"Hey Alex, is Liv still coming over?" Trevor asked as he and Alex were having dinner.

She shrugged "I'm not sure, I asked her and she didn't respond. She's probably stuck on a case, they've been really busy lately."

He sighed "we had plans for today, but I'm assuming she'll cancel... It's okay though, she has to make time for work and Noah."

Alex nodded, realising just how busy her best friend's life was, she had a demanding job with no fixed hours and a toddler at home who also needed her attention. She was a little bummed out that Olivia didn't respond and was wondering whether she had been pushed her best friend too far. Had she put too much pressure on her? Given her more responsibilities than she could handle right now.

She figured it had to be difficult for Olivia, she was a single mother with a very demanding job and although she never complained about spending time with Trevor, Alex would understand if she felt overwhelmed. Even Alex felt drained and she didn't have to deal with half of the things that Olivia did. She simply had to do her job and plan her wedding, at night she would crash into bed beside her man and in the morning she would come back here and take care of Trevor.

Olivia on the other hand had a more hectic life, she had to balance a rambunctious toddler who was becoming more and more inquisitive with each passing day. A job that had no fixed hours and could have her leaving her home at any given hour, day or night, where she had to place her life on hold to get yet another monster off the streets. She had no fixed time frame, she made it home whenever she could, she got away and spent time with Noah whenever she could. On top of that she managed to make time to help Alex out with wedding plans, to give her opinions on venues and color schemes. To help choose flower arrangements, planning Alex's bachelorette party, and on top of that she was looking for an affordable yet beautiful honeymoon location for her friend in case she lost their bet. Plus if that wasn't enough, Olivia also made time to visit and take care of Trevor whenever Alex called, she even had set dates to spend time with him.

It was in that moment when Alex realised just how much of a saint her friend was, Olivia was running herself to the ground to keep everybody in her life happy. Yet she wondered, was Olivia happy? Who was keeping her happy and giving her a break from it all? Where was her escape from an extremely stressful reality?

Suddenly she was overcome with guilt, for pushing her to do so much when she already had more that enough on her plate. She pushed Olivia to get out and spend time with her patient so that she could break away and plan her wedding. Olivia sacrificed precious time that could have been spent with Noah, just to keep Alex happy, and Alex hadn't even realised it until now.

"Be honest..." she started, breaking the silence that had settled between her and Trevor. She noticed his inquisitive brow and let out a heavy breath, her guilt eating her alive, "am I a bad friend?"

Trevor was confused by her sudden question, he had no idea where it came from, but he could tell that she was torn by the look on her face. He didn't know Alex away from his home, he knew her as his nurse and friend, and she was a damn good friend to him. Even though she sometimes pushed too hard and made him uncomfortable with her questions that never seemed to seize. He still adored their friendship and enjoyed her presence and he always liked hearing Olivia fondly recount their college days.

"You're not. You are an amazing person, and you always do what's best for the people around you. You are the furthest thing from a bad friend" he cracked a smile "and I know Olivia would agree with me on that much."

"What makes you think this is about Olivia?" she asks, trying to hide her insecurity. Although she knew that after spending the last few years with him, Trevor knew her well enough to read her.

It was something he was great at, reading people and understanding what to do in certain situations. After his accident, Trevor had become more aware of those around him, and had learnt to read people well enough to know whether to keep his distance or embrace their presence. With Olivia, he knew from the moment he saw her kind, warm brown eyes and her straight, pearly white smile, that she was a good person with good intentions. He was just too afraid to let her in because he didn't want to get too attached to anybody in his life.

He knew that his time was limited and that he wouldn't have space for a lot of the things most people indulge in. He would not be able to do a lot of things that he had done before in his life and in a strange way he had accepted it. So adding new people to his life was not something he wanted to do, but Olivia had somehow managed to worm her way into his life, that now, when she couldn't make it, he found himself somewhat disappointed.

"I know you well enough Alex, you think that you've been a bad friend to Olivia because of asking her to come by when she could be working or spending time with her son. You feel guilty, it's written all over your face. I know if Olivia was here, she would have told you that there's nothing to feel guilty about." he spoke after a brief pause.

Alex let out a breath, his words had manged to settle her thoughts for now, but she still had a nagging feeling that she was pushing Olivia too much.

"I guess I'll have to take your word about it." she whispered.

He smirked "Do you think she would ever bring him here one day? Her son?"

Alex shrugged, she knew Trevor loved kids because he was always all over his cousins and their kids. He made it no secret that children held a special place in his heart, that he wanted nothing more than to have kids of his own. The possibility of it ever happening was a slim chance and something he wasn't holding his breath for. He made peace with it, but he wondered if Olivia would ever allow Trevor to meet her son.

"I'm not sure, I guess I could ask her" she raised an eyebrow at him, "why?"

"Because she always speaks of him, and I've got an image in my head of a tiny Olivia running about. I would like to see him if she would let me, to meet the little guy." he answered truthfully, honesty was the best policy after all.

Alex smirked, a sudden idea popping into her mind "That might be perfect actually."

"What?"

"I have to meet with the dress maker and short out a few details of what I want for my dress and I need to be with her by five. Now Olivia did say that she could get away from the precinct but she had to take care of Noah because her sitter wasn't free."

He caught on "so she can still come here and relieve you... Just she'll have to bring Noah along."

"Would you be okay with that?" she asked.

"Yes. I love kids Alex, I know he will be adorable, and if he's anything like Olivia he will be kind and funny too." he smirked "she always finds some crazy way to make me laugh."

"I'll text her" Alex shrugged.

