Hey guys! So, I know I took a pretty long break from posting, but I'm back! These last few chapters are going to be the best. And if yall want more of this story, I can write a sequel taking place during GoF. Review if you want me to! Alright, that's enough talking, just make sure to not sue me for not owning Harry Potter. Thanks!
recap-
Blaise's body has been missing for a while now, and our favorite trio was running out of leads. But when another student is attacked, she gives a vital clue to the killer's identity. Will they solve it before more blood is shed, or will all be safe.
"Did you hear-"
"Another one!"
"I heard a Ravenclaw-"
That's all I heard in the halls this morning. The way to breakfast was a nightmare. Somehow, the gossip only worsened after the dementors left.
"You'd think they would have better things to talk about," Hermione rolled her eyes, "I mean, exams are coming up, and I know half of them haven't studied a bit!"
"Who in their right mind would honestly focus on exams with all of the murder going on?" Ron looked at Hermione like she was mad.
"Doesn't matter guys," I cut in, "What matters is solving this. I mean, the answer must be obvious. What are we missing?"
"Well, all I know is that it's a Ravenclaw," Ron sighed.
"You know," Hermione started, "I'm beginning to think Zabini's strange disappearance has something to do with all of this."
"Meaning…" Ron failed to grasp what she meant.
"She means he's alive, moron," I replied before Hermione could say anything.
"Oh," He suddenly had an idea, "Do you think he could be working with the Ravenclaw?"
"Ronald, that's a… surprisingly a good idea!" She gasped.
"I know it is," He grinned.
"Oh, shove it Ron," I laughed.
We all entered the dining hall.
"That's honestly-"
And then, without warning, the doors slammed.
"What the hell?" I blurted out.
"Language, Potter," Snape appeared out of nowhere.
"Sorry sir," I quickly responded, trying not to say it sarcastically.
The Great Hall quickly went from silence to a murmur of voices from all around. The teachers and Dumbledore got up and began towards the doors.
"Alohomora," Hermione whispered, trying to open the doors.
"They're not going to open that simply, Miss Granger," McGonnagal tutted, "We've been trying for about 5 minutes now."
"Sorry Professor," She gulped.
"It's no bother," She glanced over at Hermione again, "Just trying to help."
A few minutes passed in a sort of loud silence. I could bet hundreds of things were going on, but it still felt alone and quiet. Suddenly, a shout arose.
"What is it Flitwick?" McGonnagal hurried over along with the other teachers.
"The doors could have only been-" He tried to play it cool, "closed from the- the- inside."
I gasped audibly. This meant whatever had it out for us was in this…
Then the lights went out. It was so dark, I couldn't see my hand. I whispered for Ron and Hermione but only heard a startling silence.
"AAAHH!" Someone shrieked.
The lights flickered back on. Everything seemed normal at first, until I happened to glance at the Slytherin table.
"Bloody hell," Ron almost fainted.
There was a girl wearing a Slytherin robe splayed across the floor. I had never seen her before, but she looked like she was about 14. Her eyes were open in shock and blood was pooling beneath her body. A knife stuck out of her chest.
At that exact moment, at least twenty people promptly fainted.
"This school is over," I muttered to Ron and Hermione. They did not find it even slightly amusing.
"This isn't something to joke about, It's something terrible. But it's something terrible that we can help fix. So let's do that," Hermione gave us this little pep talk, and quickly arose to speak with Professor McGonnagal.
Ron stared after her with a strange look on his face.
"Oh focus on the actual problem here mate," I smirked.
"I am. What do you think I'm-"
"Potter! Weasley! Get over here!" McGonnagal suddenly shouted, but not too loud as to create any more chaos.
We hurried over at once. Crisis or not, she was our teacher.
"Ms. Granger has just informed me that you know quite a bit about what's happening here," She began as we got within hearing distance.
"Yes ma'am," Ron and I responded promptly.
Snape and a few other teachers sauntered over to us.
"What is going on Minerva?" Snape sneered.
"These three are helping us," She quipped back, gesturing to Hermione, Ron, and myself.
"Quite well, as I've overheard," Dumbledore spoke, a slight smile glinting in his eyes.
"Just like your father would Harry," Hagrid smiled and then quickly stopped when he looked back at the poor girl.
"So, what have you three found out?" Lupin interjected.
"Well, we have a few leads," Ron rambled, seemingly shy.
"Well we are sure that there are two killers," I interrupted for him.
"Blaise Zabini seems like quite the obvious answer," Hermione went on, "And there's got to be someone else."
"Zabini's body was the one that went missing, correct?" Flitwick asked.
"Yes, and we have some sources that saw him walking about the castle in the past week," Ron tried to cover for the Mauraders map, but he was not very good at it.
Hermione glared at him, but only Snape seemed to notice.
"And-" Hermione was about to state.
"There's someone else not here Professor," Professor Sprout rushed up to us, then stared at me, Ron, and Hermione.
"Who would that be?" Dumbledore asked, then stated, "These three are a big help, Pomona. They've figured out a lot about this case that some trained Auror's may have missed."
She smiled at us awkwardly, and we did as well. She then began, "Well, his brother is right here…"
"Oh no, is it Fred? Or George, but I don't think that's as likely, he's just a bit smart-" Ron said worriedly.
"The other one. Percy." She cut him off.
"Oh. Well, I miss him too I guess. What's happened to him?" Ron's mood had suddenly improved.
"He's not here. Hasn't been, for three whole days, haven't you noticed?"
Ron looked guilty, and Hermione looked like she was thinking hard.
"Well, I've been quite busy," Ron muttered.
"Your sources should have informed you," Snape smirked.
"That's it!" Hermione suddenly exclaimed, "We need to hurry, but I know exactly who it is!"
Suddenly, at that moment, I had the same realization. It was time to catch some killers.
