chapter three - another victim
hey y'all. so, this chapter is an important plot point, so read it, and it also happens to be a bit funny, but i'm not gonna say it's a comedy because frankly, it isn't. oh well. btw, i don't own harry potter. still. stupid legal stuff. don't sue me, bye.
recap -
the golden trio has just been given the marauders map by the best pair of twins everrrrr, and are starting to investigate the strange circumstances in which their classmates were attacked.
"Hermoine!" Ron yells, knocking on the girls dormitory of Gryffindor house. He turns to look at me, shaking his head. "Not there." He sighs.
"Ok, let's think about it this way," I begin. "If we were Hermione, where would we begin?"
"I would start by getting some headache medicine." I give him a questioning look. "What? She must get a bloody headache from all of those books! How can she possibly read the whole lot of them and not-"
"Wait a minute, books...oh. I'm an idiot," We turn around a head for the library.
A shelf. Another one, more books, but no Hermione.
Ron taps me on the shoulder, holding back laughter. When I turn around we see a very focused Hermione sitting with a very big, very heavy looking book in her lap.
"Well there you two are. How can you not be studying now? We have a case!" She exclaimed, finally noticing us, but speaking without removing her eyes from the ginormous book.
"What in the bloody hell are you reading? I've never seen a book that big," Ron said with a small laugh.
"A study of Muggle crimes! Quite fascinating, actually," She replied, looking up at last.
"Were you not a Muggle!? Why study it whe-"
"Stop you two," I interjected, "You're both right. Hermione, studying helps, and you've been missing for hours, so we assume you've been here all that while. And Ron, it's true reading isn't needed as of now."
"Hey-" Hermione started, but I kept going.
"What matters is that there are DYING PEOPLE. We need to go, and we need to go fast. If we don't take action, who will?"
"We will," They replied with a sigh.
"Alright then. Let's go hunt for a killer,"
"Where do we start?" Ron wondered.
And then the answer appeared. Not in an ominous way, I mean, it literally walked right up to us. Quite quietly actually.
"Ron."
It was Percy Weasley.
"Percy." He grumbled.
Ron is not fond of the Griffindor Head Boy, and he didn't attempt to hide it.
"There is something happening, and cause your my brother," He sighed. ( It seemed the Head Boy was not very fond of his brother either ) "I have decided to tell you first. Well, after McGonnagal, of course," He said, as if it were obvious, and frankly, it was, "There has been another killing,"
"Bloody He-"
"Who was it?" Hermione interjected, " Not that I must know, but I sort of am kinda-"
"We're investigating," I finished for her.
"Investigating the murders?"
"What else?" Ron snapped.
"Yes, we are. Now, who died?" I asked before an argument could begin.
"Blaise Zabini,"
Blaise Zabini. I hardly knew him. He was generally quiet, and kept to himself. The only times I had seen him interact with anyone, it was Malfoy, so I could assume enough about him. But even Malfoy I wouldn't wish death upon, so I would definitely not wish it upon his watered down version either.
"How?"
"Well, if you mean how he was killed, then it was a stab wound. If you're asking how I know, It's because of the muggles' book of wounds and illnesses. A very helpful read, might I add." Percy replied.
Hermione gaped at him.
"I love that book," She muttered.
"You saw the body? Bloo-"
"Will you stop saying that? And yes, I saw the body," He said with a little smile, like he was bragging.
"Can you tell us how you found the body?" Hermione asked.
"Sure. Here goes…"
