CHAPTER 29 - Let's Get it Started in Here!

Kankuro sat on the toilet, staring blankly at his phone waiting for the loading dots to pop up with a text message. He texted Temari back after she had texted him about finally making a decision. Hopefully, they had met eye-to-eye on the situation.

He wiped, stood up, and flushed, placing the phone done on the counter of the sink as he turned the faucet on to wash his hands. While lathering the soap in his palms, he looked down to see a bright message appear on his phone from his sister. He immediately rinsed his hands, patted them dry with a hung up washcloth, and reached to text back on his phone.

'We're going, make sure you're ready for tomorrow night.' - Temari

'Good to see we're on the same boat. I'll let Kiba and the guys know, except.. who's going to watch Gaara?" - Kankuro

'Who says he's not going?' - Temari

'But, it's Gaara?' - Kankuro

'Well, we'll ask. Anyway, he's not a little kid anymore. I'm sure he can take care of himself.' - Temari

'Ight.' - Kankuro

Kankuro walked out the bathroom, staring at the occupied guys who were working on their project while Kiba was laying down on the couch with his phone.

"We're going tomorrow night."

Kiba looked up from his phone, combing his fingers through his own hair. "Huh? Your sister didn't fight you?"

"Nope," Kankuro grinned. "If anything, she's the one who told me we were going."

Nagato nodded, along with the rest of the guys. "We'll be there. So, are we meeting up there or should we come back and give you guys a ride? Carpool, say."

"I'll have to ask," Kankuro answered him. "I'm not quite sure Kin would be really fond to see Temari and Shikamaru come out of the same car, though. So we might have to have you guys drop off here first."

"We gotcha', my man," Deidara smiled at him.

"AHH!" Ino scurried across the room, throwing countless amounts of shoes out of her closet. "I can't find my Louboutin heels!"

Ten Ten opened the door to the dorm room. "Hey," she greeted, while dodging an incoming shoe that flung her way. "Jeez, Ino. Watch where you're throwin' those!"

Ino poked her head out of the closet. "Sorry, but I can't find my Louboutins!"

Ten Ten rolled her eyes. "Which ones?"

"The red, strappy, ones that wrap around the ankle," Ino described to her, fiddling her fingers as she did so.

The brunette blinked in wander, until going, "Ohh!" She then ran across the hallway into the boys' dorm, returning with Ino's desired heels. "Here ya' go."

Ino blinked, her eyes staring at her in complete shock. "What were those doing in there?"

"Oh, I think around a month ago Naruto asked me if we had any high heels he could borrow since he got some female role for his acting class," Ten Ten explained. "So, those were the flashiest ones I first saw when peeking into the closet, hope you don't mind."

"HOPE I DON'T MIND?!" Ino shouted at her, taking a whiff of the heels in her hand, immediately squeezing her nose. "I'm.. I'm going to go spray this down now."

Shikamaru walked in, leaning against the door frame as he yawned obnoxiously. "Whatcha' guys doing? I just woke up from a nap."

Ten Ten laughed at Shikamaru's raspy voice. "Surprised you aren't hanging out with bootylicious blonde."

The guy chuckled, smirking. "Nah, she had to go do something for Baki, so I decided to sleep for a bit until I heard Ino scream, so thanks for that."

Ino smiled brightly, siding her shoulder. "You're welcome."

Shikamaru sighed. "You do realize this is a casual house party, right? I don't know why you're flaunting over thousand dollar heels."

"Who knows, maybe Sai is there," Ino whispered.

Shikamaru opened his hand near his ear, acting as if he couldn't here her. "Sorry, what did you say?! Sounded like you were talking about Sai!" He purposely said out loud.

Ino screamed, rolling under her bed as Ten Ten and Shikamaru started laughing real hard. Temari then walked behind Shikamaru, squeezing into the door frame to enter the room. "Hey, what's so funny?"

