyril I am surprised you're awake." he commented.
He opened his eyes completely. Tried to talk until Taft helped him with pouring him some water from the greywater pitcher. "Drink slowly since you have been operated on with all of the bullet fragments removed after being shot by Riveria." he had to say to his friend.
"I need to talk with Marcie whenever possible. It's extremely important!" he croaked out with the response and more cold water.
"She's at your house taking care of Lucy." Taft needed to say.
"I need her right away." he was getting frustrated.
"Fine. I will call her right now and let her know that you need to see her in person?" Cyril said to Gibbs.
"Good enough Doctor. Now let me sleep some until she gets here."
Doctor Cyril Taft pulled out his cell-phone in ICU with bringing up her cell-phone onto the screen. He pressed the send button...
GIBBS HOUSE
Lucy came over to the couch needing attention as Marcie was trying to sleep. Then all of a sudden her cell-phone was going off. She jumped up scaring Lucy slightly by jumping up to the couch to be near Marcie as she found it to be Doctor Taft.
She cursed. She had no choice to answer the phone. "Hello! This is Marcie how can I help you, Doctor? How is Jethro?" she asked to be extremely concern.
"He's awake and asking for you to come to the hospital since he said it was extremely important," Taft said with watching the reaction of his friend in the bed.
"Fine. I will be there as soon as possible. But will they be able to let me up to ICU having to be so late?" she responded.
"I will let the security officers downstairs have a pass ready for you to come up to the tenth floor." Doctor Taft had to say to her over the phone.
"Great! I will get dress right away while making sure that Lucy has enough water and food before I leave." Thank you, Doctor, for calling me." she said with hanging up to head for the kitchen to get Luck set up before getting herself ready.
