Guest 2.0: Barry trusts Oliver only slightly less than he trusts Caitlin IMO.

Star Labs

Mid afternoon

"Die?" Oliver repeated, wondering if Novu had finally snapped.

"I think there's been enough death today," Clark said firmly as he stepped forward, clearly intending on fighting Novu if necessary.

"You misunderstand. I have no intention of killing Oliver," Novu assured them all as he saw their weary looks. "Oliver must die so he can live. So we can all live."

"Okay, is anyone else getting a migraine from listening to him talk?" Percy asked irritated.

"For once, we're all as confused as Percy. Could you just speak English instead of riddles?" Thalia demanded.

"I have seen countless versions of how this Crisis plays out. In ever scenario where we are victorious over Kronos, there is one thing in common: Oliver must become something else. He must accept the offer Percy Jackson rejected three years earlier," Novu explained and Percy, Annabeth, Thalia, Nico and even Patty's eyes widened in realization.

"No way," Percy said, looking over at Oliver in shock as he and everyone looked even more bewildered.

"Um, someone want to fill in the peanut gallery?" Ralph asked.

"After we beat Kronos last time…Zeus offered to make Percy a god," Annabeth explained and everyone's eyes widened in shock.

"Me? A god? That's been your plan all along? You said you'd seen me die," Oliver said in shock.

"And what I told you was true. The mortal must die so the god may live, so we may all live," Novu explained. "Only a god can defeat Kronos now but Kronos will avoid detection by them until it is too late. So we must create a new one. Only you can defeat Kronos Oliver. Only you can save everyone."

"Oliver," Percy said before Oliver cold say anything. "Before you make a decision, there's something you should know. There are laws; Zeus is pretty strict about them. If you do this…you can't ever go back home, to your family."

Oliver clenched his hands into his firsts, his mind on Felicity, Mia and William as they all stared at him. Then, slowly, his hands relaxed.

"There was never a chance of that to begin with," Oliver said as he looked up at Novu. "What do we do now?"

"For this to work, it must take place on sacred ground. Gather the items we have procured and we must leave," Novu ordered.

"Oliver," Kara pulled him aside before any moves could be made. "Are you sure about this?"

"No," Oliver said honestly. "But Barry gave his life to make sure we could stop Kronos. If this is the only way to do it…we have to make it worth it."

Kara didn't like it any more than he did, but she couldn't fault his logic. Enough people had died because of Kronos; it was time to put a stop to it.

The decision made, they began to pick up the items. Oliver grabbed Al-Fatih's sword as Kara carefully picked up the spherical container that held the Dwarf Star Particles. Following their lead, Percy grabbed the furred leather jacket they had acquired after Barry killed the Nemean Lion as Annabeth picked up the sphere that housed the energy from Lian Yu. Lastly, Diana picked up Laden's scale, looking at it curiously.

"What creature is this from?" Diana asked.

"Laden," Annabeth said and Diana looked over at her sharply.

"Laden, the dragon that guard Hera's tree of golden apples?" she asked and Annabeth nodded. "I would have thoughts with the gods dead; it would have died out long ago."

"The gods did not die Diana. That was a lie told to you by your mother, on your father's orders," Novu said and Diana looked shocked. "Your earth proved too tempting to Ares, so your father ruled that they would leave and never return."

"But…Ares…" Diana said in shock.

"An impostor, a demigod who grew most ambitious. He now suffers in Tartarus for impersonating a god," Novu explained.

"Okay, let's get this show on the road," Cisco said, eager to leave.

"You four aren't coming," Oliver said as he gestured to Team Flash, who all looked at him in shock and outrage. "Kronos won't take Barry stopping his plans lightly. At some point, he's gonna attack Earth-1."

"And Kronos is a sore loser, so he'll probably start with Central City," Percy added.

"And I think one of you should tell Joe and Iris about Barry," Oliver said gently. "They deserve to know."

