Sorry for the long wait. I'll explain why at the end of the chapter, but for now, after nearly two months, here's the latest chapter.

Disclaimer: I do not own Steven Universe. That glory belongs to Rebecca Sugar and the Crewniverse. The only thing(s) that I own are my multiple OCs and the plot of this story.

Enjoy!

Chapter 9:

Eyes of Rage

First, there was a pair of twins that really gave Steven and his friends a hard time. If it wasn't for them passing out, then they would all be in trouble. Then however, the twin's boss came forward and actually finished what they couldn't, defeat Steven and his friends.

However, before he thought they were finished, someone showed up out of nowhere and not only saved them, but defeated the boss. However, when Steven realized this "savior" was going to "defeat" Daviron permanently, Steven interfered and stopped the unknown person from killing Daviron, allowing the lizard like being to escape with the unconscious twins. As a result, Steven is now on his back after being kicked by the mystery person, who's eye from the broken visor of his helmet, is as red as the figure from his recent nightmare.

"Bastard." the black wearing being said under his breath just before he kicked Steven in the face. Steven could only hold his cheek as he looked back up at the angry person. Despite the pain from both the kick and paralysis from Daviron, Steven tried to stand up, but his angry savior/abuser still had words to say.

"Do you know what you did? Who you just saved? Do you have any idea what's going to happen?!"

Steven was now kneeling on the ground and decided to finally bring out his shield. If this was going to escalate any further, he might as well protect himself from any fires, kicks or punches.

When it came to the questions that was just asked earlier, Steven had one of his own.

"Were you about to kill him earlier? Daviron? Were you just about to kill him?" Steven asked with slight anger in his voice. Depending on their answer, Steven would decide to either stay where he was or attack.

"So what if I was?" Drake answered coldly. Steven couldn't believe what he just heard. This person really attempted to kill Daviron. Sure the Komodo was ruthless in both this invasion of the zoo AND his friends and family, but Steven couldn't process at the inhumanity this person was giving. Heck, Steven wasn't even sure what this person was. Still, Steven had to be bravr and decided to give his response to their answer.

"Then yeah! I know what I did. I protected him from being killed."

"What's wrong with killing that old bastard? Besides, before I showed up, he had hurt you and your friends. If I didn't show up in time, who knows what he would have done. So why would you want to spare him?!" Drake asked in frustration and confusion.

"Because…." Steven paused before he continued.

"If I just let you kill him, I would never forgive myself. No matter what someone did, death is never the answer!" Steven finished boldly as he wasn't afraid to voice his belief.

Drake just stood there silently as he stared at Steven with his red eyes, one of them, being visible for Steven to see behind the cracked visor of his helmet. After a few seconds, he raised his hand in front of him and produced a flame to take up his palm. Steven kept his shield closer in front of him after seeing the flame. He had no idea what this guy was going to do, but it must not be good if he brought out a fire.

"STEVEN!"

Both Steven and Drake heard the voice and Steven recognized it as his girlfriend. They both saw Connie and the other gems rushing to Steven. Once they caught up to him, Garnet, Pearl & Amethyst stood by his side with their weapons in hand, Connie and Spinel right next to him, ready to fight alongside him and Blue back at her giant size, towering over everyone while standing behind them.

Even though this mystery person saved all of them, they noticed Steven held out his shield and he wouldn't do that unless it was to protect himself or others. If Steven was nervous against him, then maybe this guy isn't a savior. Especially when they notice him holding fire in his hand and a red eye through the opening of his helmet. Even though they were still sore from battling the Daviron, if this mystery person was going to start a new fight, then they had to ready themselves.

For Drake, even though he was upset at the human, apparently named "Steven", at least according to the name the female human shouted earlier, he took in what he was up against if he decided to engage in combat. His eyes shifted as he took in what he saw and somehow, he could tell who would be easy to defeat and who wouldn't be.

Those three won't be much trouble (Pearl, Amethyst & Spinel). That one is stronger (Garnet), but won't be difficult. Her on the other hand (Blue Diamond), is going to be a problem. Not just that, but I used up more aura than I had hoped for against Daviron. As much as I hate to admit it, I don't stand too good of a chance against all of them.

