Days Gone Bye

Chapter 1

Olympian Throne Room,

On the 600th floor of the Empire State Building,

New York City

Sparks clashed between the two swords as they remained interlocked in combat between the two combatants. The older one begins to push back the younger one, his eyes a striking gold color flash blue every now and the. These flashes are when the younger boy strikes as his opponent seems to let up just a bit as hints of remorse show on his face every now and then.

The younger one begins to slip up more and more as the older one continues his barrage of attacks against him. One large push from the older boy manages to knock him down to the ground and causes him to be pushed back into an already crumbling pillar stunning the younger boy. A third character, this one a teenage blonde girl pleading from the sidelines for the older boy to stop. Bandages wrapped around her were once a pristine white now are instead a blood-soaked red.

"Please Luke, you have to be in there somewhere, just take back control, you can fight Kronos off. I believe in you."

The longest flash of the eyes turning blue lasts after the girl reaches out to him. Flashing a solid blue and remaining blue the older teens entire face softens as Luke turns to face her. "Annabeth help Percy, I can't hold him off for long. The weak spot it's on my …" His face contorts to one of great pain as the gold eyes take back over and Luke's face gains a sinister smirk. Keeping his gaze at Annabeth his eyes meet her grey ones as an entire chill runs through her body. "Now, now Daughter of Athena, that would be too much of an easy victory for you."

Percy meanwhile stands back up from the rubble of the once pillar. Seeing Kronos and his gaze and attention on Annabeth makes something in the boy snap. Letting out a scream of anger he sprints down towards the older teenager while the water in an uninhabited fish tank in the corner rushes out to join him. The water pooling around him as a sort of armor type replenishes his energy as he picks up steam.

Kronos, having already heard the boy's rage laughs and lifts his sword in a defensive grip as sparks flash between the crashing swords. The water shooting out from the water armor in tendrils attempting to find a weak spot in the older guy's armor. One of the tendrils getting close to his left side causes Kronos to gasp in pain as the sudden surprise gives way back to letting Luke take control.

Gasping out from the pain of his weak spot almost getting hit he looks down at the side before looking at Percy and nodding. "Yes, right there. Quick Percy take me out before Kronos fully takes over." To annunciate his point flashing golden cracks are beginning to beg showing themselves their way up Luke's leg.

Slowly nodding, Percy raises his sword and stabs Luke in his left side, the one spot on him that was weak due to the curse of Achilles. Just as the sword was making contact time slows down around all three bodies. As Luke's body begins to crumble away mixed with the blood pouring out from his left side of the stomach he suddenly freezes and stands with perfect posture as if he didn't have a sword sticking out of his side.

Golden eyes showing Kronos was back in power he looks at the crumbling body, his powers over time giving him the ability to slow it down as his vessel bleeds out to death. "Stupid mortal emotions, the boy had to stick strong but his feeling towards that blonde girl clouded his ability to see my vision for the future. What a pity, he would've been strongly rewarded in my new afterlife." Turning his gaze towards the frozen Son of Poseidon his eyes hardened even more.

"And this insufferable brat. Deciding to punish me and send me back to Tartarus. And now he gets to live a hero's victory? Not likely. If I have to go back to the underworld, he can join me." Walking to the back of the Son of Poseidon he remembers something one of the sons of Apollo that he used as a spy mentioned to Luke. When that Annabeth girl Luke cared for was stabbed, he had mentioned that she protected his weak spot.

Smirking he looks right at the small of the back for the Son of Poseidon before grabbing the dagger that the Daughter of Athena used. Stabbing the boy in the back Kronos allows time to resume properly as the body of Luke/Kronos crumples quickly to the ground.

Annabeth looking at the scene before her can do nothing but watch as both of the guys that she cared for in her life, Luke like a brother, and Percy as if more, crumbles lifeless to the ground. Rushing over she checks on Luke first seeing his already lifeless eyes letting her know he already passed on.

Quickly Percy letting out very haggard breaths causes her to run and check on him. Her grey eyes meeting his sea-green ones, her eyes finally let loose all the tears she was holding back. Letting out a pained smile attempting to alleviate her of her pain Percy tries calming her down. "Hey, it's ok, Wise Girl." Coughing out some blood Annabeth's tears fall faster seeing her friend/something else die before her. "Shh, shh, shh. It's ok. I'm a hero it's what I was born to do. Just don't forget me. But please be happy."

Words being caught in her throat Annabeth grabs him and just holds him in an embrace as his ragged breathing comes to an end as his body dies in her hands, and he moves onto what she assumes would only be Elysium.

The office of Lady Styx,

The Greek Underworld,

Los Angeles California

Two bodies both appear in the dark black office belonging to the deity of the River Styx. Both of these bodies belong to both Luke Castellan and Perseus Jackson. The two teenagers who had fought to the death on Olympus and were expected to end up in the lines in the underworld hoping to be judged and sorted were surprised to instead end up in the office.

The anger that Percy holds towards Luke still was showing, as he turns to Luke preparing to fight the older teen again as Luke in turn turns to defend himself against the younger boy. As Percy searches his pockets, he's unable to locate the pen that magically bonded to his body and that doubles as his sword Riptide. Preparing to lunge at the guy who has made his life a living hell since he was 12 Percy is suddenly halted as the door to the office opens as a woman with pale skin and pitch-black hair enters.