Cisco, Caitlin, Ralph and Harry exchanged uneasy glances, seeming to have a silent conversation. It was clear they didn't like it, but they knew Oliver was right.

"Just promise us one thing: you take that son of a bitch down Oliver," Cisco said emotionally.

"You have my word," Oliver agreed.

"Now that's we're all in agreement, it is time to go," Novu said.

There was a bright flash of light. When it faded, Novu and the other heroes were all gone.

"He's gotta stop doing that," Ralph complained.

Camp Half-Blood

Moments later

In a flash, Novu and the heroes appeared in the woods away from the cap grounds.

"Where are we?" Jefferson asked as he looked around bewildered.

"We're at Camp Half-Blood," Percy said as he recognized its second home. "It's the place where Earth-1 demigods are protected and trained on how to defend themselves."

"Sacred ground; makes sense," Olive mused. "What now?"

"Now, the Ghost King must play his part," Novu said as they all turned to Nico. "He must summon the spirit of Jim Corrigan."

"The Spectre?" Nico asked in surprise and Novu nodded.

"Short of a god, he is the only one capable of performing the ritual. And he will only answer to the Ghost King. Call to him," Novu commanded and Nico sighed.

"Okay, okay," Nico grumbled before raising his voice. "Jim Corrigan! I summon you!"

For a moment, it was silent, none of them hearing a sound. Then-

"You wished to speak?"

Startled, the group of heroes whirled around. A bearded man with greying dark hair wearing jeans, a light blue button shirt and a leather jacket stepped out of the woods, his skin unnaturally pale.

"Jim Corrigan I presume?" Clark asked and he nodded.

"Why have you summoned me?" Corrigan asked.

"You are needed to perform a ritual only a god or the Spectre can perform," Novu explained and Corrigan stiffened.

"You wish to make one of them a god," Corrigan said and Novu nodded. "Do you have any idea of the risks? The costs it will bear? Immortality is a fleeting novelty I would not wish upon anyone."

"We know," Oliver snapped, clenching his free hand into a fist as he remembered his family and friends. "And we wouldn't even consider it if there was any other choice. But with Kronos out there, there isn't a choice. Are you gonna help us or not?"

"Oliver," Diana spoke up and Oliver looked over at her. "He is right. You'll live forever, see everyone you love die while you remain young and powerful. Are you sure about this?"

"Like I said, there isn't any other option," Oliver said before looking back at Corrigan. "Are you gonna do it or not?"

"I will need items to perform the ritual," Corrigan said after a moment, seeing how serious Oliver was. "Flesh of an ancient beast, a mystical object of protection, an achievement of the modern age and enough energy to power a city."

"All of which we have gathered for you," Novu said as Percy, Annabeth, Kara and Diana held up the items.

"Then what was this for?" Oliver asked as he looked down at Al-Fatih's sword.

"It shall be the weapon you face Kronos with," Novu explained.

Corrigan's eyes flashed green and, to the shock of everyone, the scale, the leather coat, the Particles and the sphere floated into the air.

"All of you stand back," Corrigan said, his voice taking on a deeper, ancient sound.

The voice seemed to command respect, as everyone stepped a clear foot back from Oliver, sensing that things were about to get intense.

"By the powers of gods and men, let this man become something else. Let him shed this mortal coil and become something more. The human must die so the immortal can rise," Corrigan's voice said, echoing throughout the entire camp.

The four items glowed with green energy, a wire like spark shooting out of each and hitting the other, making a circle like chain. They levitated above Oliver before suddenly; green energy shot out of them and struck him. Oliver screamed in agony, feeling pain unlike anything he had ever felt before as the world around him faded away.

Oliver found himself in a clear that reminded him a lot of Lian Yu. He looked around, confused before a voice spoke up behind him.

"Hello Oliver."

Stunned, Oliver whirled around, coming face to face with his father.

"Dad?" Oliver breathed and Robert smiled.

"Hi Ollie."

"I-I don't understand. You're dead," Oliver said and Robert nodded.