SIR!

Drake's eyes widened as he heard his ally's voice through the headset hidden in his helmet. She must have some progress in the assignment he gave her.

I hacked into the mainframe and got what I could. You should head back to the ship.

The headset was one way, so Drake couldn't answer back. As he kept his eyes on Steven and the gems, he thought about what his best option was and knew what he must do.

He closed his palm, resulting in the flame being put out. Steven, Connie and the gems assumed that meant he didn't want to fight. He did however have a few words to share.

"You should all know that what happened here isn't going to end with just this." He said as he gestured to the broken trees, burned grass and the whole ruined containment area of the human zoo.

"There's more of those people that want to hurt gems and I don't know what they're going to do next, but I'm certain it will get worse as time goes on."

Even though they didn't show it, everyone was nervous about what he was saying, especially after he mentioned things will get worse. If those three (Daviron, Charlo & Charla) put the zoo in the condition it is now, who knows what damage more of them could do.

"I know what these people are capable and judging by the damage you all received, you clearly don't." He said, earning some glares from Connie and the gems. Before anyone could rebuttal, he once again continued on.

"Let me deal with them. However, if you encounter beings like this again, the only thing I can tell you right now….

Is to prepare yourself."

Once he told them that, Garnet decided to speak up for more information.

"Prepare ourselves for what? Against who?"

After a brief silence, he answered both her questions with the same response.

"The Nova Clan"

Soon enough, he turned his back and walked towards the entrance/exit to the containment area. Everyone watched him leave, taking in the name of the group he just mentioned, but Steven didn't want him to leave just yet.

"Wait!" Drake then stopped walking, but refused to look back at the human.

"When you say "deal with them", do you mean kill them?" Steven asked with concern. Everyone was surprised to hear what Steven just asked. Was that person really going to kill Daviron, the twins and any other person involved with this "Nova Clan"? The silence was all Steven needed to confirm his suspicions.

"Wait! Hold on! I don't think you should-" Ste

He then pointed his right index finger at them and like a gun, fired a small fire blast at them. The blast landed in front of Steven, but it quickly spread around them to form a circle. Drake then raised his hand to raise the fire, trapping them in a pillar of fire tall enough that Blue's height couldn't reach. Drake took this opportunity to escape and leave the containment area and Steven and his friends still trapped in the flame pillar.

"Damn! Why didn't we bring Lapis with us?" Amethyst said, knowing that Lapis would have been very handy in a situation like this.

Steven and Connie were coughing as they couldn't breathe too well in the fire. Even though the gems were ok in the fire, they knew they had to put this fire prison out for Steven & Connie's sake. The crystal gems tried using their weapons to either fight the fire, but noticed that the fire wouldn't be put out so easily as their weapons either melted, burned to ashes or were just too hot to handle. The towering Diamond decided to have a go at the massive flame.

"Everyone, stay close to me" Blue told them as she began summoning out spheres of energy and quickly fired them at the massive flame. Unlike the gems previous attempts, Blue's attacks were actually making progress in lowering the flames. However, before Blue would launch another beam at the flames , the fire put itself out instantly.

"It's out?" Amethyst said with confusion.

"Did Blue's attack put it out?" Pearl said with curiosity. The diamond then answered her question

"My first attempt soothed the flames a little bit, but it wasn't enough to put it out completely. Something else must have put them out."

As Steven & Connie were breathing again, Steven opened his eyes and looked around to see where that dark clothed figure went, but couldn't see any trace of them.

"What the hell was that dude's problem?! First he stops the lizard guy, then he kicks Steven, then warns us, and now he tries to roast us?!" Amethyst said out loud in anger and frustration after almost being cooked. Obviously, the purple gem wasn't the only one feeling this way. Everyone else was feeling just as frustrated.

However, one of them was simply just confused, Steven. Was that person really just trying to save them, or did he just jump in to attempt to kill Daviron without any regard to Steven or his friends? Besides, the figure from Steven's latest dream tried to slash Steven with the same sword he tried to finish off the Komodo with. Also, he did just leave Steven, Connie and the gems in a fire prison. But then again, was it just luck that put out the flames? Blue's power? Or was it the very person that started it? Steven thought it was the latter.