Ten Ten tried to explain, but couldn't seem to get the words out of her mouth as she kept laughing. Ino then crawled out from under the bed, scolding the two for laughing so hard while Temari just stood there confused.

Ino crossed her arms, hooking an arm with Temari's. "Come on, Tem. Let's go find you an outfit."

The Next Morning...

Temari woke up, looking at the clock as it read '11:32 AM.'

"Huh," she extended her arm to look at her alarm clock. "Looks like I slept in."

She then rolled over, seeing someone's face really close to hers. As she realized the face wasn't familiar, she screamed and fell off the bed, landing on her butt first.

Loud, quick footsteps then came bursting in, the figure turned on the light. "Temari?!" Kankuro yelled, rushing over to his sister. "What happened?! Are you okay?"

"S-Someone is on my bed..!" Temari pointed to her covers, until the individual sat up tiredly.

"Chilax, it's just me," Deidara waved his hands in defense. "Kankuro told me I could sleep on the floor of your room or on the couch, but by the time I went to go sleep on the couch, Nagato's ass was already on it. And hell nah was I going to be sleeping on some dirty ass floor."

Temari clenched her fist, grabbing a pillow off of the bed, whacking Deidara with it. "T-Then why didn't you sleep in Kankuro's room! Or Gaara's!"

Deidara pointed a finger up to count his reasons. "First of all, they probably doing some weird, sex shit. And second, do you want me to die?!"

Temari let go of the pillow, sighing as she finally gained some conscious to relax. "Whatever, next time just go in my closet and there should be some big sleeping bag in there."

"Thanks cutie," Deidara told her, blowing a fake kiss, causing her to grab the same pillow and throw it at his face.

"I'm starting lunch," Temari told them.

Kiba then walked in, stretching slightly and yawning, revealing a bit of his toned stomach. "Oh yeah, Temari, I don't know if you read your phone, but Sasuke and Sakura made reservations for us at Ichiraku's for lunch."

Temari blinked, looking at the clock. "You expect me to get ready in half an hour?"

Kiba shrugged. "Just go in what you're wearing right now, I do it all the time."

"What? Ichiraku sounds real fancy, and you want me to dress up wearing this?" Temari stretched the fabric of her shirt, to emphasis her point.

Deidara laughed, cuddling into Temari's pillows. "I think you have forgotten that our school is home to students of parents with wealthy establishments, I think you'll be fine."

"I guess that's true," Kankuro scratched behind his neck. "Must be nice to be able to pay a bill without needing to look at the zeros."

"Right?" Temari agreed, sighing. "Let me just go fetch my bag and brush my teeth, then I'll be downstairs with you, Kiba."

Kiba nodded, putting his hands in his pockets before kissing his boyfriend on the lips goodbye. He then took a step backward instantly, forgetting to ask. "You and your little bro want some food? Or if you guys aren't craving anything from Ichiraku's, I can always leave some money here for delivery."

Deidara extended an arm, waving a hand forward. "Don't worry about it, man. I'll take care of the bill, just.. gotta find my credit card."

Kiba blinked, taking his wallet from his pocket to put $100 in Kankuro's pocket. "See ya' later, babe.

Temari and Kiba arrived at the restaurant. Kiba reversed into his parking space, as they see the rest of the gang already seated on a large table outside of the restaurant.

"Damn," Temari said. "I'll never understand you rich kids."

Kiba laughed. "Hey, at least we're not some braggers," he told her, stopping her from approaching the handle of the door. "Don't come out."

Temari blinked, confused until she saw Kiba jogging to her side of the car, opening the door for her and offering an arm. "Would you like an escort to your reserved table with unlimited shade, madam?"

The blonde laughed, looking her arm with his. "I sure do, thank you."

"Ain't that a way you expect the rich to be treated like?" Kiba chuckled, squeezing her arm a bit tighter teasingly.

Temari raised her eyebrows. "Hm, maybe."

