CHAPTER 6 - I'm Not Jealous

As Kin forced herself onto Shikamaru, he tried his hardest to push her off of him. However, she wouldn't stop until she was satisfied, and so that kiss lasted a good fifteen seconds. A horrifying long fifteen seconds.

Everyone looked at Shikamaru, then at Kin. No one knew what to say, who to even blame. They all saw Shikamaru resisting, so it wasn't his fault. But they were all still in the midst of being excited they won, no one thought to pull her off of him.

"S-So, you guys all have your rides home right?" Kiba asked everyone.

Everyone nodded, some said slight "yeahs," except Temari. Nonetheless, she blinked away her feelings and smiled as Ten Ten said she always did. Ten Ten even looked at her for a second, and even she was surprised too by how well Temari reacted to the situation.

Shikamaru, still traumatized, wiped his lips the second Kin walked away with her friends. He urged the guys to begin walking to the parking lots, and they just kept making fun of him of what just happened. On the other hand, Ten Ten placed a comforting shoulder on Temari. "Hey, you alright?" She whispered to her friend.

Temari looked down at her. "Of course, why wouldn't I be?"

"Oh, nothing, you just looked a bit cold." Ten Ten lied, again receiving a smile from her and a polite, "no I'm fine."

Ten Ten nodded. "Shikamaru, you're taking Temari home right?"

"Yeah, I got her." He replied.

Temari took a nice deep breath. 'Calm down Temari, he's just driving you home, and you two aren't even a couple, stop being hurt.'

As the group made it to the concrete path that separated the entrance of the stadium to the parking lots, the group went their separate ways while Shikamaru and Temari were left alone inside the Jeep once again. To avoid any awkward conversations, Temari whipped out her phone and pretended to be texting, while Shikamaru focused on reversing out of his parking spot and driving Temari home.

Around five minutes into the car ride, Shikamaru broke the silence. "So, how'd we do?"

Temari yawned. "It was alright, I could tell you guys have good chemistry on the field."

"That's what the girls say too, we're just a bunch of pals, don't know what I'd do without em'."

"I used to think the same about my volleyball team," Temari smirked evily. "And then look at that, they all decided to be a bunch of fake bitches."

Shikamaru sniffled. "Sad to hear you had that experience, but you're here now, and by the looks of it, it seems like you do a lot better here than you did back there." He looked at her for a second, before turning his head back on the road again.

"Well, that wouldn't be a fair trial," she added. "I been there longer than I have here, I'll determine that once I attended this school of the same duration." She smiled.

The two smiled at her comment, before letting the rest of the car ride flow in silence. They drove by busy plazas, and countless drive-thru places. For some odd reason, the unusual chaos of cars relaxed Temari. Ever since she was a little girl, she wanted to see flashing lights. Whether it be city buildings, driving cars, she wanted that relaxation of 'business.' Back in Suna, it was all dry grassland, taking it about twenty minutes of a drive just to see a regular plaza. But here? It was different, and she couldn't wait to spend some time in this unfamiliar area.

Shikamaru turned to her for a second as they stopped at a red light, smiling to himself as he noticed how fascinated she was with the passing scenery.

Soon enough, they past through trees, in which Temari told herself she couldn't wait until the next time she passed through the suburban commotion at night. Shikamaru then turned right into the parking lot of her apartment. He parked, in which Temari gathered herself up, unbuckled, and thanked Shikamaru for the ride.

"Hmph. If it only takes her a few open cafes to make her happy, then whoever gets her sure is lucky to not have such a drag in his hands." He told himself, scratching the back of his head as he saw her enter the lobby of her apartment building.

That night, the girls stayed up late, trying to catch up on missing homework assignments. They also spend their Friday nights to talk about life itself, it was a routine thing. And as Ino called it, 'healthy gathering.' In the room, Hinata was sitting on her bed across from Sakura and Ino as Sakura braided Ino's hair, while Ten Ten sat, having her leg propped up on her spinny chair while doing homework.

"So yeah, that's my best relationship advice." Sakura finished her sentence. She was recently talking to Ino about how to keep a man, considering Sasuke looked difficult as he was, and yet Sakura cuffed him.

Ino tapped her chin, "so.. wear less make up?" She asked, which she would then receive a giant facepalm from Sakura.

"Not everything is about looks, you know." Ten Ten told Ino, who was having her hair braided by Sakura.

Hinata agreed, nodding her head. "Y-Yeah, I think Ten Ten is right. I believe the right man is the one who doesn't care about a girl's past, and l-loves her unconditionally."

"Hmm.." Ino tapped her chin again. "Say, Hinata, do you like someone?"

The navy haired girl turned the brightest shade of red. "N-N-No! Of course not!" Hinata looked down, fiddling with a hanging threat of her pajama pants before looking up and seeing her roommates look suspicious.

"Say, I do see her eyeballing Naruto a lot." Ten Ten raised an eyebrow, smiling.

Hinata jumped up from her bed. "T-T-Ten Ten! You said you wouldn't tell!"

"WHAT?!" Sakura and Ino jumped at the same time, leaping onto Hinata's bed and grabbing each of her arms.

Ten Ten bursted out laughing. "Hey! I didn't! You did that yourself, sista'."

Hinata began to scream as the two girls jumped on the bed beside her with both of her arms, and them begging her to spill the details. Ten Ten spun to face them, continuing to laugh until they heard a knock on their door.

"I'm coming in." The girls heard Shikamaru say as he walked in, freshly out of the shower with his hair down, patterned pajamas and a white shirt. He closed the door behind him, laying down on Sakura's bed, which was next to Ten Ten.

"Hey handsome," Ino joked. "What you up to?"

Shikamaru sighed. "Ten Ten asked me to double check her calculus homework before I went to bed," he told them. "What about you guys? Why'd I hear screaming from all the way at the end of the hallway?"

Sakura raised an eyebrow, not wanting to spill Hinata's secret. "How'd ya' know it was us?"

"After going to a concert with Ino, I'm sure I'm an expert at identifying her scream by now." He would then earn a pillow thrown in the face by Ino.

"O-Oh.. w-well..." Hinata looked sideways real quick before telling Shikamaru, "t-there was just a spi-"

Ten Ten extended her arm to pass Shikamaru her notebook, in which Shikamaru extended his and looked at the notebook with solved equations. While doing so, he would cut off Hinata from her sentence. "It's fine Hinata, it doesn't take rocket science to know you have a thing for Naruto."

Hinata was even red than before, squealing into one of her pillows. Shikamaru laughed as he looked at Ten Ten's equations, asking her for a pen to mark some corrections as he turned to his side.

"So..." Ino approached Shikamaru, slapping his rear end, causing him to jump. "You been giving new girl Temari some rides, what gives?" She then began to tickle him. "YOU LIKE HER MORE THAN US?"

Shikamaru wiggled. "AH! Ino! Cut it out! N-No! I-It's nothing like that."

"Mhm, look how red he is, you see how red he is, girls?" Ino told them, as she put him in a headlock.

"Oh, leave the poor boy alone Ino," Ten Ten told her. "If that was the case, you and-"

Ino screamed again, making Shikamaru plug his ears and she even jumped onto Ten Ten while still being in the spinny chair. The two girls fell back, Ten Ten being completely squished by Ino while Ino was trying to prevent her from spilling any more secrets.

Shikamaru got up, throwing the pen and notebook lightly onto Ten Ten's desk. "Goodnight guys."