Trevor sat back and waited for a response, a small smile playing on his lips at the thought of seeing Olivia again. Not only would he be seeing her but also he might be meeting her son, the one person she was constantly talking about. He knew that Noah meant the world to Olivia and he knew that making a good impression on the little boy would do wonders for their friendship.

Alex smirked "well look at that. She's leaving in ten minutes, she just needs to get a few things to bring along to keep Noah entertained."

"Great. I can't wait to meet him." he smirked "what is he like?"

"he is a funny little boy with the cutest brown eyes and he is pretty much Olivia's twin." she laughed "but he can be a bit shy at first."

"I can handle that" he laughed "I'm sure he is absolutely adorable"

Olivia walked in twenty minutes later with Noah on her arm and a bag with whatever he needed hanging on her shoulder. She instantly saw Alex relaxing on the sofa and smirked "Hey Al"

Noah looked up at the mention of his favourite aunt and smiled "aunty Al"

She walked over to Olivia and took hold of Noah, pressing a kiss to his forehead "Hey Little guy, I haven't seen you in days. How are you?"

"Hungy" he frowned.

She let out a laugh "didn't you have something to eat yet?"

Olivia sighed "unfortunately not, I didn't have time to cook so I was thinking about ordering pizza if Trevor feels for it."

Alex shrugged "I'm sure he wouldn't mind, he is in his room, and I haven't cooked anything yet because he couldn't decide what he was feeling for. So pizza might be a good idea"

"I love pissa" Noah squealed in excitement.

Olivia let out a laugh "of course you do, it's greasy, unhealthy and something you're not supposed to eat. But I'll allow it tonight"

"Yeah!! Pissa!!" Noah cheered happily.

Olivia took him out of Alex's arms after placing his bag down and pressed a kiss to the side of his head "calm down honey, and say goodnight to aunt Alex."

Noah blew a kiss in Alex's direction "night night aunt Al"

"Bye kiddo, I will see you soon." she kissed his cheek "behave and enjoy your pissa."

"I will" he laughed.

Trevor came out of his bedroom when Alex hollered that she was leaving, he said his greeting to her before looking over at Olivia who was on the phone ordering pizza for them. A massive smile tugged at his lips when he saw the little boy in her arms. Noah looked every bit like his mother, from the brunette hair to his little nose, the only features that weren't hers were his blue eyes. He was Olivia's twin and it was beautiful to see, in fact it was beautiful to see her interacting with her son like this.

"Hey, how has your day been?" he asked after she finished her call.

She sat down and shrugged "it was a busy day. We had a hectic case but I managed to get away for a bit, then I had to get this little guy from daycare and get his things before coming here. How has your day been?"

"Not as eventful as yours, I had a doctors appointment and had to get clearance before coming back home. Then i helped Alex with a few small wedding details and I still have to go grocery shopping which is an absolute nightmare." he sighed "he's cute by the way."

She looked down at Noah who was smiling shyly at Trevor "Thank you, Noah this is Trevor, Trevor this is Noah." she introduced the two.

Noah furrowed his little brows "twev" he said with a giggle "you name is funny"

Trevor let out a laugh "only because you're not saying it correctly. So how was your day Noah?"

He shrugged, squirming to be released from his mother's embrace "I ate ice-cweam." he said while standing up against Olivia's legs.

Trevor smirked "what flavour?"

"Chocolate"

"That's my favourite flavour, did you enjoy it?"

He nodded "yeah I like chocolate."

"I ordered some pizza for us to snack on and if you want we can go grocery shopping when we finish eating. I have to feed him something before we get into shopping or he'll be moody the whole way to the store and back." she explained while taking off the coat Noah was wearing.

Trevor nodded "no problem at all, I love pizza so it's a win win situation, and shopping is always better when it's not being done with my night nurse."

"Why's that?" she asked.

"because he has no patience and grabs whatever first sees. It's a bit stressful" he laughed.

"Well if you can keep Noah, I might be able to get some shopping done for you right after we eat." she offered.

He smirked "sounds doable, I'm sure he would love riding around in a electric chair"

She let out a laugh "he loves anything that doesn't involve him walking for hours on end so he will definitely enjoy you wheeling him around."

"Then it's settled, first pizza then grocery shopping." he smirked.

Noah made his way over to Trevor and gave him a sweet smile "up up"

Olivia reached down and gently placed Noah onto Trevor's lap, she gave him a nervous smile "is that okay?"

Trevor nodded "yes, I can't feel anything"

She let out a laugh "I'm aware"

Trevor looked down at Noah who had started playing with the watch that adorned his wrist "Hey Noah do you wanna go on a little tour while we wait for the pizza?"

He looked up at his mother with pleading eyes "can I?"

She nodded "of course you can baby, but you have to be good for Trevor okay?"

He nodded and let out a happy squeal "otay!"

Trevor laughed before wheeling the little boy out of the kitchen, he had a massive smile on his face as his one arm held the boy close, keeping him safely placed on the chair. While his free hand moved the lever to get them where ever they wanted to be.

Noah squealed in excitement, enjoying the ride and his little face lit up with wonder when Trevor took them into the library. The room was filled with rows of books and everything was beautifully set up, the room was bright and welcoming.

Noah gasped "wow"

Trevor laughed at Noah's expression "this is one of my favourite rooms in the house Noah. Do you like books?"

He nodded, still looking around at all the books that adorned the shelves in the massive room "mommy weads to me" he explained.

"That's good, books are very good because they teach you a lot about life." he smiled down at the little boy.

Noah relaxed back in Trevor's embrace, a smile on his face as he looked up at Trevor "you wead to me tonight?"

He smirked "it would be an honour kid."

Any thoughts?