"This is a sort of in between. As your human body is dying, your mind was brought here as it is being prepared for your new, immortal body," Robert explained. "I'm so proud of you son. You've finally become the hero, the man you were always meant to be. A better man than I ever was."

"Have you not been paying attention Dad? I've made so many mistakes, I've hurt people," Oliver said in guilt and self-loathing.

"Every hero does. Everyone has trials they must go through to overcome. But when your loved ones, your city, the world needed you, you were there, ready to answer the call," Robert told him.

Suddenly, the clearing was plunged into darkness, blinding Oliver as Robert vanished from view. Before Oliver could call out for his father, the darkness was pierced as several projections played out before him.

He saw himself using the move Slade taught him for the first time to take down a soldier.

Then he looked as he saw himself shooting Fyers to save Shado.

That was followed by him grabbing Sara's hand and leading her away from Ivo's men along with Slade and Shado and then by his battle with Slade aboard the Amazo.

Then he watched as he saw himself convincing Tommy he had been set up in Hong Kong, then by him fighting alongside Maseo to stop China White.

Then he saw himself stabbing Kovar in front of Anatoly, followed by him finally ending Kovar on Lian Yu.

Then Oliver saw as he lit up the logs on flames and then took off his hood in front of the fishermen.

Then he saw himself fighting the men who had kidnapped him and Tommy, followed by throwing a fletchette at the device behind Adam Hunt to take away his embezzled money.

Then Oliver saw himself saving Roy from Joseph Falk. This was followed by him fighting and stabbing Blank, followed by his fight in the hallway in Bludhaven to save Walter, and then he saw himself in a chokehold by Malcolm before he picked up an arrow and stabbed it through himself, taking Malcolm down too in the process.

That was followed by fighting the Hoods are they took Thea and then him killing the Count.

He then saw as he wore his mask for the first time.

As the projections continued, he saw himself leading the other heroes of the city against Slade's Mirakuru army in the tunnel, followed by his fight with Slade as he fired arrows that shot into ropes to restrain him.

Then he saw his talk with Barry after the speedster had woken up in which he encouraged him to be a hero.

Then he saw his desperate fight on the cliff with Ra's al Ghul, followed by him talking Thea down from killing Slade.

That was followed by him shooting Thawne from behind with a nanite arrow, taking down the mad speedster.

Then he saw his final fight against Ra's as he stabbed the leader of the League through his chest.

After that, he saw himself giving the entire city a video message as the Green Arrow.

Then he was standing side to side with Barry as they took down Vandal Savage with his own staff.

That was followed by him stabbing Darhk with an arrow.

Then he saw himself knock out Tobias Church, followed by him restraining Vigilante.

And then Oliver looked at himself defeating Slade in the Dream World, followed by helping in the fight against Dominators.

And then he saw himself as Mayor giving a speech to Star City.

That was followed by him refusing to give in to Adrian, saving William without killing him, and then taking down his Earth-X doppelganger as well, followed by beating up Diaz after he had shot Quentin, then his speech when his identity had been revealed.

That was followed by his battle against Diaz in the prison, which was then followed by him destroying the Book of Destiny with the Monitor's special arrow. Then he saw himself leading Percy, Slade, Roy and Thea against the ghosts on Lian Yu and the projections ended with him talking down Lena on Earth-38.

"These were my trials," Oliver said as he stared at the projections for a moment.

"Your final trial is upon you Oliver," Robert told him as he stepped up behind him.

Oliver then gasped as he his eyes glowed, the power of a god flowing through him.

I went back and forth on my ultimate plan for Oliver in this story, but ultimately, I decided the best course of action was to make him a god. The last line of the prophecy 'A forbidden hero accepts his fate' is about Oliver accepting his destiny to become a god. It's pretty much the Percy Jackson version of the Spectre without him stupidly dying afterwards.

The majority of the scene where Oliver witnesses his trails was taken from Aragorn II Elessar's story 'You are a hero' with his permission. Thanks buddy.
