recap-
blaise's body has just gone missing, and our golden trio has everything but a good lead. percy and penelope, who both found the missing body, are closer than ever, and if the murders weren't still going on, life would be… boring frankly. but murders are going on, maybe even now more than ever, so they better get on that.
"Psst. Ron," I whispered.
"Bloody hell Harry," He muttered, "What are you doing up at three in the morning?"
"What do you think Ron," I said, "It's not like there's a serial killer in this school."
He was about to reply when we heard footsteps.
"What's that?" He quivered.
"Oh, it's just a murderer, coming right up loudly to your dormitories," Hermione said as she opened the door to the dorm.
It was Hermione, of course. I should have known she wouldn't be asleep either, I mean, she once pulled an all-nighter because she wanted to finish next semester's potion homework early.
"I still don't get why you can just barge in up here but we can't go into the girl's dormitories," Ron sighed.
Hermione looked like she was about to burst out laughing.
"It doesn't matter Ron," I interrupted, "We have work to do."
And after a bit of grumbling from Ron, we started looking at the Marauder's Map and Hermione pulled out an extendable ear, just in case we needed it. We then moved down to the common room, so as to not wake up our classmates.
"Hermione," Ron blurted out suddenly, after a few hours of studying the case.
"What is it this time Ronald," Hermione groaned.
If you don't understand why she's upset, then you really must not know Ron.
"Millecent Bulstrode is walking about, right now," Ron said, sounding scared and excited at the same time.
"It's obviously her!" I exclaimed. Now, that might be considered a stretch to some people, but we were running out of leads.
"Let's go!" Ron replied.
"Where exactly?" Hermione questioned.
"Uhh… the library!" Ron said after looking at the map.
Morning was approaching quicker than they thought, and given that it was a Tuesday, there were students roaming around who had just awoken. We raced over to the library when Ron suddenly realized something.
"I left the map," He said with a stop, "What if she's gone?"
"It doesn't matter Ron," I reassured, "And, if we move fast, we'll find her there,"
I didn't know how right I really was.
We had just about arrived when I heard a commotion in the magical antidotes section, where Hermione spends a lot of her time. There were more students awake by then, so we brushed off the crash as a simple accident. Then we saw her.
Millicent Bullstrode.
There was blood around her face, and we all thought for sure she had died. Then we heard another sound.
"Raven-" Millicent uttered before fainting.
"So it's a Ravenclaw," Hermione stated, as if it were an obvious fact, "I mean, you heard her too, right?"
"We're not deaf Hermione," Ron replied. So it was an obvious fact.
And then, once the fact of the matter set in, we ran to find Professor McGonnagall or any other teacher who could help. And at this time, which was around 7am, I knew exactly where to find them.
In the great hall.
And I know what you're thinking. Why is the great hall so important?
Just you wait.