Did he just use that fire to get away from us? Did he put it out when he was far enough away?

Then again, the red eye that was seen through the cracked opening of his helmet was going to haunt Steven for a bit. It was just one eye, but Steven could see a lot of anger in it. Even for a glance, he could tell there was more behind the look.

That look he gave me. It wasn't just rage. It's like he was saying, "leave me alone". Kinda like how I felt when I was beginning to lose control. Who was he?

"Steven, are you ok?" Connie asked her boyfriend, snapping him out of his thoughts.

"Huh? Oh, I think I just need to catch my breath. Other than that, I think I'm ok. What about you?"

"Same." Connie said as she sat down next to him. The gems checked up on them. Even though they were winded, everyone in their group are still alive and in one piece. However, that didn't change the fact that Daviron and his soldiers got away. They wondered if the enemy really took everyone in the zoo.

"Steven, you, Connie and Pearl wait by the hangar and recover. The rest of us are going to look around the zoo to see if anyone is still here." Garnet said to the three. Even though Steven was worried sick and wanted to see if any of the zoomans, famethyst or rose quartzes were still here, he agreed that he needed to rest and nodded to Garnets plan.

Garnet & Amethyst searched one side of the ship for survivors while Blue & Spinel searched the other side. Meanwhile, Steven, Connie & Pearl made their way through the hallways back to the hangar. To many things were on Steven's mind besides the safety of the zoo's inhabitants. The enemy and the unknown figure that haunts not only his dream, but life too.

As Drake's ship was now flying through space, he sat in the captain's chair with his helmet covered head resting against his hand as he was disappointed in the results of what happened at the zoo.

As Sol was piloting the ship, she looked back at her boss with slight worry. He already told her everything that happened. His fight with Daviron, him and his subordinates escaping and the group of gems, more specifically, the human that could apparently summon a gem weapon.

"Sol, show me what you found." Drake told her. Sol put the ship on auto pilot and made her way to Drake with a small circular device in her gloved paw.

"Like I said earlier, Daviron took most of the ships records and data, so I couldn't find out what he stole. I was fortunate enough to find some surveillance footage of him breaking into the lab and stealing the data." Sol explained what she found.

"Put the footage on screen" Drake ordered. She simply nodded and made her way back to her pilots chair.

As the footage was showing on the screen, they watched as Daviron was hacking and accessing his way through the gem tech computers. They did notice that whatever he was looking for was appearing on the gem computer screen. However, it was hard to tell what was on screen due to the pixilation that was showing.

"Stop the video and enhance the image." Drake ordered. She nodded and did just that. Once they could see clearly what was on the screen, they saw Daviron was staring over a screen that showed some sort of list with numbers and certain characters next to the numbers. Sol had an idea on what they were seeing.

"The characters must be gem language. Which means those numbers… they must be-" She thought out loud before Drake completed her thought.

"Coordinates. Which means that next to those numbers must be the names of the locations those coordinates pinpoint."

After Drake said that, Sol soon put the pieces together and realized the same thing Drake was thinking of.

"Colonies. It's a list of gem colonies and their exact locations. That means they now know where all the active colonies are and can target them at any time." Sol said out loud. There was something that was bothering Drake however.

If they needed the exact locations of the colonies, how were they able to find that station (The Zoo)?

After seeing the footage and realizing what Daviron and his two soldiers took, Drake thought to himself as he looked down on the floor.

They're finally making their move. But we're off to a rough start. Not only are more gem colonies going to be invaded, but now that Daviron knows that I'm alive, he's going to tell everyone and they'll now be aware of me. So much for trying to stay hidden. The list of colonies he took is vast. So there's no telling which colonies they'll attack next.

After contemplating his current situation, he took off his helmet. His head, now exposed, shows what he is…..

A human.

He has straight medium-length dirty blonde hair with fair caucasian skin. His red eyes then became blue, his original color.

As he stared out into the dark depths of space, he looked at his feline pilot and then at his own hands.

There's no way to figure out where exactly they'll strike next. And now that I can't interrogate those two that came with Daviron, I won't ever know.

Even though he was frustrated over the current situation, he thought back at the human that saved Daviron and the gems that were with him, including Blue Diamond.