The two walked across the parking lot and into a gated area where the rest of the gang was waiting. The gang greeted them, then gave an awkward laugh as they saw Kiba and Temari hooking arms as if they were together.

"Ooo, new couple?" Ino teased, making the gang giggle while Shikamaru let one out a bit on the nervous side.

Kiba joked, escorting Temari to her seat next to Temari, in where he pulled out the chair for her. "You bet."

"Cute!" Sakura joked as well.

"Mhm," Hinata nodded.

Naruto came in, sitting down on his seat beside Sasuke. "Did you guys order yet?"

"No," Sasuke answered. "But Sakura called in advance already and just told them to give us a bunch of meat and rice."

"BUT I WANT RAMEN-" Naruto complained, cut off by Sakura who whacked him on the head.

"YOU IDIOT, YOU PROBABLY HAD RAMEN FOR BREAKFAST," she shouted.

The group got caught up in conversation, in which gave Shikamaru the chance to whisper in Temari's ear. "What was that about?"

Temari blinked, puzzled. "Huh?"

"You know.. with you and Kiba," he answered, embarrassedly.

The blonde immediately started to laugh, trying to muffle it with her hand. "Shikamaru, it was a joke," she told him. "We were just talking about how rich kids act and how I thought they would act, nothing serious."

Shikamaru nodded. "O-Oh, okay. Sorry if I.. went a bit too far."

She would squeeze him by the cheek teasingly. "Oh, you jealous little boy."

Just as Shikamaru was about to say something, a bunch of meat was served on the table. Sakura then raised a wine glass, tapping it with the back of her silver utensil. "Alrighty, we shall be in conference."

"Shut up, forehead," Ino told her, causing Sakura to flick Ino on the forehead.

"Alright," Shikamaru began. "What's the plan?"

Naruto, who already had food in his mouth, began to speak. "Shouldn't you be the.. one.. who knows what to do?"

Ten Ten nodded, also beginning to eat. "He has a point."

The pineapple head rolls his eyes, nevertheless placed his chopsticks down. "I was thinking..." he sided his pupils, eyeballing Temari who was eating. "We all go in separately."

"Separately?" Sakura asked. "What's the use in that?"

"That way, she doesn't suspect we're there for bonding," Sasuke answered her, placing meat on his place.

Shikamaru nodded. "The girl loves attention, I feel as if she will just get angry if she sees us together. Therefore, we'll have Choji and Temari come in last, and the rest of us can come in gradually."

Ino swallowed the contents in her mouth. "Wouldn't it have been a good idea to have Choji hear up on this?"

"Yeah, my bad," Sasuke told her. "I doubt it's anything complicated though. We all just have to make sure that Kin isn't doing anything stupid, and messing with our drinks."

Hinata sipped her coke, nodding shyly. "O-One time, someone spiked my water."

"Yikes." A few of them said.

"So then, it's settled? Choji and Temari can come in together- along with her brothers and Deidara and all them- and the rest of us can come in gradually, I said two to three of us at one visit." Shikamaru clarified.

Temari poked her head up, listening in to the conversation but remained silent for most of the time. Perhaps, she was hungry, but more so, just bothered. The afternoon approached quickly, in which they all agreed to go to the dorms to get ready.

As they began to walk to the parking lots as a group, Temari pulled Shikamaru aside. "Hey," she said. "Why do you seem so tense?"

Shikamaru looked at her in a serious manner, before turning away, avoiding eye contact. "I don't know what you're talking about, why are you asking that?"

"See? When you answer a question with a question then I can tell you're being uncomfortable," Temari fought. "Look, I think everything will be okay, why are you being so down?"

"Because, Temari," he massages her shoulders. "I don't want anything happening to you, there could be some pretty awful people."

Temari looked at him, turning her head slightly to kiss his knuckles. "I'll be fine."

Shikamaru gave her a small and hesitant smile. "Come on, let's go get ready."
