(A/N) Death to the elders!

The rest of ROOT was cleared out pretty quickly, so all that was left was finding Danzo. They'd assured the two women that Danzo was in a meeting with the other elders, but they didn't know or couldn't say where it was.

With how they were collapsing the base as they went along, making sure not a single piece of it was spared, they had to reach Danzo and the elders eventually, they were working on cornering them, they had nowhere to go.

It had taken the better part of the day to completely collapse almost the entire place, and they were almost out of places to check. The entire place was lined with seals to prevent sensing, so Mito was getting frustrated with her sensing efforts being stymied.

Finally, they opened a door, and someone was inside. Well, they had to unseal the door, then open it then unseal that door, open that one, dodge a few traps and disable another seal, and then they found the elders. Finally.

"Danzo, Homura, Koharu, you are under an order of execution." Kushina shouted, pointing at the three. "And we're here to put it into effect."

Mito withheld a sigh, choosing instead to stare the three down. They needed to be united. Couldn't show weakness in front of the elders. Even if Kushina was being ridiculous.

Danzo glared harshly at her. Mito merely smiled demurely. "I said if you didn't eliminate ROOT within the given timeframe I would go in and destroy it myself. I only kept my promise."

Kushina grinned, pulling out the papers Mito had spent all of yesterday obtaining and brandishing them at Danzo. "See! Signed by all the clan heads and both of us for your execution."

"Give me that," Danzo snapped, snatching it from her hands. Mito was suddenly grateful she made copies of the papers. Just in case. He didn't tear it up, merely read through it angrily while his face turned some very interesting shades of red and purple.

"Either submit to your execution like a shinobi of the village, or die a traitor," Mito replied, smirking. "Either way, no one will be praying on your grave. We've made dang sure of that."

"You won't get away with this," Danzo growled like some sort of storybook villain.

"You don't understand," Mito remarked cooly. "We already have. And there's nothing you can do about it. Now submit, or we will force you to."

Koharu and Homura realized they had been beaten and bowed their heads for execution. Danzo remained upright, refusing.

"Fine then," Mito sighed, summoning her katana. "If it's going to be like that."

A swing and it was over. Danzo's head was on the floor, his body crumpling like a puppet with its strings cut. Two more and Koharu and Homura did the same.

"This will be their tomb," Mito decided. "Bring it down."

Kushina grinned, making the signs and bringing the ceiling down as the two backed out of the room. Mito indulged a bit and stuck out her tongue at Danzo's decapitated head right before it was crushed under the rocks.

"We showed 'em what happens when you mess with us!" Kushina cheered, going in for a highfive.

Mito smiled and indulged her, replying in kind. "Next time, perhaps people will remember to think twice before trying to betray the village."

"Our village," Kushina replied proudly.

"Our village," Mito agreed quietly, smiling softly. The village Hashirama had started, and the village who's image Kushina and she would finish. It would be their village, a village where children weren't in the fight, where children could grow up without the horrors of war.