That guy (Steven), there must be something about him if he's close to a diamond.

As he thought about Steven, he thought back to the words the gem told him. Words that made him grit his teeth.

No matter what someone did, death is never the answer!

"Tsk. What the hell would he know. If he knew what Daviron and the others have done, I doubt he'd keep saying that." Drake said to himself in frustration. After he got over his anger, he gave his partner a new order.

"Sol, set a course."

"Where to?" She asked in curiosity.

"The only place that is populated with humans. A planet I haven't seen in years…."

"Earth"

In a dark stone room, lit only with torches, the elite Daviron was waking up. As he sat up from the stone slab he was resting on, he felt sore throughout his body. Once he felt that numbness, he remembered what had happened earlier. He was facing a group of gems that interrupted his raid on the zoo. One of those gems was a diamond. Actually, he was facing TWO diamonds. He remembered that young human male displayed powers only a diamond could have. Even so, he recalled pushing them in a corner and was about to take them away, before a new force came between him and them. A force he hasn't seen in quite a while. Once he had feeling in his arms, he ran his hand over the side of his legs, and noticed that his pockets were empty. The drive that contained the data he stole was gone.

"Don't worry about the drive. I have it right here." A new male voice said as they snapped the komodo out of his worries.

Daviron turned to the other side of the room and not only noticed his fellow white cloaked comrade, but saw that the data drive was in their pasty white skinned hand. They stood at about the same height as the Pearl Daviron faced earlier. Even though their face was covered by a hood, the scaly elite recognized who it was due to their voice.

"I'm glad to see you're recovering rather quickly." The figure said in a condescending way.

"Don't underestimate my body's ability to replace the blood I lost. It might not be as fast as regenerating my scales and limbs, but it's faster than any other organic being." Daviron explained how he recovered quickly.

"I know full well how your body works Daviron. I'm your senior and it's my job to know how my fellow giants act and function. So I don't need you to give me a lecture on it." The new figure told the lizard condescendingly.

"It's frustrating that my "senior" doesn't bother to show up and meet up with the rest of us. You were the first of us to have been blessed by the masters, and yet you don't bother to show up to us or assist us in any way." Daviron explained his disdain towards his fellow giant.

"Oh my scaly friend, we've been over this. Yes, I'm a giant, but you and the others know full well that I serve directly under the masters as their right hand. So it's because of that that I have no time to meet up with you all." The new figure explained to his fellow giant condescendingly. Daviron only grit his sharp teeth in annoyance having to hear this person brag about their position within their clan.

"If you have no time to meet with me and the other giants, then what brings you here now? Well, Canva?" Daviron asked his senior, Canva. To answer, Canva pulled down his hood to reveal show his head and face. His skin was as white as the former gem matriarch, White Diamond herself. However, unlike the gem, his eyes didn't have any sort of cornea or pupils, just plain white. Not just that, but he had no hair on the top of his head. The most distinguishable part of his face though had to be the scar that ran from the left side of his forehead, down to the left side of his cheek. Soon enough, he answered Daviron's question.

"The reason I'm here is to inform you that SHE wants to talk to you and those subordinates you brought along on your mission." Canva answered with a smirk. Daviron only looked down in shame. He knew that he'd have to report to the masters what happened during the mission, he just wished that he wouldn't have to tell her the whole truth. Unfortunately, he had to.

"I'll see you and those two in the throne room. Don't keep her waiting." Canva said as he left Daviron alone with his subordinates.

The anthro komodo dragon looked down at his two squad members as they were beginning to wake up. However, he knew that after the meeting he was about to drag them two, those two were going to wish they stayed asleep.

"Wha- what happened?" Charla said weakly as she woke up from her short slumber. At first, she was confused as to where she was, but quickly changed her focus to her brother who was just about to wake up too.

"Charlo, are you ok?" She said in concern for her twin.

"Y-yeah. I think I'm ok." The male twin responded to settle his sister's worry. However, they both felt incredibly sore throughout their bodies.

"Damn, I can barely lift my arms." Charlo added on as he tried moving his aching limbs. Soon enough, both he and her remembered what led to their weakened state, their battle with the gems, humans & diamond that showed up after their raid of amethysts and humans. However, before any of them could berate themselves, their scaly boss had a new order for them.

