So... I'm reviving this story.

For a variety of reasons. Mostly the fact that a whole lot a review came in right after I finished up announcing it was on hiatus and besides if I want to learn how to write without reviews I might as well continue with this one.

Also I really like this story, so yeah.

Also I should probably stop saying this, but while 'A Starry Night' hardly has any effect on this story, it will be referenced in this chapter and in the future.

Anyway with that out of the way, enjoy!

Robin's POV

Blackfire placed her bags -or actually bag- on the bed and began sorting through her stuff.

She'd asked me to help her move into the warehouse Slade had arranged for her to stay in. And who was I to say no?

"It's a nice warehouse you got here." She said.

"It's a warehouse. It's pretty much just one giant dark room. Slade hardly even cleaned the place up. He mostly just placed a bed, a nightstand, and a wardrobe in here and called it a day." I told her.

"Well I was trying to be nice…" She began "But yeah, It's horrible."

"I wonder what his thought process was when 'cleaned up' the warehouse" I said the cleaned up with quotations. "Aw yes, let's put the stuff in, but leave the dirt all over the place. I'm sure that's not important at all!"

"The mud and rust really finish it off, you know? Give it that dirty aesthetic we all long for." She added. We both burst into laughter.

"How'd you end up with such a zghrigh anyway?" She asked.

I shifted awkwardly "Reasons" I said, answering as vaguely as possible.

She seemed to understand, because she didn't press on it. Instead, she decided to move on to other questions.

"Why'd you switch costumes?" She inquired. "I thought your parents gave it to you"

I bit my lip at the new one. "Slade wanted me to wear his uniform. And I don't think he cares for the sentimental value of things."

"Yeah..." She responded. "That makes sense…"

"It's fine." I reassured her. "It wasn't the original anyway. I kind of overstated it when I said that they were the ones who gave it to me. There was a different suit that they gave me, which I wore when I first became Robin. I outgrew that one though, and the one I was wearing when we met was just modeled after it."

"Oh…" She said, awkwardly "What were they like?"

"Who?"

"Your parents." She said "What were they like before they died?"

I stopped as I thought about the question. I had to be careful not to give too much away, as Slade was watching, but I also didn't want to be too distant towards Blackfire. Actually I'm not sure how distant I even could be. "They were the best. They were in a circus…"

I paused, noticing her confusion "A circus is a travelling company who does performances.

"We lived in a trailer together. Dad always told the best jokes. Mom used to tell me stories of her own youth in the circus. They'd call me their little Robin.

"Then when I was 9 they…" My voice trailed off.

"...I'm sorry..." She whispered.

After a few minutes I spoke up. "What are yours like?"

"Excuse me?"

"What are your parents like?" I asked "How are they doing at your home?"

"They're dead." She told me bluntly.

"Oh!" I said, surprised "Well I-"

"Don't be sorry." She interrupted me "They never cared about me."

I was quiet, not sure what to say.

"They always favored Koriand'r and Ryand'r to me. It was only a matter of time before they gave them my place as the heir to the throne." She told me.

"Koriand'r and Ryand'r?" I asked.

"You know, Koriand'r is Starfire's native name and Ryand'r was our brother." Blackfire said "She didn't explain those things to you?…"

"No…" I told her "And she never mentioned anything about being an heir of any sort…"

"You didn't know?" She asked "We're the princesses of Tamaran"

"What?!" I exclaimed "No, I did not know that!

"So when Slade calls you 'Princess' it's not just a nickname?" I asked, trying to process all this new information.

"Yes." She answered "My little Sister really didn't tell you any of this?"

"No." I said "She didn't ever really talk about her past, besides the fact that she was from a planet called Tamaran and had been a slave to the Citel. We'd never even heard of you when you came to visit."

She rolled her eyes "Figures. She always did live in the moment."

"So…" I said, awkwardly trying to change the topic. After all, Starfire was still my friend. Sort of… well I still thought of her all a friend. "We should probably get back to moving you in."

"Yeah, we probably should." Blackfire agreed.

Both of us continued to sort through her belongings, though it was only a matter of time before we began our little talks again.

So... yeah I ended up adding the whole thing about his costume only being modeled after it for logic's sake.

Anyway, Please Read and Review!