Dressed in an Ancient Greek chiton the same color black as her hair she looks annoyed and mildly angry as the two teens who are about to fight in her office turn and look at her. Confusion covering both of their faces, a magical force pushes them both into their chairs and binds them to them as she walks around the desk and sits in the plump office chair designated for her.

"Both of you children will sit down and shut up until I prompt you to speak. Understand?" Both of them nod and the woman nods to herself. "Good, I'm Lady Styx and the both of you have broken an oath upon my river while also bearing the curse of it. I'm here to hand down your punishment onto you."

Luke looks down ashamed as he thinks back to the promise that he had made upon the Styx. The same promise and oath that is causing him to be here today.

The Woods around Camp Half-Blood

Long Island, New York

A much younger Luke was relaxing in the woods around Camp along with a much younger Annabeth. The girl smiling and looking at Luke as if he's the greatest hero in the world. Letting out a peaceful sigh he leans back onto the boulder more commonly known as Zeus's Fist. As Annabeth also relaxes closer to the ground a thought occurs to her.

"Hey Luke, do you promise that the two of us will always remain a family? To both always be there for each other?"

Sitting up at the seemingly random question from the much younger girl he looks down at her with confusion filled eyes. "Of course, I do. But what is bringing this question up?"

Annabeth should've been relieved but being the young child she is, she instead looks up at Luke insistingly. "That's not a real promise Luke, everyone is always leaving me, I need you to make sure you never do as well."

Letting out a laugh at the young girl's pouting face Luke lets out a sigh as she pleads with him to agree. Alright fine. "I swear on the River Styx to always be family with you and to never leave you."

Thunder booms off in the distance as his Oath is accepted to never leave Annabeth and to always be family with her. The young girl letting out a happy grin while the Teenager thinks about how this girl had him wrapped around his finger.

Luke's eyes begin to grow heavy as he looks down ashamed of himself for breaking the oath. Lady Styx notices this and grows a small sad smile as Luke accepts his punishment for breaking his oath on the Styx.

"I see young demigod; you remember the oath that you had made to that young girl. To always be there for her and to always be her family. Sadly, while the girl still thinks of you as family, you still failed to uphold the always be there for her, especially with how you treated her during your time serving Kronos."

Luke slowly nods his head as he can't even meet the deity's eyes due to his great shame. Lady Styx nodding as Luke accepts his punishment turns over to Percy who himself was beginning to gain a look of great shame as he also thinks about his broken oath upon the Styx. One that, unlike Luke he had made only a few days before.

Cabin 3; Poseidon Cabin,

Camp Half-Blood

Long Island, New York.

Percy sits in his cabin facing the message made of mist as his mom looks extremely worried towards him. Looking sheepish as his mom looks worried about him as her eyes show red from tears.

Trying to placate her mom Percy looks her in her red eyes, tear stained from crying over the thought of him dying. "Mom I'll be fine, yes, it's a war but I also have Annabeth backing me up. Nothing bad will happen to me."

Slowly nodding his mom looks him over. "I know you'll probably be alright, but it's a mother's job to worry about her son. Especially when he's facing down an entire army in war."

Opening his mouth to interject Percy tries to point out that he's invincible he has the Curse of Achilles. Waving her hand dismissively, his mom continues speaking. "And yes, I know that you have the Curse, I just worry."

Percy being the rash guy he is, speaks up without thinking. "Mom, I swear on the River Styx, that I'll be fine and completely alright. I'll be home fine after we defeat Kronos."

Thunder ringing in the background his oath is accepted while his mom looks a little more relieved at his oath before finally giving him a small smile.

"Thank you, Percy. That really means a lot to me."

"No problem mom, it's the least that I can do."

Relaxation washing over the two of them, they turn into a normal conversation, but both still have nagging thoughts about the upcoming war that they attempt to forget as they continue to talk about more normal stuff.

Present Day

Lady Styx's gaze meets Percy's eyes, his sea-green eyes showing misery as he realizes how heart broken his mom will be when she realizes everything that happened. Including her blaming herself for why she'll never be able to see her son until they meet in Elysium.

Slowly nodding Lady Styx looks them both over. "Well, you both seem to remember your broken oaths, while you two truly are heroes I have to uphold the Ancient Laws of my River." The two demigods were too ashamed to comment so she continues speaking. "Well as the punishment neither of you will ever see the Greek Underworld, those family members you both made Oaths to, then broke will never see your faces again. You two will live on in another universe, forced to remain in a world of survival similar to your own."

Percy's heart breaks even more as he realizes that his mom will never get to see him again, and the depression she'll feel from having him make that oath. As he continues to be deep in thought Luke looks up towards the river deity daring to ask the question both demigods are thinking.

"And where is this world will we end up?"

Lady Styx smirks at him. "That will ruin the surprise my dear oath breaker."

Before they can ask where it is they'll end up a bright flashing light engulfs them as they disappear into said light, ending up in the new world for them to call home.