"You two. Follow me." He said plainly as they both got off of their stone slab beds and began to follow Daviron out of the medical room. Along the way, they both realized that they were going deeper in the base than what they were used to. Soon enough, they found themselves walking into a dark room with no light at all.

"Sir, where are we exactly?" Charla asked her superior in confusion. As soon as she did, torches in the room quickly lit up and there was now better to see where they were. A large stone room surrounded them and in their view, they saw a being with the same white cloak as Daviron that they could recognize as the first giant in front of a massive stone staircase.

"Isn't that Canva?" Charlo said, asking as if his eyes were deceiving him. As soon as he said that, Canva made his way over to the male twin. Once the higher up stood in front of Charlo, he flicked the twin in the forehead with enough force to knock Charlo down on his back and slowly hold his forehead in pain.

"That's "Sir" Canva to you young proto." The elite said with a smile on his face. Charlo only grit in pain and irritation as he looked up at the strong being. Of all the giants in the clan, Canva was one that Charlo respected the least, despite him having the honor to work next to the masters as their aide, Charlo just saw him as someone who was so smug and full of himself. Charla's mind was full of questions. She still never got an answer as to where they were in the base, but now with Canva, a senior giant, was here with them too. Why's that? Before she could put the pieces together, Daviron interrupted her thought.

"Bow you two!" Daviron ordered sternly, but quietly as he had kneeled in front of the staircase. The twins knew that Daviron had a disdain for Canva, so there was no way he was kneeling to him. They both directed their eyes at the top of the huge staircase where a throne rested and someone was sitting in it.

That someone was also cloaked. However, unlike Daviron & Canva, this cloak wasn't white.

It was Grey.

Both twins widened their eyes in fear and quickly sat on their knees and bowed their heads. There were only four people in the clan that wore that color of robe. The ones that run it.

"You two are in the presence of one of the masters. The commander of the Nova Clan's fighting forces." Daviron explained to his subordinated who they were bowing to.

"No way" Charlo said as he was slightly shaking in nervousness.

"You mean that's….." Charla trembled, realizing who she and her brother were in front of.

The figure at the top of the stairs rose from their throne with their cloak still covering their head. Everyone however could make out what was underneath the hood, a full face woman metallic venetian mask. Height wise, she was just a few inches shorter than the Pearl they saw at the zoo. Daviron soon spoke the name of that very person that stood from her throne.

"Vega"

Daviron said completing the twins astonishment. The said master looked down at her followers through the metal mask on her face.

The twins were quick to praise the master as she made her way down the steps.

"Lady Vega, it's an honor to be in your presence." Charla said to their leader. Charlo decided to follow suit with his own words of praise.

"Yes, we're truly blessed to kneel before y-"

"Who gave you two permission to speak?" Vega questioned her soldiers rather cold and rudely. In response, the two quickly silenced themselves and faced the ground.

"Sorry, we just-" Charlo attempted to apologize, but an intense presence covered the whole room. The twins were shaking in fear, while the dry skinned elite's eyes were slightly twitching at the pressure and Canva was simply smiling in ecstasy at feeling the power. At this point, the twins realized that the masked master was responsible it.

"I still didn't allow you to speak. Don't assume you can voice your worthless words of praise and I'll look past the results of your mission." Vega said plainly. Soon enough, she directed her attention at Daviron.

"Daviron, explain to me what happened." Vega ordered.

The komodo soon recapped everything that had happened during their raid at the zoo. From poofing the gems & capturing the humans to encountering a squad of gems, including a diamond, that wouldn't retreat into their gems so easily. During his report, he reluctantly explained the mistakes that were made by both his subordinates and himself. Vega raised her arm to pause the anthro komodo dragon's report and directed her attention to the siblings.

"You two decided not to retreat over to Daviron, but rather engage in combat against a diamond? You two are only Protos. You know full well that your abilities are not up to par with a gem of that caliber." Vega criticized them for their reckless decision. The male twin decided to defend himself and his sister.

