Sylvie had been up for an hour getting ready for her first shift at 75. "Good morning baby." Sylvie whispered into Matt's ear.
"Good morning. Are you ready for your first day at 75?"
"As ready as I can be. Stella's picking me up at 7." She said before giving Matt a good morning kiss. "I have a Question."
"Mmmm what about?"
"Are we telling people? Because if I am spending 24 hours with Stella I don't know if I will be able to keep this secret."
"I don't see a problem with Kidd knowing and maybe Severide but I think we should tell the rest of 51 together after shift since you and Kidd finish before me we can meet at 51 and tell everyone then ok?" At that moment they herd a car horn.
"Ok. That'll be Stella I've got to go. I love you." She kissed him as she grabbed her shift bag.
"Ok, I love I'll see you Tomorrow. Call me whenever you need ok?"
"Ok bye." She said as she slid out the door.
Stella was waiting in her Jeep for Sylvie. As Brett exited the house Kidd immediately knew something was up she was to perky for 7 on a Monday morning. Sylvie hated Mondays. As Sylvie entered the car Kidd took notice off the ring straight away. " Sylvie Evelyn Brett is that what I think it is!"
"Depends what do you think it is?" The smirk on her face gave her away.
"Matt finally proposed. YEEEEEEESSSSSSSS he took his sweet time. I though this would of happened like 3 months ago."
"Yes he did. Do you mind if we go to 51 after shift. Matt and I want to make the announcement to the whole house together and since we finish first I told him we would drop by?"
"Not a problem. I was wanting to see Kelly any way." Stella had the same goofy smile on her face that Sylvie did until they pulled up to the fire house.
Their was a collection of firemen standing on the apparatus floor huddled together. As Kidd and Brett approached the men one of them cat called them. "What have we here? 2 lovely ladies to please our eyes?"
"No actually. Stella Kidd and this is my partner PIC Sylvie Brett, we are your new paramedics on 96 and if your done drooling over us we would love to know where your chief is." Kidd responded with sarcasm evident if her tone.
"Chief Ryder is at the end of the bullpen to your right when you enter." One of the men replied.
"Thanks." Sylvie mumbled as her and Stella walked to wards the office. "This is going to be a long shift." Brett whispered to Kidd as she nodded in response.