"Lady Vega, we only acted to buy time for Sir Daviron. We believed that if we could stand against Blue Diamond, then it would allow him to-"

STAB

Out of nowhere he suddenly felt a sharp pain somewhere on his chest and he groaned in pain and grabbed the spot where it hurt. It felt like he was stabbed. He pulled one of his hands away and saw warm blue liquid in his hand.

His own blood.

(The twins race/species have blue blood).

Charla wanted to shout her brother's name out of worry as she saw him cringe in pain and cough up more blood, but was scared about what Vega would do if she spoke without her permission. Would she suffer the same way her brother is right now? All she could do was hold him as he fell back in her arms, grabbing his wound.

"Not only did you battle a diamond, but earlier, while you were rounding up the humans, YOU injured one of them to the point they bled and passed out." Vega said, referring to when Charlo shot one of the zoomans with his aura sphere. She wasn't done listing their offenses just yet though.

"Plus, you two also decided to tap into the reserve power within yourselves that was supposed to be used later in the future." The twins knew she was referring to the power they were using just before they blacked out.

"As I'm sure you two are aware, our numbers are low compared to that of the Gem race. We cannot risk our Protos getting themselves killed right away. However, if you two are going to ignore your leaders and act out on your own recklessly, then perhaps there's no use for you two in the clan." Vega thought out loud as she turned her back to her young followers and made her way back up to her throne.

"Wait!" Charla shouted out loud in desperation. Daviron was surprised at Charla's sudden outburst as he turned to her while Vega stopped ascending the steps. Canva only smiled in amusement.

"Lady Vega, please forgive us for our disobedience and reckless behavior! We won't ever act out on our own again! We swear our loyalty to you, the other masters and the whole Nova Clan! Just please! Please forgive my brother!" Charla begged to their master with tears in her eyes as she worried for her brother's life, literally in her arms.

The second Charla blinked, Vega was suddenly right in front of her and her wounded brother instead of on the stairs. This indicated that this master had amazing speed. Soon after, Vega put her right hand out and it glowed white. The master soon put her glowing hand over Charlo's stab wound. Charlo grit his teeth in even more pain as it felt like his wound was being lit on fire. That pain was short lived though as the pain soothed. Both he and his twin looked at his wound and saw that even though it looked like a scab, the bleeding did stop.

"I just cauterized your wound. You should consider yourself lucky that I'm giving you a second chance. BOTH of you" Vega said to both the twins before she turned her back to them and ascended up the stairs again. As she was, she gave a verdict.

"You two are hereby removed from Daviron's division and will be sent back to basic training. You will stay there until you receive further notice from me or the other masters. Is that understood?"

"Yes Lady Vega." Both twins said at the same time with slight shame as they bowed their heads to her.

"Do you understand Daviron?" Vega asked one of her trusty generals.

"Yes Lady Vega". He said

"You two are dismissed. Canva, take them to the Carina base" Vega said to the loyal sevant.

"With pleasure Lady Vega." The pale skinned aide said as he bowed to her. As soon as he did, he and the twins gave a familiar solute and words.

"For the Glory of the Stars" The three said at the same time. As soon as they did, Canva led the twins out of the throne room. One they were gone, Vega gave Daviron the "go ahead" with his report.

"You may continue with your report Daviron." The leader told him. The elite then continued to explain what he witnessed during his fight with the gems, including the human-gem, or more specific, human-diamond hybrid. He explained the hybrid's strength, ability to produce strong defenses, and even fuse.

"A human with diamond powers? Interesting." Vega said out loud. However, she soon changed the subject.

"I can tell though that the hybrid wasn't what wounded you Daviron. Am I correct?" Vega asked him, already knowing the answer.

"Yes. Once I had incapacitated him, his human companion and the gems, an individual showed up soon after that wielded incredible power. Sadly, he was much stronger than I realized." Daviron said with his eyes closed in shame.

"He?" Vega asked intrigued.

"Yes. This individual is someone we haven't seen in years."

"Who?" She asked with slight curiosity.

"Drake." the Komodo answered.

"Drake huh? To think that he was still alive. But I guess a part of me always knew he was. Not just that, but to see that he's the one that put you in the condition you are now is slightly alarming." Vega said, loud enough for him to hear.

"However, he's not our focus right now. Our main focus is to continue our invasions and collect more gems for The Void. And since you retrieved the list of colonies from the human zoo, we now have the locations of many gem colonies.

"Thank you Lady Vega."

"However, seeing as how you were bested by Drake, you will need to train your aura more if you don't wish to be defeated like that again." Vega told him as he nodded his head in agreement.

"In fact, you will be given an adequate amount of my aura." She said surprising him as she was now in front of him. She raised a black-gloved hand to his head. Her body soon radiated with energy and it transferred to her hand, to Daviron.

In response, he breathed in and out through his mouth as he began to feel the effects of the masters aura flowing in and around his body. He felt his strength increasing and his injuries heal faster.

"You are sure to acquire even greater strength than you already had to begin with. However, you are to rest up and let your body adjust to the increase of celestial aura you are given." She explained.

"I understand." He said

"You are dismissed." She told him. He stood up, put his hands over his chest as he repeated the same words his comrades spoke earlier before they left.

"For the Glory of the Stars". He then made his way out of the throne room, but his master had a few more words to say.

"And Daviron" Vega said to him, causing him to stop.

"Don't forget why you joined the clan." She said in a stern tone.

Daviron knew asked as a way to remind him of his ambition. Why he shouldn't lose again. While his back was turned, he raised his clawed hand and put it over his blind eye and closed his good one. He soon heard voices of those he cherished, his fellow Komodos, his friends.

Hey Daviron!

Three Cheers for Dav!

His beloved.

Hello Dear.

Finally, the voice of a young male child

Thank you Father

Once he finished hearing the voices, he opened his good eye and responded to what his Master had told him.

"I haven't forgotten. And I never will." He said plainly as he continued walking out of the throne room, leaving Vega alone on her throne with her thoughts. Thoughts about the human-gem hybrid the scaly elite described.

A diamond in the form of a human? I wouldn't be surprised if Rigil knew of this too. I have to take this up with him and the other masters as well. We'll need to know how to properly use him without disrupting his aura, especially if it's a Genesis.

Her thoughts then shifted to the one that forced one of her elites to retreat.

"Drake. Don't think that just because you wounded Daviron, you stand a chance against the whole clan. Against the other masters. Against me. If you keep meddling, I'll finish you off myself…..

Like I should have years ago." She completed as the eyeholes of her mask glowed white.

As Steven, Connie and Pearl were waiting by Blue's arm ship in the docking bay, they noticed everyone was coming back. However, they were saddened when they noticed there was no one else with them and they all shook their heads, indicating that they couldn't find anyone. No zoomans, famethysts, rose quartzes, or even Holly Blue. Amethyst's eyes were watering with tears of worry and frustration. The gems who she considered her sisters were nowhere to be found and whether if they were alive or not was unknown. Not only that, but they failed to defeat the ones responsible for their disappearance.

Everyone got on board Blue's arm ship and soon enough, they were travelling through space, on course for Earth. During the flight, even though they were all next each other, embracing one another, none of them said a word. Just brief silence. What's there to talk about? All they wanted was a peaceful today together, reunite with everyone at the zoo, and have fun. Today wasn't that. It was anything but peaceful. The inhabitants were captured and their condition is unknown. And nowhere close to fun! To make a long story short….

It was a disaster.

The question now was, "What's next?"

TO BE CONTINUED!

I had some things on my mind lately. I'm done with college and trying to piece my life together, especially with all the crap that's going on in the world right now (COVID, Election, etc.). So it's been eating up my time with writing. However, that doesn't mean I'm done with it. Plus, I'm thinking about writing another fanfic(s). So yeah, I'm definitely not done writing.

And just like that, The Zoo Arc of this series is complete. What do you think of the new enemies debut and what do you think will happen next? What's in store for Steven? Connie? The Gems? You'll have to find out when I update next time (Hopefully it'll be sooner than the time it took to make this chapter).

Again, Sorry for the late update! I'll try to update sooner. Next time, everyone comes back home to Beach City, but it's not going to be easy after dealing with what happened at the zoo.

Anyway, hope you enjoyed the chapter. Any comment/review is appreciated & I thank you all for the support. See you next time!
